And I burn for you And you don't even know my name If you asked me to I'd give you everything
eleanor was doing everything possible to make sure that her life could be put back on track. each book store in town had a copy of her manuscript. they'd all take it with small smiles unsure of why she was so intense about it all, but she didn't mind. how could anyone understand her one-track mind? it wasn't true, but it felt logical that once her book was picked up again, then the rest of her world would fall into place. the solstice event was a perfect time to network, so despite being anxious in a crowd, she got dressed and made way to the gardens.
a tiny purse, held a few things she wanted to burn. photos of the person who ended up killing her and other tokens of her past. elle hadn't meant to catch the others eye, but their smile along with being next to the fire, made it an easy mistake. taking a long sip of her drink, she then made her way to diana's side. "enjoying the event so far?" she asked before taking a few things out of her bag and gripping them near the blaze.

Upon arriving in New Orleans, Diana had stayed mostly under the radar, scoping out the townspeople and attempting to figure out where she best fit in. When she heard of the upcoming Solstice lighting, she knew she'd have to be in attendance. What better way to blend into society and meet new people? Perhaps she'd even meet other like-minded gossips such as herself. And of course, there would be so many lovely people for her to engage with and maybe even drink from.
She wound through the gardens with a drink in hand, staying a silent observer before coming to a standstill in front of the roaring fire. The flickering heat felt all-consuming. Taking a step back, she locked eyes with someone across the garden. Raising a glass in their direction, she offered a coy smile. The vampire was here to play, and it was game on.
being supernatural in new orleans, meant that even if you hadn't actually talked to the person, you still sensed it on them. being a bringer of souls, meant that you needed to notice these differences. years later, she did her best to use that ability for good. "thanks, uhh it's mau right?" gabi tilted her head knowing that she had seen the woman at the b&b before. "i'm making bruschetta and it requires more tomatoes than i was able to grow. how weird it is that this is considered a fruit?" they quipped before placing the perfectly ripe berry in the tote with the rest of the ingredients. "you're parents are mary and nora right?" her eyebrow rose as she stood straighter.
she wanted a sense of normality. herself having tried to avoid society for too long with her recent change. the hybrid knew she had been staring at the same four walls of her apartment for too long. the farmers market had always brought her some joy. the vibrant colours, the smells and the atmosphere was always a place that brought her happiness. her eyes had been staring at the berry and she was about to grab it before she shook her head, hearing gabriela. “no, honestly you take it. i’ll be fine.” she spoke, hands slipping in her jacket pocket. “think you or your guests will enjoy it more.”
her eyes rolled at his comment about mothers, unable to stifle her laugh too much. the kid was smart, even if he wasn't being that way currently. hayley refused to answer his questions, until the woman was out of sight. then she stood in his view while giving a stern look. "i've seen you around my daughter." she admitted closing the space between them before glancing over at the body in the dumpster. if anything he was just like klaus and that made her even more nervous. "so we are going to have a small talk right now and honestly i don't need to hear much from you, but if you harm hope i will find you. so will her dad and honestly he can be scarier than me most days."
taking a step back, she gave laurie some space. "try to be more discreet with all this death. i don't think you are the serial killer, just some kid with a an appetite."
Laurie groaned, looking up. "God, this town is full of buzz kills, isn't it?" He looked at her with a crooked expression, "Can a guy not have a little drink without everyone and their mother interrupting?" Heaven forbid she looked into the dumpster. Still holding the barely living girl, he bit his wrist and forced it into her mouth, watching as her neck knit itself back together. Then, he spun her around and looked in her eyes. "Forget everything that's happened in the past twenty minutes. Go inside, collect your friends, and go home. And don't do anything reckless for the next few days, for god's sake." The woman nodded and marched back inside. Laurie found the interruption of a woman's face again. "Better?"
a genuine laugh left eleanor, causing her stance to soften before nodding her head in agreement. "completely agree! i'd much rather be in something comfortable and watching a movie than do this for fun. before i got in here and saw people wearing masks, i thought the idea was going to be fun, but it feels off." shrugging her shoulders, she tilted her head and smiled. "my name is eleanor by the way, glad to meet a fellow introvert."
it felt like there was an instant ease in blossom's stance as she heard the other speak. a small relief that she wasn't the only one feeling out of place or awkward in this situation. balls and grand places were never her favorite place to be, especially without her sketch pad. the only grand place she liked to go was the art gallery. “oh i know that feeling.” blossom commented as she wondered who was behind the mask. it would make blossom feel so much more comfortable if there was no masks on. “i mean, this isn't my idea of a fun thing. it feels as if i touch something i may break it and be charged the bill.”
"no, i had no idea so your father couldn't have known. if he did he would've come home with that crease in his brow and his eyes darting every time you make eye contact." gabriela snorted, a smirk on her lips as she thought of tylers face when he found out bad news. it didn't happen as often anymore and even when it was bad news, she'd still relish in the way he acted. honestly, they adored everything about their husband. shaking her head, she replied. "you know babygirl, i would love that but it isn't wise not right now. let me talk to your father..." trailing off, she realized that she had already given him some bad news earlier, about joining the faction. with that realization her shoulders slouch.
she was able to laugh for a moment, until screams began to fill the room. quickly, the demon placed an arm over their daughter, making sure to keep her out of the way of harm. waiters who were giving out drinks, ripped off their masks and took out their weapons. "i knew it." they muttered with gritted teeth. "alright okay give me like a few more seconds." she had a weapon, tucked in her holster near her upper thigh was a knife, the other leg had a tiny pistol. giving the firearm to kaya, she turned and gave her a stern look. "you need to cover me, i will get anyone who gets close to us. we need to just find an exit, i know your dad will find us, we just need to get out."
The demon smiled at her mom, wishing that they were back at home, relaxing on the couch without having to worry about all these people and potential threats. She longed to drop her head on her mom's shoulder and eat ice cream out of the tub with a spoon. She didn't want to have to think about her present half-demon abilities or her future werewolf potential. Unfortunately, the fear of killing someone haunted pretty much her every moment. "Does Dad know he's here? We should just rally the whole family and kick his ass." Strength in numbers, right?
Kaya turned on her bar stool to look out over at those enjoying the party. "Oh, trust me. I've tried a little bit of everything. The deviled eggs are lowkey the best thing here. Though, I'd choose your cooking over this fancy stuff anytime."
she didn't want to bother charlie more than she already was, his eyes darted every so often, so she nodded her head and stepped out of his way. "yeah i do, they knew my husband way back when. here i also have a map since you look like you are in a rush." taking the pamphlet out of her back pocket, she handed it over with a smile. gabi knew more about hayley than she did elijah. being a crescent wolf was always big news, even for demons. "if you need any help let me know."
Charlie took the package of blueberries and stuffed them into his backpack. "Thank you," he replied, normally he wouldn't worry about missing an item on the list, but he just hated doing that, especially if it was for his father.
"I just don't like to upset my parents," he replied with a simple shrug as he began to double-check his list. "Yeah, they're my parents. I take it you know them?" Charlie asked, curious to see if the other person was familiar with his family.
He wanted to make sure he had everything his father had requested, even if it meant adding an extra item. Charlie knew how important it was to his parents that he followed their instructions, and he didn't want to disappoint them.
As he finished packing his bag, Charlie gave the other person a polite nod, grateful for their assistance. He was determined to complete his errand for his father, and he was confident that he had everything he needed to do so.
seeing hope caused eleanor to allow herself to breathe, something she was still getting used to doing. every once a in awhile she would gulp air as if it was water, causing her to choke, but this time it felt natural. "hope, please, thank you, i'm so confused...." only moments ago the woman had crawled her way out of her own grave, fingernails broken and dirty as proof. she'd hide them from the other's eyesight, already aware of how dirty and awful she must've looked in the moment. all of the sudden she became hyper aware of her body, walking closer to the tribrid as some way to shield herself from the world. "do you know why any of this would be happening?"
she wanted to hide, but every muscle ached and she lacked proper nutrients to force herself to walk any further, let alone run away from view. so instead she kept close to hope, knowing that if anyone was going to accept the clinginess it was her. "i woke up in my coffin, in the dress you all buried me in, and..." she trailed off. "where is nikolas?"
A STRING OF SUPERNATURAL DEATHS, had not been what the tribid meant when she said she felt ‘ darkness ‘ looming in the environment of her family’s beloved city. the last thing hope would have EVER wanted was to see anyone hurt. ever the compassionate soul, hope mikaelson had a tendency of internalizing responsibilities that weren’t hers.
recent events? were no DIFFERENT. feeling stir crazy, the fiery headed girl, dumped her mountain of spell books in her room and cited the need to take a stroll ( after all whatever was murdering others, would have to have it’s own death wish to mess with a tribid ) regardless she was on guard, but nothing could have prepared her for the sight of her little brother’s dead fiancee. “what the f…. “ her voice trailed, approaching the lost looking woman in haste. zooming to her side, she made sure to maintain some distance as to not startle her. “ elle? “ name almost came out a whisper. “hey… it’s hope. “ because that was clever or useful. “ let’s get you out of here. “
for the tiniest moment, gabriela could see the person she'd love before, but it instantly went away with venomous threats being hurled at her. this was why they didn't work, no love was present in raymis, only darkness and hatred, they only took pleasure if it also involved pain. for gabi, that didn't feel like love. "my daughter is not neglecting any part of her, she is a young woman who is still figuring herself out. when she is ready i will tell her all about being a demon and what it entails, but she isn't just a demon and neither was i. you seem to forget how my soul was sold in the first place." she was always more human than raymis, more human than any demon she worked with while bringing souls.
"yes, i traded love for hatred, most would do the same thing. tyler doesn't hurt me the way you did raymis. i am not pretending to be anyone." her words came out through gritted teeth, heat rising through her body as they began to threaten her daughter. as raymis got closer she didn't back away, a stern look on her face as she looked them in the eyes. "don't you dare threaten my family, you've been dead before and i can make sure you'll be dead again." she stood tall against raymis, not backing down. "what do you want me to come back to? you hurting me time and time again, only doing things because some higher power demanded it? i don't want to live like that, i have a life here, one that doesn't make me feel used." if raymis really did love her, then he would leave now, but she knew that their love was so not the same.
raymis moved his attention to gabriela forgetting that anyone else existed . the demon moved standing 6 ft tall to meet her lower stare . " your daughter is neglecting part of herself . . just like her mother . " they spoke darkly , almost as if they were disappointed in the other demon's action . " maybe i'm just trying to make sure she embraces her true self . . something you failed doing lala . " raymis revealed his disposition . maybe it was jealousy that gabriela had started a whole new life and abandoned her duties to hell ;; and in raymis eye's kaya was the result of that betrayal .
" you traded us , for this ? " the demon spoke darkly as if they were the higher species , before their nearly black , dark brown hues fell on her husbands across the room . " seeing you try to pretend to be like them makes me sick . . " raymis tone was deep , rough and heartless as they displayed their own anger . " so if i can't have you . i'll take the second best thing , i'm sure arcadia would like to meet kaya . " raymis threaten , clearly trying to get under gabriela skin . " or you can come back home , and things can be the way they were lala . . how does that sound ? " he approached her , leaving little space between them .
for the past few weeks, josie felt as something was deeply wrong within the city. it felt as if the earth below was rumbling, waiting for the perfect time to do something drastic and that's exactly what happened. people below were stirring in their graves being brought back by a curse. the noise of it all was too much for the siphoner, stumbling into an alleyway she managed to knock over a garbage can, scaring the hell out of the other.
with wide eyes, she looked up to see it was blossom and she let out a heavy sigh of relief. "what have you been seeing blossom?" walking up to the banshee, josie placed her hands on the others shoulder, trying to give some calm to the anxious storm that swirled around them. "i'm right here, don't worry...let's get you somewhere safer and we can talk more okay?"
@inaducursehqstarters
she had seen them before, seen their deaths replay over and over in her mind. the few days nights before their death happened. but no, no, it couldn’t of been them, she just had an overactive imagination and clearly everything was her brain mixing her biological parents death with the fasces that had been flashed on the news papers. she couldn’t have been there at the death of the shop keeper nor those of the vampires , yet , it felt like she had been present.
yet, her body had taken her to an empty alleyway, and god it look familiar, like she had seen it in her dreams the night before. herself jumping as she heard a empty can rolling across the alleyway, fear stopping her from moving. “…I think something bad going to happen..” she spoke, to anyone who could hear her.
