This was one of the tiniest dragonflies I have ever seen, and they were all over in the Masai Mara.
The closest species I have found is the Wandering Glider (Pantala flavescens), but that doesn't seem quite right. The dragonflies I saw were darker and more metallic in tone, with gold-ish patches at the base of their wings. But I was still glad to learn about Wandering Gliders, because they are found all over the world and seem to migrate incredible distances, even crossing the Himalayas. Isn't that amazing? You can read about them here.

Rob Garren posted a beautiful cockerel from his purple poultry project the other day, though i think this bird is from his general iridescent breeding pen. The bird is beautiful and looks like an oil slick. There isnt a "gene" that causes this, this is Rob selecting for more and more iridescence over time.
He also got some up close pictures of the feathers and they are breathtaking
You can follow Rob's project at the purple poultry facebook group but none of these birds (or eggs) are for sale yet so do not bother him.
Have you ever seen the pattern on a Macrodontia Cervicornis cuz like… holy shit
these are saimaa ringed seals, they are freshwater seals and the most endangered seals in the world with less than 400 remaining. they are descendants of ringed seals that were separated after the last ice age and live only on and around the banks of lake saimma
Is this important? No!
Am I gonna keep making stuff like this? Probably!
