alright my kings queens and peeps in between, here be the first infodump of the student council au characters ! before we get into the read more, allow me to note that nami and akira’s gang are @suspectunderinvestigation’s ‼️ pls hit them up w a follow and check out their fics bc honestly this au wouldn’t be possible w/out them ‼️‼️
i also want to note that while these characters do be in existence, I’m gonna try not to hyperfixate on them haha. The focus of the story is still Akechi, Adachi, Akira, and some choice p4 characters who I won’t say anything abt yet so if that’s something that worried u,,, do not worry (and trust me you’ll love these guys anyway <3)
and now let’s get right into the news
starting off, here are some general notes
This takes place during Akechi’s third year at Yasogami, making Akira a second year. Everyone else in the council is a third year. In the gang, Toura is a second year and Shiro is a first year.
The student council race is an important plot point in of itself so I won’t go into too much detail. Besides Akira who was added on late term, any members who aren’t committee heads ran for student council and lost to Akechi.
Akira’s gang is called the Black Masks for irony purposes. They existed before Akira came in, but Akira asserted his dominance almost immediately. Akira has certainly upped the ante for crime (petty thievery, grand thievery, traffic violations, intimidation and general violence, yknow , the usual)
Any crimes Akechi commits are typically swept under the rug by the rest of the student council under the guise of “for the greater good” (the greater good is, stealing tamagotchis for student council appreciation day which he totally did not make up just now)
The student council does not solely rely on Akechi for intimidation, although he’s a big driving force. The main goal of the student council is to stomp out all crime (i.e., Black Masks), improve the student body, and protect the school from shadows.
Oh did I mention shadows? Yes well :)
Due to Adachi never getting caught, the fog never dispersed and the “game” kept going. Except, well, after Souji’s departure, the game wasn’t very fun anymore. So things calmed down.
Not only that, but due to the threat of the encroaching fog, life for Adachi and Akechi mostly became defending themselves for some time.
After Akechi’s ascendancy to student council president, shadows begin to flock around the school. The rest of the student council notices this and decides to investigate. Their investigation leads them to the conclusion that they need Personas.
Everyone’s Persona is based on a Japanese myth and I apologize in advance if there’s anything offensive in the design or anything. I will work to redesign or change the Personas entirely as needed.
(and I also recognize that some of these are already in SMT but I’m using the Loki excuse since none of them are the Personas of major characters or anything lmao)
And in terms of plot notes that’s where I’m stopping for now ;)
So with all that being said, here’s some more specific notes,
Momotaro is a fake Persona much like Robin Hood. Since Robin Hood falls more in line with Persona 5’s trickster theme, Momotaro is meant to blend in with the Japanese mythology of Persona 4.
Akechi is gunning to take over Inaba. The game might have stopped for Adachi, but Akechi is very certain that with the right moves, he could rule the small town, and not just Yasogami.
The double-staff is just a reworked UV light, stolen from Junes. Hitoshi, who works at Junes, watched him break it out of the ceiling it in awed silence.
Hitomi and Hitoshi are twins and had been planning to run for student council president and vice president since they were kids. So. Losing was a pretty big blow to their egos, especially Hitomi’s.
Being extremely anal about losing to Akechi, Hitomi typically doesn’t agree with him on anything at all, being contrarian for the sake of being contrarian.
Hitoshi doesn’t really take the same attitude as Hitomi, but he doesn’t particularly like Akechi. Unfortunately for Hitoshi, Akechi typically hangs around him at his job in order to cover up thefts, and so Akechi subconsciously sees him as a friend necessary ally.
Cho ran for student council solely because she has a crush on Hitomi. She was already promised position of secretary, so she doesn’t particularly mind how the race went and holds no grudge against Akechi.
Eika and Kenzo are childhood best friends. They run their committees without a lot of interference from the council.
Yuugo on the other hand is often consulted by the council to dish out discipline on the student body. Yuugo pretends he doesn’t like to dole out punishment, but having been in a gang in the past, for whatever reason, it brings back good feelings. Thus, Akechi and Yuugo have a pretty solid relationship compared to the other committee heads.
Yuugo was once a Black Mask himself but quit after he started working at Tatsumi Textiles, which, he only started doing because he thought he could get some tips/mentoring from Kanji. Unfortunately, the tips and mentoring he got were square in the opposite direction of how to get away with gang activity.
Nami is an enigma. She’s the new kid who transferred to Yasogami in her third year, so nobody knows a whole lot about her. She makes fast friends with Akechi though, and starts working night shift at Moel Gas Station.
She’s a big fan of Jack Frost. Some of those shadows seem to… flock to her…
Akira is pretty much your baseline Akira, except for the fact that without that initial Metaverse intervention, he had no other way to vent his frustration with getting sent to Inaba, so he just. Joins a gang.
Also, under his probation, he lives with Naoto. Although Naoto is aware of Akira being in the Black Masks, he assumes they’re more lowkey than what they are because under Akira’s leadership, they’re a lot better at covering their tracks. (Being friends with the student council president/nephew of a detective/best friend of the daughter of the head detective helps quite a bit!)
Morgana also exists here but as far as anyone knows he’s just a cat. Just a cat ;)
Sumitomo is Akira’s second in command and his muscle. When their scooters need repaired, Sumitomo’s the one on it. The gang as a whole are saving up money for actual motorcycles, but for now, most of the money they steal goes to repairs.
Sumitomo and Akira have a pretty close relationship and thus far this has been my favorite thing of the AU:
Also, Sumitomo can’t keep a pair of clothing free of tatters to save his life, hence his nickname.
Toura was at Yasogami before Akira, but people often mistake her for his sister. As if she could ever be related to that dweeb tho lmao. She calls herself Ace anyway in reference to this because, well, she might not be his sister by blood but 🥺. Also, she is the brains of the operation.
Shiro is sort of the baby of the gang and keeps a baseball bat with him even in school for protection and also because he thinks it will make him fit in more.
He has a soft spot for animals, which leads him to decisions like
Others often tease Shiro for his hair, having gone prematurely white, but he finds solace from this in the gang. They call him “Snow” (affectionate) and would kill for him given the chance.
And that’s all we’ve got for right now! Hopefully this clears some things up and also helps paves a road for a comic/fic in the future !! If you have any questions hit up the inbox !! Happy to provide any elaborations ;) ‼️
(and any chance for doodles is very very welcome :3 !!)
The maestro without his hat. They could never make me hate you, Balan.
A Family Picture
I think I found my favorite kiddie cartoon ever.
They said that Yokai Watch is Gintama for kids but who needs Yokai Watch anymore when you can have Snack World.
Looking back at DR talent development there's really some interesting introduction between some characters, my favorite one so far is makoto and tsumugi, i never thought this two will some interesting dialogs here
And the funniest thing here is that tsumugi is the one who noticed that makoto is the ultimate hope and not nagito, you know the one who keeps yapping about hope😭
What's your thoughts on Makoto rebuilding hope's peak? Do you think it's a good idea, or is it the perfect set up for another tragedy? The tragedy was put into motion since Junko knew that they had all the Ultimates there. She just had to do some.... hardcore manipulation and such.
Oh I have THOUGHTS about this alright, I’ve even talked about it before. I think it’s a very stupid decision to rebuild hopes peak but ENTIRELY in character. Junko is such a fascinating character to me because just as much as she’s an important figure in starting the tragedy, she’s also it’s scapegoat. Without the literal human experimentation on children hopes peak was doing she would have been so much less successful, potentially unable to even do the tragedy. The parade doesn’t exist without the abuse of the reserve course, the ultimate tragic event truly started with the reserve course RIOTING over the fact their money was used to fuel human experimentation on THEMSELVES. You don’t need Junko for that, Junko pushed the riot to an extreme yea, but she wouldn’t have a riot without Izuru. Junko threw a match on a pile of rags soaked in oil, but she didn’t make the pile, and if she didn’t start that blaze, someone else would have.
However if everyone points at Junko they don’t need to think about how she only succeeded because hopes peak enabled her, how hopes peak set up a society of cruel hard castes, and suffering that let someone like Junko thrive. It’s easy to blame a single human person for everything when in reality, the fall of the talent system was inevitable. Which makes it easy to repeat history if you are someone directly traumatized by Junko. Makoto is also a Hopes Peak Fanboy, he idolizes the academy because society tells him that the academy and talent system is good and just and perfect, it tells him that the institute is hope and all its war crimes is just a Few Bad Eggs. He’s simply recreating the caste system that he was raised to admire, buying into the propaganda that his childhood and future foundation pushes. Plus he’s inherently privileged by being an ultimate, he knows basically nothing about the plight of those actually crushed under hope peak’s boot. Which from the reserve course and comments from Toko in UDG about Komaru’s lack of talent, and attitudes like Komaeda’s, the plight of the untalented is a very real one.
It’s easy for him to be optimistic and think “well if one Bad person ruined the system that was always inherently Good then a Good person can put it back” but he’s wrong, you can’t fix hopes peak, you can’t fix the talent system, the desperation for talent broke the warriors of hope, it broke the reserves, and it broke the world. I think he means so so well I think he genuinely believes this will work, but in reality its doomed, eventually it’ll fall again. It’s the perfect example of how Makoto Naegi believes so hard he can change the world, but unlike with the remnants, this change will not be a good one. Plus he’s like what, 21? And trying to run a school? Good fucking luck sir you’ll need it.
Tldr; it’s really in character for him to do it because of the fact he was raised around it, thinks it’s to be a force of hope like he was taught his entire life, and is himself the privileged cast a talent system supports. I doubt someone like Hajime, someone burned by the system, would support it so easily. It’s a bad idea that’s only going to hurt people because Makoto accepts Junko as a scapegoat and fails to truly grasp the atrocities hopes peak did before Junko, thus dooming them to be repeated in the future, maybe not by him, but in the future, when another headmaster goes “hey what if we made a new ultimate hope” or “what if we push a young child’s talent to the limit” and starts this whole damn thing over again. It’s so very Makoto Naegi, and it will be his biggest mistake.
Post Game AU where ppl wake up to consequences
Misc Notes
The survivors wake up with all their memories. They wake up on Jabberwock island. Same building structures but it's clearly been abandoned. The only building not in a state of disrepair is the lab they were hosted in.
Sonia immediately has a mental breakdown and sequesters herself in her room.
Akane is too frail to move but mentally she's doing as well as you can hope. Kazuichi cries for couple of days but throws himself into making the island suitable for living.
Fuyuhiko and Hajime compartmentalizes the fastest and leads the group.
After months, Hajime is able to wake up the first person: Gundham. He then wakes them up in term of who's been dead the shortest time in the NWP. Nagito and Peko's mind been shattered from the physical/mental trauma so Hajime leaves them for last.
Sonia avoids Gundham because he wakes up without memories from the tragedy. He reminds her of good days she doesn't deserve anymore.
Kazuichi help Sonia a lot. It's ironic because this is technically what he wanted but now he's hates it. He convinces Sonia not to avoid Gundham.
maybe if that united healthcare shooter knocks out 33 more CEOs he'll be up to 34 felonies and he can run for president...
i realized it's been a while since i drew him in this fit 😌💖
also this is officially my last scheduled Wednesday post!! From now on I'll be posting whenever! :3
I've been in a bit of an art slump lately and I think I want to take some time to work on improving 🥹
Thank you for the 3ish years of weekly/biweekly posts! I'll see y'all in the next post that will quite possibly still be on Wednesday out of habit 😂🫡
I’ve imagine Jotaro seizing Haiji the moment he comments about Komaru’s age and get disgusted (along with the rest of the Crusaders) when Haiji says ‘The younger the better.’ Polnareff is super protective of Komaru and Yuta, because of the loss of his younger sister. He actually grew a protective side Kotoko, after hearing pedophiles being mentioned. I’ve actually imagine the Crusaders expressing extreme disgust on what happened to the WoH and their parent and had plans to make these kids atone.
I was also thinking that they wouldn’t like Haiji. Whether they are disagreeing with his decision to hide from the Monokumas and wait it out (for what, they don’t know) or his comment about liking young girls, they just dislike him. Once he says that comment carefreely, Jotaro is practically at his throat, with Polnareff right behind him because that’s just disgusting and they want him as far away from Komaru as possible. Especially Polnareff since it brings back horrific memories of his sister’s death at the hand of a murderer-rapist. Still, they don’t kill him because he’s too important right now to fight back against the Monokumas. However, some of them are still skeptical over why they’re banking their victory on the Big Bang Monokuma which was produced by the same factory as the other Monokumas, but it’s whatever. You can bet though that both Jotaro and Polnareff keep a sharp eye on Haiji from then on. If he touches Komaru, he might just lose that one good arm he has.
Polnareff is there with Komaru during the fight against Kotoko and witnesses Kotoko’s meltdown when she hears her trigger word. Although she’s one of the brats who put them into this mess, there was something clearly wrong with her on a deeper level, as if she’s being deliberately manipulated to carry out these awful deeds. Later, when he finds out about Kotoko’s awful backstory involving child molestation and prostitution, he feels awful for her and tries to convince her to join their group and fight against Monaca who was probably pulling the strings behind this all along. Yet, Kotoko is still confused since Monaca has such a strong psychological pull on her. And when it comes to the backstories of all the WoH, I imagine that Joseph, being a father and a grandfather himself, would feel the worst for these kids. They were just young kids–ten years old–and subjected to abuse, torture, sexual predation, etc. It was a horrific shame that the kids went through their awful backgrounds, but the hunting game needed to end. It was there that they knew they couldn’t hurt even the WoH and instead, they needed to destroy the Monokuma machines they were controlling to stop this.
(imagine Polnareff giving Kotoko a piggy-back ride after the events of the game. imagine that and have a great day)
I’m not sure if you already seen this, but I already made a post detailing how DR3 missed an opportunity to explore Chisa Yukizome spreading her despairing influence all across Future Foundation, and the same with Kyosuke Munakata spreading his hopeful influence across the agency as well.

I did not see this! So thank you for sending it to me. I think you make some excellent points. I also very strongly believe that Yukizome and Munakata had all the elements to be one of the most compelling characters in the danganronpa series, Munakata especially. Like you said, it’s a bit odd that Yukizome wasn’t the main antagonist. Narratively speaking it makes the most sense. We connect with her in the beginning of future where they establish her connection to Munakata and how she also has a similar talent of Hope to Naegi. And in despair she is the one we learn more about and bond with. We see her struggle and her fall and her happiness and her sadness. We don’t get that for Tengan however, which makes us not connect well with him being the mastermind. Although, you could argue that she DOES as you propose, since she tricked Tengan into watching the despair video which led up to the events of dr3 future, but I think it was poorly executed, and that Yukizome should have shown more villaney.
As for Munakata I have always headcanons that he approves of immoral experimentation on individuals with despair in the name of hope. You can find a lot of parallels between HPA and the FF, both of which are incredibly corrupt in the name of “hope”. Munakata should’ve been a grey villian in the sense that we understand he is in the wrong but we also understand why he thinks this way. Such as thinking Naegi is dangerous and a threat. And these sort of experiments could lend to that. At first it started with antidepressants, then brainwashing, then torture. Nothing seems to work. This is why in Munakata’s eyes, who has bared witness to years of this testing, believes the only way to get rid of despair is to kill everyone with it. This lends into his corruption (his form of despair is more so “corrupted hope”, hence his eyes not being swirls). It also explains why he’d be so against Naegi’s own unethical (altho more “peaceful”) experiment on the remnants
There’s quite a lot of room to develop these characters in a compelling way, hence why I think dr3 future SHOULD have been a game and I’ll always be upset that it wasn’t
draw yomi and Monaca causing chaos bc theyre both terrible beings ☺️
Hehehehehe protag go boom boom
