summary: During a dangerous mission, John Reese gets shot in the arm, and Y/N's concern for his safety turns into frustration. Y/N passionately lectures John about the risks he takes and the importance of their team's well-being. To reassure Y/N, John gently holds their face in his hands, which leads to a charged moment of vulnerability between them.
The night was shrouded in darkness as John Reese and Y/N ventured into the heart of danger, their mission to dismantle a criminal operation. The tension in the air was palpable, a reminder of the risks they faced. As they navigated their way through a dimly lit warehouse, the sound of gunfire echoed through the corridors, the danger escalating with each passing moment.
Adrenaline coursed through their veins as they exchanged gunfire with the assailants, each move calculated and precise. In the midst of the chaos, a shot rang out, and John's arm was suddenly seared with pain. He gritted his teeth, the pain fueling his determination to protect Y/N and see the mission through.
After a fierce battle, they managed to fend off the remaining threats. But as the adrenaline began to ebb away, the reality of the situation sunk in. John leaned against a wall, his breathing heavy, and Y/N quickly moved to his side, concern etched on their face.
"John, are you okay?" Y/N asked urgently, their worry evident in their voice.
John's jaw clenched, his arm still throbbing from the gunshot wound. "I'll be fine," he replied, his tone gruff as he tried to downplay the pain.
Y/N's eyes narrowed, their concern giving way to frustration. "No, you won't be fine if you ignore this."
John's brow furrowed, surprised by the sudden edge in Y/N's voice. "I've had worse."
Y/N's frustration boiled over, their eyes flashing with anger. "That doesn't mean you should brush it off. You could have been seriously hurt!"
John's jaw tightened, but before he could respond, Y/N was in full lecture mode, their words a torrent of emotion and concern. "You're not invincible, John. You can't keep taking risks like this without consequences. We're a team, and we need you. I need you to be careful!"
John listened, his surprise giving way to a mixture of admiration and realization. Y/N's fiery determination to keep him safe was a testament to their care for him. But words were not enough to quell their concern. He needed to find a way to reassure them.
Without warning, he reached out and cupped Y/N's face in his hands, their eyes locking onto each other. Their words faded into silence as the intensity of the moment settled between them. Y/N's breath caught, their anger and frustration momentarily forgotten, replaced by a sense of vulnerability.
John's gaze softened, his voice gentle as he spoke. "I know you're worried, Y/N. And you're right, I should be more careful. But I also know that we make each other stronger."
Y/N's heart raced, their gaze locked onto John's, their frustration now mixed with a swirl of emotions they couldn't quite define.
John's thumb brushed over Y/N's cheek, his fingers warm against their skin. "We're a team, and I value your concern. But sometimes, we need to trust each other."
Y/N's voice wavered, their frustration melting away as they looked into John's eyes. "I do trust you."
In that moment, the air between them shifted, their unspoken connection reaching a new level of intimacy. John's gaze dropped to Y/N's lips, his own breath quickening. And then, with a blend of certainty and longing, he leaned in, capturing their lips in a kiss.
Time seemed to stand still as their lips met, a tender and passionate exchange that carried the weight of unspoken feelings. Y/N's initial surprise melted into a reciprocated desire, and they closed their eyes, allowing themselves to be swept away by the intensity of the moment.
When they finally pulled away, their breaths were mingled, their foreheads resting against each other's. John's voice was a mere whisper. "I promise to be more careful, Y/N."
Y/N's heart fluttered, and they opened their eyes, their gaze locking onto John's with newfound clarity and emotion. "And I promise to keep reminding you."
With a shared smile, they knew that their bond had grown stronger in the face of danger, their feelings now laid bare between them. The gunshot wound was a reminder of their vulnerability, but the kiss was a promise of their resilience—together.

In the bustling heart of the city, where danger and secrets lurked around every corner, John Reese and Y/N found themselves in yet another mission. The evening was awash with city lights as they posed as a couple attending a high-profile event, their goal to gather information on a suspected criminal operation.
Y/N had always been an enigma to John—a capable analyst and an invaluable member of the team, yet their demeanor around him was a stark contrast to their usual confidence. As the night progressed, John couldn't help but notice Y/N's unease whenever their eyes met or their hands brushed accidentally.
The ballroom was adorned with elegant decorations, a stark contrast to the underbelly of crime they were investigating. Y/N's pulse quickened as they navigated the crowd with John by their side, his presence both calming and exhilarating.
"Remember, we're a couple attending this event," John whispered, his voice low and reassuring as they mingled.
Y/N nodded, their heart racing not just from the mission but from the proximity of John's presence. "Got it."
As the night wore on, they exchanged whispered conversations, gathered intel, and maintained their charade flawlessly. But amidst the glamorous facade, Y/N's shyness continued to dance around them, evident in the way their gaze flitted away whenever John looked their way.
At a quiet moment, away from prying eyes, John's hand brushed against Y/N's arm, sending a tingle of warmth through them. "You're doing great," he murmured, his voice tinged with sincerity.
Y/N's lips curved into a shy smile. "Thanks, John. Your reassurance means a lot."
As the mission progressed, they found themselves stepping closer to each other, their roles as a couple intertwining with the genuine connection growing between them. The intensity of the mission was mirrored in the way their hearts raced whenever their fingers brushed or their eyes locked in unspoken understanding.
Later in the evening, as they stood on a balcony overlooking the city lights, John turned to Y/N with a smile that held a hint of vulnerability. "You know, you don't have to be so nervous around me."
Y/N's cheeks turned a delicate shade of pink, and they averted their gaze for a moment before meeting his eyes again. "I can't help it. You're… you."
John chuckled softly, his fingers grazing Y/N's hand as he took a step closer. "And who am I?"
Y/N's heart pounded in their chest, and their voice was barely above a whisper. "You're the strong, silent type. The one who faces danger without flinching. It's intimidating."
John's expression softened, his thumb caressing the back of Y/N's hand in a soothing gesture. "I'm just a person, Y/N. And you're not alone in feeling this way."
The vulnerability in his gaze matched the vulnerability in Y/N's heart. In that moment, the connection between them deepened, their unspoken feelings simmering beneath the surface.
"Maybe it's not just about being nervous," Y/N admitted, their voice gaining strength. "It's about wanting to make a good impression, to matter to you."
John's gaze held a warmth that sent Y/N's heart fluttering. "You matter, Y/N. You always have."
As the night came to a close and the mission concluded, they found themselves in the quiet of the library, the mission's intensity fading away. John's hand found Y/N's, their fingers intertwining with a newfound tenderness.
"Tonight was quite the adventure," John said softly, his gaze fixed on Y/N.
Y/N smiled, their shyness giving way to a sense of intimacy they hadn't felt before. "And it was made better by having you by my side."
John's smile was as genuine as it was rare, his gaze unwavering. "Y/N, there's something I've wanted to say."
Y/N's heart raced as they met his gaze, anticipation and hope mingling in their eyes. "What is it?"
John's thumb brushed over Y/N's knuckles, his voice carrying a depth of emotion that took their breath away. "I've come to care for you, more than I ever thought I would."
In that moment, as their hands remained entwined, their hearts found the courage to embrace the undeniable connection that had been growing between them. The city outside was quiet, but within the library walls, a new chapter of their story was just beginning—one filled with romance, vulnerability, and a love that blossomed in the most unexpected of places.
I know sometimes it makes folks nervous, so…

summary: the reader and john are going undercover for a mission and things go side ways. the reader ends up getting hurt and john helps them, although he is upset about it. while lecturing the reader, he accidentally let's his thoughts slip.
The mission had started like any other, with John Reese and Y/N going undercover to infiltrate a secretive organization. John was the stoic, experienced operative, and Y/N was the brilliant yet shy analyst who had surprised everyone with their quick thinking and determination. As they blended into their new identities, neither of them could predict just how sideways things would go.
The air was thick with tension as they navigated the dimly lit room, surrounded by individuals who could sniff out deception with ease. Y/N's nerves were palpable, and John could sense their unease. He shot them a reassuring glance, his eyes locking onto theirs for a moment. Y/N's cheeks flushed, but the exchange gave them a small boost of confidence.
As the night progressed, they exchanged coded glances and played their roles impeccably, gathering valuable information. But in the midst of the chaos, a suspicious figure grew wary of them. Before they could react, a scuffle broke out, and shots echoed through the room. John managed to fend off the attacker, but not without a struggle.
Y/N, caught in the crossfire, had managed to avoid the gunfire, but they stumbled and fell, hitting their head against the corner of a table. John's heart raced as he dispatched the threat, then rushed to Y/N's side.
"Y/N, are you alright?" he asked urgently, his concern evident in his eyes.
Y/N groaned, their hand instinctively reaching for the throbbing pain on their forehead. "I-I think so," they managed to stammer.
But as John helped Y/N to their feet, he noticed the trickle of blood on their forehead. His jaw clenched, and anger flashed in his eyes as he berated himself for not protecting them better.
"We need to get you out of here," John said, his voice tight with worry. He led Y/N through a maze of corridors, his senses on high alert.
They finally found a safe spot, hidden from prying eyes. John's hands were gentle as he inspected the wound, his touch sending shivers down Y/N's spine. "You're lucky it's not too deep," he muttered, cleaning the wound with a cloth he had in his pocket.
Y/N winced at the sting, but the warmth of John's touch was oddly comforting. "I'm sorry things went wrong," they mumbled.
John's gaze softened as he looked at them, his fingers brushing a strand of hair away from their face. "It's not your fault. We'll get through this."
As he continued tending to their wound, John's lecturing began. He chided Y/N for not being cautious enough, for letting their nerves get the best of them. "You need to be more aware of your surroundings," he admonished, his voice firm.
Y/N nodded, their cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "I'll try to do better next time."
John sighed, his gaze meeting Y/N's for a moment. And then, almost as if it slipped out unintentionally, he muttered, "You know, I can't afford to lose you."
Y/N's heart skipped a beat at the intensity in his eyes and the weight of his words. Did he just…?
"What?" they managed to stammer, their voice barely a whisper.
John's expression turned slightly startled, as if he hadn't meant to reveal his thoughts. He cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. "I mean, we're a team, and I need you to be on your game."
But Y/N could see through the facade. There was something more in his eyes, a depth of emotion he hadn't meant to show.
With a newfound courage fueled by the rush of adrenaline and the vulnerability of the moment, Y/N reached out and placed a hand over John's, which was still holding the cloth. "John," they began softly, their voice carrying a hint of hesitancy, "I appreciate your concern. And… I need you to know that I'm grateful to have you watching out for me."
A ghost of a smile played on John's lips, and his eyes softened. In that moment, their unspoken connection deepened, and amidst the chaos of their undercover mission, their hearts found a way to communicate what words had trouble expressing.
As John's fingers intertwined with Y/N's, he seemed to lose himself in their gaze. "Y/N," he murmured, his voice lower than before, "I never want to see you hurt."
Y/N's heart swelled with emotion, and a surge of courage overcame their shyness. "John," they whispered, their voice barely audible, "I feel safe when you're around."
The vulnerability of their words hung in the air, a quiet admission that transcended the danger surrounding them. John's expression softened further, his walls crumbling in the face of their honesty.
And so, in the heart of danger and vulnerability, two souls drew closer, bound by more than just their mission. Their eyes spoke volumes, and as the night grew darker, the bond between them grew stronger, laying the foundation for something that neither of them could deny any longer.

“Frank!” Y/N yelled as they walked through the front door.
“In the bathroom, babe!” Y/N heard Frank yell from up the stairs. They took off their jacket and walked to Frank.
“What the fuck are you-“ Y/N eyes went wide when they saw their partner cutting his hair. “Are you trying to do reverse revenge..?” Frank giggled and looked at Y/N.
“I was bored.” He shrugged and looked back into the mirror, continuing to cut his recently dyed hair. “I’m making a video for my Instagram, wanna say hi to the camera?” Y/N jumped in front of the phone and waved.
“Hi to the camera!” They giggled and hugged Frank. He smiled and licked Y/N cheek. “What the fuck, you rat!” They both giggled.
“How dare you call me a rat, you mother fucker!”
“Mother fucker is right! You should ask your mum if she can walk!” Frank laughed and hit Y/N in the shoulder. They just smiled into the camera, then turned back to Frank. “What do you want for dinner?”
“Chinese?” He looked at Y/N with puppy dog eyes.

“Hey, babe?” Ethan called out into the small, but cozy, house. All he got was a weird noise, maybe a snort, coming from the living room. He walked into the room to see Y/N laughing at Spencer as he was rolling around on the carpet. They looked at Ethan when they a chuckle.
“Hi Eef!” Y/N had jumped up from the floor and hugged the brunette. Ethan giggles and embraced them.
“Me and Mark are starting a live stream, do you want to join?” As a response, Y/N ran into the kitchen, grabbing as many snacks as they could carry.
“Are you coming?” Y/N called back at Ethan who was standing, shaking his head at his partner with a smile on his face.
“Yup!” He jogged towards his little ‘gaming room’ where he has his PC set up.
“Dude, where were you- OH HI Y/N!!” Mark waved and smiled at the giggling person walking into the room. Y/N waved back and hugged the camera as Mark was at his own house.
“I was getting asking Y/N if they wanted to join.” Ethan pulled a chair out for Y/N and the chat exploded with comments about it.
“Ethan! Look! They loves you.” Mark made a dreaming look on his face, poking fun at the couple.
“I know they love Ethan, but they like me so much more.” Y/N replied sassily. The three of them laughed at the little joke while the chat agreed with them.

After a while of playing Phasmaphobia together, Y/N had quit to watch the two man-children scream at the small scares on the screen.
“NO NO! ETHAN, SHE KILLED ME!!” Mark screamed as the ghost had covered his screen with her hands. Both Ethan and Y/N had laughed at his behaviour. “Hey! That’s not nice.”
“Well, your not nice!” Y/N poked their tongue out at the man. Ethan laughed again and laid his head on their shoulder.
“Ew! Stop making love in front of these poor children!” Mark screamed, once again, and covered his eyes jokingly. Ethan was red in the face and Y/N was making suggestive faces towards the camera.
“We- I- We weren’t-“ Ethan was stumbling over his own words as Y/N and Mark laughed at his adorable behaviour.

It was a rainy and stormy night and Y/N was staring out the window. They didn’t hear the jingle of keys nor the door opening. Frank was at the studio, but Gerard had told him that he could go see Y/N. As Frank had walked into through the door, he was about to call for Y/N but saw them sitting on the windowsill. He saw the little shudder of their shoulders and snatched the blanket off the couch.
“Here,” He laid the soft cover over their shoulders and hugged them “how was your day?” Y/N shrugged.
“I’m tired...” They yawned and curled into the short man.
“Let’s get you to bed then.” Frank then picked up Y/N bridal style and walked up the stairs into their shared room.
“Frankie?” Y/N whispered. He hummed in response and smiled, looking at his partner. “How was your day? I wanna know.” Y/N smiled at their boyfriend and kissed his cheek. As Frank lied them down, he chuckled.
“It was wonderful. We finished recording Prison today. I’d say we did a good job.” He lied down next to Y/N and hugged them once again.
“That’s good...” Y/N sighed and hugged Frank back. “I’m gonna sleep now.” Frank chuckled as this response and closed his eyes, pulling the covers over the two of them.
