Very specific facts of the hogs:

Sonic:

Has ADHD

Can’t cook, count, remember anything useful or swim (ofc)

Has great social and emotional support skills

Is patient only in serious situations

Still turns into the Werehog on October

Gets freckles from the sun (The peach parts are also just bare skin.)

He’s a natural hedgehog so if he’s a bit chubby it’s only healthy for him and his species. (Very easily gains weight and his age doesn’t help.) He also ‘’hibernates’’, so he sleeps most of winter only waking up to eat.)

Has a great sense of smell 

Is a manchild

Always naps after eating

Is a glutton and usually almost chokes on food (also eats out of boredom)

Is still very fast and always rushes everything he does

Is very loud and obnoxious (even to the embarrassing or annoying state)

Is very lazy (Or just can’t be bothered with stuff he’s not that into

Stuck in the 90′s

Shadow:

Can hardly gain weight and doesn’t hibernate. (But shares some common traits with natural hedgehogs)

Is half alien so there’s a lot of nonsensical alien magic going on

Mostly vegetarian (just wants to avoid an upset stomach and heart burn)

Chronically depressed (comes in waves, nowadays he does manage to live fulfilling life with it tho)

Very high tolerance (pain, drugs etc) (he also heals himself very quickly, won’t get scars for example)

Is very patient and calm and is able to focus on anything he’s doing

Is a great cook

Is socially inept 

Has poor handling of emotions (Can’t make them clear to people)

Can’t sleep alone

Is very self conscious

Is over protective

Is addicted to caffeine, nicotine and psychical exercise) (to keep his mental health in check)

Is secretly very sweet, romantic and gentle (Rarely shows it tho)

His genuine laugh sounds like wheezing, yelling and choking

outsider povs my beloved. theres an old man who runs a hot dog stand, and there used to be a little hedgehog kid, blue, that would sometimes come up and silently hand over some rings and collect his food before running off. he doesnt live in the village, the old man knows that, and he doesnt know where he comes from. sometimes days went by without seeing him, sometimes months. sometimes he brought a little fox kid with him. they dont seem to have any parents or family, but the old man minds his own business, got nothing to do him. they're nice enough, despite their silence, full of energy and happy smiles and sometimes he gives them more food than what theyve paid for. then one day the old man realises its been a while since he's seen them, years maybe. he hopes they're going okay, knowing theyve probably just moved on somewhere else

one day, the village gets a visitor that has everyone up in arms. some sort of celebrity, some fighter. the old man doesn't really pay it any mind. the visitor, a hedgehog, blue, shows up at his stand and orders two dogs, and he serves him like anyone else, exchanging small talk like he does with everyone, but theres something ringing in the back of his mind. theres something about the visitors smile thats familiar. its not until the visitor is walking away, walking off into the crowd and then handing off the second dog to another visitor, a fox - oh. oh, thats why hes so familar. that's where those two kids went

tails is still a kid so i like to imagine his developing predator instincts lead him to hunt sonic for sport sometimes, like what kittens do with their mothers. like sonic will go to the workshop to see what tails is up to and as soon as he walks in the door he's been tackled to the floor. or when they were first together on westside island sonic had to teach himself to override his "curl up and stab whatever is attacking you" instincts because the kid following him around had a tendency to jump him at random
