"oh, well, that's easy. i'd compliment you without some personal assistant deal." he shrugs, "because you look fuckin' amazing." he tells her, eyebrows lifting a bit as if to emphasize just how true it is. he's glad dom is nowhere to be found as he maintains their closeness, inching maybe even a centimeter or two closer. dj can't help his own laugh as she lets out the cutest damn laugh he's ever heard. "the very one. i'm not saying they were always correct, but it's the thought that counts, right?"

dj watches her sip at her drink, trying not to be completely obvious about the fact that he's looking at her mouth, eyes flicking quickly back to hers as if he's a child who's going to be caught stealing from the cookie jar. he hums, "i'd consider it more... between drinks, y'know what i mean? i was headed to the bar, but then ran into you and you're much more interesting than another miller lite." he tells her. "plus, you shared with me, so we're keepin' it flowing." he pauses for a moment, another shrug rolling off of his shoulders, "when you finish yours we can walk over there together and get refills." he's mostly just looking for an excuse to keep hanging out with her, he doesn't even really care if it's obvious.

dj has always had a knack for getting attention . even in school , maya saw the way girls grinned at him or leaned in for conversation . HE'S ALWAYS BEEN A LIKEABLE GUY . genuine . it makes a hot flush run over her , pleased that she's now the one getting his attention . " i know what you mean . " she agrees , with a laugh . the red on his cheeks looks good . maya doesn't think she's ever done that to him before . a part of her wanders what it means , while the other ( smarter ) part within her says : you know what this means . she isn't an idiot . isn't completely immune and unbeknownst to flirting . she just never expected it from HIM . " refills , yes . maybe even saying , ' oh maya , you look so gorgeous by the way ' . and you know . . . if there's anything in my teeth at any point , you have to be the one to tell me . " maya bites down on the corner of her lip , trying not to grin too big and goofy and silly and OBVIOUS . it's hard not to when dj mentions being voted most helpful . a sudden and un-attractive sounding laugh bites out of her and maya puts one hand over her mouth . some part of her will always be that same little girl with a dorky crush . " i didn't take you for the frat kind . was this the same frat that voted dom ' best at belching sir mix-a-lot songs ' ? " she pretends to squint , inquisitive . " if so , i have to question their judgement . " maya takes another long sip of her champagne . she wonders if she drank from the same spot he did . " i can see why dom chose you as best man , then . " maya agrees . " speaking of which , why are you without a drink ? "

who's gonna indulge me in an m professor / f uni student plot on discord, where he has a wife & kids at home but can't seem to stay away from her. give me all the toxicity of the student blackmailing him to keep him right where she wants him, the sneaking around, the student being in a long term relationship herself & always teasing her professor by being all over her partner right in front of him, just to see how far she can push him. i'd ideally love to write a theo james or tom ellis against a cailee spaeny or sydney sweeney, but honestly i'm open to suggestions!
