I will mever understand people who hate kids, i am NOT talking about “people who dont want kids” that is a completely different thing.

Saw a tiktok the other day about this girl getting annoyed on a bus or a plane because this kid (that could not have been older than 3) was trying to grab her ipad, and instead of simply telling the kid no or maybe getting upset at the parents, I saw the comments get so pissed AT THE KID, saying things like “break it’s fingers” “snatch the ipad” “scream at it”. One comment was “kids these days are so entitled and talk back” like firstly that Kid probably cant even talk properly yet, and secondly tell me you were abused imto compliance as a child without telling me you were abused into compliance as a child.

I need people to understand that kids don’t understand what consequences are, even if the parents teach them, if they’re young enough, then they don’t have the capacity to think of what the consequences would be. If a kid wants to pour purfume onto the floor, they don’t think “oh this could get me in trouble, i might hurt myself, somebody could slip, this will be hard to cleanup” they just think “oh this will be fun!” And go ahead with it, it’s crazy to me that people don’t understand that.

I understand not wanting kids, and not feeling like you’re responsible to look after a baby for even 5 minutes, but threatening to break a kids fingers off because they touched your belongings should not fucking be an acceptable reaction, infact, that’s what a kid would think.

Okay. So, as we inch ever closer to the release of Sonic 3, I want to throw this out as kind of a pre-emptive plea to the Sonic fandom as a whole.

I do not want a rerun of the anger, the venom, the hate that was so prevalent after the Knuckles series came out.

I get that the movie universe isn't everyone's cup of tea. I get that some are angry at the direction the films have chosen, at the changes made to characters, at the changes made to lore and backstories and whatnot.

I get that. I really, really do.

But I'm imploring those of you who do not like the movies, please keep your scu rants behind tags so that we who do enjoy the films can filter it out. The negativity that ran rampant when the series came out hurt a lot of people. My own motivations and excitement for the movie-verse as a whole dropped, and hasn't fully returned. I came into the fandom by way of the movies, so seeing such hatred for what I truly enjoyed was like a kick in the gut.

Are the movies perfect? No. No media is perfect. But they're my 'home base' of Sonic media. How I came in. They opened up all other Sonic lore and characters and backstories to me. So they hold a special place in my heart. And I know a number of other people who came into Sonic that way, too.

I'm in no way trying to censor anyone. Spout your rants. Voice your opinion, by all means. Just, please tag it appropriately so those who do not agree and do not want to see that negativity can filter it out. That's all I ask.
