A horrible curse has befallen on the prince, turning him into a monster whose gaze can turn you to stone. The King and Queen had imprison him until they decide what would be the best solution. meanwhile, a wolf is wondering what happened to the human who would listen to her each night

Prologue

once upon a time, there was a forest

And the forest was dark and dangerous, filled with man-eating monsters and hazardous locations. it was like an eternal night even in the middle of the day. However, despite of this, there was a kingdom in the middle of the forest.

And in this kingdom, there was a curious prince.

The prince was sheltered, for he couldn't leave the castle without approval and an escort, so he immerse himself in literature. that's where he learned so many things, fairytales, history, cooking, and his favorite thing to read about is flowers.

However the more the prince read, the more he wanted to see outside the castle walls, and especially the elusive forest.

The books about the forest were… uninformative. All were written by hunters or tradesmen, and they only warned that the forest should never be explored without weapons or hire help to protect you. Nothing much about anything else.

However, there was an old cyclopedia about the plants and “animals” of the forest. The animals, which are called monsters nowadays, were called after the animals that were the most similar to them and many of the names for the plants were self-explanatory.

Despite their names, the flowers were very unordinary, flowers that can produce honey all by itself, flowers where its petals curl and spiral, flowers that could tell you your greatest fear.

None of these or any of the flowers mentioned in the book can be found in the kingdom, they only grow in the forest.

And so, the prince ask his parents, the king and queen of the kingdom, to let him go out on his own to see the forest. His parents immediately denied his request.

“Royalty should never be near somewhere as lowly as the forest,” they will say, “we have a reputation to uphold.”

The prince was a little saddened by this, but accepted this, for this was alway the answer, how royalty have a reputation.

However, the prince still wanted to go to the forest.

Until one day, the prince came up with an idea, he would leave the castle during the night.

Besides a few guards, everybody would be asleep, and no one would notice that the prince was gone.

And so, when it was time for bed, the prince went to his room and waited, looking at the window to see the lights slowly going out, one by one.

The prince then left his room and began his plan.

It was surprising easy to leave the castle, he didn’t see any guards anywhere in the castle’s halls, and the one guarding the door was sleeping. His didn’t even wake up when the door creaked open.

This lapse in security benefited the prince, because after a long time, he was outside, and for the first time, all by himself.

The prince was excited, running along the path to the forest entrance. It was clear line when the kingdom ends and the forest start. wooden buildings to tall trees. Like two different drawings attached together.

There were signs warning travelers about the dangers of leaving the paved trail and where the trail will takes and what to do if you get lost.

The prince read all of the signs carefully, but he was only going to look at the flowers, he doubted that he would be in the forest for long.

Just walked along the path and look at the flowers.

No there were no flowers, just the tall trees and bushes. So the prince looked more down the path and still nothing.

He looked and looked, but not a single flower in sight.

The prince was ready to give up and go back to the castle.

Until he heard something.

It sounded like singing.

The prince was curious about the song and started walking towards the sound.

Forgetting about the flowers

And the warnings of forest.

I took a long time, but I got it made, there are much more, but it gotten too long, so I had to cut it up into smaller pieces. I really liked the idea and a whole analyzation of the characters and setting. I’m writing more, please tell me what you think.
