Uther: You gave my wife’s sigil to a servant?!
Arthur: Ah, but he’s my favourite servant :D
It works!
He's able to run from them, and goes as far as New Jersey. The plan was to stow away on a ship, and go to literally any country that wasn't America. He goes to Gotham, which hosts the one harbor he knows where no one will ask any questions.
But because of how weird he acted (completely emotionless during a Joker attack), he was fingered by police immediately.
He's handed over to CPP. CPP doesn't know what to do with a teen literally so traumatized that they don't show any emotion at all, ever. He keeps just...walking out of his placements. Just leaves without a sound.
Luckily, he's always caught, due to those placement houses having quiet alarms and him refusing to run.
They call the one foster parent they know who does.
Bruce Wayne takes in the strange, nameless kid who refuses to talk.
On paper, they gave him the filler name of 'John Doe', for lack of anything better to do.
Bruce does everything he can to make the newest arrival feel at home. Damian, for as territorial as he is, actually breaks out of his shell sooner than expected just to try to get the new kid to speak. To emote. To do something. Duke tries the open approach, then tries the 'no one will ever know, everyone thinks I'm an innocent goody-two-shoes' approach. Nada.
Tim even tries to trick him into talking, but nothing works.
Enter Dick; Dick heard about Bruce's new ward, about the situation, and decided to see if he could get the kid to open up.
Danny though. Danny's in trouble.
The Wayne Manor is weirdly secure, and he can't just walk away like he did his other placements. He can't use ghost powers or the GIW and his parents will immediately know where he is.
He really, really wants to take Bruce up on his offer and just spend the day relaxing. Respond to Damian's attempts to provoke him. Overshare about space facts with Tim.
But most of all, he really, desperately wants to get in a Pun Competition with Dick. He wants to laugh at Dick's jokes, and learn coolass gymnastic tricks!
But he can't!
If he relaxes with Bruce, he'll be content, which is an emotion. If he argues with Damian, he'll get annoyed, which is an emotion. If he sneaks out with Duke and breaks the rules, he'll get happy, which, again, emotion. If he overshares with Tim, he'll get excited, which is, yet again, an emotion!
The worst sin of all, he can't even show proper appreciation of the food the Butler keeps making him!
And now there's even more people coming over!
There's a quiet girl who keeps reading his body language and trying to get him to dance ballet, a blonde girl who keeps trying to kidnap him to take him to BatBurger, a guy with a stripe of white who wants to take him to a shooting range, and it just...he really, really wants to!
He wants to do all these cool things with them!
But he fucking can't!
Crack fic prompt go!
Danny is in Gotham for *insert generic reasons* He quickly discovers that red Hood is in fact a halfa like him. He also comes to the correct conclusion that Red Hood doesn't know he's a halfa yet.
Danny decides to help in a completely reasonable way....
By hiding away and making chirping noises at him from the shadows!
It's basically like
Danny from the rooftops: *chirp*
Red Hood: *chirps back* What the fuck!
It goes on like this for days! Red Hood is very confused because, baby ghostling??? Where is baby? He hears Danny's chirps and immediately his core latches on to him claiming Danny as his kid.
Danny doesn't know Jason basically parentally imprinted he just thinks it's funny how confused Red Hood gets when he does it. At least he thought it was funny until Red Hood started searching rather violently whenever he did it.
Danny leaves Gotham for *insert plot convenient reason* Jason is distraught and still very confused. He begins searching thoroughly through everything for even a hint of what happened to his kid.
When his family inevitably asks what the hell he's doing we get a scene like this
Redhood: *sighs* I miss my kid Nightwing,
Nightwing: ??!!???
Redhood tearing up: I miss him a lot
Redhood on his way to Amity park: I'll be back
DcxDp idea. Lil plot bunny.
Talia is on a mission in Illinois when she finds a kid holding his own against a large group of much older guys with guns.
She can tell the kid isn’t trained but has great potential, but that’s not all she spots. The kid bares a sticking resemblance to her beloved and her very own son.
So she takes what is going to be hers. Better than the kid dying here and wasting that potential. Plus her own son(I’m thinking Dami is about the same age as Danny here) needs more social interaction.
This leads to her just snatching this kid, taking him home with her and raising him just as she would Damien.
Idk just can’t stop thinking about Talia looking at a little baby Danny fighting GIW and thinking that he is meant to be hers.
dp x dc au in which everyone comes to the conclusion that Danny-Phantom to be specific-is a Tamaranean. Like, he has green eyes, fire-like hair, can shoot green beams, fly, maybe has a similar skin complexion, like everything’s there for someone to think that Phantom might be a Tamaranean.
For this to work, Danny wouldn’t have announced that he is in fact, a ghost(or half ghost). Like people would have to think he’s some sort of meta. Someone like one of the hero would ask, “Are you a Meta kid?” and then Danny would be like, *looks from side to side* “Yes, that, I am that.”
This would work even better if he wasn’t even from the dp universe, so he wouldn’t know jack about anything. Ever the more reason that he could possibly be an alien.
Also, if ghost speak is a thing, Danny would be asked if he was Tamaranean by Starfire-in the Tamaranean language-and no matter what would answer her perfectly in the Tamaranean language. Like it could go in three general ways, “no I’m not Tamaranean, I don’t even know what that is,” “Y-yes I am Tamaranean *nervous laughter*” “Maybe I am Tamaranean who knows :)”
But yeah that’s all I have so far for this idea.
So I love when Danny eats odd things in front of others. Like kryptonite or the one time he ate a blouse glow and spit out the core cause it got too fat and the blob ghost was a happy little guy afterwards but anyways..
I had this thought while neglecting sleep
Lex Luther points are kryptonite dagger or whatever at Danny thinking that he’s found Superman son is about to threaten Superman with his life. Superman is obviously tense and feels slightly guilty at being relieved that that is not his son, but he is gonna do everything he can to save the boy.
While this intense monologue is happening Danny just like “this knife smells really good” and just crunches into it. Big bites, leaving Lex Luther and Superman stunned.
Danny,“You got any more of this egg man?”
Lex Luther stop computing, staring at Danny eating the kryptonite in his hands like he handed him a chocolate bar.
DPxDC prompt #15
Demon Twins Fic
But!
Okay, so something I've seen floated a time or 2 from DC is that when using the Lazarus Pits to revive, a person emerges completely healed of all previous injuries or illnesses. Including scars.
Now obviously fandom often plays fast and loose with this rule, given how we like to give Jason an autopsy scar and some folks also like to make him keep the J from the Joker. But let's lean into it a bit here and make it play nice with the DP side of things.
Let's say that it's the ectoplasm, even the rancid stuff in the pits, that heals all scars except Death Scars.
So if Danny was, say, revived in the Pits by Talia before she disappeared him away to an orphanage in Illinois? The Danny that shows up in Amity Park wouldn't be covered in scars from his time in the League. He'd only have the one, the Death Scar.
Similarly, the Danny that stumbles out of the portal wouldn't have any scars from his time in Amity Park. He'd only have 2, the original Death Scar and the new Lichtenberg Death Scars.
Now I've seen it done many times where the Bats/Damian realize that Danny isn't a clone because you can't clone scars. So if Danny doesn't have those scars, and if his DNA is too messed up from the ectoplasm in him to check for any "regular cloning markers"...
Danny, fresh from an autopsy table, runs to Gotham to hide. And because of his inability to walk away from someone in danger, gets found by the Bats. Whether or not they know about Damian's twin beforehand, they are quite confident that Danny is a clone. An exceptionally good clone with nearly perfect implanted memories, but a clone nonetheless. Damian is particularly enraged about this
And poor Danny, already all sorts of fucked up from growing up Damian's lesser, then Dash's punching bag, then an experiment; in the face of Bat certainty and lacking any tangible evidence to the contrary; Danny starts to believe them.
It's always Danny getting mistaken for a Wayne, and ends up getting dragged into the bats' lives. What if instead of that though Tim gets mistaken for Danny, and now has to deal with ghost stuff.
Danny, Sam, and Tucker are in Gotham because Clockwork needs them to get something, talk to Lady Gotham, or whatever reason you want. While there though the three of them end up spilt up with plans to meet up in the alley behind a coffee shop nearby in a couple hours.
Coincidentally, that is the same time Tim likes to go and get himself some coffee from that very shop.
Sam and Tucker by this time have already arrived, and are just waiting on Danny when they see Tim walking past; whom they assume is Danny. The fact that Danny is seemingly wearing different clothes from when they last saw them doesn't even concern them at all. Their friend must have just needed a disguise for something. Obviously!
Tim takes a mental note when he hears people talking in the alley, but when a voice happily calls out to someone named "Danny" he doesn't pay it anymore mind. He has a coffee that's not going to order itself after all.
The voice calls out to this Danny person once more, and the voice is much closer to him this time. Curiosity getting the better of him he stops and looks back only for a teen around his age wearing a red hat to grab his arm. The stranger is talking at him a mile a minute as he drags them back into the alley where a goth girl is waiting. A small glowing marble sits in her hand.
To help Sam, Tucker, and Danny get back to Infinite Realms, Clockwork gave them something that would open a portal wherever they are. All they need to do is throw it onto a large surface, and a portal will appear for a few seconds; enough time for all of them to enter it.
"It's about time you show up, Danny!" The girl says while looking directly at him.
Tim doesn't even have any time to react before she is throwing the glowing marble at the brick wall, and a bright green, Lazarus green, portal opens up and he is being pushed inside of it.
Just as the portal disappears behind the three of them Danny comes rushing into the alley only to see no one there, and that immediately worries him because while Tucker might have been late as well; Sam wouldn't have been.
Meanwhile, Barbara is panicking because every single tracker and electrical device on Tim has simultaneously disconnected. She knows Tim likes to frequent a certain coffee shop at this time, and pulls up all the security cameras with the building in view.
She doesn’t like what she finds, and she assumes the blurry figure that enters and exits the alley soon after will have some more concrete answers for what happened to Tim.
Lancer could not believe his senior class won a writing competition. He is very proud of them though. The students were to write about something supernatural, the kids just wrote about a prior trip to the Infinity Realms. The prize is a tour of WE.
The most crime-ridden city in America, what a great place to win a trip. But since these kids have to deal with ghost attacks Lancer isn't concerned for his students, he is concerned for Gotham. His students are not to be taken lightly. Add to that fact, they are all armed to the teeth thanks to Danny Fenton who perfected his shrinkable weapons.
(using my idea about jewelry-style shrinkable weapons from #13)
Before the tour of WE, there are several hours for the class to kill. Lancer makes sure all their trackers are working before releasing them into the wild *cough* I mean allowing them to explore. The trackers are a cute charm individually styled to the students. Lancer needs a break... he ends up at the Iceberg Lounge.
Wes grabs his skateboard off his necklace and immediately sets off to find the Riddler, He wants to see how well he can do. A few other students go with him.
Danny since entering Gotham has been bombarded with spirits and wants to find a certain Red Hood and thank him for his services to the dead. Sam takes her electric scooter off her chatelaine and goes off to find Dr. Pamela Isley. Sam's a hardcore fangirl. Tucker goes off to find a coffee shop to hole up in and play Doom.
The A-listers go off to shop.
A fight between Danny and Skulker within the ghost zone carried them to a section that Danny wasn't familiar with. It was near a floating island that was overgrown much like Skulker's that the two of them suddenly got ambushed by a third party.
The new ghost seemed more interested in fighting Skulker than Danny, and he didn't hesitate at all to pull out a green glowing serated knife and a matching gun. Their snarling and growling was like nothing Danny had heard before and the insults were also a lot more vicious than what Danny ever heard from Skulker.
It was clear to Danny that these two hated each other.
"Whatever!" Skulker twists mid aerial dodge into Danny's direction, "This isn't over whelp, I'll have your pelt next time!" Skulker shouts before promptly flying off.
The new ghost then approaches Danny, all the while sneering at Skulker's retreating form. Talking with the new guy is... uncomfortable, Danny has to carefully navigate the conversation because it seems like the slightest thing sets him off, aka the guy's masked eyes start glowing brighter and get this smokey effect, and the belt of bullet shells he's wearing over his shoulder catches fire.
But Danny learns that the ghost goes by Ravager and that he's the son of the greatest mercenary there is, was, will be (according to him of course).
Danny also learns that Ravager finds his close combat skills to be atrocious and offensive to look at, "your hand to hand is shit. No wonder you're dead," and the next thing he knows he gets dragged towards the floating chunk of land for an impromptu cqc lesson.
Ravager shows him various fighting skills at a cleared stretch of land nearby a half demolished building that looks like it might have been a T shaped tower at one point.
In fact the whole island has the look of a post apocalyptic city, overgrown ruins of buildings everywhere.
When Danny asks, Ravager tells him it suits him just fine like this and with a name like his Danny is inclined to believe him.
Ravager is disappointed that Danny is a hero and some parts of his personality remind him of his younger brother who he rather not think about at all, other parts of Danny remind him of Robin, who he really doesn't want to think about at all.
In the end though, curiosity gets the better of him and he asks Danny if he can take a look around, see if he can find a guy named Deathstroke (very reassuring name) and report back what he's doing nowadays.
Ravager is not happy with what Danny finds out for him.
"So there was this girl and she apparently also goes by Ravager so to be honest, I'm a little confused now"
"He Fucking replaced me!!?!" flames burst out around Ravager as he shoults.
Danny tries to placate, "... okay now, maybe it's more a passing on the torch kinda thing, keeping your memory alive or something?"
"Where is that portal you've talked about, I'm gonna fucking kill him," Yeah this guy is not listening.
"Now that seems like a rash and poorly thought out thing to do, maybe instead-"
But Ravager is done listening and instead he just yoinks Danny with him in his hunt for vengeance.
Meanwhile on the other side Rose is telling Dick and Jason about a spooky white haired meta kid that popped out of nowhere, asked her if she knew where Deathstroke is at and when she attacked him he deflected all her moves as if he'd done it a thousand times before.
