Feel like a lot of people somehow missed the fact Melissa, Gen and Akilah were all collectively trying to isolate and kill Shauna, Tai and Lottie, its just none of them managed to actually go through with it. Van interrupts before Gen can even try, Akilah picks up a rock but can't make herself strike Lottie with it, Melissa gets the furthest but looking in Shauna's eyes as she struggles to breathe she just cant quite finish the job. Effectively the three of them and Mari orcestrated the hunt because they thought the chaos of it would be the best way to isolate and kill the people they see as causing the violence and stopping them from going home. The irony being that this means they instigated the violence this time, and, to be clear, this is all without even knowing about Nat, Van, and Misty's plan with the satellite phone. So they can try to say this was all Shauna and Lottie's doing but it wasn't, not when the others deliberately used what they knew of Shauna and Lottie's tendencies to try and benefit themselves, and isnt that what they've done all along really? Used Shauna and Lottie to assuage their own guilt and complicity in the violence.
WHY WOULD YOU FUCKING PUT THAT THERE????
do me a solid and just reblog this saying what time it is where you are and what you’re thinking about in the tags.
Season 3 Episode 3 Spoilers Below Cut
I find it odd (incredibly sapphic-) that when Shauna imagines her son while in the lake, it's a blonde boy. Neither her nor Jeff are blonde though. You know who did have blonde hair though? Jackie-
Lottie literally stepping in to say that Shauna will lead bc she knows if she didn’t do that, Nat would get convicted and DIE, and this goes against Lottie’s religion and her entire purpose w the wilderness, she actually KILLSWITCHED HER OWN INTENSE TRAIN FOR NAT, the same train that has driven Akilah into the caves where she might die every time and Travis nearly psycho-breakdown
yeah im ill
It’s a little funny how since this latest episode I’ve seen a lot of “oh I hate shauna now” posts and I think that’s valid and understandable but when people say she’s annoying as a character and hard to watch I’m like. You don’t have to like her. But every show needs a good villain and she’s providing that this season. She’s the catalyst for so many major events in the series, is absolutely crucial to the plot, and is the closest thing to a central protagonist in the show. You can hate her but don’t act like the show would be better off without her. She is the show and what it embodies; cruelty and envy, particularly in the context of the complexity of female relationships, and trauma.
what do you mean elon musk did a nazi salute on live tv at the united states presidential inauguration twice and is now erasing the evidence off the internet by replacing the footage with the crowd cheering instead?
would be a shame if people reblogged this, wouldn’t it?
Half the characters in this photo are dead now🙃
propaganda: doesn't matter if it's 1996 or 2021, lottie is having ridiculously intense homoerotic friendships with her team.
I think the thing about the existence of the wilderness (in the supernatural sense) is that there was some sort of supernatural element out there with them. I say this because there are inexplicable elements to the show (no eyed man, Jackie's dying hallucination, Van's seeing things as she was dying). But that thing did not make them do the things they did.
Let's think about it here. When Lottie was speaking French, she said "it wants blood". Someone translated it fully (I don't remember who so if someone wants to tag them), the French translated to something like "I gave it offerings, but it wants blood. Yet blood doesn't mean death. You can get a papercut and bleed.
Which brings me to my point. The wilderness gives them something when there's blood. Not when there's death. When they were on their periods, they were eating better. When the plane crashed, van survived because of the blood spilled. During the seance, the spirit left Lottie when she was bleeding. When Shauna got a nosebleed on the symbol, the birds fell from the sky. At doomcoming, slitting Travis's throat brought the bear. When Laura Lee flew the plane, it saved Van. As Shauna was giving birth, Travis cutting his palm saved Shauna's life.
They have to spill blood to get what they want. They don't have to kill.
That's the whole point. There is something out there with them, but the girls are also crazy. It was just them. Them who decided to kill.
The I know what you are look Lottie gave Shauna and Melissa after their “that’s fucking power” and handholding exchange
