i swear to god if one more stupid fandom ruins a beautiful text post i am calling the police
I was feeling agitated and artblocked yesterday so I decided to give my brain a rest by watching TV and then the next thing I knew these were in front of me
there was a point in Gotham where the nightlife dynamics got really weird because one of the batkidâs came up with the game ârogue PokĂ©monâ where whenever there was a multiple-rogue outbreak they would all split up and find a rogue to choose as their own, and then while fighting them theyâd subtly heard them towards one of the other batkids and their chosen rogue, and then theyâd manipulate the rogues into fighting each other while they stood to the side and yelled fighting techniques like PokĂ©mon trainers, and eventually the rogues started teaming up with Batman to make them stop playing it because it was making them feel objectified and demeaned.
the game came to a natural conclusion when the Joker broke out specifically because he thought it would be fun to be one of the Pokémon used by the batkids, except when he made himself known to Red Hood Jason just shot him point blank in the skull and said it was the rogue Pokémon equivalent of using a masterball on him.
the batkids are banned from creating their own games.
âYou silly, delightful man. There is nothing to be sorry for. You fought for us.â - Arthur, THE HOUSE IN THE CERULEAN SEA by TJ Klune
Here is my contribution to Our Favorite Scene Zine latest edition, which compiled over 20 artistsâ interpretations of the reunion scene from THE HOUSE IN THE CERULEAN SEA. This book was my first inroad to TJâs staggering body of work, and remains one of my comfort books at times when my faith in humanity is challenged, or when parenting two smarty-pants gets particularly hard. đ From the outset, I wanted to focus on the kidsâ reactions to Arthur and Linusâs reunion, because love is something that children inherit from their grownups, and that joy multiplies as they grow up in safe and accepting spaces. I hope you like how it came out. đ
pulled an all-nighter and then promptly passed out, i drew this sometime and have no recollection but i think i get what i was going for
