𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 has , for maggie , gotten much easier over the years of her life . she used to be much more her father's daughter — running away from anything as soon as it could possibly turn to conflict , especially about her . but as she's gotten older , and found beings that she would fight for ( their safety , their happiness , their relationship , etc. ) she's grown into not shying away from it .
now , the way she handles confrontation isn't always the healthiest , but it depends on the circumstances . sometimes a little psychological manipulation is what you need to grease the wheels of progress , you know ? or straight up threats .
but only when she needs to . she just … has a very short fuse when it comes to her family .
𝒆𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒐𝒓𝒔 are part and parcel of what make maggie who she is . whether it's through the use of substances , including her powers / domain , or through physically removing herself from responsibilities to go off and do literally anything else , she definitely has them . her whole “coming of age” era was entirely running away from responsibility and recognition — solely escapist behaviors . she's gotten better now , no longer with one foot out the door . she's just conveniently standing next to the door , that's all .
tying to that , 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒕 is also something that makes maggie who she is . she loves the mortal world , loves traveling and learning new trends , eating new foods , experiencing new art . everything about the mortal world is so precious to her , and she does love to explore it , usually using her mirrors these days , but again ; even before all that , she traveled extensively .
in terms of divine realms , she's also very curious and loves to see new places , but she knows to be more restrained / respectful in those locations . they aren't hers , and they are an intimate space , so she does temper herself more than when in the mortal world .

maggie looks up as her youngest crashes through the kitchen revolving door , simultaneously delicately holding something . her heart warms at the playful swirling nature of his aura . she lets hers bloom and swirl in tandem , the equivalent of cupping his cheeks as she looks down at the cake .
she puts both her hands over her chest , looking up at kal with nothing short of love and gratitude .
“ is this what you were doing in the kitchen that required me to leave ? “ she asks , gently taking the cake from him and setting it on the counter . ” this is lovely kali-boy , thank you . shall we have some ? "
she may be already planning a treat basket in return for him .

her father was a human smuggler; her mother was a human force sensitive princess from an aquatic planet, left to her own devices on a "peaceful" moon orbiting her home planet (it was a prison and her mother was the one in charge of it, loosely, while also being locked there herself)
their affair was quick and messy, her father only periodically stopping through on his ways to and from various far more exciting places
her mother was never trained by the jedi or sith, instead self-training in her own blend of light and dark sides, though her favored method of punishment for political prisoners isolated on her moon influenced her further towards the dark side
maggie, for better or for worse, was also force sensitive, and learned of the force through her mother's teachings, though she was far more inclined to embrace the full spectrum of attitudes through the force than her mother
by the time the conflict between the separatists and republic grew to full blown war, maggie had left the moon she'd been raised on and instead found herself in a much bigger pond
her dabbling in the darker side of the force marked her with her mother's iconic yellow eyes (though her sclera remained white) which she covered with a mask and visor, fashioned in a parallel fashion to the clones helmets
her preferred weapons are distance, information, and the force itself, though she is quite lethal with a blade (she loves her vibroknife) and though she doesn't have a lightsaber of her own, if she were to come into possession, bond with, and wield one, it would turn white over time
in all of her different eras, she struggles to balance her place in the force, especially when she sees how others with this ability are using it. neither the jedi nor the sith look particularly appealing, so she hides herself (as best she can) from both.
in the clone wars, she focused on familiarizing herself with her father's handiwork from a distance, using his networks to establish her own, interconnected and interwoven with the smuggling rings throughout the galaxies. an independent entity, she made her coin through racing, pleasure, and information smuggling (20-23 yrs)
in the age of the empire/post-order 66, she stepped as far out of empire control as possible, without allying herself with the rebel forces outright, though assisting them in exchange for temporary protection when the empire upped the hunt for force sensitive adults who escaped the previous purges/collections (23-47 yrs)
in the age of the new republic, maggie has leaned hard into replicating her father's smuggling of goods and information, seeking her own power and security in the vacuum left behind, as tales of force sensitive users become stories of a distant past (separate timeline OR 47+ yrs, depending on vibes)
maggie has a lot of predator animal fear in her childhood, being raised by lions (seeing the acts they commit in exacting detail to survive and even collaborating and helping and committing those acts as well, and knowing if this is what they can do, at their scale, what happens if one of them hurts another, or worse, adopts the presence of a larger predator like the gods and the fear that one day they will run out of resources and be forced to turn on each other because there is scarcity in all times) but as she gets older it really does turn more into prey animal rage (because she never was a lion in the first place. she was a fox, at best. a hare, most likely. designed to run and be cunning and out think her circumstances and hating hating hating her circumstances that were constructed long before she was born, the murderous rage and desperation to never again be in that trap of an island, literally or metaphorically) and i think that's neat :)

she's walking from her coven's shotgun house to hypnos' part of the estate , wanting to be with him . it's not the shortest walk in the city , but she hates having to rely on carriages and cars when she could just get by on her own . she'd done it plenty back home , and she can do it here .
she's also thrumming with energy and power from the new moon ritual they'd done . while it's not the most replenishing part of the cycle , it is an excellent time for planting ideas in the dark , and watching them spread . she's hopeful for changes , if they aim their hexes right .
damn politicians . damn depression . damn wars .
she cuts through the french quarter , towards their territory , wanting to feel a little less like she's being watched . of course she is , a young woman alone in the wee hours of the morning , but she doesn't see any colors to indicate sound . whoever it is , whatever it is , isn't moving .
or is moving too fast for her to hear .
stupidly , naively , feeling the rumble of the river nearby and all the life she can pull from it , she stops .
listening , watching .
then , too fast for her to comprehend , there's an explosion of black-white jagged edges and the sensation of wind across her face . she falls back - was she pushed ? - and feels a stinging at her neck . she reaches up , trembling fingers touching the point of pain and coming back bloodied .
claws ? teeth ? she can't see , so she doesn't know .
a pale hand is offered to her abruptly . she blinks as she looks up , already taking the hand , intimately familiar already . beyond hypnos is the slumped form of the would-be vampire attacker , who had gone for her throat before being stopped by hypnos .
she very well could have died .
the realization makes her cling to hypnos tighter , feeling much safer in his grasp . now comes the political questions - is it because she's a witch , or because she's his witch that made her a target ? was she just easy prey ? there are drunks in every hotel , surely that would be easier . why come here , near a church , after following her for several blocks , just to attack ?
so many questions , but the most relevant one sticks out to her . she tilts her head , revealing the wound to hypnos .
“ can you close it ? ” she asks in a quiet voice .
