- i found this charming little recipe this morning and basically fell in love and want to surprise my partner with a cute lil romantic dinner when they come home from work today! I was thinking a âfancyâ garlic bread to go with it for sure :) but I need some veggie side ideas or something! maybe soup? anyone know how to make a good minestrone? im kinda stumped ;(
hi! i'm a baby witch and i wanted to see if there are any spells you'd recommend for protecting others.
Sure thing. Though, just as a note, protecting others is a bit more difficult than simply protecting yourself just because (like all magic worked on others) youâll need something of theirs or you may want to make something that they will carry with them. I wonât link many particular spells here, but Iâll give you some ideas and you can begin to craft your own. You might want to look through the protection tag for further ideas as well. I would recommend either creating a poppet of the individual you want to protect or (if youâre trying to protect more than one person at a time) you might make up a jar to add all of your items and taglocks into. Alternately, it might be easiest to create a charm or satchet or to simply cast on an object and have them carry it with them for protection. You can also, if you work with any spirits or ancestors, make an offering to these powers on behalf of the person youâre hoping to protect and send them to watch over them. (You can also use a picture of the person/their name/some taglock and, placing it in the center of the table, build a ward of protection around them with stone, earth, candle/fire much like this ward is being built) Either way, protection items typically include garlic, basil, salt, eggshell, witch hazel, aloe, (I usually also include mint cause the best defense is a good offense), tigerâs eye, oak, etc. Have a look about your area and see what is local to your space, whatâs accessible, what associations do they have in your area that they may not have elsewhere. Â
Kitchen Magick is Something near and dear to me. And something I enjoy doing damn near every day..A way to make something that you do every day a little more magickal⌠though I believe cooking and food itself is magickal. It is a gift of earth. but adding in your own magick and intent makes it all the more powerful.
I usually just let my guidesâŚguide me.. Iâll find myself sprinkling in typically unusual things like A pinches of nutmeg and cinnamon along with basil and rosemary in my spaghetti , I stumbled upon the perfect sweet treats for calm composure and memory help with rosemary and lavender sugar cookies,
and todays topicâŚCOCOA . I use it in SO MANY THINGS. Even when Iâm not purposefully trying do the Witchinâ . And there are some great magickal and medicinal uses for it!

The kitchen is the center of the home for many of us, and itâs a place where we can make all kinds of magic. From family dinner recipes to spell work, your kitchen often becomes the spot where people come for comfort, warmth, and sustenance.
Do this simple blessing spell in your kitchen to add a bit of mojo into your meal prep.
Green ribbon
Fresh basil
A wooden spoon
Use the ribbon to tie the basil to the wooden spoon, and walk in a clockwise direction around your kitchen, beginning at the north wall.
As you move, open each cabinet, the refrigerator, and the pantry, waving the spoon like a wand
Pointed into each cabinet and at your stove and oven, saying:
Bless this kitchen, hearth and home.
Bless this kitchen and the meals prepared.
Bless this kitchen and the magic made.
After youâve circled the entire kitchen, hang the spoon near your oven or inside the pantry as a reminder that magic is present.

Maps! Maps! MAPS! If you're a death witch, get one for the cemeteries you visit and mark gravestones/areas you've practiced in! Garden witches! Map out your gardens! Green witches! Map where you find specific herbs in your area! Lunar witches! Mark the best spots to go look at the sky! Make a key! Take notes!
Recipes for COMPONENTS! Write down how to make the mixtures you use in spells often- A special salt mixed with herbs and put under the moon, a mixture of oils for protection, the herb mixes sachets you keep making to add to sachets, whatever!
For green witches- press samples of stuff and glue them in! Go to an arboretum and ask for permission to take leaves to press, they'll usually let you take some- add them in with your notes about trees
Cool ways to make spells! I make spells in envelopes and on empty spools, what are some ways you do?
The local plants in your area and what they do. You're not going to be likely to find chrysanthemums to forage in Missouri, but you will find creeping charlie and prairie plants. What can you do with a thistle?
When you celebrate a sabbat, write down what you did and include samples! Ribbons from your Beltane altar, a pressed sample of your lemmas harvest, a scrap of your Yule decorations. Maybe do a spell and tape the remnants into your grimoire in a plastic baggie
Learn how to make an envelope out of paper just by folding it, how to string seeds, how to dry plants, how to macrame rocks and hang them from your window. Find those little witchy skills and write them down.
How to incorporate your hobby into your magic. Sigiling origami paper, weaving knot magick into your crochet, making blessed bookmarks, etc
Substitutes! Rosemary, rose and clear quartz are good for most things, but there are more substitutes to be used that are more powerful. Roanoke bells are good substitutes for bluebells, apparently.
Correspondences of odd things. Turns out different kinds of cats have different correspondences, huh.
Superstitions and such from where you're from.
For kitchen witches: easy to alter recipes. An egg noodle recipe that takes herbs really well, a simple bread recipe that can be dressed up for spells or rituals, how to make a good pie crust that you can sprinkle nutmeg in or whatever you desire.
Or: What foods go good with what herbs. You'll make a better apple pie (and get the benefits of apples, nutmeg, and cinnamon together!) If you know how your herbs taste together with your cooking. (Most kitchen witches know this stuff, but for a green witch who likes to make teas or a sea witch that likes to make soup, etc, this is important)
Lambâs Ear (for decisions pertaining to children)
Caraway seed (clarity of mind )
Rosemary (for ease of anxiety)
Basil ( clarity of mind )
Celery ( clarity of mind )
Cherry (luck in future paths)
Cinnamon (for brainstorming)
Dandelion (to hear your God better)
Dill (clarity of mind)
Garlic (to help do what is best for the family)
Lemon (clarity of mind)
Nutmeg (clarity of mind)
Peppermint (clarity of mind)
Sage (clarity of mind)
Spearmint (clarity of mind)
Tea Tree oil (clarity of mind)
Thyme (inner blanace)
Walnut (clarity of mind)
Ylang Ylang (brings peace to situations)
⢠eat citrus fruits or drink fruit water as an alternative to mints. Fruit, especially sour fruit, promotes salivation, which helps to fight off bacteria in your mouth that causes bad breath. adding some strawberry, lemon, and kiwi slices to a bottle of water is a great way to keep your breath sweet.
⢠Next time you make guacamole, save the pit of the avocado, dry it, and keep it in your purse or on your person. Avocado pits are deeply symbolic of sex, lust, love, and beauty, and can help to attract romance. This symbolism dates back to the ancient aztecs, who named the avocado, âahacatl,â or âgreen testicle.â
⢠Dilute a few drops of pomegranate and rose oil in a teaspoon of coconut oil, and massage this into your neck, chest, and behind your ears as a perfume. The scent is light, seductive, and easy on your partnerâs taste buds when they go in to leave a few hickies. Plus, the coconut oil will leave your skin silky smooth and soft.
⢠Make some DIY jewelry out of wire and river pearl beads. Strings of river pearls can be found at most craft stores; theyâre quite cheap, but just as natural and magical as expensive round pearls. Pearls are associated with beauty and sensuality, as well as corresponding to the moon and Venus. They carry a soft energy that promotes both romantic and sexual activity. Red jasper, rose quartz, and rhodochrosite are also good.
⢠Rosewater. I know so many witches AND non-witches rave over rosewater, but the hype is for good reason. Using rosewater as an astringent facial mist is a refreshing and sensual finishing touch to your date night beauty routine. Rose energy enhances your beauty, and the barely noticeable scent will entice your partner to come a little closer.
⢠strawberries are a natural aphrodisiac. A stick or container of strawberry lip balm can easily be enchanted to make your lips look naturally ravishing with some rose quartz, red jasper, and a pink candle. Bonus points if itâs pink or red tinted.
⢠Body glitter!! I know this isnât everyoneâs cup of tea, but as someone who doesnât often wear makeup, I like to find new and exciting ways to glamourize my look without it. Moisturizing body bars and sprays can be found at stores like lush, (the shimmy shimmy bar is my fave,) or online. You can also make your own with some coconut oil, beeswax, essential and fragrance oils, and skin safe seaweed based glitter. I use body glitter as an extra kick to beauty glamours, and a physical reminder of how magically delicious I look.
Thatâs all I have for now, but if you have any of your own tips please feel free to add on! Much love and good luck to you all đ
If you're hoping for a smooth reply... you'd be disappointed about this post LOL. This is just a personal opinion.
First thing first I'd prefer to use the term "beginner" instead of "baby" but let's go with the flow for a moment.
The more you know...?
I honestly don't think that the amount of info you know defines if you're a baby witch or not, but it does help for sure. Why?
In my humble opinion...you stop being a baby witch when you're able to fully explain the aspects of Your own ritual.
Easy? No. In order to do that you have to:
đşKnow how to set intent.
đşKnow how to focus properly on what you're doing.
đşThe ingredients correspondences.
đşBe able to give a personal meaning to words/gesture/timing etc
đşBe prepared for the consequences and eventually know how to nullify your spell or correct your mistakes
đşIf you work with a deity or another being... you should know about culture/pantheon/offerings/proper EVERYTHING.
To add your own touch to a certain ritual you have to know the general basics, the history behind your practice and mostly...Yourself, your reasons, what pushes you to grow or holds you still. Who you are...
