Messing with the low ballers... #scumbags #craigslist
Here are the prototyping machines so far. Simple harbor freight Lathe which is perfect for small work unmodified. Generic "3040" Chinese CNC Milling table. So the spindle that came on this thing was pathetic. First pass in aluminum and it completely stopped. So i decided to fit a harbor freight 1/4" half horsepower router to it. First tests in wood have been successful. Last but not least my 3d printer from solidoodle. This unit has been almost completely rebuilt. First day it got it the proprietary control board blows... POS. So i decided to upgrade it to a RAMPS board and use an Arduino for communication. This unit came with brass bushings which i replaced with 8mm bearings and carriages that would support them. The unit didn't come with an auto bed leveling which IS ESSENTIAL for nice prints. So i made a custom servo controlled arm with a probe in the end.
23 hours after i placed my order... $56. Three Endmills and 1 day delivery. #Grainger wanted $47 and it wouldnt be here till the 9th. Why does anyone even buy from grainger? #kodiakcuttingtools #carbide #endmill
Hahahaha
Upgraded the spindle AGAIN! The Harbor freight router had a terrible collet design. So i switched it out for a 1.25 horsepower Makita. Runs beautifully.
First post ever. I plan on being pretty thorough with my tumblr posts. Facebook has failed me by its format. I hope to find like minded people who can share the appreciation that i have for my projects. I plan on using this account to get creative inspiration and to express the steps and process of my current projects. Through this type of Journaling i hope to learn more about myself and my projects.
