“Appeal to a wider audience” is corporate lingo for “strip more themes from a piece of media so it’s safer and more sanitized for investors”

hi you may want to read this if you live in the US and are a trans minor, supporting a trans minor, or are a teacher/school official for kids k-12.
soooo... from what i just read in horror on whitehouse.gov, it's essentially going to be illegal moving forward for teachers to support trans kids in any way, shape, or form.
it sounds like this includes school counselors assisting with students' transition with things like using their correct name and pronouns, or just counseling them through their transition at all. not sure if this means school officials will just be completely silenced on this matter or essentially be forced to .. force kids to de-transition or stay in the closet.
it sounds like any school official definitely will be forced to deadname and misgender trans youth in school, and face legal repercussions and/or lose their jobs if they don't
here's the excerpt i found about this in the executive order "ending radical indoctrination in k-12 schooling" on the official whitehouse site:
(note specifically part iii)
here is what they define as "social transition":
so yeah basically. i dont know. im terrified for our trans youth in america right now.
im in shock and not really able to give any advice right now other than if you are close with a trans youth please support them, check in on them, keep them safe.
remind them that life is worth living and there are people out there fighting for them. if anyone has any other insight or advice please feel free to add to the post.
and yeah just please stay safe out there bc shit is getting scary. to all my trans siblings of all ages i love you. please keep living, even if just to spite this nasty motherfucker.
it's like, very clear that young adults and late teens who want to be freaky queers with eye numbing aesthetics are in the right direction towards understanding sexual liberation and queer history but are clearly not strong enough to leave their lil private discord servers where they lolcow "problematic" transfems and other "unacceptable" queer people
gen z we gotta stop TALKING about revolution and just DO IT. i know we're screen kids and the internet is a large part of our lives but the only way to get the people in power to listen us is meeting them at their level in the streets and fucking shit up. they don't care what we're saying on the internet. remember in history class saying how we would've killed hitler given the chance. well now is our chance.
hiiii im kinda late to the blue eye samurai party but uhhh idk if im having gender envy or am in love or both. but yeah anyway he'res my first post on tumblr hello tumblr
made a lil infographic thing for a spore print i did recently! my first amanita muscaria so i feel like it deserved a proper tribute
my infographic! the flag redesign and symbol are also both mine ꒱
can also be shortened to GP movement
we DESPERATELY need this movement because trump is destroying the rights of LGBTQ+ (especially trans people right now), and i want our voices heard!! our body, our fucking choice!! neither nature or biology adhere to the male/female binary!! hrt and gender-affirming surgeries is life-saving and extremely beneficial healthcare, more people regret having children than medically transitioning!! i'm tired of rich old cis men making decisions about what's best for my body!! i'm a proud nonbinary transsexual who uses neopronouns!!! i just want a happy and normal life like everyone else!! is that too much to ask for?? I JUST WANT BASIC FREEDOM AND EQUALITY TO EVERYONE ELSE.
Hey hey, as a librarian, can I just say don’t pace yourself at the library. I get a lot of customers saying “oh I shouldn’t get too many books out at once” but like you should!!!! Max out your card, take everything we have on a subject you’re interested in, make a book fort in your home. We love that shit! It doesn’t matter if you read them or not; just take them for an adventure and bring them back whenever they’re due!
For public libraries, one of the ways we secure funding year to year is lending. Governments don’t want to fund more books if they’re not being used and the way we measure use is by issues. Regardless of whether you read it or not, whether you have it for a day or a month, if you issue it to your library card, we get the stats! It makes the library look good!
Help your local library; get books out even if you know you can’t read them all!
