reblog bg3 wyll is peak warlock backstory fiendish warlock disowned by his family because his patron bound him to silence and tiamat was there! :D my main complaint abt bg3's writing is that the game itself sidelined him HARD in baldur's gate i love the wyrmway quest because of the two other characters involved but their revelations completely overshadow wyll and the quest has zero consequences on the main story because you fail! you fail to get help from the wyrmway they had wyll failing his baldur's gate quest baked into the story i think that's fucked also the fact that you can permanently kill him at the end of act 2 right before he gets into his storyline with his father and how breaking his pact is weirdly without consequences you can just. save ravengard anyway. it's just Slightly more difficult i ignored shadowheart in my first playthrough and it made certain parts of the story feel downright empty taking her through the game and gauntlet and choosing whether or not to kill the nightsong has huge consequences for her AND the world same with laezel and the creche not asking for that for every companion but wyll feels like he should have that level of importance in act 3 at least considering who his dad is i like the companions all being optional but unlike the others when i did choose to focus on wyll there was no content to find nobody in baldur's gate recognising him or believing he's wyll ravengard contributes to this massively he's a stranger in his own city and that's interesting but also locks out some potential interesting quests they for sure could've done more with the florrick quest too my first playthrough companions were wyll gale and karlach and it felt like the other two always had something to do or say i have a lot of wyll thoughts warlocks are my favourite class and he's such an excellent example of a warlock noble background warlock is such a fascinating set up that's all of my wyll thoughts for now i've been grinding honour mode saves recently so ig he's just been on my mind
