I have a few drafts I've forgotten about and don't remember where they were going. This is one of them. I didn't proof read it so enjoy.

DP x DC Draft Dump #1

CW: mention of injury and mentioned death of loved ones

Summary: This is more of a vague prompt that could be taken in any direction. I'm fine with anyone continuing this if credited.

When Danny had to abandon his dimension due to his extensive injuries and with that, abandoned all his friends and family, he left Cujo behind with one command, protect. Danny knew Cujo understood that command meant to grab his friends and family and haul ass to a safe zone. So, when Cujo didn't show up days after, he assumed Cujo was captured in the GIWs raid of his parents lab or fell to an even worse fate, resigning Danny to assume Cujo failed, giving him no reason to return home.

Danny flew through the zone, looking for a new home in his grief for losing his friends and family. It was hard until he landed on a world filled with other heroes that made him feel like he could focus on his real obsession, space. Others could fix the messes villains caused. He lost it all protecting others. He just wanted a fresh start with no more heroics on his part.

He couldn't be too picky with his injuries though. He didn't give it a second thought when this dimension met his few prerequisites, ambient ectoplasm present and no need for another hero. After all, he could always leave for a new one. Nothing tied him to one place anymore.

And that's how he ended up in some city called Gotham. Even with its contaminated ectoplasm and weird vigilantes, it was safe for him. And the spirit watching the city, Lady Gotham offered him sanctuary. She gave him a safe place to rest, helped him avoid crimes and most importantly, helped him heal. She asked for only one thing in return, for him to protect her knight and his kin if they were ever in danger outside her domain.

The batkids but they take advantage of the fact that they all look pretty similar and fuck with people at parties and galas.

Some snobby rich person: So Tim, I hear that you've taken over a large portion of WE

Tim, grinning internally: Im not Tim, I'm Damian. Tim is the tall one over there *points at dick*

Rich snob: o-oh.. my mistake

Gossiping older woman: Dick, I heard that you're working in Bludhaven now. Do you have a special someone over there?

Dick: I'm not Dick I'm Tim. I'm working on overseeing WE at the moment.

Older woman: *squints suspiciously*

Some trophy wife: Aww, little Damian, how's your schooling going? Are you keeping your grades up?

Damian, with a shit eating grin: I'm not Damian. I'm the ghost of Jason todd.

Trophy wife: *looks somewhere between horrified and disbelieving*

Jason, who's been listening to this over comms that he'd hacked: lmao now tell her that she needs to wake up

As much as I love Cujo just being the Ghost Zone’s goodest boy and getting up to mischief and playing with Danny, I also love the idea of Cujo working with Danny. He was a guard dog and is likely well trained already, so I think Danny wouldn’t have much of a problem teaching him an extra command or two. For example, Cujo likely knows “Attack”, but Danny might also use the phrase “get ‘em!” and Cujo would do the same thing.

A “new” trick that’s really just an old trick but slightly different is “fetch”. Imagine a bus or car of people falling, but Danny’s busy with something, so he tells Cujo “Go fetch”, and Cujo fetches the vehicle and brings it somewhere safer.

Also, Danny whistling to get Cujo’s attention or to get him to come back to him is fun. I sometimes picture Cujo messing with the Ghost Van with Jack and Maddie inside, thinking it’s a toy, until they hear a whistle and suddenly drops them. Phantom approaches their van and apologizes for Cujo’s behavior.

And my absolute favorite: Cujo acting as Danny’s guard dog.

It wasn’t even something Danny asked for. Cujo just started to suddenly grow big and growl or bark at anyone who came too close, especially ghost hunters. Danny remembered that Cujo was possibly a guard dog when he was alive and realized that he might be still trying to do his job.
