Vesper’s life is fairly normal. College is almost over and his study companions are tiny animals with skulls for faces, and his familiar with molten gold for eyes. A bookworm through and through, Vesper has a hard time interacting with others, and it only gets worse when he starts crushing on his best friend, Volt. 

The only problem here is Volt is a demon, and demons… don’t do romance well.

An AU of Kane DIRECTLY inspired by the Outsider from Dishonored. Gotta love your spooky void Gods who pick one favoritest human over all others (Corvo it's Rho).

Here he is… Death.

Death is, as you can tell, the ‘Earth Prime’ version of MZ. As Kara pointed out with Dirge, we like to interconnect out universes, and he became the ‘plot reason’ her Rock and my MZ are fated to be together. TLDR; he is the God of Death, paired with the God of Life to keep the balance of souls in check. His abilities aren’t restricted to a single quadrant of the multiverse, but the multiverse as a whole, though there are some places that are harder to access more than just observatory than others. 

Most things cannot see him, much like other other-folk, but sometimes he can be glimpsed in crowds or distant places, watching and observing. His cloak is a form of his wings, of which there are eight pairs, and only are visible in times of great calamity and danger. Normally it moves and shifts as it is made of shadows, just like he sometimes is. He shifts in shadows and moves with them, though has no adverse reactions to being in the sunlight either.

Kara wrote a little about how he and Dirge first met, but the summary is that Fate (the Goddess of Fate, I’ll make her a shiny ref at some point) told him to don his Avatar’s skin and interact with one of the souls he was meant to reap– that soul was Dirge. Fate had it so that Dirge was Death’s first Guardian, who functions as a reaper to ferry souls from place to place, and be another set of eyes.

Death rarely speaks, and responds to things in a neutral manner. After all, souls are hardly worth talking to, all of them bargain to have a life that is already gone.
