The goal of a first date isn't to impress a complete stranger. It's to find someone that you think is pretty and mutually inspire the thoughts
damn bitch you live like this?
can I join you?
Some tips and tricks I use to be productive through my ADHD:
The “eh might as well” method. If I’m going to the kitchen to eat might as well bring all the cups from my room too
Make it inconvenient to ignore. If I have clean laundry that needs to be put away, I will put the basket in my doorway. Now it’s inconvenient for me to sidestep it. I also do this with my homework.
Hiding or making it hard to access distractions. I can slip into doom scrolling on TikTok so what I did is add the fingerprint requirement to open and removed it from my homepage. Now I have to go through 3< steps to get into it.
Make things convenient. I can get overwhelmed by my clothes so in my closet I have a shelf dedicated to comfort clothes. Pj pants and hoodies mostly, that I can quickly grab and throw on when I need them.
Use the “don’t see, don’t exist” to your advantage. Most of my crafting supplies sit in the same drawer under my bed. They are (kinda) hidden so I don’t get distracted.
Some other random tips
I sort my shirts by graphic, plain or under shirt and sweaters/blouses.
I have my quick grab n go pants next to my most used jackets
I hope these help
The best compliments and insults are both just describing the person. Just describe whatever you can clearly observe about them. The distinction of whether that's an insult or a compliment is whether you're saying it with a pleasant tone, or if you're saying that like it's a bad thing.
Children, who make their observations in an utterly deadpan voice as neutral remarks, are capable of obliviously roasting people because they haven't noticed this.
this is what i try to get my kids to understand, i TA for one elementary class and one college course and the prof. for rhet. comp. is so fucking cool like this and they have no idea what to do with that because they're expecting her to fail them every damn time they miss assignments bc of work or family obligations, she dont play with the slackers though she knows when they be tryin to take advantage 😭
even with my 2nd graders - if they don't get their homework sheets right or done on time, teach gives them three extra days and i grade wtv's late. its counterproductive to just call it a fail like that and then wonder why ur kids aren't learning the material.
stay safe brothers
hey americans there is a recall on testosterone gel because they found benzene in it! please check the lot numbers on your batches, benzene is really not something you want to be rubbing into your skin, also you might be eligible for compensation because this is just insane what the fuck
People love characters with low / no empathy or are apathetic about everything until they actually meet someone like that. Suddenly the person in question is horrible and abusive.
"the, uh, the feminine 'trans man/masc' with long hair who doesn't bind and isn't on hrt and doesn't voice train"
is valid and cool. also fuck you. also 100 more like him rather than even one more vile, transphobic, exclusionist snake like you
"these fucking xenogenders with three alternating sets of neopronouns who whine if you can't get it right"
hey, fuck you, again. but also why the fuck are you not enthused by people coming with terminology they like for themselves? why is that something you oppose? also, you do know that using singular they/them as the default for nonbinary pronouns is relatively recent, and that prior to that the default was ze/hir, although they/them was also used, right? no? you're just enjoying the chance to be the "normal person" hating on the "weird people" even though it's your own community and allies? oh, that's fucking cool.
"transmascs are uniquely capable of transmisogyny/transition into privilege/ are the weak link of the trans community"
first, yk, fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you. ive tried so many ways to demonstrate that this is a shitty shitty awful hurtful way of thinking, that it harms all trans people... maybe ill try a parable, like my man jc.
there was a man and two dogs. the man owned a dog fighting ring, and he would constantly put the two dogs against one another, and charge others to watch, allow them to place bets, etc. he did this daily for a long period of time. whichever dog lost he would beat, and whichever won he would reward.
why would one of the dogs hate the other, and not the man? because the other dog fought them? because if the dog won, they would be beaten?
does this work, as a metaphor? does that make sense? let me tell you something: i live in the American South, and just over the past couple of days i have seen actual disgusting transphobia lobbed at all trans people. my own peers talking about killing all trans people, and direct insults. they do not fucking care about what flavor of trans you are, they just fucking hate you anyway. and if you're using your time and your influence to shit on your own allies on your own trans siblings, to try to say they have it better than you, to insult them and try to decide what terminology a group you're not fucking part of gets to use to describe their own experiences, you are part of the problem. fuck you. use your influence to help others, and don't demonize people for defending themselves against you. transmascs are not the fucking "weak link of the trans community. " exclusionists like you are. bigots want to destroy us, to divide and hurt us. STOP DOING THEIR FUCKING WORK FOR THEM.
the thing about being nonbinary is that you really do start to forget that other people have such strict walls around what is and isn’t allowed for genders. i thought we all agreed that we made that up. could you climb out of the cave real quick and feel the sunshine for a minute.
internet politics and real-world politics have gotten so separated, and pretty soon all this internet weirdness is gonna come crashing into real life and politicians are gonna start throwing around words like “SJW” and “anime communist” and “dark enlightenment” and it’s just gonna be the most ridiculous fucking thing
there's a lesson that people dont seem to have learned which is insane to me if you've watched game of thrones bc my queen mother Lady Olenna said it herself,
"sometimes we must ally with our rivals to defeat our enemies",
or something to that effect.
the seven kingdoms were fighting a war over the iron throne, while a millions-strong undead army marched towards civilization in an attempt to conquer it. no one focused on the undead army part early enough tho, because they were too busy fighting and killing each other over who got to be in charge.
you may despise conservatives, Cheeto voters or the Republican party itself, you may even hate them. its a valid perspective to have, BUT
those people are, at the baseline, in the same position as you - at one point they may have been misinformed and misguided by the system, their families, their churches, etc. etc. and they are fighting wholeheartedly for what they believe is right. some of those people are now finally deconditioning themselves from those positions because they are seeing, watching, LEARNING that the system does not infact favor them if they are not part of the 1%, and they are seeing, watching, LEARNING that the things they voted for that they thought didn't affect them do infact impact them majorly, because of the fact that
i understand the urge to shame people for participating in the oppression and discrimination that has been happening for centuries in this country, and some of the people im talking about DO deserve it because they REFUSE to change, BUT
refusing to celebrate those people who have only just been truly introduced to our side of things, to our perspectives and experiences is counterproductive. im not saying be nice to bigots, i'm saying be welcoming to ex-bigots and educate them in a way that doesn't make it seem like you're looking down on them for not knowing - thats what the government is doing to immigrants, trans folks and disabled individuals.
we will do more damage as a united front. dont immediately attack; if you see a good fighter on someone else's team, the best way to move is to get them on yours instead.
I think it’s important to note that in the US there’s been a lot of older people, conservatives, people from red states, and Drump voters themselves participating in protests and pushing back in town halls. Conservative judges are ruling against the current administration.
You don’t have to like these people but I want to emphasize that when fighting against authoritarianism it doesn’t help to be picky with your allies. Keep going to protests and if former Drump voters join you in those protests, good.
my rants to My Lord that i dont have anyone else to talk to about. rhet. comp. and literary studies grad, TA for creative writing and history
