Top Five BNHA Ships

I’m not going to be providing evidence or anything or go too over the top like I usually do. I’m just going to say a few words and why I think they deserve mention. Of course, I usually feel neutral about any ships that aren’t illegal or morally wrong.

Please keep in mind that I’m pretty much an anime-exclusive viewer and that spoilers are prohibited.

Honourable Mentions

Jirou x Yaoyorozu

Very nice, supportive, pure, and you can tell that they’re very good friends. I only don’t support them more because they already have ships in the top five.

Tsuyu x Fumikage

This one is nice too, but I haven’t seen enough with them in it for me to solidify anything. I think they are both level-headed and mature enough to handle a relationship if it were to come to.

Kirishima x Mina

This one is my BROTP. She’s so supportive of his improvement and growth, and to be honest, I think she’s the perfect wing(wo)man.

Ojiro x Hagakure

This one is just very pure and sweet because, despite the fact that they have few interactions, they still have such a youthful kind of love dynamic (if that makes any sense). One would seem flustered over the other. Plus, I can’t get over that joke of: “Who looks best?” in the class. Ojiro answers Hagakure, and everyone’s like, “You can’t even see her!” Meanwhile, she’s blushing in the back because she was there the whole time.

5. Todoroki x Midoriya

“It’s your power!” Come on. Too iconic. We all know why this exists. Only a true couple can fight like this. To treat each other with respect as equals and to care about another person, isn’t that just good ship quality? When my stuff ships, we go with prime insurance shipping. We just don’t know whether this one will reach its destination. Yamashita (Deku’s voice actor) fangirls over Kaji (Todoroki’s voice actor) which is also really nice.

4. Kaminari x Jirou

She playfully teases him, I wrote a short fic for this one, I’m just biased because Jirou’s one of my favourite “best girls” of the series. Kaminari is a dumbass. I don’t know how to explain it, but their styles and personalities just hit the right note (pun intended). Also, in that gif. I swear it looked like his eyes turned to rectangles. Hatanaka (Kaminari’s voice actor) also defended Jirou when Monoma’s voice actor tried to say she looks dumb. I imagine he’d be dumb (and caring enough) to overuse his quirk just when she feels down because he knows it’ll cheer her up. He’s just that kind of nice, but not the smartest, kind of guy. They can be a hero duo with her brains and his… electricity.

3. Todoroki x Yaoyorozu

Their child would be to OP. That’s my only complaint. Besides that, I think it’s just because I saw a lot of good content for them, the timing was right, Kaji (voice actor) is such a fangirl for Momo, and it’s just a good ship. They support each other behind the scenes. If they were to be a duo, they’d just be quite OP. They are the definition of a power couple.

2. Bakugou x Kirishima

“No homo” Narrator: There was definitely homo. Okay, but seriously, no explanation needed. Kirishima would do anything for his bro. They can live together, adopt children together, etc. and still call each other bros. Even their voice actors admit that they like their relationship. It’s canon that Bakugou does (semi-secretly) care about his friends (which includes Kirishima). He’s just too prideful to admit things. Kirishima is quite shameless though. Clifford Chapin (not sure whether it was an edit) had this thing where he redubbed this clip saying (in the moment with the gif) “It’s not like I like you or anything… baka!”

1. Izuku x Ochako

I’m a plain person. If I were to be a flavour, it’d be water. I’m just kidding. This ship is what basically means what isn’t wrong you don’t need to fix. She goes out of her way to make sure that Deku’s alright. She respects his dreams and aspirations as he does main character things. She offers him a hand whenever he falls and is always there to support him in whatever he does. She has canon feelings for him too. Two good children together… it’s just a ball of sunshine.

So we need to talk about why Lucy is not a useless character and protagonist. Blame watchmojo....or whoever made the list and watchmojo agreed.

1. Since Shonen women are qualified by how many wins they have over how many wins and are they good characters, Lucy’s has far more wins than losses: Everlue, Sherry, Vidaldus, Bickslow, Angel, Byro, Kain, Jackal, Franmalth, Jacob and tied with Brandish And counting losses, some big bads while she was in a team, Minerva despite coming in second place during the free-for-all, and Dimaria. And even though some are team wins, she was still useful in the battles….although Kain’s is hilarious. 2. Even taking into the fact that she uses her spirits, they do not always determine the fight in her favor, and she owns the spirits. Keep in mind she opened five Zodiac Keys in one day, created her own combo moves with them, fights hand to hand with her own spirits, and made Star Dress. 3. She killed Jackal with the same move that one shotted Angel and would’ve KOed Flare. 4. She summoned the Celestial King, used Fairy Sphere and spearheaded Gottfried to trap Acnologia and unite all of Fiore into harming his physical body. And rewrote the BOOK OF END , which would’ve KILLED NATSU had she not intervened 5. Hell, she’s somewhat physical strong, but at least 6/10 of her battles rely on her smarts, and to say winning battles without being OP perfect in strength doesn’t make a strong character is just asinine. 6. Considering she didn’t even enjoy battling in the beginning to saving Team Natsu’s behinds and kicking butt not even 100 episodes in, she’s still better developed than people give her credit for. Heck, she even accomplished almost all of her goals, and is still searching for Aquarius to keep her promise. So how is Lucy a useless character?
