And that makes the end of scene 2! I wanted to get the first page of scene 3 out before my hiatus, but we'll need to wait until I return. We have about 3-2.5 more scenes to go. I'm excited to make it through the drafting process. If I stick to my plan, chapter 1 will be about 25 pages, give or take. Once that's done, we will start to color. I'm thinking about using the same coloring technique as this post.
Anyway, wish me luck on draft 2 of my book! Hopefully, it doesn't take me too long.
See you soon! :)

✔ - Vote in the poll.
I want to start by saying that this exercise (found here) was easy enough to complete during the few down hours I had today, so it makes for a decent warm-up. We were to sketch out a few cityscape silhouettes using basic shapes and then detail the best one. I made only three sketches and picked the silhouette that I found fit the Underground aesthetic the most.
This exercise was fun!
It definitely helped to better shape the skeleton of a city in a quick, yet appealing, manner. Despite that, I feel like I could've done more today, but I'm at least patting myself on the back for getting a blog post out there (the bare minimum, I know). I had such little time to do much today. I hadn't yet researched the map of the Underground or really taken a moment to find noteworthy references. Hopefully, with a bit more time on my hands, we can start strong tomorrow by finishing the Clipstudio tutorial.
♫ - What I’m currently listening to (plus Papy voice claim at the end?)
I want to preface this post by proclaiming that I'm both a wannabe perfectionist and far too indecisive for my own good. What does this mean? Well, I've been looking over the last few pages of the comic and picking at it like a pimple on a freshly washed face. I gotta get it right, but at the same time these are just thumbnails...right!?
I actually do not know.
On the one hand, I'd love to get the final product on one scrolling page with color, clean line art, and consistency on Sans' face. On the other hand, I am lazy and afraid that if it becomes too much work I'll simply drop it. Quite the predicament. I will say that 6 pages are the farthest I've gone with a comic, colored or otherwise, so who knows. I just might surprise myself.
What are they? Google says they are:
The formation of a word from a sound associated with what is named (e.g. cuckoo, sizzle ).
What are they to me? Oh, just the best thing since mango mochi. I found my dream font, learned how to describe a flute playing at a ballet, and now I'm wrestling with myself to not overdo it. Should I add in the sound of the wind for safety measures? What about the click of heels, every breath a character takes, when they pass gas? Ah, yes, I can hear it all now, or rather, see it.
Plus, one of the benefits of describing sound(?) is the filling in of whitespace, and as a lazy artist (how many times will I say it?) this pleases me very much.
bloop, blop
ting, tong, tang
twingle, twangle
bam, ban, bang
fwoosh, swoosh, whoosh
Thank you to YourDictionary and this blog for providing examples.
I might sneak in a few more edits to posted pages this week. There could be very small tweaks, maybe major ones. I might try to give Sans reconstructive surgery on his face until I get him just right. I might wait until we get more pages done before I go back for more tweaks.
They say when working on the first draft of a novel you are to write and not look back until the draft is done. Unfortunately, this isn't a novel, so I'm gonna ignore that advice.

AND I'M BACK! Somehow I managed to finish the first draft of my novel in a matter of 20 days! I feel so accomplished—only now I have a ton of editing to do, and a million other things that come before publishing a novel.
That will be for future me. The current me is excited to get into the swing of things. Behold the next page that I started last month and I'm only now finishing...
Let's hope page 4 doesn't take as long.
How's that discord coming along? 👀
Surprisingly, it is going really well! I’m simply waiting on finishing the character sheets and the related artwork before I release it to the public.
The longest a Tumblr poll can last is about a week, so unfortunately that is the time limit for this poll. By the end of the week this post will be deleted, and the results will determine Sonia’s fate. I’ll be sure to post the results in the Fanfic.
Thanks again for 20k hits!
Chara, as the split personality, could still play a significant role, in my opinion. I vaguely recall her taking command once she was alone in the house and proceeding to search for weapons and plot potential escape routes. I believe that if Gaster's cult remains as it was, it would certainly spice things up if Gaster began noticing total 180s in Frisk's demeanor through his cameras. It could be like a psychological game in which the two try to outwit each other. Chara wants out, G wants control
I really like this! You also make a good point about Chara occasionally taking over to attempt to escape, and I did originally have plans regarding her killing Papyrus when I first started writing Lugubriousity. Not to say that she will or won’t since that would be spoiling the story!
Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I think we’ll keep Chara as a voice in Frisk’s head.

His father marched out of that dance studio with thunderclouds above his skull. “Ungrateful bitch!” He spat under his breath. “If she thinks she can worm out of this just willy-nilly, then she’s dumber than she looks.” The mumbling went on for half a mile.
Neither Sans nor Papyrus dared to interrupt their father’s tantrum. They followed like a silent shadow, both knowing they’ll probably get it once they got home. What would “it” consist of exactly? It was hard to tell when their father was sober. If the boy were lucky, they’ll only get a smack across the face.
Scene two will be the shortest, and mainly consist of Gaster fuming because of an off-screen conversation that went south. We won’t get a glimpse of what the boys are thinking, but my goal is to tell a story through the visuals (which is what a comic is, but this is definitely my first crack at it). It would be neat to slip in some world building background shots too.
I’m torn on whether or not Gaster looks like Gaster. I asked my sister, and she didn’t know who he was, (ha!) but after I showed her some examples of the character she was on the fence. As a layperson with zero experience of the fandom, she could at least recognize him as being Gaster with a slight variation. What about for fans with knowledge of the character? Would it be obvious, or a bit of a stretch?
I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

Wow! So I can’t believe it’s only been about a week and I’ve already passed 10 followers! This is such exciting news as it lets me know that, yes, people do want to see this project come to life. I want to thank everyone who provided any form of reaction and feedback. It truly means the world to me.
Here’s to 10 more follows!
Also, I noticed that my last post is doing really well. It surpassed 20 notes, and I must find out why. I assume it’s Gaster’s doing. Damn you sexy abusive bastard!
Also, also, behold Alphys above. I bet you want more of her, huh? It’s okay, I got you covered. Don’t mind me as I casually slide you a link to The Worst Kinda Curse.
Gah! UNDER CONSTRUCTION! Everything is perpetually under construction…18+For Context Read "Lugubriosity"
