thanks mom
we have a bunch of "wild" cats visiting our yard and I jokingly named one Jérôme and kept saying he only understands french they won't ever let anyone touch them or even come too close, but one time I started calling Jérôme (with a terrible french accent) and he came and jumped on the bench next to me, then started cuddling aggressively out of nowhere
and he looks like this all the time (I tried to paint him)
that's it, that's the story
Hey Hory ive been following your blog for quite a while and i was always impressed by how creative with many crafts you are. Recently i also noticed that you do 3d art as well? I really wanted to ask you how did you learn it (i think blender was it?). And whether you had any tips for beginners like me cause its a bit of a struggle to even start.
yeah, I really like making stuff!
I've been learning Blender for 3 years for uni, but we haven't gotten any serious assignments until recently, so it's been around 6 months or so since I "properly" got into 3D and became more comfortable with the software
the classes provided me with the basics, then I learned a lot simply by working on my projects and helping some colleagues to pass
for the tips.. I think in the very beginning the most important thing is to remember, that it will take a lot of time to get familiar with Blender, as it is one hell of a tool - you can basically do everything with it, so it's very easy to get overwhelmed and/or distracted by the interface alone - just pretend you don't see all the weird options and focus on the very basics, like getting comfortable with the navigation, using the basic shortcuts and working in edit mode
other than that I think it's like learning any other skill: find something that you like and try modeling it, for example try to recreate your room, then a very simple character from a media you like (or an oc), etc.
just start - obviously you can find and follow some tutorials you think are fun or look for some inspo for beginner friendly lowpoly models you'd like to recreate - then, as you go, simply google any problem you encounter (the net has all the answers)
long story short, find something that will be very easy to make, but also satisfying for you to look at when you finish - I think that's the best motivation
please enjoy this silly goofy simple fanart I drew in March while watching the best (funniest) anime I've seen in a long time
thanks for one like on my photos, here's some architecture (2022)

thanks for +1 follower, here's a funky edit I made combining random photos
up drawing everyone's favorite character (work in progress)
the idea is based on a Polish socialist realism poster thing - for now it only says 'REMEMBER' with the rest cut out, but I'll obviously translate the slogan if I finish the drawing (then you'll find out what it is that you shouldn't forget about) I wanted to do this for a very long time, because I can't get over how Jayce looks exactly like the type of idealized men that the socialist propaganda posters would depict, and I find it extremely funny not only that, but also the slogans that were used back when Polish People's Republic was a thing are now hilarious
I also can't unsee how he kinda looks like or has the same weird, kinda cursed(?) energy as Alex the Lion from Madagascar, so that's what I used for his head for now (it is also great at conveying all of the feelings I was feeling when spending hours on the drawing) I've had a 4 months break from art and (as always) ended up setting the bar way too high, so this will most likely take forever I hate how I have no idea what I'm doing, but instead of actually learning I'll be wasting hours trying to figure things out on my own and getting angry with myself, because everything takes so much time and still doesn't look any good - I really wish I could work on my skill consistently and learn like a normal person, maybe then I wouldn't be so far behind despite (theoretically) doing digital art for half of my life
anyway, that's probably how my posts are going to look like for the most part, because I need a place to ramble (I have no one to talk to), which I used to do a lot on insta story; still figuring out how to do this on Tumblr without scaring people off with walls of text
