Ingeniously, the weather played into factor.
Taking shelter under a leaking roof was the only thing present, as waiting underneath a cover-less bus station would leave you less than satisfactorily soaked to the bone. Promised to await until the evening - the clouds halted for no one. Releasing torrents of rain from the skies to beat viciously against that metal-plated overhang left your ears to fill with the static of such noise. Sure, the beeps of car horns or closing doors were unmistakable, yet something was.
A certain feeling perhaps.
You gazed to the other side of the road, and in between those passing cars was the outline of a man, wielding an umbrella - seemingly already prepared for such a moment. Once the street had cleared, your heart jumped; plain and simple. The one man you had hoped never to see, was now currently staring at you from across the way. Was it months, or practical years since he had approached you? Either way, the look on his pronounced face spoke all the same.
You weren’t done yet, by his standards. However, you certainly were. The bus finally arrived at the station, blocking his eternal gaze from you, allowing escape. You sprinted to that bus, wiping off the rain that thumped against your head previously before taking a seat. You glanced out the window with stricken fear, only for your mind to relax as the man was no longer in sight on that feeble sidewalk. Your eyes closed in relief, subconsciously drifting your head to lean against the window on your left.
