dcvinely / marley rose * !!
Marley was somehow good at making decisions, especially if it wasn’t about herself. She could indulge into someone else’s life without ever having to think about her own. So, when the other had said that they did need the help, Marley let out a content sigh, soon a smile spread over her features. If she had learned anything while being in Ivywood, it was that it wasn’t as different as Lima, Ohio. Well, other than random people waking up here. Other than that, she found similarities between the two small towns. “Well, I’m definitely glad to help!” And with that, she went around to a few different clothing racks, picking and grabbing different clothing items for the other to try. When she finished, she returned with a smile. “I think these would look good on you, too.”

the one shirt was all the help finn expected. while used to the community back on the resistance base, he doubted many other places could even come close to replicating it. how could they ?? after seeing && going through what they all did together, those bonds were forged. he couldn’t expect much from such a place he knew little about, but the kindness of others was a surprise, but welcomed. eyes widened with each additional item she picked, smile genial as he chuckled. eagerly, he took her suggestions without question. he may not have ever picked them for himself, but he found he liked them regardless. “see, i never would’ve picked any of this out. back where i’m from we just kinda wore what was durable.” a shrug, his smile only widened. “i’m finn. i can’t say i can help you with fashion, but i owe you one.”
beverly wasn’t exactly on the tour because she cared about history. more so ever since the discovery of missing a few key memories she wanted to know more about this place. if she couldn’t remember everything that was gone, she at least wanted to know WHY it happened. what was actually real && what was only in her head, at the very least. but as she assumed, it wasn’t as if the tour was going to give her all the answers. why would it ever be so easy ?? with a sigh, she wandered to the other, arms crossed as digits rubbed at elbows ; a nervous, deep in thought habit of hers. “the books you mentioned, do they go back even further than the years you talked about or —” words trailed off, brows furrowed as bev noticed the other’s pasted expression. she offered a small, kind grin in return. “— long day ??” bev knew all about those.
How quickly things could change. The mood in the town seemed to match Lucy’s now and she didn’t once think she should do something to cheer things up. She was tired of the lies. Lies that she wouldn’t have to return to this wretched world. Lies that her oldest brother and sister believed so thoroughly, it made her angry and she was more and more frequently wishing they would never be able to remember anything ever again. She wished she could forget everything. Lucy had stopped caring. She felt nothing. Not even hatred. To feel hatred would mean she still cared about something. She went to work on autopilot, not listening to a word anyone else was saying let alone her own words. She had the dialogue memorized by now. She didn’t need to pay attention. “And that concludes the tour for today. If you’d like to learn more about the town, make sure to check the gift shop for books on the history of Ivywood. There’s a sale on books to the end of the week.” The pasted on smile fell away as soon as she turned from the group.
selfishly, it was relaxing being with only mike. it was strange, being jealous yet also fearful of whatever parts of the future were missing. but mike’s company was also simply welcomed, always would be. “it’s going well. the apartment is all furnished. i even have legit silverware, not just plastic from all the takeaway.” eyes glistened with jest, studying him carefully, taking him in. she had a feeling she’d be doing that for a while, always making sure they were really HERE. “what about you ?? finding everything alright ?? you know if you ever need anything don’t hesitate to ask.” another sip, eyes widening with excitement. “we should all go the the arcade sometime, for old times sake. && the lake when it gets a bit warmer out. you know if—” we’re still here ?? haven’t figured it all out by then ?? “— might as well enjoy the good parts of this place, right ??”
@heartsofember requested a starter | mike and bev
as much as mike did genuinely care for all the losers, he knew he wasn’t as close to some of them as the others. yet he was kind of glad for bev at the moment. were they the best of friends in their youth? no, but she was the only other member of their little gang that was suffering from memory loss and mike found it oddly comforting, even if he felt guilty about it. because she’d understand where he was coming from. how difficult it was to understand when the others started talking about the things he didn’t recall. and, well, it was just nice to see her, really. as they settled into the booth with their coffee orders, he couldn’t help smile. “how are you settling in? you got yourself sorted out?”
social gatherings weren’t exactly johanna’s thing, but she’d be anywhere that had a good drink. velvet bourbon was one of her favorites because they didn’t stiff on the alcohol like most places did. a few drinks && she was almost happily buzzed, enough at least to not be a total asshole. though, admittedly, she almost laughed at the sight of entertainment. “yeah, people around here are dicks. they never change, not matter where you are.” johanna mused, dark gaze wandering over the stain. “that’s not gonna come out. they like their drinks fruity && dark it seems. an asshole who also has bad taste.”
Alec spent just a little too much time at Velvet Bourbon, but he was a social guy and liked to people-watch. At least, this Alec did. Normally, Alec Lightwood would be off working, or spending time with his family, not slicking his hair back in a small mirror in the corner of the dining room. After he determined that every hair was perfectly in place, he turned and was immediately met with a spilled drink on his shirt. “ Hey, this is brand new! ” He called out to the person who had now completely walked away, as if nothing happened. “ Asshole. ” He muttered, reaching for a napkin to blot at the stain.
seeing familiar faces around ivywood was becoming a more common occurrence. it was always a bit of relief, regardless of the individual. regardless also, if what they remembered && what luna did some of the time differed. despite how troubling the times were, luna did miss home, especially their dad. so if he couldn’t be here, it was nice to at least have a few people from back home. “hermione !!” smile genuine, warm. “it’s so nice to see you too. what a surprise, though a very good one indeed !!” they chimed, gaze moving between her && the ballroom. “i love your dress. seeing you && being in this place, reminds me of home in a way, you know ??”
Other than a few of the adults and Ginny and her kids, and Draco of course, Hermione really hadn’t seen anyone from her hometown here. The adults were all off doing their own things and Hermione was still trying to remember exactly what had happened over the past years of her life. So to see Luna there at the ball made things feel calm, for the first time in awhile. Even if Hermione found the girl a bit odd, she was a welcoming presence. “Luna! Look at you! You look wonderful tonight.” Hermione said walking up to her. “It’s so good to see you, you wouldn’t believe how much of a sight for sore eyes you are.”
events that broke up the norm of daily life were always luna approved. she felt l i g h t e r already, a quick twirl on the back her heel as a chuckle passed her lips. “this place is so FANCY, ginny.” she chimed, blue eyes turning to her friend ( such an uncommon word for luna to say, to even think of having, but in ginny it rung true ). “before i forget, i made you something. as your friend && honorary date i simply had to.” && with that luna pulled out a piece of paper from her purse, a drawing she made of the other. “i can hold onto if for you till the end if you want. but it’s my thanks. you know, for coming with me && everything.” @spcllbovnd / ginny weasley.

Han’s brow furrowed together. Clearly this kid knew more about him than Han thought, but he couldn’t remember ever meeting him. Sure, a lot of faces came and went in his line of work, but still, the other man’s words caught him off guard. “ Solo is what? ” He asked, brow furrowing together as his hand fell back to his side and both of them immediately went into his pockets. “ Sorry kid, not ringing any bells. Mind filling me in? Maybe it’ll help. ”

solo is what ?? heart practically sank— mouth DRY as finn attempted to reign it back. he certainly didn’t want to be the one that told him. not as someone the other didn’t even remember, let alone at what was supposed to be a celebratory occasion. finn forced a chuckle, waving it off. “i don’t know what i was getting at ; i think i drank more than i realized.” he jested, despite not even having a drop yet. “we ran into each other on a mission once. things got bad, as usual, && you helped me out. i’ll always be GRATEFUL, just so you know.”
“Maybe, he thought, there aren’t any such things as good friends or bad friends- maybe there are just friends, people who stand by you when you’re hurt and who help you feel not so lonely. Maybe they’re always worth being scared for, and hoping for, and living for. Maybe even worth dying for, too, if that’s what has to be.”
beverly never thought she’d meet someone who could talk as much as richie. perhaps he still beat lila out, but the fact that it was even close ?? she was pleasantly surprised. bev could practically hear what richie’s rant when she told him he had some competition. she didn’t mind it however, never did. if anything she liked listening — it was an easy way to stop her ongoing thoughts && at least this was interesting. italy — the food, the fashion, it was a place only for her dreams, or so it’d seem. “well, sounds like the definition of romance if you ask me. who knows, maybe he’ll find his way here. every good rom-com gets a sequel, right ??” wide smile warmed her features, lips pursed as she tried to recall. “i think we were talking about what we’d use our coins to wish for.” she pondered, rolling the penny in her hands as she looked from the other to the coin filled fountain. “i’m sure this is nothing compared to the trevi fountain. but now i honestly think i might use my wish for pizza.”
“that reminds me of italy last summer. my mom wanted to go back up there to spend some time with my family — which, sidebar, my family owns this cute little pizzeria up there and i swear! they have the best pizza i have ever tasted! — but, anyways, i met this guy. and it felt like.. love at first sight. he was the cutest i have ever seen, it was just so.. different! we spent almost the entire summer together,” lila sighed happily, reminiscing on what could have been a truthful story. lila lied like it was her job, so of course, here she was lying about another story. “he was like… mine for the summer. we went on hikes, ate at all of the restaurants that he wanted to show me. i felt like i was in the lizzie mcguire movie. and when the summer was nearly over, i took him to my family’s little pizzeria and we shared a slice of pizza and watched the sunset fall. it was the most romantic thing i have ever witnessed. sometimes i wish i could go back there, but i have my duties here,” lila shrugged lightly, a bright smile on her lips. she always held herself to make her stories look like they true. how could so many details be made up on the spot? “but enough about me, what were we talking about again?”

hands brushed through fabric samples, weighing her options for what she wanted to create next. however, at her name she turned to the other, confusion immediate. his face, so FAMILIAR yet near impossible to place. memories have always been a bit f o g g y , but that’s how it always got with age, right ?? “bill.” the name pushed past her lips before she fully recognized him, memories of a voice calling out ‘ hi-yo, silver, away !! ’, the quarry, a house on neibolt street, suddenly coming to mind. “holy shit !!” she chuckled, smile warm. “i’ve been here quite a while.” at least to her it felt like it. “portland didn’t work out,” she shrugged, already feeling desperate to keep up with her ever racing mind. “what about you ?? here i thought derry was small ; guess the whole world is.”

Bill had ran into a few members of the Loser’s Club, but he hadn’t seen all of them yet. There had been no sign of Pennywise, which brought both relief and a little bit of worry. While Bill wanted to believe that they were in the clear, but of him felt like it wasn’t going to be that easy. He had been lost in his own thoughts when his eyes landed upon a familiar girl. Bill could feel himself pause before he finally called out to her. “Beverly?” He questioned, jogging over to her. “Is that you? When did you get here?”
kissed you when i saw you. stared deep into your eyes. i meant to say ' i love you ', but instead i said goodbye. shadows in the city ; i'm a stranger to myself, on these streets i'm someone else. shadows in the city ; like a demon in the dark come to tear us apart.
