really appreciated ur mp100 meta post — i’ve never understood terumob as an actual ship and it’s always a little bizarre to me how frequently represented it is in fanworks - or, more specifically, mob crushing on teru/returning his feelings. i love teru and mob’s dynamic so much and think it’s such a genius way of indirectly showing how everyone is someone’s Most Important Person and someone else’s Just Some Guy. like, tsubomi really is just some girl! but thru mob vision, she’s ahything but. and mob is shown the entire show to be just some guy (ignoring the psychic powers) but teru looks at him like mob looks at tsubomi meaaaaning no one is inherently special so everyone means something special to different people !!!!! like terumob + tsubomi are such a great way of looking at the message of the show but ppl r too busy looking at it thru shipping goggles despite mob sadly showing no interest in teru as anything more than a friend. this is rambling and incoherent but u get my gist. tl;dr thank u agreed 1000% im glad i’m not alone in my reticence about terumob as an actual functioning ship
dude you worded this excellently and i agree entirely. it sucks too bc a lot of people are reading that post and being like "this is a great analysis!" and then tagging it as terumob?!?!?? like dude you did not read what this was about at ALL. but you're so absolutely right, it's all about how nobody is particularly special and the only things that separate us are our built up feelings and personal experiences--everyone is the main character because everyone has an entirely different view on the world
I have a question, in a certain part of the fandom when it comes to criticizing characters like Bakugou, Endeavor, etc., an answer that is repeated a lot is that those who criticize don't understand the cultural context of Japan and therefore we don't understand the way in which Horikoshi wrote. But is this really true? I don't deny that there are aspects of Japanese culture in the manga but many actions of the characters feel very Westernized for the cultural issue to be an impediment in understanding the manga, more than anything when the idea of the heroes and everything written by Horikoshi feels a direct reference to US comics, not just a comic but directly movies like the MCU.
For understanding any character or the world of BNHA generally, of course some knowledge of Japanese culture would help shed light on some of the narrative choices and themes. This was written by a Japanese man with an intended audience of Japanese manga readers.
And it's true that Japan overall does tend to have a more laissez faire attitude towards bullying and domestic violence.
However, BNHA also clearly depicted these actions as horrific early on in the manga. Beyond that, BNHA is a manga where that argument is weaker than usual because it is so heavily inspired by American culture and American media specifically.
If an author spells out how horrific bullying, systemic discrimination, and domestic abuse are in his work, it's not too much to ask for the characters who were the victims to get the panel time to demonstrate how they were affected by these actions. The atonement doesn't carry much weight without an understanding of the result of the wrongdoing in the first place.
What a good consequence should look like and how atonement should occur is going to be tied up in cultural norms. But there's no cultural excuse for sidelining the victims because the author feared it would make the atoning characters unpopular. Objectively bad writing decisions are bad writing decisions regardless of culture.
TW !! : talks of SA, mentions of inc3st, slight spoilers
Besides them both hating each other and dying with those feelings of mutual hatred, I despise Yoriichi x Muzan solely because most of the fans I've run into romanticize r@p3. For some reason, they just love the idea of Yoriichi gr0p1ng and forcing himself on Muzan, and apparently I'm supposed to find this either romantic or funny.
I've hated Yoriichi before (I dont anymore, currently I just don't really care for him) because of his fans. He's always depicted as this creepy dude who has no problem torturing his own BROTHER under the pretense of 'making forcing him to be brothers again' and straight up SAing his enemy. Not to mention the way they make Yoriichi so obsessed with Kokushibō makes me wonder if they really just ship the twins together.
Like I'm all for the trope where siblings would do anything for each other but the way most of the fandom depicts Yoriichi's love for his brother looks more romantic than platonic which is concerning.
And I hate it because Yoriichi is this sweet, kind man who's lost his family and just wants to live a peaceful life. He's not the type to r@p3 someone for whatever reasons you could think of. AUs where canon characters have different personalities are cool and I actually love them, but making them a p3d0 or SA someone when they canonically aren't that type of person is just 🙁
Idk maybe I'm the weird one for not finding SA funny but that's just me ig 🫠
Hey y’all how are you doing? And welcome to my page, or rather this post specifically. For private reasons I won’t disclose any of my identity, but I assure you I’m over 18+ and I go by she / her pronouns.
I’ve only recently gotten into this ship but it feels like I’m not really actively engaging in the ship despite my hyperfixtation on it, so for that I decided to create this post. But I also created this post because I’m currently on a burnout with a fanfic of mine that’s basically a big project but I’m still itching to write atleast something.
This is also my first time writing these two characters, let alone KNY / Demon Slayer. I intend to write my fanfic as accurate as possible to the plot so I’m open to constructive criticism (keyword: constructive, not hate).
Currently I have zero ideas, so I’m asking whoever’s reading this to send me requests. However not every request you send I will accept, only if said request crosses a specific boundary I didn’t list below. And the requests I do accept will have it’s own hashtag or will be linked below so you could easily access.
I will only be doing oneshots, however if I find myself enjoying the prompt I may extend the fic into multiple chapters.
You can send requests both user and anonymously, I don’t mind either way!
•Short prompt, maximum 100 words. Sorry I will get a little overwhelmed if you send me a very long request. However feel free to send additional information afterwards only if you’ve forgotten and it’s crucial to the prompt. (Make sure you list the tags, theme or refs -not included in the word limit- Will it be Crack? Angst? Horror? Fluff? Etc. And try not to be too vague about your requests please)
•If you want me to do an AU inspired by another entertainment media, please ask because I may not be familiar with it. Once I approve you can send the full prompt.
•No NSFW, that I mean no sexual requests. This includes description of nudity, masturbation, softcore, kinks, and especially non-con / coercion / rape. (Pretty self explanatory, because I’m the type of person that enjoys consent no matter what)
•No proship, that’s also self explanatory.
•If you have any concerns or questions regarding which prompt I will or will not be accepting that I haven’t listed here, don’t hesitate to ask, I’ll be happy to answer!
Additional Information:
🔥Don’t plagiarise, repost, make fanwork of my fanfic or request for collab. Sorry I’m not comfortable with anyone making fanwork, and I’m not available whatsoever to do a collab.
❄️Unless background relationship is explicitly stated, all other ships will stick to canon.
🔥My replies or updates will be very slow so please be patient with me.
❄️Thank you for reading and respecting my wishes.

Okay the Timid Muzan headcanons au but maybe the reason why Akaza hated Muzan's timid personality is because everything about him reminds Akaza of his late biological father? Whether he suddenly remembers or not, and becomes more loyal or kinder to Muzan if he does suddenly remember or choose to stay away, you can choose!
Could I get some headcanons for that? Thanks in advance! ^^ 💕
Wordcount: 391 words
While Akaza doesn't remember his past (as he does when fighting Tanjirou later in the manga), he does remember certain feelings. When he looks at Muzan, a sense of familiarity washes over him. He hates the fact that he feels as if he's seen this scene before, he just can't remember why or when.
Akaza might limit his time with Muzan at first, only seeing him if he was requested, but after some time of Muzan breaking down his walls with his kind exterior and need for protection, Akaza will eventually succumb to the tranquility the other Upper Moons have been experiencing. He'll stick more to Muzan's side, seeing if there's anything he can do to help ease Muzan's mind and thoughts.
Akaza's father was sick and wanted Akaza to live an honest life, one where he wouldn't steal, even if he stole so Akaza could pay for his medicine. Akaza feels a sense of nostalgia from Muzan's personality and actions because of the kindness he shows, just like his late father did. Muzan wishes nothing but the best for the Upper Moons and Muzan will try and put his fear aside to protect his loyal followers if one or more Upper Moons find themselves in great trouble.
Muzan uses his strength to protect Akaza and the Upper Moons like they're his children, so Akaza learns to respect Muzan for this. Muzan wishes to use his powers to protect those just as how Akaza's father tried to protect him from the consequences of stealing.
Akaza used to get beaten as punishment for stealing, but his loyalty to his father caused him to keep on stealing in hopes he could help his dad by buying medicine. Because of Akaza's loyalty to his father, Muzan's goal to protect the Upper Moons just as Akaza's father wished to protect him is what earns his loyalty.
Akaza will stick around Muzan more, personally volunteer to complete missions and watch out for Muzan if there's any danger nearby. He won't speak kind words to Muzan, he feels that insulting to Muzan (and his own) strength, like he's belittling him, so he uses his strength and abilities to protect Muzan and go on missions to show his gratitude.
Thank you for requesting! I do hope this is what you mean, it's a little hard to write Akaza's thoughts on Muzan when Muzan is supposed to be a merciless demon, along with how Akaza doesn't canonly remember his past until fighting Tanjirou.

You could remove almost every female character from this series and nothing changes. Rather than discussing who goes, let's start with who stays. The list isn't long.
-Toga, because she's one of the villain team's MVPs and removing her from the story leaves a massive hole where she used to be. -Uraraka, removing her takes away a major supporting member of Deku's cast. It COULD be done. You COULD just restructure all of the moments between Toga and Uraraka to happen with Deku instead. It would just be really janky.
If we stick to canon's story beats, you'd have a scene where Izuku watches Toga kill herself after their fight and then he rushes off to kill Shigaraki. Uraraka stays. -Nana Shimura, since she's All Might's trainer and also Tomura's grandmother. -And either Mei Hatsume or Momo to act as tech support. Objectively speaking, you don't need them. Momo's contributions in canon were making the tracking devices that led the heroes to Garaki's nomu lab during Kamino, and she made a gas that knocked Gigantomachia out...AFTER everyone got finished jumping him and landing their hits, of course. You could write Momo out by conveniently having Mei invent devices that the heroes use before they know they need them. Or you could scrap both of them. They find the nomu lab because the cops analyzed power expenditure rates in the city and saw the warehouse. They assumed this was either a hydroponics weed farm, or something shady was going on. It turns out to be a nomu lab. They beat up Machia just as they did in canon, except he goes down and stays down. -Eri, on the other hand, is an edge case. She contributes nothing but two things towards the end of the series: restoring Mirio's quirk and healing Deku's arms. She's underdeveloped as a character entirely. She's not a character. She's a trauma prop and a moeblob. She's a major plot device and a reason the Overhaul arc plays out the way it does. You functionally could replace her if the story was willing to have Aizawa get abducted and Overhaul figures out some means to create bullets out of the guy's DNA. You'd have Present Mic there to attack the Yakuza alongside Deku in this universe instead. It's messy and it turns the Overhaul arc into the Aizawa Rescue Arc but it could be done. You'd just have Mirio either not get shot, or he does get shot and we have consequences for once. Mirio in canon proceeded to do basically nothing after his arc, showed up later to defeat Mister Compress, then help stall Tomura. For the sake of not having to change much, we keep her. But I do think a story where Deku rescues his teacher has better bones to it, since Eri does nothing after her arc. They make her smile at a school festival and her years of trauma are fixed. -Recovery Girl is another edge case but the story doesn't care about her as a person. She's a tool to heal main characters and enable them to recover near instantly from their injuries. You could replace her with a talking healing pod from DBZ and get the same end result. We just replace the scenes where she complains with Nezu doing it. Nezu, to All Might and Midoriya who are both in healing pods: You guys really ought to go less hard, eh? But who am I kidding? Plus Ultra! The rest of them? You could functionally ditch and not much changes. I'll go through all of them in a lightning round. Mirko: Replace her with Gang Orca. You know, the really tough mutant guy who could fight Inasa and Shoto at the same time? The guy the story barely used after? Yeah, we dust him off and slot him in. Midnight: Even her two best friends didn't care about her after she died. If we have to kill a teacher who doesn't affect the plot, kill Ectoplasm. Hagakure: Besides discovering Aoyama, what does she ever do? Deku could have just as easily discovered Aoyama...when All For One orders him to capture Deku. It's REALLY OBVIOUS Aoyama is the spy when he's attacking! Tsuyu: She saves Izuku from a shark mutant at the USJ and then does nothing else until she becomes Uraraka's video game assist against Toga. Mina: Her arc is already shared with Kirishima. You just have him eat the rest of her screen time and story beats. Kyoka: Absolutely superfluous. She sings a song once, loses an ear to AFO, and then makes the quirks in him briefly rebel. Have Tokoyami fight alone and we end up in the same place.
All the girls in class B: Class B was a waste of space and shouldn't have existed. Nejire: The big 3 didn't need to exist. Clearly only Mirio actually mattered. The story wanted to show how great Mirio was at the time. Let him fight Nejire and Suneater's foes and show off his POWER. Ryuku: Her most notable scene was getting beat up by Tomura, then is MIA until the final war, where she fights a background character. Magne: She existed just to get brutally murdered by Overhaul. The author NEVER cared about this character.
Inko: If she was never seen and the story didn't bother to get into who Izuku's parents are, what changes? Nothing. So we have 5 essential female characters: Uraraka, Toga, Momo/Mei, Eri, and Nana. 4 if you're willing to do an Overhaul arc rewrite and ditch Eri. 3 if you decide Momo/Mei's contributions aren't needed. This isn't a problem unique to MHA, by the way, this series is just especially bad about it.
The fact that Horikoshi had ALL the opportunity to have a "power of friendship" moment with the League coming together and breaking Tomura out of the possession/mind control and going on to band together against AFO but instead chose to kill them off or imprison them without any closure is my villain origin story
Elden Beast (forbidden rock candy)
In light of the last ask I got, it's so interesting that now Izuku is getting hate. Because when he was a blank prop who worshipped Bakugou at every turn, that was fine. When he didn't show a hint of malice against Bakugou, that was defended as him just not holding a grudge. But now that he's exercising agency against his abuser as a conscious adult who's (presumably) had time to come to terms with his trauma, y'all are mad?
Bakugou stans and BakuDeku shippers never cared about Izuku. They only cared about how he could make Bakugou look better. Now that he isn't doing that anymore, he's being thrown out like garbage
