For those who don't know me, I will tell you my story
This is me Farah, I am 18 years old and I live in the Gaza Strip
Before the war, I lived in our house in the northern Gaza Strip and studied to get a good grade and study medicine abroad
(our home before)
But the war came, education stopped, and we had to evacuate our house after the occupation bombed our neighborhood with fire belts on November 13, 2023.
(our street before& after)
We were displaced on the Salah al-Din Road through the safe corridor. We saw nightmarish scenes there: corpses on the road, body parts, the body of a pregnant woman, bombed cars with body parts inside, and the soldier almost ran over my sister, but we survived. We walked for about 5 hours under the sun while I was on my period. I carry heavy bags
We lived in a tent in Rafah and our tent was burned in a nearby bombing
My father was arrested during the events in Khan Yunis and they tortured him severely
(Traces of torture on my father's body)
Now we are displaced in Deir al-Balah and live in a tent
(our tent)
Our house in the north was bombed on 7/23/2024
(Our house after the bombing )
We are now without any shelter

Any Tips on how to go about foreshortening?
Haha! No but seriously, I personally wing it. But Iāll do my best to explain my process! First, letās take the art that I ~think~ influenced this ask:
So in order to figure out the perspective, I always have to have a 1) a head to refer to. Then itās very important to 2) mark the general area to the head that you want the hand to be. 3) shoulder! 4) make a line of action that you want the torso to follow and mold the shape around it.
Thereās also the tube method! Think about arms/legs as shapes, specifically. Most of the time the reason why people struggle with foreshortening is because they try to attack the details before attacking the shape. Donāt do that! Youāll trip yourself every time. Shape first, detail second. Youāll also notice that a forearm has more mass towards the elbow, and thighs are a lot bigger than you think when the leg is bending! Which brings me into my next thing.
FIGURE STUDY!! STUDY THAT FIGURE! If youāre able to take classes, DO IT and donāt choose a basic seat! Challenge yourself! If you canāt take classes, use yourself as reference or find websites/videos specifically for academic figure study. Draw what you see and not what you know. Look up what a quick pose/gesture drawing is, and if thereās tutorials.
Getting to know the body and its muscles is a VERY powerful tool. Sorry to be a broken record, but the basics are important for a reason. So many artists say āpractice,ā but I donāt think enough say āobserve.ā Because thatās literally all that I do and I stare long enough to try and put it to paper. Observe other people! The details! Notice the absence of flat surfaces, how we think we know the body but we donātā
Ack! Sorry, a lot of these tutorials I give always end in me spilling my passion for figure study. But yeah! Observation, placement, shapes, and uh⦠winging it! Really thatās all that art is. Itās sure to help with foreshortening.
I hope this helps!
I love baseball
Fluffy, fuzzy, chubby, fat bees.
Enjoy! ā¤š
My name is Aya Maher, a 24-year-old Palestinian from Gaza, I want to share the heartbreaking story of my family, We've endured 250 days of continuous bombardment during this devastating war.
Since its onset, we've faced a relentless cascade of losses. Our lives have been emptied, and the dreams we once pursued now seem like unattainable fantasies.
We were displaced from our home, and tragically, we lost our new home as wellāa place we had worked tirelessly to create, hoping it would become a sanctuary where we could build beautiful memories.
Here is two pictures of our new home once i captured it in November and the other one on january, our buliding is destoryed more than it was.
Despite being displaced from our home by the presence of occupation forces in our area, we found refuge in the home of relatives. Our lives have been repeatedly endangered by barbaric bombing campaigns. We narrowly escaped death twice during sudden tank attacks. Additionally, we endured intense bombardment while trapped inside our house, enduring a harrowing four-day siege.
Despite the immense difficulties, my family and I insisted on staying in Gaza, facing the constant threat of bombings and the scarcity of essential resources. Now, after nine months of siege, we are on the brink of famine, struggling to find basic necessities like food, water, and medicine. We've decided to leave Gaza for our safety, but the high costs of coordination are a barrier.
My professional life has been utterly decimated. For three years, I thrived as a user interface designer on freelance platforms. However, since the onset of this war, my ability to work has been obliterated. The occupation's relentless bombing campaigns have ravaged internet infrastructure, rendering it barely functional. Now, even basic online tasks are nearly impossible. Consequently, I'm left without any financial means to sustain myself. What's even more disheartening is the realization that even after the war concludes, the road back to work will be fraught with obstacles due to the extensive damage inflicted upon network lines.
I am reaching out, seeking your support to help my family and me coordinate our exit from this dangerous situation.
Your financial assistance will not only provide us with a chance for safety and peace but also help me resume my beloved work once the war concludes. Please visit my business gallery at (https://www.behance.net/ayamaher11) and consider contributing to our journey towards a secure and dignified life.
These are the expenses we've outlined:
⢠Coordination of my mother's requirements: $5000-
⢠Coordination of me requirements: $5000
⢠Coordination of my brother Hamza: $5000
⢠Coordination of my brother Bader: $5000
⢠Coordination of my sister Nada: $2500
Additionally, we've allocated $2500 for expenses such as passport stamping ,and our initial month's expenses in Egypt.
i think when some of you say "neurodivergent" you just mean adhd and autism
thought they needed a little reminder that they still have far more to lose if they double down on this stupidity. spread the word, it seems they're... very forgetful about this.
