the bond between a girl and their favorite fictional man is both an unstoppable force and an immovable object
bc all i think abt is college!katsuki
Katsuki Bakugou is the epitome of the type of friend where you don’t actually know if you are friends.
It started off slow and gradual; a head nod when you sat next to him in class for the first time. You didn’t think much of it at first—just Bakugou being Bakugou, cold and distant as can be. But then came the day the professor prompted the class to discuss the reading with the person next to you. Oh boy.
Distant caves would be jealous of him as he offered impressive silence. He sat there with his arms crossed, glaring at the textbook like it had personally offended him. You tried your best to speak about the text, feeling the weight of his weightless replies, and occasionally he’d grunt or nod, but the conversation resembled your middle school talent show performance. Awkward, yes, but not surprising for a college class.
Still, you found yourself sitting next to him every couple of days, the unspoken rules of college and assigned seating habits pulling you back into his orbit. You tried to be kind, offering small talk here and there, but Bakugou always brushed you off with a grunt or a glare. He was prickly, always on edge, and you figured that was just how he was.
You were like this too on most days. After having your fair share of college-creep experiences you laid off the whole talking to people bit. But there was this exception you made for Bakugou. Not an exception but a curiosity of some sorts. Hell, you also were never good at math but you were on edge to solve the missing variable that is Katsuki Bakugou. Seriously, what's his deal?
Maybe it was the way he didn’t care of how he seemed, it could be the mystery or maybe it was just the fact he looked like he was carved by Lysippos sitting by you at 9 a.m. lecture. Those thoughts were in the back of your mind… you even wonder if Bakugo is good at math? maybe then he could help.
But then there were these odd moments, moments where his usual gruffness gave way to something else. Like the day you mentioned how thirsty you were, sitting there in that old, sweltering classroom with no air conditioning. Bakugou rolled his eyes, muttered something about “are you always unprepared?” (he lent you a pen once before) but then wordlessly reached into his bag and handed you a water bottle.
“Thanks,” you say, trying to match his nonchalant demeanor. Trying to let it go.
But the gesture stuck with you. He didn’t acknowledge it, didn’t say anything more. He just went back to his notebook like nothing happened. Typical. But you couldn’t shake the feeling of slight butterflies in your stomach, even if you tried to brush them off as nothing.
Things continued in much the same way. Bakugou, still gruff and abrasive, but every now and then, something would slip through the cracks. A quiet moment of consideration, a begrudging act of kindness. He never let you get too close, but there was always that flicker of kindness. Of Bakugou. The real him, you think.
It was a rainy afternoon when you found yourself stranded at a bus stop with him. The two of you had just finished class, and the rain came out of nowhere, pouring down in quick splatters. You both stood under the narrow shelter that barely helped. Bakugou was glaring up like he was challenging the sky to a duel while his hands shoved deep into his pockets.
He didn’t acknowledge you at first. And you didn’t think he would.
“You’re gonna catch a cold standing out here,” he grumbled suddenly, his voice low and annoyed.
Before you could reply, he was already shrugging off his jacket and, without looking at you, shoved it in front of you. He urged you to take it but you blinked in surprise, not knowing how to react.
But then, you felt the weight of the jacket warm and heavy on your skin. The scent of him—something sharp and clean—lingered in the fabric.
“Bakugou, you don’t have to—”
“Shut up. I don’t need your thanks,” he muttered, not meeting your gaze. He chose to stare at the rain instead.
“Thank you.”
He rolled his eyes but from that moment, something shifted. The dynamic between you two wasn’t any less tense, and he still barked at you when you got on his nerves, but the hostility had softened, just a little. There was still sharpness in his words, but now mixed in with these brief, unexpected moments of kindness? (for Bakugou, normal for everyone else)
The day before your big exam, you sat next to him in class, anxiety buzzing in your stomach. “Are you ready for tomorrow?” you asked, peeking over at him.
“Yeah,” he grunted, eyes not leaving his textbook.
You turned back to your seat, mentally patting yourself on the back for initiating (yet another) pointless conversation. But then, after a pause, Bakugou spoke again.
“Wanna review the material after class?”
You blinked, a little caught off guard, but quickly nodded. “Sure.”
And so after class, he led the way to the library, not even waiting for you to catch up. He moved with purpose, his sharp eyes scanning the room for a quiet, secluded spot. When he finally sat down and pulled out his notes, you were surprised to see how meticulously organized everything was—color-coded, labeled, every detail in its place. So he probably is good at math? You were definitely getting somewhere.
He started drilling you with questions, breaking down complicated concepts with a precision you hadn’t expected. His intensity was relentless, but it pushed you to focus, to work harder, and slowly, your understanding of the material started to click into place.
Hours passed in a blur, and the sun began to set outside the windows. The two of you were still going over definitions when Bakugou glanced over at you. “You get it now?”
“Yeah,” you said, a small smile on your lips. “Thanks, Bakugou.”
“Good,” he muttered, turning back to his notes, but something about the way he said it felt less harsh than usual.
But all this time of him testing you made you want to test him. Probably because you suspected how sexy he’d look getting every question right…
You smirked, feeling a little bold. “Aw, not you caring if I understand the material.”
He shot you a glare and his face twitched like he was holding back a grin. “I don’t,” he snapped, though his tone lacked the usual bite.
“You just looked so damn scared earlier, it was pathetic.”
You faked a small gasp at that. He wanted to laugh.
“Aww, are you worried about me being sad?” you teased, leaning in a little closer. “It’s almost like we’re friends or something.”
“Shut up,” he growled, his face turning slightly red.
That’s not a no, you think. You laughed, the sound light in the quiet library, and for the first time, you saw a hint of a smile tug at the corner of his mouth, barely there, but real.
Quaint and underneath all his surroundings lied Bakugou Katsuki. Almost as if he were labeled X in some math problem.
So yeah… he’s cold and mean and gruff, but… you know he has your back with exams… and when you’re cold, and when you say you're thirsty, and when you need something nice to look at. Definitely, Katsuki Bakugou is your friend…
That happens to have a massive crush on you.
(… and unashamedly, so do you.)
percy watches his cabin door intently as he hears someone rattle the doorknob. “hello?” he shouts. suddenly you get the door open, mascara running and heels in hand. he immediately reaches out for you, and you follow. “hey, sweetheart. what’s wrong?” he asks as he envelops your body, reeking of tequila. “went to that thing you told me to with annabeth. not fun.” you say, sniffling into his shirt. “what happened?” he asks with concern growing in his eyes, worried something may have gone wrong.
“nothing happened,” you grumble. “just missed you a lot and got drunk to make it go away, then it wouldn’t so i kept going.” you slowly breathe in his scent, bringing you comfort. “poor baby,” he chuckles, glad that the only thing you did was miss him. you continue to take deep, manual breaths. “all the girls were dancing with their boyfriends and having fun-“ you cut yourself off with a ragged breath. “and it made me realize i don’t like doing things without you.”
percy smiles at your words, affection in his eyes as you prop your chin on his chest. you gaze into each others eyes for a while. “why are you looking at me like that?” you say, hiccuping. percy rolls his eyes at you with a smirk. “can i not look at you in all your glory?” he asks, bringing a cheesy grin to your face as he takes his thumb and wipes a black tear off your stained face. “you’re such a dork, jackson” you say as you lay your head back down on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.
“you know you love it though,” he replies, rubbing light circles on your back as you fall asleep.

you slip up in your sparring practice earlier and continue to bash yourself for slipping up. “gods that was so embarrassing” all of a sudden percys hand grabs your shoulder to turn you around and make eye contact. “mama, the past behind you. mama, a million experiences await you.”
“get the fuck off me seaweed brain.”

you and katsuki weren’t dating or anything, but it didn’t seem like the two of you were just friends either. maybe a secret third thing?
now that you think about it, you and katsuki were unusually close. but you’ve always just thought it was casual, right? just friendly things that friends do?
like, he’ll always find a way to touch you. if the two of you are walking through a crowded hallway at school, you’ll feel his hand resting on your back, just to keep you close as the crowd pushes through.
or sometimes, when the class goes on a field trip, he makes sure he gets to sit next to you.
you’ll immediately feel the warmth of his thigh pressing against yours as he plops down in the seat next to you, your shoulder brushing against each others.
“here,” katsuki says, shoving a protein bar into your hands. “i know ya’ didn’t eat anything yet, idiot.”
“thanks katsuki, how’d you know?” you ask him, opening it up.
he shrugs. “‘cause i pay attention. no big deal.”
you hummed in response as you gazed at the two of your legs still touching. katsuki didn’t seem to mind it at all. there was just something so domestic about it all. even when sometimes you’d lay your head on his shoulder, on purpose just to mess with him, it wouldn’t work because he always let you.
you and katsuki were laying on the couch in the common area together, and you suddenly decided to lean back on him, your back to his chest.
you expected for him to at least give you some attitude, since he never lets anyone touch him. you know he hates it. weirdly enough, he didn’t say anything. in fact, you felt him shift closer to you, getting comfortable.
“aw, you’re really not gonna push me away? thought you hated people touching you?”
he snaps, “whatever,” before draping his arm around your shoulder, pulling you even closer.
everyone knows bakugou doesn’t have many people he would consider his friend. maybe except one person.
kirishima had been noticing how different his best friend had been acting, and he just had to bring it up.
“leave me alone, shitty hair”
“dude, you spend almost all of your time with her!”
“your point?”
“you like her.”
katsuki scoffs, “shut the hell up.”
“just saying, man.” kirishima nudges him, “its funny”
katsuki glared at him. “what’s fucking funny?”
kirishima gave him a look. “the way you act like it isn’t a thing.”
“you’re fucking annoying.”
“maybe. but im right, huh?” he teases.
he doesn’t answer right away, instead, he hesitates and scoffs.
“that wasnt a no.” kirishima smiles at him.
“i said, leave me alone.” katsuki says before storming off.
the next day, it was rainy after school, and of course katsuki was waiting for you by the doors with an umbrella so the two of you could walk back to the dorms.
his face softens when he sees you, and he grabs your bag, tossing it over his shoulder like he always does, before opening the umbrella waiting for you to step under it.
“took ya’ long enough,” he says as you two begin walking in the rain. “thought i was gonna be here waitin’ all day”
“you waited for me?”
“duh. knew you wouldn’t have an umbrella.” he shifts closer to you naturally, “and i always walk you back to your dorm don’t i?”
“yeah, but, dunno, it’s just kinda sweet.” you say softly.
he scoffs, “like i was gonna leave your dumbass.”
you nod and feel your heart jump at his words. was this casual? the thought of this possibly being something more had been eating at you all week, and you just had to speak up.
“y’know, people think we’re dating.”
he looks down at you, then grumbles, “so what?”
“what, you dont care? you’re not gonna.. i dunno, deny it?” you ask, gazing at him.
he just kind of pauses and shrugs, and you swear you notice a slight blush on his cheeks. “let ‘em think whatever they want.”
you blinked in surprise. really? was that it? no argument? before you could make any sense of it, or say anything back, he just grabbed your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours, the touch unexpected, but so so familiar.
you didn’t end up saying anything else, and neither did he. the two of you just continued walking, hand in hand.

- completely inspired by this post!
y'know how kittens scream bloody murder and alter their voices when they're left alone but immediately pull a 180 when they get attention ? katsuki. it's him it's him and he's so irritating about it.
the moment he feels you've been gone for too long, he starts belting, singing–screeching your name until you show up. he just doesn't seem to notice how hard it makes you shit your pants when he pulls that kind of stunt.
you're sure he can hear the way you stomp like a herd of elephants all the way from the living room, you're ready for a fire, a burglar –anything.
you find your boyfriend calmly munching on some chips scrolling on his phone.
you're convinced you've lost your mind when he blinks back at you calmly, like he expected you to explain yourself.
"katsuki."
"mm ?" his cheeks puff out a little as he chews another handful of chips.
you feel your fingers twitch "what the hell was that ?! why'd you scream ?"
he has the nerve to furrow his brows "didn't scream. you weren't responding when i was callin' you normally, i just spoke louder."
"you didn't speak–you yelled my name out like you were getting bludgeoned." you wheeze out.
katsuki huffs, putting his phone down next to him on the couch. a slight pout forms onto his face "..well why were you gone so long ?"
"i was peeing." you deadpan, eyes wide. "i was in the bathroom, i told you that."
silence. and more silence, then katsuki discards his bowl of chips and reaches for your arm "well ya took too long. c'mere." before pulling you towards him and squeezing his head into your shoulder.
it's even worse when you don't tell him you're leaving. it could be the middle of the night with him having to wake up early the next day. you could've just gone to get a glass of water and moments later he's screeching like a banshee. you're used to it by now and after chugging down your drink with a "coming !" he's already practically wide awake (ignore his eyes drooping and the very loud yawn he let out and quickly tried to shut his mouth when you walked in) arms crossed and sitting up in bed. he'll give you a quick once over and huff, that pout again, and he speaks.
"where'd you go ? don't jus' leave like that. ." you hum, going along with his every complaint of how you 'took too long'. he shoves your head into his chest like you're a plushie and noses at your shoulder. you feel him mutter against your skin before falling asleep again."had me worried 'bout you an' shit. ."
katsuki feels a sudden urge.
it's something he barely feels before it's a little too late and it's all he can feel anymore. like a small teeny itch that you just can't scratch, that you just can't reach.
you're sitting across from him, and you're chewing. you're focused on your phone, so you haven't offered some of your food to him yet but that was fine, that wasn't what he wanted right now.
an itch, it itches at him. his fingers twitch. he's grip on his pen loosens. his pen—what was he doing again ?
oh, right, you're studying. you'd study together often so he could help you out with material you didn't get and sometimes if you behaved and whined enough he'd let you copy his notes (although he'd much rather help you solve the problems yourself.) but you're taking a break now because you said you were hungry. you're studying on the floor because there's not enough room for you both on his bed, and he'd get pissy of you got crumbs on it.
and now you're eating, and oh—you're talking to him now.
you're offering him a bite of your food, like he expected you to but that's not what he wants. surely, you know that right ? that's why you were tempting him like this, with your puffed out cheeks and your full mouth.
fuckin' tease.
"katsuki ?" you tilt your head in confusion, blinking at him so innocently. "you don't want a bite ?"
and he blinks, seemingly back to his senses with your question. he nods "yeah.." he mutters lowly.
he sure as hell wants a bite.
"yeah—yeah, gimme some.." he finishes, voice uncharacteristically low for the simple little question you'd asked him. you smile at him, brightening up at his response, your cheeks rise up like the sun. you're obviously trying to draw him in, aren't you ? tease.
your boyfriend leans in, leans in so slow despite him not being that far away from you except he dodges your fork—and he tilts his head like he's going to kiss you so you suck in a breath and you're about to close your eyes and then—
chomp !
you yip in surprise at the feel of katsuki's teeth in your cheek. he'd completely dodged your food and went straight for you. you're so stunned you don't move, and when he leans back his cheeks are pink and he squints, like he's unsure and his eyes dart around your face like he's nervous, then he bites your nose.
that's when you snort loudly, gripping his cheek to push him away "katsuki ! the food—a bite of the food not me !" you chortle, and you can see the way he smiles with his teeth still in you "let go !" you cry, pushing him away. it has the opposite effect of course because your katsuki is a contrarian and a little shit through and through. so he's pushing his weight onto you until he's toppling you over, luckily he goes extra slow to mess with you so you can push your bowl of food out of the way. you laugh as he pushes you to the floor and nips at you: your ears, nose, shoulders and he gives extra attention to your cheeks.
"what's the matter with you ?" you wheeze, voice holding unadulterated confusion. holding onto his shoulders to ground yourself after his random burst of energy. he smirks, also slightly out of breath.
"you asked me if i wanted a bite."
"of the food !" you shriek, and you can't help but laugh "you're so weird !"
he shrugs, lopsided smile still on his face and he can't help himself, the itch is gone now, but he still leans forward to bite your cheek.
"shoulda been more specific."
iwaizumi attacking you with wet kisses all over your face while you’re bathing in the sun after he comes out from the pool soaking wet.
you’re laying on a chair beside the pool, bathing in the sunny glow that graces your skin with a comforting warmth. not in the mood for a dip, you flip through the pages of your book leisurely as you enjoy the summer heat.
iwaizumi climbs up the ladder out of the pool, all done cooling off in the water. he grabs the neatly folded towel resting on the lounge chair saved for him right next to yours, quickly patting off the beads of water resting on his skin before ruffling the cloth through his short spiky hair. the view is nice. the summer view is nice too—the buzz of bees flying around and yellow dandelions scattered across the lawn—but the real view is the whole 179.3 centimeters standing tall next to you.
“why didn’t you join me in the water?” he asks, squinting as the sun hits his eyes.
“didn’t feel like getting wet,” you say, eyes still trained on the words on your page.
“i can get you wet,” he says with a cheeky grin, one that doesn’t falter even as you wack the book into his thigh.
he chuckles, leaning down and beginning to pepper wet open mouthed kisses all over your face. the water still remnant on his lips wipes all over you as he presses them on your cheeks, your forehead, your temple, your jaw, the tip of your nose, practically anywhere else he can reach, and then finally your lips.
in the midst of his banter you laugh, trying to fight him to no relent. “iwa, stop! you’re getting me all wet!”
“can’t help it. you look gorgeous in that bathing suit,” he murmurs, trying to find any sort of real estate he can to press his lips on.
you put the book down, using your hands to try and claw at his face and push it away. he’s too persistent in slobbering all over your face like a dog for your attempts to work, though. he just starts kissing your palms until they feel numb.
once he’s finally done attacking you with his kisses, he pulls away and simply stays there in front of you, leaning over the chair and grinning at you, his face not even inches away from yours.
“what?”
“nothing,” his teeth are still bared, his smile reaching from ear to ear.
“you’re grinning like an idiot for no reason. i don’t see what’s so funny.” with another scolding yet playful slap of your book to his leg, you open up the page you had dog eared and try to continue reading without his disruption.
to no surprise, it’s pointless as he continues to try and press as many of your buttons as he can. “you look really pretty under the sun.”
you glance up from the words on the page, mouth open and ready for a witty remark. you fall flat at the sight of him, though. the suds still on his face and the wet strands of hair clinging to his forehead make all of the blood in your body flood to your cheeks. every one of his perfections—because in your eyes he has no imperfections—are perfectly complimented by the sun’s rays that highlight his tan skin and the contours of his stupidly handsome face.
the thoughts rushing through your mind make you fall short, and the words you look pretty under the sun too almost slip out before you can catch them. you want to tell him that, but you’re supposed to be irritated with him for slobbering all over your face. sticking to the script, you just look away and try to focus on reading. but iwaizumi can tell you’re just lost in your thoughts when your gaze doesn’t move across the page.
you catch the way his grin fades into a more genuine smile of the sorts, one that shows he’s really happy over you becoming a blushing mess because of him and not just trying to tease you into oblivion.
from the spot in his own lounge chair that he’s taken while you’ve been processing what had just happened, you hear him speak. “join me in the pool now?”
that earns him a book thrown at the head and a loud, firm, no.
