In a small corner of Gaza, where the lights fade and darkness falls, Mahmoud sat alone, thinking. Mahmoud's family, which includes 43 members, lived under the burden of siege and war. They lost their homes, and watched their dreams fade before their eyes. Every day was a new challenge, searching for a living amidst the lack of water and electricity, and the fear of bombing that could come at any moment.

"I saw hope in the eyes of my children, but the siege was taking it away from them little by little," Mahmoud says sadly. "They wanted to play in the streets, and go to school, but all that surrounded them was destruction and fear."

Mahmoud's dream now is simple, to get his family out of this hell, and to start a new life in a safe place. But the costs of migration are high, and far beyond their means.

Noha is a story of courage and determination. She reminds us that disability is not a barrier, and that anything is possible if you are determined enough.

After 7 October my home was destroyed and we lost everything we have

Five years ago, I had a stroke in the left foot during childbirth. I still suffer from pain until this time. During the diagnosis, it was discovered that I have a genetic factor that causes blood clots and needed lifelong treatment.

For my son Ahmed, he is seven years old, he was diagnosed with electrical charges in the brain and because of that he suffers from excessive movement and distraction.

I hope you help me and support for treatment needs (for analysis and radiology).

you both couldn’t sleep, so here you were, dancing in the kitchen with eren. his hands were on your hips, holding you close as he whispered the lyrics spilling from his phone. his forehead pressed against yours, his loose hair tickling your ears as he swayed with you. his striking eyes were closed, unable to see how you stared at him like he hung the stars and the moon.

the smell of banana bread and chocolate in the air around you mixed with the heat of eren’s arms made your head fuzzy with comfort. you leaned into his hold, burying your face into his neck. his skin was soft and warm with the scent of his cologne. his voice was gentle as he sang to you, humming slightly when you wound your arms around his back so you could tangle your fingers in his hair.

the waves of deep chestnut were soft under the pads of your fingers, proof he’d been using your conditioner. the tips of his own rubbed soothing circles into your hips, skin meeting skin underneath the shirt you had stolen from him. he ducked his head down to press a kiss to your jaw.

he took a deep breath. you smelled like him.

he moved to press another kiss to the corner of your lips, smiling teasingly when you frowned at him. “you missed.” you muttered, digits locking behind his neck. “did i?” he hummed, leaning down again and pressing his lips against your own this time. “how about now?” he whispered, hand coming up to cup your jaw, thumb brushing your bottom lip. 

“you got it this time,” you uttered breathlessly, staring into the turquoise depths of his eyes. he really was beautiful. he smiled giddily at you, lips kissing the tip of your nose briefly before he was spinning you in a circle and back into his arms, beaming when you laughed happily at his antics.
