To be honest. DCxDP where the reason Danny meets the bats is Ace the Bat-hound
Like, just think about it for a second. Danny is in Gotham for college, or maybe he just moved out to find a city where having mad scientist parents isn’t actually that unusual.
He can see ghosts.
The ghosts know this.
Now he’s getting harassed left and right by spirits trying to get closure. Fine, whatever, most of them are a one-and-done type deal, and the amount of ghosts trying to get his help steadily decreases.
Except for this one very stubborn dog.
It just keeps showing up and leading him to crime scenes! He doesn’t know how many “anonymous tips” he can call in to the cops before they trace his phone! And this dog, this incredibly good boy, will not stop trying to help the city. He’s never met anyone with such a strong sense of justice, let alone a dog. Can dogs even have a moral compass?
And so Danny just accepts the fact that Ace isn’t going anywhere and becomes his reluctant sidekick/dedicated medium. He leans into the whole thing, dressing up in a mix of traditional magic-user attire and accessories that pay homage to the ghost dog.
He becomes somewhat well known. The psychopomp detective following around the shadowy figure of a German Shepard? That’s unusual! That’s weird! I mean, it’s not the weirdest thing in Gotham, sure, but he’s a new vigilante and he’s got a ghost dog that people can only see when it’s around him. Someone’s gonna notice.
Damian, as Robin, is the first to reach out to him.
Ace doesn’t know Damian but he does know a Robin, and while this isn’t his Robin, he’s still friendlier than usual. Danny’s panicking because oh god the bats are here and also is this kid gonna steal my ghost dog, Damian is absolutely delighted by Ace, and Ace is just happy to see a Robin again.
Damian decides that the psychopomp isn’t a danger to anyone, and there’s no reason to put this encounter into his reports, really, and perhaps Danny can help with some of his cases in the future.
Danny is sweating bullets because Damian basically tells him that he’ll keep him secret as long as he gets to play with Ace. Ace is happy that he’s finally getting some bat affiliated crime-fighting assistance.
And so, Danny is now both Ace AND Damian’s reluctant assistant. At least whenever he’s in trouble, he can always call a middle schooler to help him.
(Is Robin even in school? He’s out patrolling damn near every night, and he stays out late as hell. Does he have a bedtime? He should.)
Eventually it gets to the point where Damian is going over to Danny’s house. When he first sees it, he has a damn bitch you live like this moment, to which Danny responds that not everyone has the money to afford a nice place. Damian counters that he could at least take the time to clean up, and Danny replies that he’s working, going to school, and being a vigilante assistant to a ghost dog, something’s got to give.
Danny nearly has a heart attack when he checks his bank account the next day and sees that someone transferred him 10,000 dollars.
And so they get into a routine. Danny and Damian fight crime with Ace at night, and occasionally Damian stops by during the day to play with Ace and have Danny help with his homework.
(Damian is smart enough to do it on his own, but some of the instructions are written incredibly confusingly, and he would never admit to needing help to his family. Danny is just glad that the kid is in school and cares about his education, blissfully unaware that he’s basically emotionally adopted him.)
Damian is used to being in Danny’s company.
Eventually, when going over a case with the family, Damian absentmindedly remarks that he’ll have to ask Danny about some of the clues that they might be missing. Nightwing asks who he means and Damian makes a face like he just swallowed a lemon.
Cue shitstorm.
Who is “Danny?” Why is Damian willing to ask for help from anyone, much less someone outside of the family? Does he know who Damian is? Has Damian been compromised? What the hell is going on?
Damian now has to explain that Danny is the psychopomp with the ghost dog who he might have met hunted down while on patrol and conveniently not mentioned, but he’s not a bad person, really, and he lets him play with Ace, and he’s been quite helpful on certain cases due to his ability to talk to ghosts.
Bruce insists that the family meet Danny. Damian, hoping that he won’t just skip town the second he hears the news, relents.
Danny is surprisingly eager to meet the bats, considering his earlier fears.
Damian, blissfully unaware of what’s coming, sets a time and place to meet.
Once everyone is there, he gives Bruce the earful of a lifetime.
Robin is in middle school! Danny knows that there’s no way to stop the boy from going on patrol, but you could at least shift his schedule so he gets enough sleep on school nights! Does the Bat even know where he is half the time?! (No) And why isn’t he comfortable asking his family for help with both cases and homework? Did they ever even notice how much time he was spending at Danny’s house? If Danny was a bad person, he could have seriously hurt the poor boy! Shame on you!
Nightwing is mortified that Damian didn’t trust him enough to tell him about any of this. Red Hood is laughing his ass off, because yeah Danny is making good points but he’s also chewing out the literal Batman. Tim is recording the whole thing. Steph is delighted by the absolute gall of this Danger Twink™️, and already planning to add him to several groupchats. Damian is more embarrassed than he’s ever been in his entire life.
You, he points to Nightwing, did your academic life feel supported when you were a Robin? Nightwing is too stunned to speak. Red Hood, eternal shit-stirrer, says that oh, we all prioritized patrol over our education, that’s just how it is. Red Robin actually dropped out of high school to avoid distractions, did you know that?
Danny honest-to-god shrieks at this.
He finishes his angry rant and leaves, everyone too stunned to stop him.
And as it turns out, Tim wasn’t the only person recording the whole thing.
The entire internet is blowing up with Psychopomp The Danger Twink™️’s rant. People are taking sides. Things are getting messy. Red Hood literally admitting on-camera to previously being a Robin is somehow not the main focus here.
Eventually someone connects some dots from the video, as well as stories circling the internet about the psychopomp. A ghost dog named Ace, who is the literal only reason that the psychopomp is fighting crime at all, which seems incredibly fond of Nightwing and Robin.
A crime-fighting dog who wants constant attention from both the current and original Robin.
Oh my god, Ace the Bat-hound died and became a crime-fighting ghost.
And, somehow, that’s still not the strangest thing going on in Gotham.
Why would Clockwork de-age Danny and then just leave him in Gotham for Batman to steal? No, he'd raise that boy himself. Fuck letting others get their grubby mitts on his new son. He wants to make sure he doesn't turn evil like Dan and this is the only way he knows it will work 100%.
That is until someone summons the ancient of time and gets a baby because the portal was a little to the left.
Now Clockwork is sending ghosts to go retrieve the boy since he can't leave the realms.

Summary: Damian gets temp de-aged to 6yrs old; cue him asking where his twin is. This is how everyone finds out about Danny's existence. Word Count: 1936
Everyone is still on edge from learning that Jason had been taken as well. After a bit of investigating though it seems Jason was actually taken a couple days before any of them knew anything. Which was an even bigger hit to his Father's already cracking emotional state. Especially since a day has already passed, and no helpful information about where Jason or Danyal are being kept has been found.
Damian luckily doesn't have to be subject to it as Bruce is currently at the Watchtower having an emergency meeting regarding the GIW and the Anti-Ecto Acts. He had originally demanded that he be included in the discussion, but was quickly persuaded against it when given the task of investigating Danyal's friends and family.
In hopes of figuring out why the GIW actually took Danyal. His friends have given them something to work with, but now they need to figure out the true story.
So now he is here sitting in the cave with Tim, Steph, Cass, and Dick going over what everyone has found so far. Duke is of course out doing his normal patrol, and keeping an eye out for any movement from the GIW.
“Danyal’s adoptive parents, Jack and Madeline Fenton, are ecto-scientists, inventors, and self-proclaimed ghost hunters. Their lives practically revolve around knowing everything ‘ghosts’ including how to get rid of them.” Damian is quick to start the conversation once everyone is settled. “Which does include Danyal based on his so-called ecto-levels.”
“Do you think they could have done something to him on purpose; in the name of science and all that?" Steph immediately asks. The thought had crossed Damian's mind as well the more he read about the two.
"Does that seem like something they would do? Making their son into the very thing they're hunting? What would be the point?" Dick counters with his own questions. A scowl on his face, clearly getting angry at the prospect, "To study him?"
“We’ve dealt with crazier and worse people before. With everything you know, do you really doubt that some parents would do something like that? It would give them the chance to monitor him through every stage of his transformation.” Tim has disgust on his face as he thinks about just how likely a situation like that would be.
"The two said it was one of the parent’s experiments that caused his ecto-levels to rise." Cass reminds them all of Sam and Tucker's words. "That part was true."
"Then what parts were lies?" Steph questions.
"Alone."
"Which doesn't disprove the theory that it was done on purpose." Dick says disappointedly at the fact.
Steph cuts in immediately after him, "All this theory talks when it seems like his friends have all the answers, why aren't we just questioning them more about this?"
"Bruce, banned everyone from approaching them without him present." Tim flatley replies.
Damian still couldn't believe his Father had done that; his anger towards that man only seems to be rising every day. He knows he could have gotten the answer they need from the two without any trouble.
Batman went easy on them during that interrogation, and they all know it.
“Let’s go ahead and move on to a different talking point than.” Dick not so subtly redirects them to a different talking point. Knowing that if it continued Damian would not be able to hold himself back from interrogating them despite the order not to. “Does anyone else have any information they want to share?”
“Phantom, he’s a ghost hero that protects the town from other ghost’s attacks. The Fenton’s of course label him a menace, and have been attacking him since his first known appearance.” Tim announces as he pulls up a blurry photo of Phantom up on screen.
While the image is distorted it is clear to see that the hero wears a black suit, and has pure white hair. What’s strange though is that Damian thinks the blurry figure almost looks familiar in a weird way. Like he’s seen it before.
“So all ghosts can distort cameras then?” Steph stares curiously at the image.
“Jason doesn’t do that though.” Cass notes, “Maybe the ecto-levels affect the cameras?”
“Which means Danyal’s levels are high enough to affect them.” Damian hates the implications of that. He doesn’t even want to think about what that could mean for Danyal’s health. If he loses his brother once more because of it, it might just break him.
It would be cruel of the universe to give him the chance to have his twin back in life only for it to take him once again.
Dick, who is always somehow aware of how he is feeling, looks towards him with worry. “Hey Dami, would you mind talking to me for a few minutes in the med bay area?”
“Of course,” He knows that it is no use arguing right now, and honestly Damian isn’t sure he has the strength to right now,”lead the way, Richard.”
The two stand and Dick waves off the others concerned glances. “You guys continue this; we’ll be back in a bit!”
Silently, he follows Dick into the med bay watching as he closes the door behind them, efficiently separating them from the others.
While sitting down on the cot Dick pats the spot on the bed beside him; a quiet offer to sit next to him. Damian almost refuses on principle, and probably would have in any other situation. Ever since finding Danyal in Gotham Damian has found himself not acting like himself. He hates that he’s having these emotional outbursts.
“Baby bat, I know everything has been crazy around here with everyone focusing on finding Danyal and Jason, but how are you feeling right now? How do you feel about … reuniting with Danyal?” Dick keeps his tone gentle and soft as he speaks.
“Reuniting? I would be foolish to hope for that to describe what my meeting with Danyal will be like. At best it will be a brief acknowledgement of one another, and at worst a conflict.”
“I’m sure that’s not true, Damian. It’ll definitely take some time for both of you, but I believe in the end you’ll both be able to heal from this together.”
"Time is not always enough, sometimes you have to amputate to heal." He angrily retorts despite knowing that Dick is only trying to comfort him right now. "If that means by the end of this Danyal needs to never see me again then so be it. Just knowing that he is alive and well will have to be enough.”
Dick sighs sadly and tucks him into his side; he allows it for now. “I will follow your lead when it comes to Danyal, but I do want you to know that it’s ok to want a relationship with your twin. Talk to him, show him that this is something you’re willing to try and rebuild.”
Damian doesn’t say anything in response right away to that. He wants to believe everything will work out, but he knows the truth. While his twin was considered the kinder of the two it does not mean that Danyal wasn’t just as stubborn when it came to holding a grudge. Forgiveness might not be something Danyal will ever bestow upon him.
“I- I will try.”
“That’s all you can do, kiddo.”
No words are spoken after that; just the two sitting in comfortable silence. Eventually though they do stand to make their way back to the others. There is much that still needs to be discussed after all before patrol tonight.
Walking back into the main area Damian expects to find everyone in the middle of a discussion. What he finds instead is the three of them completely silent as they look at three images displayed side by side. The first is of Danyal outside of the planetarium, the second being a still shot of when Danyal was taken, and the other an image of Phantom.
The others notice their approach, and share nervous glances with one another. Just before he can question what has them all in a twist Damian finally notices the differences and similarities between all the images.
Despite all the shots being blurry it is clear to see that Danyal, outside the planetarium, and Danyal, being taken out of the alley, have very big differences. Absolutely none of the colors are matching up together. The biggest outlier being the stark white that does in fact match up with Phantom though.
The flash of green from the alley. They had all assumed that it must have come from one of the weapons the GIW agents were carrying, but could it have been something different?
Could- could Danyal be Phantom?
That wouldn't make any sense though Damian thinks to himself, and yet the more he stares at the screen the more he thinks it must be so.
His father's orders be damned, he's going to go to Sam and Tucker, and get his answers. Which is exactly what he planned to do until he turned around and saw his father, still standing near the Zeta tube, analyzing the three images himself.
Based on the frown growing on his face he'd guess that his Father has also come to the same conclusion as him.
"Father, I demand we go to Manson and Foley for proper answers now!"
Instead of answering him though Bruce looks towards Tim, "Report."
"Upon looking into the Amity Park hero, Phantom, we came across a blog by Wes Weston who claims that the hero is actually Daniel Fenton. Investigating this further we started to review all the footage of Danyal that we have." Tim gestures towards the screen. "That is when we noticed the color change from when he enters and exits the alley."
"The blog, how much of their evidence holds true."
"It's been sent to Babs, and is being investigated as we speak."
"Hm." Finally, Bruce looks towards him. "Patrol starts in an hour, we'll go to them later tonight. For now let's-"
Bruce would have continued to speak, but an incoming comms call from Signal takes over the batcomputer. Immediately taking action Cass answers the call, and opens up his cowl cam as he speaks. "GIW van spotted! In pursuit from the rooftops."
Once the cameras live footage they all watch as Signal jumps from rooftop to rooftop as he follows the vehicle driving below. Based on the building Damian would guess that he was on the edge of Crime Alley.
"Signal continue pursuit, but don't approach." Batman orders.
"Copy."
After another twenty minutes or so the van finally enters the empty parking lot for a frankly plain looking building. Damian would have thought an organization like this would be more showy. Which means that it was a deliberate choice to keep things hidden in plain sight.
With the van now fully parked in front of the building doors Tim takes control of the camera, and zooms in. Even getting one confirmed identity of someone who works here could unlock them all.
Two individuals dressed in white spet out of the driver and passenger seat. Their faces are clear on display.
Then the back doors open as well; two individuals.
A man and woman dressed in orange; with smiling, happy faces.
Jack and Madeline Fenton. His brother’s adoptive parents.
As Damian watches them both freely enter the building he knows one thing for sure. Danyal being taken was no accident, and he’d bet that his twin’s so-called friends Manson and Foley are involved somehow as well.
He’s taking them all down.
Back again with Danny being adopted by other batfam members.
But this time I thought of the absolute comedy of Damian, tiny squirt and five apples tall, deciding that he is now a father to a grown ass teenage Danny.
It was an accident and had never been his intention to adopt another being.
But it had been placed into Damian’s head that in order to be a potential Batman he had to have his own Robin. And the only way to have his own Robin was to have a child, similar to the way that Father would pick up the various children and teenagers amongst them.
Damain had a very specific list of requirements for his potential child-Robin. Danny did not meet any of those requirements, and yet here Damian was having forged papers for the now Daniel Al Ghul-Wayne, and beginning the treacherous affair of introducing his son to the family.
Danny twisted his new shirt sleeve with a frown. It was a nice green silk that complimented the little green that resided in his son’s eyes. Damian wished to bring out the many carefully crafted features of Danny that could match to Damian. Having his eyes pop, wild hair brushed and losing the battle to nervous hands, would have to do.
At least until Damian taught Danny his mother tongue and began the care of his culture and soon to be heritage.
DP x DC prompt:
A youtube channel called Spooky Gotham, secretly run by Danny as a fun little hobby.
The channel heavily features cutesy sheet ghosts and cartoon bats in the thumbnails, but the videos themselves display how fucking unnerving a city like Gotham is.
The most viewed video is recorded on a smartphone, and is about eighteen minutes long. It shows an utterly abandoned downtown city street, completely silent except for the distant sound of sirens, a slight wind buffeting the phone's mic, and an automated voice repeating that the city is under total lockdown due to an Arkham breakout.
It's unclear if the video takes place at night, or if it's just that dark downtown due to the abundance of skyscrapers and smog. Most of the street lamps are out, but some illuminate empty cars with their doors still open, shopping bags full of crushed purchases left behind by their owners, and the occasional abandoned shoe.
There are bullet casings in the gutters, and the person recording the video pauses long enough to focus on a batarang partially embedded in a brick wall, suggesting a violent conflict ended not too long before the start of the video. Despite this, there is very little actual damage to the street or store fronts.
Despite the low level of other sounds in the video, and that the person recording is walking through a street full of clutter, there are no footsteps heard the entire time. It ends with a muffled "Oh shit," and the camera focusing on the distant shape of a figure in black and red emerging from the mouth of an alleyway.
Other videos are shorter.
Two minutes of footage in a dark alley, the focus a pair of featureless white eyes peering down at the camera, as though from atop a wall.
Five minutes of indistinct shapes moving through a glowing green mist, overlaid with the sound of a gas mask hissing.
Nine minutes of the person holding the camera surrounded by a crush of people, everyone moving hurriedly but wordlessly in the same direction, and an automated voice blaring directions in the background. It is interrupted by the occasional dull thund of distant exposions.
Four minutes of what looks to be the back of a green woman with red hair screaming wordlessly at someone off camera, roots and vines lashing at the surrounding buildings, and then suddenly dropping to the ground.
Twenty two seconds of the camera panning over the city from high above, fires silently raging in the streets, with a text overlay reading "Audio removed due to sensitive content."
Behind the scenes, Danny is rather proud of catching these moments on film! He has a lot more of the local vigilantes confronting him for entering dangerous areas, goons shooting at him, and shocked supervillains, but most of those aren't really "spooky," more "humiliating for getting spotted again." His biggest viewers are his friends and family back in Amity, and he really doesn't need to give them the idea that he's getting into trouble with the locals.
The rest of his viewers are other "horror" youtubers looking for inspiration, urbex enthusiasts, and what he suspects are the private accounts of the Bats.
He knows at least one of his viewers is Jonathan "The Scarecrow" Crane. The guy isn't subtle, and swings wildly between berating Danny for his silly aesthetic choices (the aforementioned sheet ghosts and cartoon bats), and praising him for the cognitive dissonance it causes. Talk about mixed messages...

He has...a strange request.
He's nervous, flustered, fading in and out of the visible spectrum. It's clear that what he's about to ask of her is important to him, and even though she has an uncomfortable voice in the back of her head telling her this young hero is about to ask her out, she resolves to listen before she jumps to conclusions.
She's glad she did.
"Can...can you put a grave for me in Themyscira? I know it's just for women, but it's the safest place I can think of for it! I just...I don't have a grave, and Clockwork says it's starting to stunt my growth as a Ghost, and I have too many enemies on American soil, so. It's okay if you say no, though, I'll figure something out, it's fine."
Diana lets him ramble to the end, already knowing what her answer is going to be.
"We would be honored to host your grave, Phantom. Do you have any remains I can take home? Do you require a funeral service?"
Phantom looks...he looks beyond grateful. Close to tears.
"No, no remains. A symbolic grave is fine, it just. It has to have my real name on it, my mortal one." He says, looking hesitant. "Please don't reach out to my family, Wonder Woman. They don't know."
With that, he hands over a small slip of paper, torn from a notebook and clearly folded one too many times.
She takes it as though he were entrusting her with the rarest diamond in the world. She wants to, but she does not ask how they could not notice the death of someone so very bright.
Instead she nods, tucking the paper away.
Phantom will get a grand grave, one worthy of a friend to the Crown of Themyscira. She will ensure it.
If you had told Danny that joining the justice league would mean getting up at the ass crack of dawn to go to some stupid meeting, he never would have joined. Well that not fully true but he might have agreed to have a Zata tube installed in Amity. Even with how much he hates those things it still seems like a better idea now that he is flying through space trying to catch up with this stupid satellite. He was already late thanks to Skulker, which means he missed his perfectly times window to catch the watchtower in orbit so now he’s here playing catch up.
He didn’t even bother to slow down from his Mach 20 pace when he reached it. Just turned intangible and shot through the window into the meeting room. He was expecting to get scolded for being late. Or for his dramatic entrance but he was not expecting the other members to not notice him at all on account of them arguing.
Taking the golden opportunity to get out of a scolding, (he did not want to be the victim of another bat glare) he kept he’s mouth shut and floated down to Hal. Who seemed to be sulking off to the side of the fight. “Dude, what’s gonna on?”
“Batman,” the name was spat like a curse. “Had plans on how to take us all out.” Hal waved to the screen before him, inviting Danny to look.
“Really?” He floated to the screen, seeing files with each leaguer’s name. After a moment of hesitation, he clicked on his own.
“Yeah! Can you fucking believe this?” Hal growled out. “He planned on how to kill us all and is now acting like we’re the unreasonable ones.” Danny would normally be shaken by Hal’s anger. The guy so rarely got truly anger that it startled Danny every time. In that moment however he couldn’t bring his attention way from the screen. It was a decent plan. Risky, unlikely to work but decent. The fact Batman did this at all though. “You think you know a guy, right? Phantom?” Hal asked when he saw the ghost wasn’t responding to him.
Before he could continue his questioning Phantom shot off across the room. All leaguers that could keep up with the ghost speed braces from a fight when they saw him heading straight for Batman. They were anger with him yeah but they didn’t want him dead. They all knew Phantom was physically capable of doing that and had only seen him fly this fast in battle.
Their concern turned to confusion however when Danny stopped dead still just before the dark knight. Looking the man over before reaching to the side, Danny’s hand disappearing into a green vortex that appeared out of thin air. When he pulled back, a small metal box, no bigger than a watch box, laid in his hand as he presented it to Batman.
“This is a blood blossom.” The soft words cut through the tense silence. “It is one of, no it is the only thing that can kill me. For good.” Batman looked at the box, then at the boy. Determination sat on his brows despite the tired sadness that coloured his eyes. “If I…” His eyes broke away from the white lenses. “If I go bad. Please. I understand you don’t want to kill. So please, give this to someone who will kill me.”
No one moved for a moment as they processed the request. Emotions shifting wildly in them all. Superman’s landing on anger. “Why would you give him that?!” He stepped forward. “He already plans to kill us all why would you give him that?!”
“Because I’ve seen that future.” The conference was stated plainly. Melancholy waiting down on the boy as he turn to the others. “The realms are different than here.” His trembled. “Time works differently. You can walk into tomorrow and run into yesterday. Every possibly future exists within the realms.”
He scanned each heroes face as his voice harden. “I’ve seen what happens. I know what happens if I turn.” Danny took a deep breath as he met superman’s eyes. Gazing at him with eyes that saw more than what was in front of him. “I killed you first Clark.” It was stated as fact. Non of them could bring themselves to doubt him. “Then Diana. Then Hal. One by one each one of you were killed… by me.”
His breath came out frosted, his emotions making it hard to keep from freezing the watchtower as he turned back to Batman. “You survived the longest. Out of everyone here you got the closest to stopping me. In that reality however, you didn’t know about ghost. Didn’t know how to fight me.” He held out the box again. “Please, I can’t let that future happen.”
Everyone was stunned. Watching in silent shock as the horror of what Phantom said sunk in. Batman recovers quickest, slowly reaching out to grab that box which he now identified as being made of lead.
“Thank you Phantom.” There was more to those words than what it may appear. A silent reassess that the ghost picked up on.
Danny in Central City,,, hot single dad Danny (de-aged Ellie and Dante) and Wally bumping into him and being absolutely enamored. I am so normal and average and normal about them.
Wally: He's smart, cute, and funny, and he's good with his kids. I just- I can't do anything in front of him without tripping over my own two feet!
Dick: Have you considered - and this is gonna sound crazy - asking him out on a date.
Wally who's usually confident when it comes to flirting because he knows what he's got, but Danny just makes him Feel Things. Warm and tingly and a million butterflies all at once. After every interaction he's kicking himself cause he's can't seem to stop stumbling over his words and c'mon get a grip West!
Also Ellie is 100% trying to play matchmaker meanwhile Dante is the biggest hater out there. He's going to make Wally WORK for the right to date Danny.
Sorry for the late post, holidays have been busy this year. Anyway, enjoy my newest dpxdc prompt!
The kryptonite didn’t work.
Batman is now running on… limited options.
Superman had been possessed again, but this time with an unknown. He is exhibiting signs of extreme degradation at this point, after the several hours of fighting. Justice League Dark have been unsuccessful with any long ranged spells, and whatever it is controlling Superman has not allowed them to get close.
The Flash is down, as is Wonder Woman. The remaining Supers started showing the effects of Kryptonite whenever they got in a radius of Superman, so they have been put on civilian rescue.
Things… are looking grim.
Suddenly, a black blur flies and slams into Superman, then straightens up to reveal a young, white haired teen, floating above Superman in a crater.
“Ya’ll are REALLY trying to make me look like a villain, aren’t yah?”
. . .
The fight lasts for thirty minutes, while the young hero(?) seems to stall him, keeping the fight within a one-mile radius, lessening the damage to the city. Well, as much as he can, at this point.
“Got it!” He yells suddenly, grabbing and throwing Superman to two other teenagers and… a dream catcher? A glowing green dream catcher.
Superman tumbles through it, and a green blobbed-shaped entity lifts off of him, and is immediately vacuumed into- a soup thermos, why not- by one of the other teenagers.
Just.
what?
Ok, I need you to elaborate more about The Menace! Danny's Hero Persona cause I can understand if he's too nice (almost like Nightwing but more doting than funny) or if he's the "normal" one (he comes, beats you but hey! He isn't as violent like the rest so he's the best option)
I'm picturing him in his hero persona petting strays and openly talking about mental health
He's the kind of hero who stays behind after the fights, passing around assistance forms for insurance claims. He makes sure to get the information on the damaged properties so that he can later reimburse or fix them himself.
People took notice, and wherever there is a big fight, it's relatively common to see online postings of "Hey anyone that can help, Phantom is at Adress XXX trying to put in a roof! Gardeners too, for the lawns damage by car. I'll bring my grill and some stakes!" and people just....show up to help??? Turn it into a blog party???
Help each other??? Remember the good times.
Phantom always beams at them, which is just as rewarding. He also helps with several fundraisers. Like he'll stop his patrol to buy Girl Scout cookies, go to school bake sales, get involved in cleaning up parks, visit people in hospitals, and find warm shelter for anyone he comes across.
Phantom also never posts things himself. It's always one of his fans because he thinks that good things should be done without aiming for fame.
No one really knows when or where Phantom will pop up. After being Batman's star, since he glows and is a ray of hope, Phantom slowly developed his own time and rhythm, appeasing both Day and Night crimes.
He still beats the criminals up and cracks jokes as he does it. It's not like Flash, who can de-escalate situations, but more of mutual respect. He also teaches free self-defense classes and walks anyone who's scared at night home (Sometimes people try to trap him for this, but most of the time he has escorted young women and men home).
Phantom has also placed emergency buttons around the city, after clearing it with the mayor. People push them to let each other know that something is wrong, and to send an SOS to Phantom. He will pop in to check on you, even if it's just a street kid asking for homework help.
He's literally an angel without wings......and then there's Danny Fenton-Wayne, who's setting shit on fire while throwing in home-made dolls of his classmates and pointing at people to growl "The spirits want you".
Jason barely remembered getting back to his safe house or even finding his way to bed. The night had been so tiring, so busy, and so many parts of his body hurt.
The moment his head hit the pillow, he was out like a light. Drifting off into dreamland for some much need sleep.
That was until a noise stirred him up from his sleep. It was a soft creak of one of his many loose floorboards.
It was in a flash that Jason was up, eyes still heavy with sleep, and a gun held to his thigh as he exited his bedroom. The soft light coming from his bathroom was the first hint.
When he pushed open the bathroom door, the sight before him had him holstering his weapon. Black hair, blue eyes, and blood. That's all Jason needed to see.
Jason would swear he wasn't still half asleep, that he knew this wasn't one of his brothers. In reality, still sluggish from a hard night and sleep deprivation, Jasin's brain had automatically assumed it was one of his baby brothers.
As he immediately settled into patching up the wounds, holding back questions for now. It wouldn't be the first time one of them came to him for aid when they didn't want Bruce to know they were hurt yet.
It was pure muscle memory as Jason worked. Yes, he didn't like the injuries, reminding himself to ask which rogue did this in the morning.
Now wasn't the time for an interrogation. Not with the barely concealed tears in those eyes, or the dark bags that decorated beneath them.
He barely grumbled for the teen to take the couch, reminding that there were extra blankets in the hallway closet. Dropping a few pills into the boy's hand to help with the pain he was surely in.
Jason left the mess in the bathroom, leaving it a problem for more awake him. He waved the boy off when he tried to speak, telling him they'll talk in the morning.
In the end, Jason was glad to finally face plant back into his bed. Barely bothering to curl up under the covers before sleep took over once again.
When morning came, Jason almost forgot about letting one of his brother's crash in his place. Stumbling out of his bedroom to immediately notice the lump on his couch.
He put a pot of coffee on, grabbing his phone, ready to let Bruce know that whoever came to him last night was safe and sound.
Except, when Jason moved over to confirm who it was, he finally noticed. This wasn't one of his brothers. And last he heard, Bruce hadn't taken in any new strays.
Jason stood over the sleeping boy, phone in one hand, and mind figuring out what to do. His mind replaying the half-asleep memories from last night.
It made sense, now that he thought about it. The boy had seemed so scared, so surprised that Jason was helping. The boy hadn't done anything either by the looks of it.
He didn't seem to have taken anything or even snooped. The boy seemed to have just crashed on the couch like Jason had told him to. He didn't come here to rob him or cause trouble. The kid had broken into his safe house only to raid his first aid kit.
The kid had broken into his safe house only to raid his first aid kit.
Well, Jason wasn't about to put Alfred's teachings to shame by being a horrible host either.
