of course she rolled her eyes at him, because no matter how many years the two had been together, elijah still expected her to run when danger was close. that wasn't the hybrids nature, well not anymore, hayley refused to run after giving birth to hope. knowing that to make her past right, she would have to push on through and set a good example. as the years passed, it became part of her personality, being the one who stood her ground in the face of adversity. she would do it proudly, even now.
something was inside of her husband, using him like a puppet to cause destruction, but why? as elijah spoke, it sent a shiver down her spine because it wasn't his voice. it wasn't the tone of anyone she'd heard before. furrowing her brows was her only response before being thrown into a brick building, her back slamming into the hard wall. taking a deep breath was all that could be done, because soon whatever this thing was, stood above her. "oh i'm sure you'll make me suffer, isn't that your types whole deal? make others suffer instead of looking inward?" her tone was filled with sass, unable to hold it back from how much anger that sparked in her chest. allowing her face to soften, she looked into his eyes, speaking to him and not whoever was inside of him. "you are stronger than this, elijah. i know you are."
Elijah wanted nothing more than to rip his own heart out, desiccate himself. Anything to prevent what was happening. But when she spoke, his heart rate ramped up so much higher. His fear spiked. He knew she was in danger, but he didn’t know what this was. He didn’t know how to control it. He only knew he had fleeting moments. Letting go of the innocent, the mere struggle it took to meet her eyes nearly gave everything over to whatever was lingering in his body. “Hayley…” his voice is dangerous, because it’s a plea. Begging her to take off running without saying the words.
But instantaneously his shoulders relax and eyes are burning with a brightness that is nowhere near the steady soft brown of Elijah’s. The free hand snaps to her while the other settles for her throat. “Kò sa a se pou mwen kounye a. And you…. You can’t save him.” The hand at her throat lifts her so easily, a hand that had just only the night before touched her with such assured gentile. “How does it feel… to know this body, these memories will all be erased? I like this body. It’s strong.” The voice doesn’t match the face, the hiss, the accent heavy in creole twang. “And if you try to remove me… I’ll destroy it.” With that Hayley is launched clear across the street into the building made of brick, but the being inhabiting Elijah is right back on top of her. “Shall I spare you the pain of watching? Or make you suffer? Decisions, decisions….”
she wasn't sure why, but each day she spent alive the quieter her mind became. when all her anxious thoughts washed away, it was much easier to be around others. even with darkness lurking in the shadows, eleanor believed that she was getting her life back. nursing a gin and tonic, she began walking around the venue. watching as people giggled as they told each other stories, ever since coming back from the dead, she felt so disconnected from the world. as if she wasn't meant to be here anymore. the thought made her shiver, knowing that she should be dead instead of at a party.
with her mind darting from one horrible scenario to another, eleanor managed to bump into someone who was also trying to stay out of the spotlight. "oh my gosh i'm so sorry." grabbing some napkins from her pockets, she handed them to the other. "i spaced out and wasn't paying attention."

Heath sat on the edge of the gardens, doing what he did best: watching. His careful eye followed party-goers as he sipped beer from a plastic cup while seated on a fallen log. He wasn't working, exactly, but he couldn't turn off the need to observe. Besides, he wasn't really an engage in the social scene type of guy himself, so the outskirts were where he felt most comfortable regardless.
He kept his eyes peeled for any suspicious behavior, on the look out for the demon he and Ingrid were tracking, and eyes open for any of his other ongoing case subjects. Even off from work, there was no such thing as just enjoying an outing.

every other sunday, gabriela would go to the local farmers market, to pick up new produce for the bed and breakfast that tyler and her ran. the night before had been restless, tossing and turning as the a curse began across the city. doing their best to not yawn, gabi took a sip of her iced latte while examining a new batch of tomatoes. looking for just the right one, she reached for the same bright orange berry. pulling back, they gestured toward the other to take the fruit themselves. "you can have it, looks like there is another one just like it."
Smiles hide what secrets keep Can't tell a lie if you never speak Look in the mirror, she looks like me But half alive and twice as weak
Feel the tip of my nose It's burning but it's ice cold
No longer a danger to herself or others She made up her mind and laced up her shoes Yelled down the hall, but nobody answered So she walked outside without an excuse She can do anything she wants to She can do whatever she wants to do She could go home, but she's not going to
"no, he didn't leave me out here..." she trailed off trying to think of a better way to explain the ordeal, but she's exhausted and just wanted to rest. "i was dead and now i'm not. he doesn't know i'm alive, well no one does and i would just really appreciate it, if you could give me the tiniest break." eleanor didn't mean to be so blunt with her words and yet they spewed out of her with annoyance laced on each syllable. taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and pushed her shoulders back, before opening them again. "listen, i'm sorry, but i'm pretty sure i just spent a solid hour crawling my way out of a grave. i don't know what day or year it is...i don't know how much time has passed..."
"Did he leave you out here?" Damon asks, wondering what kind of mess he was walking into. "The good news is I can help with at least two of those things. Why don't you sit in the shade," he gestures towards his porch, "I'll get the house phone." He pauses, looking her up and down. "And maybe the hose."
hayley didn't regret the fight, even as she lay in bed bruised and battered she held no doubts in what transpired. klaus had managed to find her after inadu had their way. possessing elijah to attack and leave her for dead, deep down she knew it wasn't him. that he wasn't in control of the blows, the hybrid could see it in elijah's face, how his eyes would change from rage to sorrow. he fought so hard to not allow this outcome and she knew that in her heart. she would heal in time, much faster than most. but that brought no comfort, she felt defeated, until hope walked into the room.
the tribrid had grown into her name the moment she was born and proved every day that the name fit, even when hope couldn't see it she was exactly that. the light in the darkness. that tiny spark that kept the fight going. that was who hope was to hayley, so to hear her voice it provided a wave of calm. the hybrids body began the process of relaxing, placing her other palm on hope's face, she smiled weakly. "there was nothing you could babygirl. i'm okay i will heal and elijah isn't possessed anymore."
it was obvious, the guilt and terror that ran through her daughter and she wanted so badly to dim the rage that also bubbled, but she knew hope needed time with these things. the two were protective over each other and hayley knew that she would be picked every time in the tribrids eyes. "don't be mad at him for too long, it wasn't him that did this to me...."
𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐃. ⸺ ( @iknowthvnd ) location: hayley and elijah's home.
HER ENCOUNTER WITH ELIJAH, had left one single thought in the tribrid’s mind ( not she wouldn’t run to her mother first, whenever something happened ) but this was different, it involved hayley directly and it was that little detail that made rage inside of her swell, hope’s list of people to ‘ protect ‘ was extensive on a regular day but it was the list that contained the people nobody should MESS with that often made her react, a bit more violently than usual ( and that was saying something )
rushing inside of her family home, her like of sight was frantic as she zoomed from room to room, only allowing her gaze to soften as soon as she spotted her. rushing forward, the girl threw her arms around her, finally allowing the breath she’d been holding to release before she pulled back to meet the hybrid’s gaze ⸺ a silent acknowledgment, to let her know that she was with her, no matter what.
if there was one thing hope was confident of, it was exactly this. she’d fight a long side her mother for the rest of time, regardless of who it was that they were staring down. “ you’re okay.. “ she breathed with a shake of her head, eyes stinging a little as she reached for the woman’s hands, lacing them with hers, she squeezed tightly. “ mom, i’m so… “ what sorry? would that help? would the guilt she felt knowing that it should have been her and not her uncle, help anyone if she shared it? no. so instead she pulled the brunette in for another hug, that feeling of protection that came whenever she was near her mother enveloping her to the point that it felt overwhelming, but. in the best way possible.
Nell + her cup of stars
eleanor never actually made it into the ball, her nerves not allowing her to go any further than the steps, but with the events that unfolded she was now thankful. once seeing everyone else run, she decided to follow. there was one place she knew to go, the magic shop that she often visited before her death, a place she hadn't been in years. yet she knew the way and stumbled in, with messy hair and labored breaths. "yeah, i saw that but hunters they attacked the ball and everyone was running and i used to come here all the time so i thought it would be safe." the woman was rambling, a nervous tick some may say, but she had grown to just consider it part of her personality. "i'm sorry, really, i just need a moment."
fear swirled in her mind, wondering if everyone was safe that she cared for. then she began to curse herself for being such a coward and running away. tears filled her eyes and she allowed her shoulders to slouch forward in sadness.

something was wrong. she could feel it in the very air, an oppressive heaviness that seemed to cling to her skin ┈┈ weaving through the magic that enveloped them all. there had been a time when she longed for simplicity ┈┈ when lifting feathers ┈┈ lighting candles, and coaxing plants to grow were the pinnacles of her magical prowess. she reminisced about her travels, the joy of discovery, and seeing the world alongside the man she loved. but now, especially recently, a restlessness churned within her soul ┈┈ a silent call from the spirits that echoed in her bones. they sought a bennett witch ┈┈ and she felt the pull keenly. was it foolish to want to answer?
with a flick of her wrist ┈┈ one of the tomes flew off the shelf of her quaint shop on to the counter before her, its pages fluttering open under her magical command. her eyes narrowed as the door creaked open ┈┈ an unwelcome intrusion into her sanctuary. "pretty sure that sign says we're closed," she called out, her voice laced with warning. her magic ignited at her fingertips ┈┈ shimmering with a readiness to be unleashed.
"you sure? cause i only need a few tomatoes so it's no big deal." gabriela was calmer now, always fighting that darkness that lurked inside her. it was something she grew better at with age and time, her loving family also dulling any of that need for something other than love. yet every day was a struggle, her soul was free but she still wasn't human. "if you are grocery shopping for someone else i think they normally keep those orders in a special place." grabbing some random produce and placing it in her tote, gabi turned around to point towards the booth labeled pick up. "they give you a discount for helping others so make sure to take a look around. there is a stall whose blueberries are perfectly in season right now."
The boy relaxed against the stall, taking in the bustling market around him. "It's fine, I don't really need it," he mentioned casually. He couldn't quite pinpoint why he had decided to visit the market, perhaps just to pass the time, but then recalled that he needed to collect an order for his mother. "I'm just here to pick up an order, I suppose," he added with a shrug, flashing a smile at the girl as he stowed the order in his backpack slung over his shoulders.
hearing faith's voice pulled the siphoner out of her bad mood, a sigh of relief left her lips as she began picking up the papers on the floor. shaking her head with a giggle, josie looked up at her sister with a grin. "you're right this would be ten times worse if these papers were wet." placing what was needed in a folder, she got up and flattened out the edges of her skirt. grabbing the papers in the blondes hand, she tilted her head with a smile. "work was, well it was awful and i didn't sleep last night so i'm on edge, sorry about that."
there’s an ‘oof’ when the two collide, and faith’s attention immediately turns to the paper cup in her hand which she tries to balance out of spilling its content over. thankfully, the misfortune ends with her sister’s flying papers. “could be worse,” faith offers as she kneels down to help pick up some papers with her free hand, “i could’ve spilled your drink all over.” she lets a small laugh out.
So I gotta go I know, I know, I know When the sirens sound, you'll hide under the floor But I'm not gonna go down with my hometown in a tornado I'm gonna chase it I know, I know, I know this is a multi-muse blog for inaducursehq based in the tvd/to universe. tw; trauma, abuse, & death. 18+
