Look, the concept of the Giffin and Whybourne-series is pretty nice, gay nerd and gay detective solve mysteries in 1800-something USA, but I’m a few chapters in and Griffin is an abomination of over- embellishment already:

It's really not surprising that @netflix is losing a LOT of money this week. Within the span of just a couple of weeks, they:

Ended one of their most beloved shows (TUA) in what was literally one of the worst conclusions ever written

Announced a homophobic version of Dorian Gray where Basil and Dorian were brothers

Canceled a critically acclaimed new show (DBDA) after one season despite its large, dedicated fanbase after failing to market that show

Implemented ads on Netflix plans that did not previously have them, essentially serving as a price increase for a lot of people

This is a genuinely insane metric to see, especially for a company as large as @netflix. Honestly, it's super embarrassing, but a natural product of their recent behaviour.

this kinda made my entire week so im gonna post it in hopes it’ll make your week too!!

i was in the car with my mum and my sister, two young men are in the car behind, roof down, singing and jamming to a mix of songs - ranging from classic british songs and teenhood classics, just bopping their heads and singing together.

my sister and i wanted to tell them their singing is wholesome and they make things better, so i grabbed a piece of paper and wrote “your singing is so wholesome!” and they read it, laughed and put their thumbs up, so me and my sister waved (both of us are still in school) and they waved back!

we continued the car ride for another 15 minutes, we made a turn, arriving home, and waved goodbye - they waved again and shouted “goodbye”.

it’s weird how happy simple things can make you when you feel hopeless.
