there was really no rhyme or reason as to how eleanor ended up at the brewery. maybe it was noise of busy people? someone is bound to help you in a crowd right? or at least that was what the tired girl had hoped. everything was fuzzy and hard to process, so she just followed the sound, shielding her face as the bright lights beamed from the building. dusting herself off, she finally realized that she was in the clothes her family buried her in. a black v-neck sundress and matching ballet shoes. while the only thing to identify her, was the dainty gold chain the read her name in cursive, nikolas gave it to her the night she died.
she was shaken out of her daze by a voice calling her way, looking up with a confused grin, she then pointed to herself to confirm. he sounded kind and there was water at the table, oh how long it had been since she had water. so she found herself skipping over to the empty seat, nodding her head at his question before grabbing the pitcher of water and gulping it down. it felt as if she her whole body lacked oxygen and liquid, causing her muscles to feel tense and strained. after a few seconds, ellie placed the now half empty pitcher on the table. her cheeks turning red as she realized what she had just done in front of everyone.
"oh my god, you'd think being newly dead was embarrassing but this really tops it." she admitted quietly, hoping only the person next to her could hear, while the crowd that glared only saw a nervous smile.

kilian sits comfortably under one of the weathered canopies just outside the parleaux beer lab, a hazy ipa sweating on the table in front of him. his fingers are coated in black from the charcoal pinched between them, sketching under the glow of the setting sun. lost in his craft, he finds some semblance of peace despite the subject of his sudden artistic inspiration. the details of the shaded drawing capture the intricate features of his best friend, lost in the fire that took their lives. they'd spend their friday evenings at breweries like this, decompressing after a long week of classes and enjoying the company of their closest friends. it was time taken for granted, so now he basks in every moment. relishing in each sip of his drink, recalling memories of laughter and deep conversations, and growing stronger in their bond with one another. now, the table is silent and only one of them remains to carry on the tradition. almost like clockwork and eager for a distraction from his grief, he spots the other step out of the brewery. a smile pulls at his lips and urges him to wave them over, setting aside his sketchbook and wiping his hands as clean as the napkins allowed. " hey ! are you meeting someone here ? 'cause i could use some company if you're not. " kilian says with confidence, before motioning to a seat at his table and leaning a tad closer to them, his tone taking a more playful turn, " besides, i'm getting pitiful stares from the other patrons here for drinking alone. if anything, i'm making it look cool . . . right ? "
I know you don’t believe in this, in us, yet. But you will. Oh, I’ve been looking for someone like you for a long, long time.
gabriela was blissfully unaware that raymis was alive. the two met each other when she was at her lowest. being a new demon, she had a bloodlust that couldn't be satiated and still full of immeasurable grief. it wasn't a time she allowed herself to think about, most of it was daze for her anyway. so she got ready for this event in good spirits, tyler was home and the kids all in one spot. it was hard for the demon to not feel a sense of pride and joy when seeing the people she loved together.
the demon's guard was still up, unsure of the reason for such a fancy party. expensive was the one word that came to mind when walking in the doors. everyone wore masks, making it hard to tell who was who, something that also put the woman on edge. their eyes scanned the main room, watching people as they drank and laughed, completely taken by the whole scene. it was a feeling she desperately wanted but was far too nervous to let in. it wasn't until she noticed kaya, sneaking towards the bar, her shoulders slouched but also tense, the exact way she got when upset. balling their fist in their dress, they quickly strutted towards their daughter. ready to tackle whatever had placed kaya in such a sour mood.
shaking her head softly, gabriela raised an eyebrow at the other "babygirl you are allowed to drink, but take your time the night has just started and i'm sure there is some rich people food we can always eat a little too much of." placing a soft hand on her shoulder, gabi sat down on the stool next to kaya and ordered a whiskey sour. "what happened? your shoulders are doing that thing they do when someone's pissed you off."
open to all ! event 001: masquerade, enchanted evening @inaducursehqstarters
Kaya, mystified by the lights and the music and the gowns, floated amongst the crowd. While her mask did conceal her face, she was certain almost everyone could tell who she was. There wasn't much anonymity to these things, at least not as much as she'd hoped.
She'd hoped to have a good night, prayed even. But when she'd spotted the demon across the room, she'd nearly fled all the way home. Instead, she stopped at the bar. The anger that rose into her throat when she saw him was nearly too much to bear.
Throwing a hand up to signal the bartender, Kaya ordered two shots, both for herself. She finished the first before the bartender finished pouring the second, then ordered one more for good measure. If she were to survive this crowded party full of all the scariest people in town, she would do it with a little extra confidence.
Unfortunately, someone caught her in the act. Not that she tried to be sneaky in her shot-taking, but she preferred not to be seen drinking her feelings. "What?" Kaya snarled. "It's a party."
it's possible that everyone who was brought back was now bonded. lizzie was related to her fiancé, his family was the polar opposite of her blood one, so it always fascinated her how the mikaelson group dynamic worked. running dirty fingers through her hair, eleanor nodded to the other. feeling instantly soothed once in her presence. "you're back too, so that means..." she trailed off, as her brain worked at a much faster pace than she could currently handle. "well now i have a horrible headache, do you think you remember your way to the boarding school?" all her senses were fuzzy, along with her vision and nerves. it felt as if she had been numb for several years, waking up from a coma like state, but it was different than that. she hadn't been hooked up to helpful nutrients, so her bones ached and she felt dry, it caused her to shudder.
it felt different, almost unnerving being back. she knew she had died, there was no way to stop the merge and here she was. god, she wondered how long she had passed but no, she needed to pluck up the courage to head back home or to the boarding school. her eyes narrowed ever so slightly as she saw the other, almost as if she could sense that they were both alike, both back from the dead. this set the uneasiness that lizzie felt already to now, a ten.
“could i?” she commented, as she heard the other speak, hoping to settle the feeling she had. talking to the girl would put things into perspective for her.
eleanor wasn't sure how she ended up here, someone at the local bookshop said that the mikaelson's were big on art. even though she should've been taking time to being used to living once more, instead she threw herself into work. with a manuscript in hand, elle made her way into the kitchen, the aroma of a large meal filled her senses, causing her to realize that she hadn't eaten much today. with wide eyes, she met charlie's gaze and shook her head softly. "no really, i'm the one intruding...umm i was told that this family is into helping the arts...and i have this book that i wanted one of you to take a look at." her tone was awkward and stiff, no matter how many times she cursed herself in her mind, the weirdness stayed.
As the first rays of morning light filtered through the windows, Charlie found himself free from the confines of the garden lockup. Filled with a newfound sense of purpose, he headed straight to the kitchen, ready to take on the day.
With a burst of energy, Charlie began to transform the space, pots and pans clanging as he dug into his culinary creations. Lost in a whirlwind of spices and flavors, he didn't notice the soft footsteps approaching him until a gentle cough broke through his concentration.
Startled, Charlie turned around, a look of surprise on his face as he met the gaze of the person behind him. "Oh, hi there," he said, a sheepish smile spreading across his face. "I didn't realize you were here."

I never wanted this, but after a while… I just felt… I just felt like it fit. Like I was meant to be.
"i'm always ready to bolt." hayley admitted looking around the room as people went about their night with carefree attitude, but with the way her life had been, she'd never learned to settle. turns out the feeling was never wrong, her fight response was always correct when it came to these things. it was visible, only the screams could be heard at first, but then she noticed the waiters walk in some type of position before taking of their masks and bringing out hidden weapons. "and this is exactly why..." she trailed off, grabbing a knife from her small purse, before bearing her claws. turning quickly to beau, her eyes grew wide. "have you seen hope or charlie?"
To say the least, things were a little complex for him now. Navigating the world knocked his footing off as he tried to settle into the new shoes being a hybrid had put him in. More often than not, he'd withdrawn into the background until he could surely trust himself again. That was going to take time, and work. But one thing he could always trust was Hayley. So when he noticed her at the bar, looking a might bit off center and focused, his spidey-senses went off and he moved closer to her. "You look like you're ready to bolt.... something up?"
gabriela could tease him like this forever, this was one of her favorite ways to be with tyler. when the two of them were so in sync, they could communicate in a simple look. with a raised brow, her smirk stayed put. "i can't really tell you yet, but tell me everything and you won't regret it." the couple flirted pretty openly in front of their children, but they'd keep it dialed down to avoid glares and fake gags. to not have them home, meant that they could say what they pleased in the open. something gabi felt thankful for, since he had been gone for some time.
his tone shifted, it was expected but there was no getting used to her husband feeling crestfallen. tyler had told her all about his dad long ago, one night it just poured out of him. if there was anyone she held anger towards, it was his awful parents. the way he spoke caused her to drop making drinks, twirl on her heels and face him once more. placing a finger on his chin, gabi lifted his eyes to hers, making sure he would understand she meant it when she said her next words. "baby, there was nothing you could've done to help your situation with your father. he was an angry man and he took it out on his son. i wish i could change the way your first transition was, but maybe then you wouldn't help the wolves you do now, or be the amazing father that you are." giving him a soft kiss on his forehead, before resting her own on his, she let out a sigh. "our kids will never go through any of their transitions or changes alone. you already are doing the opposite of letting them down by being the man you are with them. tyler you have made it different for them already and they know that even when their hormones say another thing."
"really?" he hummed against her lips when she spoke of an idea , before pulling back to see her hazel hues . he was intrigued to say the least at her offer . a smirk rose , as his head tilted . " and all i have to do is talk ? . . what if i tell you everything ? what do i get then. " he teased his lovely wife , matching her seduction . gabriela told him that the kids weren't home which added a devilishly grin of his own , but then she mention his voice over the phone and the memories started rushing back . his wife always had the ability to see right through him , her gentle touch comforted him .
gabriela was tyler's sounding board so if he was going to tell anyone how he was feeling it was going to be her . " i was there . . i was there when the kid change and i could see the fear and his eyes . he was so afraid of the change . he was so afraid of the pain and it just got me thinking about what it was like for me , and how it's going to be like for our kids . " he sighed . " you know , i didn't have someone to talk me through my transition . " he confessed . " i remember that night , the fear and the sheer panic and grief of it all ." he shook his head . " and i didn't have a father because well mines was died . he was killed . " dark brows arched over cinnamon hues before he lowered his head . " not that my father could have helped because he didn't know what we were but i wished he did because maybe he wouldn't have beaten the crap out of me so much . . maybe he would have been proud of me instead of thinking of me as some colossal mistake . " it had pained tyler to go through the motions of it all . the lockwolf male sighed. " i just know that one day our kids are going to have to go through this and i don't want to let them down . i guess i just want it to be different for them that's all ." he confessed
hearing faith's voice pulled the siphoner out of her bad mood, a sigh of relief left her lips as she began picking up the papers on the floor. shaking her head with a giggle, josie looked up at her sister with a grin. "you're right this would be ten times worse if these papers were wet." placing what was needed in a folder, she got up and flattened out the edges of her skirt. grabbing the papers in the blondes hand, she tilted her head with a smile. "work was, well it was awful and i didn't sleep last night so i'm on edge, sorry about that."
there’s an ‘oof’ when the two collide, and faith’s attention immediately turns to the paper cup in her hand which she tries to balance out of spilling its content over. thankfully, the misfortune ends with her sister’s flying papers. “could be worse,” faith offers as she kneels down to help pick up some papers with her free hand, “i could’ve spilled your drink all over.” she lets a small laugh out.
a giggle escaped hayley's lips as her eyes scanned a few people not dancing so well, turning to her daughter she smirked. "oh no the couples are cute, even if some of them really didn't choose the right colors." if anyone was going to be telling the hybrid that she needed to loosen up, it was hope. the only one who she wouldn't give some death glare to, for even the tiniest remark of being on edge. a soft sigh escaped her lips, she'd been caught red handed. "alright alright, you aren't wrong..." she trailed off, as her eye roll was cut short from the touch of the other. hope had always been an anchor, keeping haylely afloat in world of uncertainty.
drinking the rest of her champagne, while taking in the way hope sparkled. not just because of all the glitter, there was something else. it was obvious that someone special had put hope in such a mood, knowing deep down that it wasn't just lizzie being back that would pull these feelings out. "lizzie will absolutely be pulling that card for the next few years, maybe more than that." she chuckled before finally deciding to ask the question. "do you know you look smitten? as if someone here hangs the stars in the sky for you each night." they didn't have to talk about it now, but hayley had to know if she was correct, that her daughter may have found that person she wanted to be with forever.
" YOU MEAN PAST THE BAD DANCING and mismatched ' couple themed ' wardrobe choices? " the tribid mused as she took a comfortable stand next to her mother, a drink of her own in one hand . " a lack of our presence on the dance floor. " hope finished with a tilt of her chin, a smirk present on her features as her baby blue gaze focused on her mother. " i know you're in ' super mom ' mode at present... but that doesn't mean you can't have fun. " and who better to distract her than her eldest. " in fact that's an order, from the mouth of your FAVORITE daughter. " tone was light, and an affectionate hand came to rest over her mother's arm, which she gave a light squeeze too. " i'd take advantage, this may be the FIRST and probably last time, you see me looking like a frosted cupcake that fell into a tub of glitter. " she gestured towards her marshmallow looking dress, the earrings laurie had given her, sparkling as her head moved. " well maybe not ⸺ lizzie might use the ' i was dead card ' to try and get me into another. "
