josie blushed softly at kayas compliment, a warmth rushing through her body as they continued to dance. they'd seen each other often, kaya had a an odd relationship with hope due to who their parents were. something that the siphoner decided to stay out of, but she also enjoyed the others company. a lot of people their age, simply watched the trio exsist and stayed on the sidelines. something she completely understood because the bond was pretty scary. yet, she longed to be out of the codependency of it all. wanting to have her own type of life where she could be completely herself. "thanks, with lizzie back it just doesn't feel like that part of me is missing anymore. it's like i can start over and experience something other than grief."
the confession felt so weird to say out loud, the music turning into a slower song. with wide eyes, josie looked for any signs that kaya wanted out and couldn't seem to notice one, so instead she placed her hands on the others waist and smiled. "would you still like to dance?"
"You too! I mean, you look beautiful too." Why was Kaya so nervous? Or maybe she was just tipsier than she thought. Now all she could think about was whether or not her hands were too clammy. "It's nice to see you, and you seem like you're doing really good." Kaya had often felt like an outsider with the twins and Hope, their close knit family bond was great, and she'd never wanted to intrude on their time together. Now that she and Hope had become good friends, however, maybe there was space now, to befriend Lizzie and Josie a bit more, as well.

dark magic could be felt all around the city, causing the siphoner to feel as if an icy chill wrapped around her body. it had been a long day at work, josie constantly getting off track far too often, unable to get any work done. normally, she loved her job but it just felt off. all she wanted was to go home and sleep. maybe even wake up and have this day completely washed away from her system.
making her way out of her office, a stack of papers held tightly to her chest as she twirled out in a rush. josie wasn't looking and ended up running right into someone else, papers flying everywhere while a groan escaped her lips. "oh just great!" getting on the ground, she began the process of picking everything up that needed to be filed before leaving.
gabriela was used to tyler leaving during the full moon, knowing that when he got back, the two would spend hours talking and holding each other close. not every trip caused him to come home with old emotions stirred up, but it appeared this one had. she could hear it in his voice on their first call, but waited to question him until they were able to speak face to face. the bayou had become their safe place, free from all the pain and judgement the world had brought them years before. seeing him there against the countertop, it caused her whole body to instantly soften. gliding over towards him gabi placed a hand on his face, taking in the way he felt against her palm. a smile growing on her lips once he spoke. "i don't mind being so co-dependent when it comes to you." she smirked before placing a soft kiss on his forehead.
standing in front of him, gabriela's arms snaked around his waist before tilting her head. eyes tracing his features, as if he had been gone for years. "i missed you too. how about i make us a drink and we debrief?"

tyler was happy to be back home . he had gone out of town for three days to help his friend's son learn how to transform into a werewolf safely , for the first time . this had brought back memories of the first time tyler had turned . he remembered having to remove all his clothes until he was completely naked before folding his clothes neatly to the side . he recalled putting the cold metal shackles on his wrists and ankles , which followed the endless waiting before every bone in his body broke over and over again , and last he remembered the fear of what would happened if the chain broke . however in the bayou where they lived things were different . there was no chains need amongst werewolf . tyler leaned on the kitchen countertop as he saw gabriela walk in . they had of course talked over the phone in his absence but to feel her hand move slowly over his face felt so needed . eyes closed as he felt a wave of peace and comfort rush through him . " god i missed this . . i missed you . " he confessed .

being on the faction meant that hayley held intel others didn't, so while some took their time and enjoyed the night, the hybrid was going to do her best to stay on guard. keep an eye out for any suspicious moves that the killer would be planning to make with everyone boozed up. refusing to take any premade beverages, she made her way to the bar watching as the person made the drink step by step. she'd been to a lavish party only for it to end in disaster, this wasn't anything new to the woman. with her children in attendance and others she cared for, hayley decided to stay alert.
luckily for her, a drink didn't affect her the same way it did others, she could drink it now and be sober in a few minutes. so she indulged herself in a fruity cocktail, while taking an eye of each exit. "alright, so what is wrong with this picture?" she muttered out loud, unaware of the anyone close enough to hear.
it was far too early for gabriela's face to show the exact amount of excitement that ran though her body once elena pulled out the extra coffee. machine coffee was the bane of the demons existence, it provided no actual energy and tasted burnt. taking the cup as if it was treasure, she smiled sweetly at the other, grateful to be so in sync.
"I mean unless someone that was raised from the dead was really bad, like not a demon who fell in love and is grumpy about life in general." before meeting tyler, gabi's life was filled with violence and moments that would stick with her for the rest of her life. even if she managed to do good things now, it would never erase the things they did. only few knew that she was a demon, not wanting it to get around town, it wasn't easy to explain. "does uhh damon know that you are part of the faction? cause i haven't told tyler yet, but i plan to when he comes home..." she trailed off a smirk on her lips. "it will probably be the next morning when i actually manage to say something."
Elena leaned back into the car and pulled out a second coffee. "Call it intuition," she said as she handed it over to her friend. She was going to use it to bribe the morgue guy, but she had other tricks up her sleeve if necessary.
As they walked into the hospital, Elena scanned her badge and let them into the service elevator that would take them downstairs. "Yeah, I don't believe it, either. Unless we're missing something, it seems like the dead that have been raised are innocent." She thought about Summer, certainly she wasn't out there killing witches and vampires, right? "It's too close to be a coincidence, but why would they raise the dead and then kill more supernatural?" Whoever was behind the recent goings on had to have some kind of master plan, and Elena was determined to figure out what it was.
Being back here makes me hot in the face Hot blood in my pulsing veins Heavy memories weighing on my brain Hot and heavy in the basement of your parents' place You used to be so sweet Now you're a firecracker on a crowded street Couldn't look away even if I wanted Try to walk away but I come back to the start
"i don't think i've been in a relationship at all..." the siphoner admitted, maybe it was the atmosphere, or maybe it was the drinks, but it felt as if she could say anything tonight. "there have been a lot of one night stands, but i don't think anyone has ever stayed long enough for it to be considered anything other than that." her eyes scanned the crowd, trying to spot someone who wasn't already paired up. "breaking up before a fancy ball is rough, but now you got some more choices. there are several pretty people in the room and a decent amount of the single ones are hovering near the bar. see anyone you like?"
"I both love and hate that I am single," she admitted as she looked over at Josie with a 'please entertain me' look on her face. "I've pretty much only been in 1 relationship in my life so I don't even know what my type is. Like of all times to break up we chose right before a ball"
the moon card // upright: unconscious, illusions, intuition // reversed: confusion, fear, misinterpretation
which wolf wins? i guess it really depends, just gotta wait and see, which one's appеtite's the biggest. turns out I'm livin' in a horror film whеre I'm both the killer and the final girl. so who, who are you? -- paramore you first
for hayley to move on from everything that happened with her past, she had to focus a lot on her unconscious mind. by doing so, she was able to trust her intuition and become the person she'd always hoped to be. in motherhood, she made sure her children were aware that it is okay to dream and have an imagination. helping them become aware that what some say are illusion, are just a deeper part of your being.
since the masquerade, she has become a little bit shaken with fear. her family's safety has always come first. the hybrid is a firm believer of always and forever and will make sure to do what is often more than needed when it comes to their protection. this can often lead to confusion on hayley's part, as she will do anything in her power to make sure that her children and husband are safe. when in these hyper-aware states, she can be misrepresented as someone much crueler than she could ever be. can hayley keep her sanity while also defending her family against inadu?
she'd seen bonnie in old photos with caroline and elena, yet had never met in person. they all said the witch moved away after the twins were transfered from josette to caroline. something eleanor always felt was smart since mystic falls ended up becoming a supernatural free zone. so yes, ellie was staring but not on purpose. the world was new to her, every color and smell felt more vibrant than before. it wasn't until the other spoke up, that the werewolf realized how long she'd been standing there. "oh umm, i'm so sorry, i just.....you look familiar."
it was odd being alive, so far she managed to hide from everyone. putting on a baseball cap and glasses to cover up any noticeable features. how was the public going to react if they saw a dead girl walking the streets?

It's become increasingly apparent the longer time ticks by that she's being watched. Naturally it is a little concerning given that in the near year she's been in New Orleans she's kept a low profile, hardly seeing anyone but it seems the more she comes out of her own shadows? The more she becomes a target, perhaps this is one of those moments. "If you have something to say now would be the time." Voice carries out though she hasn't looked up from the book she's writing in, fingers of free hand tap idly against porcelain cup, almost empty from the tea she'd been indulging in. "Or would you prefer to keep staring in silence?" @inaducursehqstarters
gabriela was blissfully unaware that raymis was alive. the two met each other when she was at her lowest. being a new demon, she had a bloodlust that couldn't be satiated and still full of immeasurable grief. it wasn't a time she allowed herself to think about, most of it was daze for her anyway. so she got ready for this event in good spirits, tyler was home and the kids all in one spot. it was hard for the demon to not feel a sense of pride and joy when seeing the people she loved together.
the demon's guard was still up, unsure of the reason for such a fancy party. expensive was the one word that came to mind when walking in the doors. everyone wore masks, making it hard to tell who was who, something that also put the woman on edge. their eyes scanned the main room, watching people as they drank and laughed, completely taken by the whole scene. it was a feeling she desperately wanted but was far too nervous to let in. it wasn't until she noticed kaya, sneaking towards the bar, her shoulders slouched but also tense, the exact way she got when upset. balling their fist in their dress, they quickly strutted towards their daughter. ready to tackle whatever had placed kaya in such a sour mood.
shaking her head softly, gabriela raised an eyebrow at the other "babygirl you are allowed to drink, but take your time the night has just started and i'm sure there is some rich people food we can always eat a little too much of." placing a soft hand on her shoulder, gabi sat down on the stool next to kaya and ordered a whiskey sour. "what happened? your shoulders are doing that thing they do when someone's pissed you off."
open to all ! event 001: masquerade, enchanted evening @inaducursehqstarters
Kaya, mystified by the lights and the music and the gowns, floated amongst the crowd. While her mask did conceal her face, she was certain almost everyone could tell who she was. There wasn't much anonymity to these things, at least not as much as she'd hoped.
She'd hoped to have a good night, prayed even. But when she'd spotted the demon across the room, she'd nearly fled all the way home. Instead, she stopped at the bar. The anger that rose into her throat when she saw him was nearly too much to bear.
Throwing a hand up to signal the bartender, Kaya ordered two shots, both for herself. She finished the first before the bartender finished pouring the second, then ordered one more for good measure. If she were to survive this crowded party full of all the scariest people in town, she would do it with a little extra confidence.
Unfortunately, someone caught her in the act. Not that she tried to be sneaky in her shot-taking, but she preferred not to be seen drinking her feelings. "What?" Kaya snarled. "It's a party."
being a new vampire was never easy, the transition took a lot of willpower and determination. something that you're still learning to acquire in your twenties. so hayley had a feeling charlie wasn't handling it well, hearing stories of him spending nights drunk on the street. she wanted to stop him sooner, but also knew how she had been during her transition. it wouldn't matter what someone said, all you want to do is wallow, but she felt her son had done enough of that. her eyes followed the drink, as it passed from the bartender to his lips, the hybrids chest grew heavy. shaking her head softly, she turned to face her son. "no, that's not it. something else is wrong but i can't put my finger on it yet."
honestly none of it really mattered right now, all she cared about was charlie's mental health. "mind if i ask how many drinks you've had tonight?" her voice was soft and gentle, hoping he would understand that she wasn't trying to interrogate. hayley's goal wasn't to make him feel bad, instead to just get a tiny glimpse into what was going on in his mind.
Charlie shrugged his shoulders at the sound of his mother's voice behind him. Observing the lively crowd engaged in conversation and dancing to the music, he acknowledged that the sole reason for his presence was the allure of free alcohol. His mask proved to be a valuable shield, concealing his emotions as he seamlessly merged with the festive atmosphere. "People are having too much fun," he quietly mumbled while accepting a drink from the bartender. Aware that his response may not have been what his mother expected, he felt indifferent towards her opinion at that moment.
