Aww thank you! 🫶 I don't want to spoil too much about backstories yet, so most of these will be silly headcanons I have for him and that I made canon in my AU:

1. I like to think of Gumball as a very caring and fatherly person, and that he's quick to take care of people. He actually became friends with Marshall Lee and Fionna because of his need to take care of others. Because he and Marshall Lee are on strange terms, he's being more nurturing towards Fionna, but he doesn't try to play parent on her. Especially because she's a young adult in my AU.

2. His backstory is different from PB's, I took the freedom to change some stuff around everyone's backstories. The main difference is that he doesn't have an evil uncle/aunt who wants to lobotomize him, he has an older sibling instead. I drew them once on one of my fanarts of him as a kid but I still have to fully introduce them. Gumball was a clingy and sensitive child, but this combined with a caregiver who suddenly stopped taking care of him as much after some time and started being mean to him didn't do him any good.

3. He's taller than Fionna, Marshall Lee and Flame Prince. He's like 6'8 and I'm holding back the urge to straight up make him 7'0.

4. He doesn't feel much pain. He can lose a limb and he will barely feel it, but he can still feel body pains or headaches, though it's more like an uncomfortable feeling instead of actual pain.

5. Don't let his seemingly perfect attitude fool you, this guy does not sleep early 👉

6. He mostly listens to classical music, and I think he would really like the piano, but sometimes he'll just put on earphones and blast on some heavy music to relax. (He got it from Marshall.)

7. He plays with his hands a lot when he gets anxious. Sometimes he zones out too.

8. As you may know, I hc Gumball as Gray-aromantic. It's extremely difficult for him to feel romantically attracted to someone, and when he does, it's usually a messy feeling that he doesn't know what to do with. At the same time, he's a very affectionate person, who accidentally gives mixed signals but still.

9. He knows how to swordfight and duels with Fionna when he has time.

10. I don't know how relevant or meaningful this information is but I think that Prince Gumball and Breakfast Prince would have some kind of familial connection. Like, they would describe each other as "weird cousins who only see each other during important events", because that's how it feels like to me 😭

What I imagined if Marshall Lee and Gumball swapped species: Marshall Lee would still be a candy prince, and Gumball would be the vampire king. Royal boys wow

I think Candy Prince Marshall Lee would be pretty calmer and less chaotic than his Vampire-Demon self, kinda like Human Marshall Lee from the canon spinoff but fancier. Not being raised in hell sure does wonders to a person.

But even though he's not a troublemaker, people would be quick to assume he's doing sketchy stuff behind closed doors... And they're right but that's not the point. He'd have this unusual aura around him, which causes people to have mixed feelings about him.

I like to think he'd still have a vampire-like appearance, always dressing in black, shaping his ears and teeth to look more pointed and sharp… His kingdom would look different too. I'm thinking that he'd have something like living candy statues of Gargoyles perched over the walls of his kingdom instead of Gumball Guardians. People might get freaked out because at first glance they wouldn't know that the statues can move and then suddenly there's Gargoyles flying around their houses at night, and now they feel like they're being observed. I think Marshall would be the type to mess with stuff he shouldn't too, such as dark magic and whatnot. He's a little prince of darkness.

He's also made of marshmallow. Strawberry marshmallow.

Unlike Gumball, he “bleeds” when he gets hurt, like a strawberry jelly. You can't really tell if it's just his filling or if it's actually blood, because chances are that it's both mixed together. Sometimes the dark arts require fresh blood to be successful, and that's his way of solving it.

As for Vampire Gumball, I actually haven't put a lot of thought into him yet, so my interpretation is still a concept up to changes (⁠・⁠∀⁠・⁠)

When I think of him, I imagine a lonely and depressed king who fell from his glory after having his court and minion armies decimated. That kinda sounds like an embodiment of PG’s fears mmmmm

I think he would be less sweet than his usual self. He used to be a more authoritarian and rigid king, he doesn't tolerate reckless behavior, so sit your ass down and only seek for blood when you're actually hungry, not just because you can (he's looking at you, The Star /hj). He probably values discreet work when hunting more than outwardly imposing fear and power, for the sake of surviving longer. Some vampires don't take him as seriously as they should because of this lack of total freedom. This does not mean that he does not assert authority, however. He will smack you upside down the head if you disrespect him.

He would still have some of his original traits despite everything. He can't create life like PG can, but maybe he's still connected to it somehow. Maybe he spends more time studying humans than he kills them, paralleling PG being a nerd lol. Maybe he's kinda like the VK and likes to be around animals too, and has a fatherly streak in him.

He wasn't staked when the vampires were persecuted and no one has any idea where he is now.

Not sure how it would be if Candy Prince Marshall and Vampire King Gumball met. The vampire era would've automatically made them stand on opposite sides, with Marshall Lee looking for Gumball's footsteps and Gumball trying to stay under his radar and manage his bloodthirsty armies at the same time.

But let's say they meet when Gumball is already a fallen king and isn't as big of a threat. Marshall would try to become "allies" with him, keeping him around in case Marshall needs him and having some sort of symbiotic relationship with him, with the occasional borderline flirting on Marshall's part.

I guess Gumball wouldn't be too fond of Marshall's connection to magic and would be sketchy of his sweet-talk, at the same time he'd have a bit of a soft spot for him. “Sometimes I feel like I would have loved to have you in my court”, he might say to him.

My Ran/Jackie Headcanons Because They Live In My Head Rent Free And I Love Them:

Ran is a bit of a picky eater. This one is because he canonically prefers meat, and also projection. Lots of projection. He's the kind of fella who will die internally if he bites into something weird in his food. And he hates onions. Fuck onions.

Listen, i know Jackie bodyslammed him two or three times during the fic but he gets better when he gets older, trust me- /hj

He purrs. That's just common sense. /j

Ran purrs for a variety of reasons, either because he's hurt (cats do that!), or because he's content and comfortable, or even because he's trying to convey safety to whoever he's comforting in the room. This is just an Enderman headcanon i have in general.

Ran has either a book or notes he wrote himself on how to properly comfort people and what to do/say to them. Jackie's "thinking sessions" were one of the biggest reasons he decided to do his research.

He DOES roll in the grass, you can't fool me, Aetherman.

His love language is Acts Of Service.

He likes how makeup looks on others but can't use it himself because it feels weird on his skin. This one is because i think Enderman skin might be different from other creature's skin. It's also a bit of a projection, idk why that happens.

He's not into PDA (Public Display of Affection) and gets awkward when it comes to kissing in public. He tends to "playfully" dismiss Jackie's attempts to do so.

Ran still has several pockets in his clothes and carries several things inside them, he's always the first one to be asked if he has *insert certain thing* because someone else is needing it. Safety pins and hair clips are at the top of the list.

He can see in the dark. Terminus doesn't have a sun so I assume it doesn't have strong light sources either, so it makes sense to me.

In addition to that, there are times when he doesn't like the bright sunlight of the Overworld, especially when he wakes up and is still too tired to properly process his surroundings.

He sleeps in the most uncomfortable-looking positions ever and he's always clinging to something, or someone, while he sleeps.

Ran and Jackie have matching rings. Or necklaces. I like matching jewelry.

Ran goes to the library, this is what he gets: History, Historical fiction and Detective and Mystery.

On the other hand, this is what Jackie gets: Dystopian, YA, Self-Help and Romance and I'll stand by that.

Ran might join him to read and talk about the Romance books, which is another way to say that he'll hear Jackie slander the shit out of the story because he didn't like it.

They might also try to recreate some scenes, and the characters' expressions. The more ridiculous, the better.

Jackie purposely leaves his hair messy because he knows Ran will get annoyed and fix it for him, hence the hair clips.

Neither Ran nor Jackie can cook for shit, and when they do, they always need to have a Cook Book next to them.

Jackie pulls the "Should've killed me when you had the chance" card on Ran. Constantly. /lh

Jackie's love language is Quality Time. But he makes it seem like it's Physical Touch.

He's often the little spoon. I said what I said.

Jackie tends to swing between feeling really good when Ran looks out for him and feeling really weirded out too. It's nice to finally have someone who genuinely cares for you after your previous one came to a tragic end. But Jackie is used to having to fend for himself and be independent from a young age, so there are times when he thinks he's being a burden, or his brain just short-circuits with the attention.

"Would you still love me if i was a worm?" "Again these stupid questions, what the fuck do you want from me-"

"You're the reason why shampoo bottles have instructions." - Ran to Jackie at any opportunity given. Affectionately.

Ran occasionally visits Watson's cell. Because he needs advice. Watson highly considers sabotaging him sometimes.

Jackie is the kind of guy who would secretly do the middle finger in pictures.

Ran is the kind of guy who would notice it first and scold him for that.

Ran has several boxes of puzzle games in his room. And also monopoly. For some reason he keeps going to jail.

Not exactly a headcanon but i just can't be the only who thought of a cockatoo when Ran's spines were mentioned lmao

Ran has a notebook full of drawings and possible designs for clothes. He might use Jackie as his model once in a while.

If they had a more "specific" ship name, i think it would be either Desert Bluebells or Jackknife. Knifetrick also works, but if you wanted to know my other suggestions-
