I hate price gouging, I hate AI, I hate stupid internet discourse, I hate shitty car-centric infrastructure, I hate fast fashion, I hate the meat industry, I hate inaccessibility, I hate corporate food waste, I hate the wealth disparity, I hate needing to work two jobs to live, I hate the police, I hate republicans, I hate the American two-party system, I hate education inequality, I hate homophobia and purity culture, I hate systematic racism and racists, I hate the patriarchy and misogyny, I hate the anti-trans culture war that threatens me and my partner and my friends, I hate the sex binary, I hate the gender binary, I hate cisnormative heteronormative, perisexnormative everything, I hate institutional violent intersexism, I hate white supremacy, I hate the fact my family members might be deported, I hate the erasure of some marginalized groups, I hate the violent hypervisibility of other marginalized groups, I hate war, I hate Donald Trump, I hate Netanyahu, I hate Biden and Kamala and every other politician, I hate neoliberalism, I hate colonialism, I hate capitalism, I hate imperialism, I hate fascism, I hate genocide.

And I hate that wanting to change this is fringe and radical. I hate that this is just accepted as normal. I hate that it seems like everyone gave up on a better world.

evangelicals being like "god made men to do This and be like This and women to do That and be like That that's just how it is" and it's just a picture of a white man and woman following traditional gender norms makes me so insane like you boring fascist fucks. god made 2 million species of beetles. god made whales, ducks, humans, and 1500 other species capable of same sex behavior. god made fish and amphibians that change sexes. god made more than 30 different intersex variations in human beings. god, in his infinite curiosity. wake up!!! fuck!!

While Call of Duty is still very much military propaganda, it is also ironically a very good criticism of the military.

We have Ghost, who is known as one of their best soldiers for his proficiency in the field. He's given everything to the military, he's the perfect soldier.

What we see from both the comics and the games, however, is that while Ghost tries his best in his work, the military hasn't given him shit back. He was captured and tortured for months on end, and after surviving all of that, his family is slaughtered, and was framed as their murderer.

What does the military give him in return? "Oh yeah we won't arrest you, but you have to work for us and and oh btw you're legally dead :3"

(I mean, they don't even give him a higher rank than Lieutenant for fuck's sake???)

Then in the games, we meet someone who finally brings Simon out of Ghost, and his name is John Soap MacTavish. Finally, Ghost gets one good thing out of the military, someone he can trust to watch his six.

AND WHAT HAPPENS??

Soap, Johnny dies. He's cruelly ripped away from Ghost because on military orders, Soap wasn't allowed to kill Makarov. There's no big ceremony for Soap, there's no flags or procession, his ashes are spread on the mountains to be forgotten by everyone but those closest to him.

No matter how much you give to the military, no matter how efficient you are, they do not give a fuck about you. You are just another body they can throw at the bullets to keep the fire away from them. You are a human shield that they do not view as a person.

Ghost deserved better. Soap deserved better. Every young person that the military roped into serving deserved better.

Listen. The Picture of Dorian Gray should not be hard to adapt. Drag Ben Whishaw or Nick Hoult or somebody out of the opium dens to play Lord Henry, it's not as if we're strapped for gorgeous dissolute twinks. Kidnap 20-year-old Heath Ledger from the year 1999 to play Dorian. Summon the ghost of Pier Paolo Pasolini from Hell and tell him that if he doesn't direct another indescribably awful gay arthouse pornohorror, the fascists will win. And - this is crucial - make it gay, but in the worst way possible. I want it to set the discourse back 15 years. People should walk out of the theater asking if gay marriage should be legal.
