there are so many post-game fics where connor and hank are buddies in the dpd and i’m like … i do NOT think connor would want to go back to the dpd. i don’t think he’d ever want to be beholden to somebody else’s concept of law, or relive what it’s like to be a tool in the systemic oppression of others. he achieves deviancy by deliberately Not Doing His Job, and his role when he was a cop was that of an antagonist. his breakpoint is the moment when he realizes that justice and law aren’t interchangeable, and that to choose justice would be to embrace deviancy, autonomy. post-game connor wouldn’t be working for the police, he’d be leaking corporate coverups en masse holy fucking bingle style
