ft. sakusa kiyoomi, tsukishima kei
you're not oblivious to the fact that kiyoomi is a very conscious person
that's one of the things you loved about him
he was hygienic and he always made sure that his health was his utmost priority
but one downside is that kiyoomi had the tendency to push people away because of his straightforwardness
you were used to it and in fact, you were one of those people he tolerated
but everyone has their bad days
and unfortunately for you, today was kiyoomi's and since you were always attached to him by the hip, he unintentionally snapped at you
what's worse is that he snapped at you the moment you confessed to him
"Omi!" you shouted happily as you entered the gymnasium, giving Komori a small wave before making your way to where Kiyoomi was sitting.
He looked at you with a frown. He wasn't wearing a mask since they were training awhile ago and only took a quick break. "Y/n, what are you doing here?"
You sat beside him making Kiyoomi grimace and slightly move away. You frowned at him, completely displeased at the action. "I just wanted to give you a visit. Plus, I have something to tell you."
You started to fiddle with your fingers nervously. You practiced your confession several times already but doing it seemed harder than you thought.
"What is it? Talk, I'm not in the right mood to socialize right now."
Out of panic, you quickly blurted out a rather loud, "I like you!" You immediately covered your mouth with your hand and stared at him wide eyed.
The other players looked at you with sympathy, knowing what's about to happen. Out of all days, you really had to confess today, when Kiyoomi was in a pissy mood after several fangirls pushed themselves against him this morning, not minding his personal space.
Kiyoomi stared at you with a serious expression before standing up. "I don't like you. Leave."
"But Omi.."
"You're irritating and you always bother me when it is clear that I don't want your company." He turned around and left you on the bench, your head casted down in humiliation.
You whispered a small sorry before running out of the gym with tears falling from your eyes.
For the next few days, you did your very best to stay away from Kiyoomi. You changed your route to school knowing that your usual route meant that you have to pass by his house. Even if you got scolded several times for being late, you did not stop.
You sat near the door so you can easily exit the room after class. You even stopped eating with Komori and Kiyoomi during breaks and lunch. Even your usual routine of visiting the gym during practices was stopped.
At first, Kiyoomi didn't mind. He knew that you'd come back in a few days just like you always did. You like him after all, right?
But when a few days turned into weeks, He started getting bothered. Why weren't you pestering him like always? Why did you stop visiting him? You said you like him, right?
It was the second week that Kiyoomi took action. He woke up extra early to wait for you infront of your house, aiming to confront you about your behavior.
When you went out, your eyes widened slightly upon seeing Kiyoomi waiting for you outside. He was wearing his face mask while staring at you intently, letting you know that he purposely waited for you.
You looked down and was about to walk pass him when you felt him tugging on your wrist. Your gaze snapped to his hand, not believing that he was indeed touching your skin.
"Sakusa?"
His eye twitched at the weirdness of you not calling him like usual. Sighing, he stepped a little closer to you, hand still holding your wrist to ensure that you won't run away from him.
"You're ignoring me," he said while eyeing you. "Why?"
You took your hand from him and furrowed your brows. "I'm just doing you a favor. I don't want to be a bother anymore. Isn't this what you wanted?"
"I-"
"It's fine, Sakusa. You don't have to force yourself to apologize just because you feel bad or obliged to."
He ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. "I'm not apologizing because I feel bad."
"Then what? You're apologizing just to make fun of me? I know I said I like you but that doesn't mean that you have the right to-"
"You don't get it!"
At this point, you were both raising your voices. Some passersby were looking at you two weirdly, some even running as to not get caught up in the fight.
"Get what, Sakusa? Why don't you tell me so I can understand?!"
"I like you!" Kiyoomi exclaimed. "I... Fuck. I like you, okay? I wasn't in the mood when you confessed and I rejected you without thinking. I messed up. The moment I saw you walk out, I knew I fucked up real bad and I-"
"Om-"
"And I thought that you'd come back the next day to bother me again like usual. I wanted to apologize but my pride-"
You sighed as he continued to ramble. With fast movements, you stood on your tiptoes and encircled your arms around his neck to pull him down to you, kissing him over his mask.
When you let go, Kiyoomi was silent. His eyes were wide and you thought that you went over board. Panic made its way to your face as you try to find the words to explain.
"Sorry, I didn't me-"
This time, he was the one to cut you off. Kiyoomi took off his mask and bent down to kiss you on your lips. One of his arms snaked around your waist to support you while the other settled on your nape, angling you to him.
"Be my s/o."
Everyone in Karasuno knew how much you like Tsukishima
In fact, you remind him everyday
You often give him fresh strawberries from the market and even bake him strawberry cake
Sometimes, you would put little sticky notes on his belongings and write some encouraging words like "you can do it", "I believe in you" or "take it easy!"
On his birthday, you even gave him a hoodie with a dino design (which he secretly loved)
There are times that you knew Tsukishima gets irritated when you visit and even snaps at you but you didn't mind. You liked him and a small snap will not discourage you
But what you didn't know was that it would only take one conversation to completely shatter your heart
"-And they're back," Sugawara said as he saw you enter the gym, a bubbly smile present on your face as usual.
"Kei!" You skipped your way towards Tsukishima and handed him his water bottle which you voluntarily refilled with hot water.
He only gave you a 'tsk' and took the water bottle. Adjusting his glasses, he stared at you from head to toe as if analyzing you, a small blush appearing on his cheeks.
"What are you looking at? Have you finally come to realize that you like me back?" you cheekily asked, poking his bicep.
"No. I was just wondering how someone could look so ugly."
Despite what he said, you forced yourself to giggle, covering your upset feeling with an eye roll. "Oh shut up, Kei. You don't have to hide it, you know? Don't worry, I'm not going to reject you."
You winked at him causing Tsukishima to blush even more.
The rest of the boys snickered and laughed at his reaction which made Tsukishima more embarrassed than he already is.
"Just confess to the girl already, Tsukishima. Can't you see she's trying hard to win you?" Daichi said with a small chuckle while patting Tsukishima's back.
Tsukishima just huffed and pushed his glasses up. "What's there to like? They're nothing but an eyesore anyway."
"What?" you asked in disbelief.
Having a playful banter with Tsukishima was normal in your routine but this was the first time he called you such an offensive term. Does he really think of you that way?
"Oh come on, stop acting dumb. I don't even get why there are guys running after you. I mean, there's really nothing much to look at, right?"
Everyone grew quiet at what he said, clearly not expecting Tsukishima to be at such level of rudeness.
You swallowed the lump forming in your throat as your insecurity skyrocketed. "I try hard every single day to look presentable to you. I-"
You paused for a moment to laugh pathetically at yourself. "I exert a lot of effort to make you notice me. I cook for you, I give you gifts. Heck, I even stay after class to help clean the gym so that the task would be easier for you and I'm not even asking for anything in return."
Tsukishima glared at you sharply that you immediately felt extremely smaller than him. "I never asked you to do those things for me."
"Can't you at least show me that you care?" You wiped your tears with the back of your hand. "Because I'm slowly getting tired of this push and pull game."
"Don't you get it? I don't like you. Why don't you stop pushing yourself to me and start getting a life, hm?"
"Tsukishima, that's enough!" you heard Daichi yell at him.
"Y/n?" Sugawara was immediately beside you, his hand rubbing circles on your back in attempt to calm you down.
"No-" You lifted your face up to meet Tsukishima's eyes. "I think he's right. I should stop being a nuisance and focus on myself."
"I'll leave you alone. I'm sorry," you said before giving Tsukishima a bow and leaving the gym with everyone's eyes following your figure until the door shut.
Everyone could only look at Tsukishima as he cursed under his breath.
"Shit."
The moment you left the gym, you headed straight to the comfort room to let your tears out. You stared at yourself on the mirror as tears cascaded down your cheeks.
"You're beautiful," you reassured yourself while pointing at your own reflection. "What he said doesn't make you any less. Know your worth."
You wiped your tears and splashed your face with cold water before getting out and heading to class without sparing Tsukishima any glance.
You ignored Tsukishima, stopped visiting the gym and focused on yourself. You even made made friends with some of your classmates that you didn't bother getting associated with last time because you were too focused on capturing the attention of Tsukishima.
Unbeknownst to you, a certain male was eyeing you as you interact with other people. He blamed himself for pushing you away. He didn't talk to you, thinking that you only wanted space for a couple days before bothering him again.
He knew that what he said was out of line and he regret everything he did. He even asked Yamaguchi and the rest of the team for advice but all of them responded with the same answer - apologize and tell you how he feels.
Tsukishima gripped the pen tightly as he watched you laughing at something your classmate said. The said classmate was too close to you and it was obvious that he was trying to flirt with you.
"Tsukki?" Yamaguchi called out. He followed Tsukishima's gaze and sighed. "Why don't you go and talk to them?"
"Tsk. Why would I do that? Can't you see they're enjoying his company?" Tsukishima bitterly said.
"You'll end up losing them if you don't do something about it now. Who knows, they might already be lo-" Yamaguchi stopped as Tsukishima instantly stood up and made his way to where you are.
Taking your wrist, he pulled you towards him, heading out of the classroom.
"Tsukishima, what the hell?!" You tried to resist but his grip on your wrist only tightened.
You gasped as he suddenly stopped, trapping you against a wall with his arms beside your head.
"I'm sorry." Tsukishima closed his eyes, balling his fist as he bowed his head. "I said hurtful words to you and no amount of apology will take those away but I want you to know that I regret every single one of it."
You bit your lower lip as you felt yourself tearing up once again. "Do you really think that I'm ugly? I was hurt, Kei. It's just.."
"I'm sorry." His hand made its way to your cheek, cupping your face while he wiped your tears with his thumb. "You're not ugly."
You shook your head and averted your gaze from him, a sob escaping your lips as you felt yourself falling for him deeper. "Don't. Just stop. I'll accept your apology but please just leave me be. I won't be able to stop my feelings for you if you keep leading me on."
"But I don't want you to stop."
"What?"
"I've fallen for you." He tipped your chin up with his hand making you look at him and you were surprised to see the vulnerability in his features. "Please look at me again, y/n. Keep loving me because I swear that I'll do things different this time. Give me a chance."
You can't help but encircle your arms around him, burrying your face on the side of his neck as you nodded repeatedly. "One chance, Kei."
Tsukishima hugged you tightly, lips pressing on the side of your head. "One chance." He leaned away from you and held your face with his hand, eyes boring to yours admiringly.
"You're beautiful."

Warnings: Brief mention of blood/assassins
The floor rumbles beneath dozens of pairs of shoes and even though it’s almost completely covered, you catch flashes of the polished wood between songs. It shimmers, reflecting back the lights of the chandelier, twinkling brightly enough to rival the stars. However beautiful and spectacular it all seemed though, you still missed spending hours alone, watching the real stars. Your work in Inginea had left you with very little time to explore; your nights usually consisted of preparing lessons and lectures deemed fitting for members of the royal family. It would be nice to spend time outdoors again, to feel the cool night air tickle your nose, making the hairs on the back of your neck rise. Then again, the next time you experienced that, you’d likely be standing on the deck of some ship that was homeward bound, carrying you far away from this place and its people. That part wasn’t so nice. In fact, it was downright depressing.
You’re jolted from your self-pity when you recognize a familiar face from across the dancefloor. You hadn’t expected to meet Iida here tonight, but you can’t say that it’s a shock to see him standing there, seeming uncharacteristically frazzled as he sidles through the mass of swirling bodies surrounding him.
It’s his posture that gives him away; no common person ever made such an effort to keep his shoulders so far back, his chin so steeply angled upward, his feet so firmly planted—like he was imitating the oaks lining the perimeter of the castle gates. No, the decorum with which this man carried himself was the sort that they only taught royalty—only taught princes. You grin and begin to shimmy your way through the crowd.
It takes more than a few gentle nudges and one less-than-subtle shove, but you eventually brave the chaos and reach him. To his credit, Iida’s disguise was spot-on. There wasn’t a sign of his family’s sigil on any of his garments. No royal blue doublet covering his chest, no moonstone pendants gracing his neck; he had obviously gone out of his way to pass himself off as common—a near-impossible feat given the fact that the man practically oozed refinement. Still, the laces of his shirt are frayed now and his britches stained. If you hadn’t known his face so well, you might’ve thought him a stablehand and not the next in line for his father’s throne.
“It’s a pleasant surprise to see you this far from the palace, sir.” You greet him, careful to avoid using his true title. Iida flinches when you address him, but then he squints and realizes it’s only you. He frowns.
“Was I really that easy to pick out of the crowd? I was certain that this time, my attire was—”
“It wasn’t your attire that betrayed you.” Had anyone from the palace witnessed the way you’d interrupted the crown prince, you might’ve received your dismissal much earlier than you intended to. Then again, others might have been wholly more apathetic towards the situation. Everyone was still rather confused when it came to the proper way of addressing each of the princes. After all, Tenya Iida was the younger of the Iida brothers. He’d been raised with the same careful care and instruction as his brother all his life, for no reason other than tradition. Because originally, Tenya wasn’t supposed to be the next king.
“To the average person, yes, you look perfectly ordinary. But me? I know you too well for that. I also don’t know a single lordling that puts so much effort into the way he stands. It was a noble effort though. Well-thought-out.”
You nod him away from the crowd with your chin, leading him towards a quieter corner of the hall. Nobody bats an eye. The common people knew of their king and queen, yes, but the royal children were another matter altogether. Tensei’s face had been woven into banners lining the wall in the days leading to his coronation, so at least a few would recognize him. Tenya had no banners, and thus, no face as far as the public was concerned. That would change soon enough, though.
It wasn’t uncommon for assassins to be sent after royalty. Enemies to the crown, families of those accused of treason, even other princes and princesses had all been historically known to hire men to “do away with” their opponents. What wasn’t common was for these killers-for-hire to make it past the palace walls—to make it to the crown prince ’s chamber, unseen. Nobody but Tensei could know for certain what occurred that fateful night, but castle gossip would have you believe a dozen versions of the same story, all with the same conclusion: an assassin lying in a pool of their own blood and a prince that was now crippled from the waist down.

“Something’s wrong.” Katsuki stated, the same way one might say ‘the sky is blue.’
“What makes you think so?” You turned around in your chair to look at your boyfriend. You gave him your most earnest smile, trying to not let happen what he was trying to do.
You had carefully constructed walls to keep your worst emotions away from people, you had to handle them yourself. You couldn’t rely on anyone else. If Katsuki ever knew how you truly thought and felt, you’d be too much, he wouldn’t be able to handle you, he wouldn’t love you, he’d leave you.
“Cut the crap. F/n told me you haven’t spoke to them in days, and you aren’t the type for that shit.” He said, studying your face for any kind of response.
When you didn’t say anything, he continued. “They said they messaged you and you didn’t respond. You always respond to everyone immediately, so something has to be wrong.”
“I’m okay ‘Suki. I’ve just… had a little extra on my plate lately, but I’m alright I swear,” you tried to assure him, even though each word was an absolute lie.
He squinted. Although impulsive, Katsuki Bakugo is not stupid. Especially not when it comes to you. He may have been a little more aggressive because he was frustrated at himself for not noticing something was off sooner, but he wanted to help you. Because he loves you, and he wants to help you the way you helped and continue to help him. He grabbed your shoulders, making eye contact with you, trying to pry the truth from your eyes.
You looked away, ashamed and not wanting to spill it all. Insecurity chipped away at you. You were positive he wouldn’t love you if he knew how bad the storm in your mind had gotten. How deep the waters were.
“No, you’re not alright, dumbass. You’ve been acting overly happy lately, but you’ve been distant. You’re good at putting on an ‘I’m fine’ face, sometimes too damn good, but your eyes are so empty,” admitting his worry for you almost made him want to tear up.
But he couldn’t, he had to get to the bottom of this. He knew, he personally knew what it was like to keep everything in, to never feel able to tell anyone, to be drowning in your own feelings, thoughts, and troubles. He knew what it was like to keep it all to yourself until you snapped, until you felt beyond repair, until it was too much and impossible to feel sane. And he wouldn’t let that happen to you.
You shook your head. “Please just drop it, Katsuki, I’m busy, I don’t have time for this,” why was he trying so hard? You had convinced yourself no one cared, no one would care.
He moved his hands from your shoulders to your face, making you look at him. “I can see that something is wrong, and I refuse to let you deal with it by yourself. You’re only going to make it worse if you don’t tell me. Please,” he said, voice nearly breaking. “Please, tell me. I hate seeing you pretend like you’re okay. We both promised to work on our communication. You’ve seen me at my lowest, and you helped me through it, you loved me when I was a moody, arrogant shitty teen. Why would your problems be any different? I promise you, I won’t judge you for it. You can’t get rid of me. So please, y/n, please. Tell me what’s wrong. Please talk to me,” he was nearly pleading at this point.
You felt your eyes well up with tears. Damn it, you had worked so hard at constructing your walls, but he was bringing them down. Why was he so good at this? You had to divert the attention away from yourself. “Oh? It seems I have the hero Dynamight begging. One would consider this an accomplishment,” you said with a forced giggle.
“Don’t give me that shit. Don’t do this to me, to yourself,” his tone was softer than you’d ever heard it before, emotion sitting in the back.
A calloused thumb stroked your cheek. It was a small, mundane, minimal act of affection, but yet it made your emotions go haywire. You looked up, meeting his gaze finally, and it broke you. He looked so genuine. A single tear fell, and that was the drop that made the dam break. The walls cracked, and cracked, and all that you had stored up, kept away carefully, came rushing down. Before you knew it, the tears wouldn’t stop flowing.
Katsuki felt odd for being happy that you were crying, but he was relieved you finally let it out. He wrapped his arms around your midsection, carefully lifting you to stand. One arm remained wrapped around you, while the other moved to hold the back of your head, carefully bringing your face to rest on his chest. Every sob chipped away at his heart. It had been months since you cried like this, and the last time you did you were alone. It was all so much, you felt as if you were going to crumble to pieces.
But Katsuki held onto you the whole time, though you fell apart he held the pieces in his arms. He didn’t tell you that it’s okay, or that you’re okay, because it’s plain to see that you aren’t, but he repetitively reassured you that he’s here, and he won’t leave. His muscular arms held you close to his heart while you cried it out. You’d been keeping it in for so long, you didn’t even realize all the things you were feeling. It hurt, and it hurt badly. Hurts, pains, stresses, all your grievings flowed like your tears.
Katsuki pressed the occasional small kiss to your head, gentle reminders that he’s with you. He was never one to be very good with words, and though he’s tried to get better at it, he hoped his shows of affection through acts would be enough to convey to you that he cares. Because he cares so much, so much he can barely contain it, he feels so angry when you feel like this, not at you, not towards you, but angry that he can’t fistfight your feelings so they go away. He began to slowly rock you while you stood, protected by his hold. Had you not been in such a sour state, you would have smiled at this action.
After what felt like quite awhile, all your tears had dried up, and your body began to feel tired. Though you were resting against him this whole time, your body relaxed more as you became more tired. All the crying you had done zapped your energy. When he recognized this, Katsuki led you to your shared bedroom where he motioned for you to sit on the bed.
“I’ll be back in a moment. Don’t do anything stupid, you hear me?” He said firmly.
You nodded. You felt so drained after your crying session, but yet a little bit lighter. You didn’t want to admit that Katsuki holding you while you let out your emotions helped, but it really did. While you were comforted by the knowledge of him reassuring you the whole time you cried, your insecurities didn’t go away. Your heart told you that you could trust him, and you knew he loves you, but your mind made you doubt. What if it was all an act? If you actually spoke your mind, vocalized your thoughts and feelings, would that be the end of it for your relationship?
“Oi, dumbass. Drink up. You’ll get dehydrated,” Katsuki’s voice broke you out of your spiraling thoughts.
You looked up, and he was handing you a glass of water. You accepted it, taking a few sips before setting it on the nightstand. The blond man took a seat next to you on the bed, slinging his arm around your shoulders, and pulling you closer to him.
“You were thinking. What is it?”
As you stated at him, tears filled your eyes again, and Katsuki carefully wiped them away with calloused fingers. “I’m just… afraid. What if you think I’m too much? What if you can’t handle my problems? I don’t want to be left, what if-“
“Hey. Cut that shit out. I won’t do any of that, and that’s a promise. When have I ever broken my promises, hm?”
You smiled faintly. “Never.”
“Exactly. Now tell me what’s going on.”
While you explained, he listened. He’d always listen, and he’d always be there. When you had finished, he gave his two cents, with a fair share of curses. You sighed contentedly. Katsuki was awkward at times, blunt, rash, and could be a little rough around the edges, but his stubbornness wasn’t always a bad thing. He never failed to show you how much he cared. His love for you was so strong it was nearly tangible, like a thread in the air you could almost reach out and grab it. No matter what you were dealing with, he would always be there. While he is a pro hero, he’s not a magician, so he wouldn’t be able to make all your problems disappear, as much as he wishes he could. Sometimes, he couldn’t do anything about the storms raging in your head, but he was there, always there, and that’s all that mattered. As long as you had him to hold you, you’d be content. He’d always be there to drag you out of your isolation, your loneliness. It wasn’t long before you fell asleep in his arms, and Katsuki would not let you go, even after he himself fell asleep. It was his way of saying “I love you.”
REUNITING WITH THEM AT THE AIRPORT — HAIKYUU.
feat — timeskip!atsumu, sakusa, bokuto, oikawa + iwaizumi.
warnings — just some very teary reunions + me overusing italics as always <3
note — crying realising i didn’t add suna into this ;-;
ఌ ATSUMU felt his feet carry him quickly towards the exit gate, towards you. his headphones flung haphazardly over his neck, messy, platinum hair hidden under a black cap and eyes still a little dark, tired— despite managing to sleep on the plane because he always slept better wrapped in you. atsumu’s grip on his suitcase loosens when he catches a glimpse of the same features he’d always wake up to as they lay smooshed against his pillow, knowing you’d rolled over to his side of the bed during the night to steal his warmth because you knew he’d always pull you closer, paired with eyes that always held the kind of tenderness that he never thought he even deserved, but you taught him he did. so he isn’t ashamed when he feels his gaze turn glassy, his suitcase long forgotten on the ground behind him because when your figure finally runs into his arms, as they open to greet you, he realises this is all that matters. atsumu’s lips find yours almost instantly—eager and a little salty with tears but there’s love as his words come out a little breathless “a missed ya so much baby, did ya watch me win for ya?” he grins, his grip tightening slightly at the unwavering love in your gaze because fuck—he missed this. so miya atsumu cries because in your arms, he’s finally home.
ఌ SAKUSA sighs as he tries to control the racing of his heart— almost there, he thinks, his fingers pulling at the sleeves of his jacket, a habit you always seemed to have before he left for away games but one he picked up because it reminded him of you. he re-adjusts the bag across his chest as his eyes scan the crowd, before they land on a familiar smile that only caused his heart to race even more. his feet carry him before his mind can register the groups of bodies he’s brushing past, because kiyoomi hated crowds but he loved you, his gaze locking on your figure as you stand in a more secluded area of the airport. and a smile breaks from under his mask, for you, because he knows you did that for him. his body finally bringing him to stop infront of you as he softens, his heart rate seeming to finally slow because you were his safe haven as his hand moves to cup your cheek gently— his lips brushing against your forehead when he leans in and although covered by a mask, you smile because you still feel everything, and it was enough. your hand coming to intertwine with his as he finally finds the familiarity he’d been seeking in his months away in the “let’s go home.” that causes a warmth to bloom in his chest, as he realises that with your hand in his, he already was.
ఌ BOKUTO raises his fist cheerfully as a smile beames from his lips, hurried footsteps carrying him from the gate because all he wants right now was you—your head whipping towards the familiar sound of “baby!” that used to be your 6am ballad when he moved to begin the day, lazy kisses peppered to your cheek and a promise to work hard for you, always for you. bokuto’s body moves to you quickly, salt and pepper hair hanging loosely over his eyes, and his cheeks flushed from the heat that seemed to build in his chest at the familiar feeling of love, when his arms reached under your thighs to lift you off the ground. he allows himself to melt against the weight of your body as it presses against his, because there was a familiarity to it—it still fit just as perfectly. bokuto doesn’t notice when the first tear of the day seems to trickle down his cheek, because he still smiles as he nuzzles against your palm when your hand doesn’t hesitate to come up and wipe it, his lips moving to find yours as he groans against them—because the giggly love confessions and the teary “i missed yous” exchanged between breathless kisses, felt just like home.
ఌ OIKAWA yawns drowsily as he stretches his arms above his head, a soft smile painted on his face despite the long plane ride because he knew seeing you would make it all worth it. oikawa bites his lip as he feels tears suddenly blur his vision at the thought of finally being able to hold you again — his hotel bed having missed the familiar warmth that lulled him to sleep at night, a home filled with the familiar scent of your coffee as you hummed a random love song you’d probably both sang the night before. but then he sees it, you—home, still as beautiful as he remembers as his hand rests over his chest, just above his heart and he feels it beat for you before his arms are tightly wrapping around your figure. with a shaky “finally” under his breath, surrounded by that familiar warmth he’d craved for months when he’d lie awake hoping you were proud of him but now — when your hand brushes through his hair, his eyes meeting your own glassy ones he realises that you always are. oikawa’s hand gently rests against the back of your head to push you deeper into his chest as you both cry but he knows it’s because of love, and that’s all he’ll ever need.
ఌ IWAIZUMI groans as he feels every hour of the long journey ache and grind through his muscles, stretching his neck before rubbing the sleep from his eyes. his hands felt restless— as if longing to holding you, the idea of being wrapped in that familiar warmth causing his lips to upturn slightly, before they stretch to a grin when his eyes finally meet your figure across the gate. even years later his heart still skips a beat for you, because love with you still felt like it always had— just like it was supposed to. hajime moves like his luggage is suddenly weightless before he shrugs it off in favour of being able to hold you instead, one of his hands resting on the back of your neck, while the other wraps tightly around your waist as his lips meet your own—melting against yours and solidifying the fact that shit, he really missed this. he finally pulls away to cup your cheek before he smiles once more, his cheeks a little flushed and his eyes a little darker from lack of sleep but you still recognised the love in them, because it never faltered. hajime’s lips dip to meet yours once again, a gruff “i love you” exchanged between breathes before you feel a smile replace it, his hand intertwining with yours because home, really was you.
11:42 PM. KATSUKI BAKUGOU.
his first words after six months aren’t ‘can i come in?’ when he shows up to your doorstep unannounced. it thunders behind him, pouring rain with a vengeance only seen on movie screens. each strike of lightning lights flashes bright white against his features, illuminating already startling crimson eyes.
he looks like he hasn’t slept in months. ash blond hair matted to his forehead, dark circles hanging like stalactites—never have you seen him in a state like this, and it makes you want to shrink away, back into the comfort of your home.
you stay out anyway, and the cold nips at your socked feet almost playfully.
“why are you here?” your voice shakes him out of his stupor and he pauses, mouth open with a retort already dying on his tongue. what was he doing here? interrupting your peace away from his torment filled life with selfish wants?
how does he tell you that he hasn’t had a good night’s rest since that massive argument six months ago? that he shouldn’t have nitpicked and snapped at you because his mission failing wasn’t your fault—you were just there and suffered the brunt of his anger in your attempt to help.
how does he tell you his misses the way your hands would run through his hair, slow and practiced, as the dust and dirt from the day’s work washes down the drain? that he misses your silly songs made up from a tune he’d gotten stuck in his head, and that he can’t bear to clean up because the very thought of doing the most mundane things without you sends an unfathomable amount of ache to his chest?
that he misses having the weight of you, skin against skin, at night, where he could be just katsuki?
he can’t say any that. he can’t do that to you. you look well—better, even, after six months. your voice is soft when you ask, not even the slightest bit of hatred present at all, and he almost wants to disappear. regret courses through his veins, but he can’t find it within himself to move.
slowly, his gaze meets your once more, hands shoved into his pockets, and he lays out the barest contents of his heart then.
“i didn’t know where else to go.”

I started drawing the Ever After High girls in random historical fashion eras… why? I have no idea
Raven Queen in 1890s, Apple White in Italian Renaissance.
Briar Beauty in 1920s, Madeline Hatter in 1880s
No particularly reason for the eras, just the vibe I get from the characters and their designs!
Haikyuu - Akaashi Keiji
Imagine Y/n getting into an accident that she had to be hospitalized, but it just happened to be when Akaashi was out of town due to work. I feel like these type of situation is when you get to see Akaashi not composed. You get to see Akaashi breaking down.
When this happens, Y/n will debate whether or not she should contact and inform Akaashi about her situation, but she decided to go against it since she didn't want to bother him. Also, it wasn't like she was dying, she should be released soon. She thought it wasn't a big deal.
However, her being silent doesn't mean that Akaashi won't be informed of her situation. She forgot about that part that she was shock when her door opened with a loud bang, revealing Akaashi who was out of breath.
"Keiji...?" Y/n called out his name in shock. "What are you doing here? How about work? How did you know I was here?"
When Akaashi looked up, Y/n bit her lips and looked away from him. She saw how he was at the verge of breaking down. She didn't mean to cause him any worries. She felt fine, so she didn't contact him, but apparently that wasn't the case.
"Why...?" Akaashi mumbled as he approached her.
When y/n looked at him hesitantly, he kneeled beside her bed and held her hands tightly. "Why didn't you tell me?"
Y/n opened her mouth to speak, but she couldn't really form any words as she didn't know what to say exactly. Should she be honest? Or should she apologize first?
At her hesitation, Akaashi's grip tightened. "Am I that unreliable? Am I nothing to you?"
"No, of course not!" Y/n said in a hurry. "I... I just... I'm sorry..."
At her apology, Akaashi let out a shaky breath before speaking. "Please... Do you know how I felt when I heard from someone else that you were in an accident? The fact that I wasn't there for you as soon as you woke up, it just broke my heart..."
"I'm sorry, Keiji..." Y/n said in a low voice. "I just didn't want to bother you since you were out of town and I felt fine, so I thought it wasn't significant."
"Everything about you is significant... So please, don't keep these things from me. Tell me..." Akaashi said with pleading voice. "I want to be there for you. To be able to support you, to be someone you can rely on. I want to be your pillar."
Y/n felt her eyes turning teary at his words as she nodded. At her actions, Akaashi sighed in relief before hugging her tightly.
But I feel like this somewhat might have traumatized Akaashi that he developed the habit to video call rather than messaging her since she can just lie through text. But he will still message her even more frequently to check up on her and tries not to go out of town, making sure he was beside her. At the same time, I feel like he will take care of her even more than he used to, keeping a hawk eye on her.
i’m not that kinda guy. atsumu had told himself that. and a lot more so recently.
all of this shit was his brother, wasn’t it? showing up for a first date with flowers, meeting your parents at the door and introducing himself like he was worth something, holding your hand as though you wouldn’t let him crash and burn the second you got whatever it was you wanted from him.
he also says he’s not the type to be insecure. that may be a lie as well.
“atsumu?” you asked.
his eyes snapped up to meet yours. you tilted your head a little, confusion written on your face and in your eyes. atsumu was never this nervous looking, not unless he has a reason.
“whats wrong with you? you’ve been weird since yesterday.”
then his eyes broke away from yours and returned to the floor. he didn’t respond right away. for a moment, you wondered if you shouldn’t have asked him, but then he sighed and answered you.
“aren’t you done yet?”
“...what are you taking about, tsumu?”
“our... our relationship. no one stays this long.” he was content with living out a day dream for a while, letting himself believe he’d gotten something good.
but there’s a point when he knows he’ll he ripped apart if you leave, and he fears (rather, he knows) he’s long since passed that point. the only thing he could do now was cut the rope before it got any tighter.
“oh.” you mumble, slouching a little. he can hear the sadness in the one word and he finally looks up at you again. “if you don’t want me t-”
“hey, hey, no. never said that. but aren’t you... i don’t know, haven’t you gotten what you need from me by now?”
so thats what this is about, you thought. osamu had mentioned it before, that he was worried about you leaving.
“yes.” you say simply. you swear you can see his heart stop in his chest, see the world crash down around him just from the fear in his eyes. “but i still need it, always will. no one else is gonna love me like you do.”
you watched his eyes soften. he moved to crawl across the couch, his arms wrapping around you and his head resting on your tummy.
“i don’t think anyone can love you more than i do.”
because throwing an apple at someone's head was a sign of professing one's love in greek myth.
fluff, gn!reader, i wrote this in a blip
When you told yourself today was the day you confessed to Phainon, you weren't expecting it to turn out like this.
The very ripe, very red, very ready-to-be-consumed apple was not supposed to fly out of your grasp the way it did. It was not supposed to hit him on the head, silencing his laughter as he dumbfoundedly blinks at the item that broke him out of his giddy stupor. It was not supposed to land perfectly in his hands as he glances between your face and your snack, which has now decided to work against you.
You definitely were not supposed to just mutter a meek 'I like you', and you definitely were not supposed to turn on your heel and run away from him!
And why is he chasing after you? Can't he tell you need alone time to recover from the unfortunate series of events that just unfolded?
"Y/n, wait!" He calls, barely sounding out of breath. Your feet hit cement, grass, climb up and down flights of stairs, they don't stop as you dash through every bit of the Grove of Epiphany, all for the sole purpose of shaking Phainon off your tail.
However, it was your mistake for believing someone like him would be willing to give up, and his stamina outpaced yours by a landslide, so just what were you thinking? Running away like that in the spur of the moment?
"No!" You shout back. "Leave me be!"
"But I have something to say to you!"
"I'm sorry for throwing an apple at your head!"
"It's okay! I don't mind- just, stop running!"
"Maybe you should stop chasing me!"
"For Titan's sake-"
As you round a pillar that lead to a short staircase, Phainon had jumped over the ledge and landed by the time you descended the flight, and with a lunge, his hand had securely wrapped itself around your elbow. You had lost. Lost the chase, the fight, your dignity as you gaze up at him, your stomach stirring with unease at his imminent rejection.
There's an unreadable look in his eyes but you don't try deciphering it because you're certain you seem like a mess right now. Your face felt flushed, sweat stuck to your skin, and your hair was all over the place, and worst of all, Phainon was going to reject you while you were in this state.
Titans, please help. This was not what you intended at all.
"You're too fast," he huffs, chest heaving like yours. "You really know how to steal someone's breath away."
"If you're gonna let me down just get to it already."
"Let you down? You think I was chasing you all this way just to let you down?"
"Or were you going to return my apple? It was my afternoon snack-"
"What? No, it's my apple now, you gave it to me!"
"Well, I... threw it at your head-"
"-I accept your confession!" He blurts boldly.
All you can do is splutter out a pathetic 'huh???'.
Phainon is exasperated at this point, desperate to confess the feelings that's been dwelling in his chest for the entire time he's known you. When he's waited this long, he wasn't going to let the moment go, not when you're the one who took the first step, having the nerve to capture his heart and take off bolting with it.
"I like you- a lot! You're everything I've ever wanted and I've waited so long for this, Y/n, please don't make me suffer any longer."
He doesn't blink as he looks at you, as if stubborn to not miss anything about you, not a single micro-change in your expression, the way your breath hitched at his passion, the tweaks of a small smile beginning to pull at your lips.
"Just how am I making you suffer?"
"You tell me the one thing I've been waiting to hear from you and instead of letting me speak, you run away and have me chase you like a Spirithief, does your cruelty know no bounds? Fine, if you're still unsure about my feelings then-"
He takes a big bite out of the apple, the crisp crunch speaking more than it should have to as you blink at his unwavering will.
Phainon's confession settles in the silence, and the first thing you do is laugh in a way that has him almost crumbling to his knees in relief. It was an ode to something beautiful, the start of a new beginning, and as he split your apple in half and handed you the unbitten part, the dull ache on his head finally began to subside.
