I Cant Actually Believe That Anyone Can Interpret Hits Different To Be About A Man, I Was Trying To Explain

i’m not gaylor or whatever you call it but friendly reminder that Hits Different wasn’t written about Joe because it is linguistically impossible for that song to be about a man. here’s why:

1. the way taylor describes herself in Hits Different -> “you made a mess of me, i threw up on the street, i’d just ghost these Kens and skip town like an asshole outlaw, sun burns my heart and the sand hurts my feelings, my sadness is contagious, i stopped receiving invitations, cried over a hat, cursed the space that i needed, have they come to take me away?” she literally says that she feels as if they’ve come to take her away to a mental asylum. these are all negative attributes right?

2- the way Taylor describes the person she loves in Hits Different -> “the one that i loved, dreams of YOUR hair and YOUR stare and YOUR sense of belief, you once believed in me”

which one here seems to be fit to be called “dream girl” ? i think it is crystal clear. and if you remove the adjectives, it is literally

“bet i could still melt your world, girl”

This is such an interesting point because why would we be seeing so much of him if it wasnt for publicity????? I have quite literally never seen this man in the public eye more than like twice and those times were only because he was being a weirdo creep at his concerts

Taylor hid Joe from us like buried treasure for 6 YEARS and I’ve seen more Matty Healy in the last 3 days than I’ve ever seen of him in my whole life. What happened to Mrs. “romance is not dead if you keep it just yours”?
