Some people in my last post were talking about crossovers and that reminded me. Can you imagine how fucking unhinged a Scooby-Doo/Danny Phantom crossover would be

I've just watched the latest OVA and I needed to write some stuff down, mainly why Bakugou Katsuki will be a great hero and how he ALREADY thinks like one (under certain conditions)
Everyone knows he's incredibly strong and definitely has the power to become a hero (I don't think that's disputed) but he's also smart. He's a nerd who goes to bed at 8:30 and who studies a lot, so much so he tutors Kirishima. He was third for midterms and has shown to be able to come up with quick and well thought-out plans like during the provisional licence exam by giving Kaminari access to his gauntlets.
Yeah he's not the best with words, but when it counts? He knows exactly what to say to resolve the situation.
He didn't have to say any of these things. He could have forcibly dragged Kaminari to charge the emergency power supply, middle school Bakugou probably would have, and yet instead he tried to encourage him. Same with Kirishima, he could have ignored the conversation but he didn't. And with the kid at the license exam? His choice of words shows exactly how far he's come.
The number one hero saves everyone and doesn't need saving themselves, which is why Bakugou does help other people but he refuses help for himself.
(side note look at Kirishima's face sjdkkfkf)
His biggest weakness has always been his thrive to do everything on his own.
Which is why Kirishima and Kaminari are SO important. They don't let him go off on his own.
(they do the same in the OVA but I've reached the image limit)
The three of them work well as a hero team, Kirishima and Bakugou working well together as a duo like during USJ as well. Bakugou is kind of like a team leader, coming up with plans and barking out orders, having nobody tell him what to do. They all help each other and Bakugou doesn't feel like he's being looked down on, despite Kirishima saving his ass on multiple occasions.
I'm not saying he's a perfect hero. Not at all. However, when he's with Kaminari and Kirishima he's probably the most hero-like person in class A. He isn't fighting recklessly and just hoping for the best like Midoriya does, yet he gets the same results.
Honestly, while I do love the dynamic of the new big three, I think these three work better together. When Bakugou fights alongside Todoroki and Midoriya it's more begrudgingly with spews of "DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO". I'm not caught up on the manga so I can't say if it gets better, but at the moment while the big three may be the strongest class A trio, they're not the trio that works best together.
Once Bakugou resolves his issues with Midoriya and Todoroki learns a bit more about self awareness (I love him but he's an idiot) I feel like they'll become an unstoppable team. Until then? Y'all are sleeping on the sunset trio 😤😤
please, its 2:30 am, please stop
