Trauma Tuesday

This week in Trauma Tuesday I figured why not give Jason some dissection trauma for a change. So warning for that.

DP x DC, dead on main

Next to his parents a man’s body laid on a steel table, chest cut open, ribs broken and sticking up. Everything was glistening red.

“His heart’s not beating,” Nightwing said faintly in horror as they all realized they were too late.

“What have you done!” Danny exclaimed in despair. “Why? He’s human!”

There were lines. Lines he’d hoped his parents wouldn’t cross. Liminal or not, somehow Danny hadn’t expected they’d kill him. Experiment yes, but cut him open so he bled out?

“He’s no more human than you!” His mother snarled.

And that had Danny’s head snapping to the body. Could it be?

He zipped over and pushed his parents away with a shield, instantly they started shooting at him and his shield. He willed it to hold against the ectopowered blasts. Then focused on the body.

If he was no more human than Danny, that would mean- a tiny wisp of cold air escaped his lips as he found it, his core. Small and malnourished and somehow running on the worst ectoplasmic slough-off he’d ever seen; it was fucking beautiful.

“Hey,” he whispered reaching in intangibly cradling his hands around it where it was inside the heart itself. A consciousness shifted inside and Danny felt a wave of relief and he choked on a laugh or a sob, he wasn’t sure.

“He’s alive,” he shouted over the blasts against his shield.

“His heart’s not beating! Even if you could start it-“ Nightwing didn’t have to continue; they could all see what had been done.

But they didn’t understand.

“He’s not gone,” Danny snarled, “Deal with them.” He tossed his head towards his parents. “And I will deal with this.”

He had a core. He wasn’t just liminal. He was like Danny; that was why they’d cut him open.

Jason felt floaty, cradled safely in a way that was hard to explain. Distantly in his chest there was pain. It made no sense what was going on?

There was a flash of relief and then a soothing hum met the question, and an echoey voice spoke:

“Try to relax, you’re very bad off.”

Bad off? What had happened?

A shudder of grief ran over him, was the voice crying?

“I’m so, so sorry, they hurt you because you’re like me.”

There was more to the story, a complicated knot of feelings: grief and disappointment, loss, betrayal.

“But look at you, you’re so amazing.” There was a wave of pride and love, large and encompassing and Jason had no clue what to do with it. He felt- he didn’t know how to describe it: Full? Bursting? Like he was about to cry. What had he done to warrant that?

Why? Why would you?

“You are of mine, and that in itself is enough. But you are even like me.” There was a sense of wonder and longing, tickling at the edges of his awareness.

“You are so resilient, somehow you’ve managed to survive even crippled by poisoned ectoplasm.”

He got the distinct impression of a feral smile.

“Let’s see what your core can do with the good stuff.”

It felt like a shock to his chest. A jumpstart and suddenly he felt it. The ball of energy that was him, his essence, his core, and the steady stream of energy being poured in. He was more his core than he was his body.

His body, which he knew wasn’t supposed to be like this, cut open, bleeding, dying. But his body was human and human bodies required so much more than just energy to heal, how was he-

“Don’t worry. Trust, Jason. I’m giving you the energy, just trust your core to know what’s right.”

A frisson of worry shot through him.

What about you?

He felt another smile, and beneath that more affection. Somehow, despite not quite feeling the pain from his gaping chest he could feel fingers tenderly running through his hair.

“It won’t hurt me, I’m also quite resilient.”

So as implied here there’s a reveal gone bad in the past between Danny and his parents. They now work for the GIW.

The rest of the story you’ll find out later, there’s probably some other bits here and there that would be good for Trauma Tuesday.

Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. Infinite Realms: A Danny Phantom Remix Event

Have you ever read an amazing fic and wanted to have a go at it yourself, but felt too shy or like you’d be doing something wrong? Have you ever seen the Two Cakes comic and wistfully remembered a oneshot someone wrote that you wish you could continue? Do you want to show an author you love their work to the point of your own creation, but you don’t know how to make fanart?

This is your opportunity to give something new a try!

What is a fanfiction remix?

When you remix a fanfiction, you write a piece based directly off the fic. There are many ways to do this, and the ones accepted in this event are as follows.

POV Flip - Retelling the same events from a different character's point of view.

Role Reversal - Swapping the roles of two key characters. An example would be remixing a fic where Valerie hunts Danny, by turning Valerie into the hunted and Danny into the hunter in your version.

Sequel/Prequel - The events leading up to or following the fic. This should overlap with either the first or last scene of the original.

Genre Change - Changing the fic to a different genre. An example could be changing a modern day canon setting to medieval fantasy or to a space opera.

For Want of a Nail - One small detail at the beginning of fic is changed, causing things to happen differently.

One Crucial Detail - Focus on what you think is the most important detail of the fic for a character’s point of view, and let everything else fall away.

Guidelines

For this event, we will be doing gen fics only. This is to create a space where everyone can enjoy the pieces regardless of shipping preferences. Potential future iterations of this event may include a shipping option.

Other types of remixes are okay if the author of the oneshot specifies that in their fic description.

Three things cannot be changed - who the characters are, the basic setting, and the basic plot.

Please keep your pieces rated T and under, and use all appropriate trigger warnings.

No direct plagiarism - you need to write things in your own words for the fic to be included in the collection. It’s okay to quote some dialogue or a key sentence or two, especially if you’re writing overlapping scenes, but your fic should mostly be your own words.

In the spirit of the event, crossovers should be avoided unless the author specifically states on their fic that they would be okay with them. In future years we may introduce a crossover category, but for now, avoiding crossovers makes your pieces more accessible to everyone in the fandom.

This event is specifically for writers. However, if artists wish to participate, then they can also feel free to do so.

January 5th to 12th - Initial Author Sign Ups

Please note that I’m hoping for 10 to 12 initial authors, so that there will be a decent selection of one shots for remixing during February.

This is first come first served, but even if allocations are exhausted, that’s okay! You can still participate in writing remixes in February for this event, and there’s no reason you can’t write your own oneshot anyway and tag it that remixes are welcome anytime.

January 13th to 26th - Initial Oneshot Writing Time

The 10 to 12 initial authors will write their oneshots. These pieces should be:

1k to 3k words long

A new or recent oneshot written for Danny Phantom

Rated T and under, and use all appropriate trigger warnings

Gen fics only

January 27th to 30th - Final Review

This is time for last minute questions, beta reading, and formatting for initial authors.

January 31st to February 1st - Initial Oneshots Posted

All of the initial oneshots will be posted, and listed in a masterlist on the infiniterealms tumblr blog with summaries and any author preferences.

February 1st to 28th - Writing Time!

Danuary Day 5

The day's prompt gave me a set of confusion so mind defaulted to poetic and dark. i give you angst sprinkled with fluff and metaphors that may actually be true. @crossoverdanuary will be cross-posted

Day 5- Fortune & Pokemon

It had been years since Danny had human connection. After all, the things he had known when human were long gone as his world had evolved. He had seen the slow death of all those around him, as he stood frozen in the narrowest space in the hourglass.  

His world was the origin, the development had begun to branch as soon as his time paused. He was king, Balance, Space, Son of Time, and the Deity of Fortune. His luck and core blessed those who held others dear, and cursed those with no love or reason in their hearts. Many good souls had come and gone, some thinking themselves cursed but were truly the most blessed. He had created afterlives for those who died heroes and those who died evil. He made the worlds in between, always the closest to his home. So that he may protect those closest to his kind. His daughter and son shone their ideas upon worlds letting their choices guide the universes, after all they were his.  

He was yet not full, his life was missing something, what; he did not know. He needed a friend. So what he created was creatures of his wildest dreams, fish that became dragons controling water, living ecosystems that developed sentience controling the plants they carried on their backs, blobs of goo that could morph and mimic, and shadow beasts that sough comfort in the energy they were made from. He created creature after creature, finding those in his memories and creating ones that may have brought them joy. He placed the creations on a world that he adored, a gift. Then he left a final being, powerful as he to look out for the little blessings of the world.

Danny hit the wall, the cracks around him flourishing. He needed to get away. If he could escape to the portal he would be safe. He took his fear and pushed it down. Then he flew.

Tanjiro’s eyes flew open. 

 The surroundings haven’t changed, but…something is off. A new smell came through the window. Blood, and something I didn’t recognize, like a burnt wound or cooking meat. I quickly right myself and leave the futon to put on my uniform and haori. Just in time as well, the sun was setting. It was time to find the demon plaguing this town.  

Walking through the streets it’s quiet, just like most towns. But there was a string of scents, like they were fighting-there! The scent from earlier, it felt almost; desperate. I rush towards the source, finding along the path strange patches of a glowing green substance, it might be the blood art of the demon. That isn’t good, who knows what it does. It might be a poison. The scent is getting stronger, I must be close! “Hn-ahh!?” Standing here, there is something. Covered in ash it has claws and fangs like a demon, but my brain says otherwise. Blindingly white hair hanging around pale skin, in the center of its face were two eyes glowing green like the puddles from before. It had fangs longer than should be able to fit into it’s mouth and the green dripping from a kimono that seemed to blend in with the night sky. It looks at me and snarls before it shifts into something more human, as if relaxing. Suddenly a giant flash of pure light blinds me, white fading from my vision. “Huh-“ in the creatures place now stands a boy with dark hair and ice blue eyes, he stumbles. I rush forward to catch him, why is he so light? 

They deserve everything that the rest of us do, that shouldn't change because of what they don't like

this is a poster i made for my call to action assignment in humanities! it's a bunch of basic and easy stretches for people who sit and work at a desk all day (me)

the idea is that you'd put the poster up above ur desk and do the stretches every 30 minutes or so,, the whole routine won't take more than about 6 minutes to complete and when done regularly it can prevent wrist, shoulder, neck and back pain! :)

all these stretches can be done while sitting (although i HIGHLY recommend you stand up and move around while taking a break from working)

Upon the forming of the Justice League: Dark, the call logs are checked for anything that needed to be looked into and-...

John was freaking out. Within the call logs he had found over a dozen different children across the world crying for help. In Paris a magic villain that preyed on emotions, in Illanois a CHILD that was constantly fighting interdimentional beings, an Oregon town that had such a high density of magical beings that there were calls listed nearly every third day, until one by one many of them stopped calling. Great. Now he has to go figure out how to recruit or help a bunch of talented kids.

John's first stop was the place they had received the most calls from, that were stupidly ignore because of the lack of magical expertise, Gravity Falls, Oregon.

We Became Heroes Because You Didn't

The Justice League don't specialize in much. If you ask them, they'd say otherwise. Unless they're one of the Bats, because they acknowledge that, especially with magic. They hate it, but they have connections and will at least ask for more details to deal with the situation at hand. Though they'll need proof.

That's the thing really. Proof. Because how are you going to get proof of something if everything gets repaired by the end? Or maybe you're the villain here according to the public. Or maybe everything you say is just plain crazy that nobody even knows what's going on from the start!

It was only when another group was formed when everything became clear. They were frowned upon, unknown, spoke nonsense, and never asked for help. They were the survivors that played hero. They were the shadowed version of the Justice League.

They were Justice League: Dark

A fanfic (or multiple small ones grouped together?) that isn't really about them joining forces, but more about the discovery of more dangerous territory that's being handled by kids/teens. Lift some weight for these kids. They really want a safe net by now in their hero careers.

Like- maybe a few of these wouldn't be the JL's fault. Maybe it was the government (at least for the US). Like Danny Phantom and Gravity Falls mentions the government, maybe they blocked off those regions from outside connections.

I feel like it would be funny if maybe Constantine just ends up collecting kids like Batman with his.

They're just kids! Itty bitty toddlers. It's supposed to be our job to take care o' that shit, ain't it?

And JLD now has a bunch of young professionals cause what the fuck, kid. Why do you know this??? Ya know? Maybe the JL just randomly finds these things, calls Constantine after Zatanna fails to know wtf is going on, and he just calls over a kid. Or a group of them.

JL: We need a professional, why is there a child here?

Constantine: Cause even when you fuckers ignored their calls for help, they still at least try to help where they can

idk, I just like the idea of Constantine being a father for OP characters and desperately want a Young Justice League: Dark. I read a couple of Danny and/or Billy being adopted by him, but the cravings... And if it's a whole big crossover thing, that would be great. Tag me if you see or write about something like this. I wanna read too :)

Danuary, Day 1

Hi! So this is my first original post and my first event after entering DP (ie. has never even looked at the source material >:]), @crossoverdanuary this will be my first entry this year and will be cross-posted on A03 under my account {Floof_Lord} though it won't be done right away sorry. I don't follow podcasts so I will be writing with the Flavor prompt. GAHHH! I talk to much sorryyyyyy!!!!!! Anyway here,

Danny has a problem.

It's been a couple year since Amity was taken into the Infinite Realms, and he had consequently became the prince of said Infinite Realms. At least he got another family out of it, granted they were just as if not more deranged than his biological one. But still, he now had a second family. In other words, more people who took a look at his habits and were concerned™️. Now this was where his problem came in, because he was a halfa, as every problem of his started, he had ✨weird biology✨ so here we are. Because for the love of the Ancients he could never be normal, he had to actively ingest ectoplasm, like a person with drugs, or else he would have ALL the drawbacks that come with that metaphor plus complicating his already overly complicated life.

Ectoplasm in edible form is gross.

Like Gordon Ramsey would beat you out of his kitchen gross. This was a problem because no matter what you put it on, the issue remains. Now his new dad caught wind of this problem, and being the embodiment of war, promptly went looking for a solution or someone to blame. Who knows, but he eventually went to Clocky. And truth be told, this was the moment his life got so much weirder.

"Have you tried creating food FROM it?"... He did not.

However having regular fights with a ghost that had an obsession for feeding kids ment that he only had to explain. Lunch Lady was a great teacher and promised to give him the recipe in exchange for his dad's fudge recipe. Who knew that Ecto-burgers were a healthy meat alternative.

So, it begins.

As a non-binary individual on HRT, the sweeping changes that were announced today have a direct effect on me personally, and on many of my friends and chosen family. LGBTQ+ and BIPOC allies are needed more than ever. Today is ONLY day one. Things are going to get a lot worse.

And to those who don't think it matters, that this is something that doesn't affect you or your loved ones personally? IF YOU ARE READING THIS, YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS BEING AFFECTED BY THESE CHANGES.

ALL of my official governmental documents have X listed as my gender currently. The new edict calls into question whether or not these documents are even valid anymore, depending on who you ask.

A lot of people said these changes would never and COULD never come. But we are here, now, the first day of (at least) four years and the ink is already drying on a new executive order. This country is growing more fascist and less democratic by the day. Do what you can to help your communities, to help the people you love.

Give people grace, give people the benefit of the doubt, and do what you can to support the people around you. There are way more of us than you may realize, and many people will be afraid to wear their pride in the coming times ahead.

We are tired, we are afraid, and we are angry.

We are here. And nothing is ever going to change that.

The progression of this:

Lilith, The Mistress of Fear is getting her small scarecrow. By emacrow/prompt creator pt 1

It was her turn to watch over the young king in his latest, most rarest vacation, reincarnation at the finest.

Unfortunately, being alive is the cost she paid gratefully because the last reincarnation vacation his majesty had took was ended shortly due to the idiotic ghost guard who fell to watch him.

This time Fright Knight was smart enough to use the reincarnation trip easy enough, but being reborn in a woman body that was shocking similar to her own original body from back then was nostalgic in a tragic way.

Same two birthmarks under her right dark emerald eye and right side of her mouth. The chaotic scar covered her left arm, and long scar going through her right eyebrow across her pale emerald eye, ending at her cheekbone.

Her body was still strong and muscular in the sense of tallness, but unfortunately she can still feel the softness that she needed to train more as she could still hold the soulshredder that seemed to had grow larger in size for her. (I think because your ghost form was much taller than you think?)

Clothes are a bit smaller as she gotten older and much taller then most ladies and men, then what she used to but getting specially tailored clothes to match her size was a godsend.

She had been alive for twenty-four year now, working as a bounty huntress that these small men whisper of The Mistress of Fear at night, while taking care of the young king in the daytime who was born to shameful parents that dare abandoned him in a wasteful bin.

Thankfully She can trace where his newest body was at the right time, not mere a couple minutes before the disposal men come with their raging machine on wheels.

Five years in Gotham, she kept a downlow considering there is a liminal in a bat suit patrolling around. Unfortunately that didn't last with a particular scarecrow.

Said scarecrow who was in sack mask looking at her with his face redder than a tomato considering she was sitting on him in her living room.

Jonathan Crane, supposed bringer of Fear as the Scarecrow.

Amateur at best.

Lilith considered Crane annoying at the beginning the first three dozen times they has met up with him trying to spray her with 'Fear Toxin and Gas' considering how he believe he was better at her with bringing Fear to other.

That declaration made her laugh hard that first meeting if Crane think he could best her, with how short and scrawny he was compared to her majestic tall and strong form, even her young King wasn't that scrawny when he was a ghostling.

This supposed 'Fear Toxin' was nothing to her, for she was The Mistress of Fear, formerly known as The Fright Knight in the infinite realm.

Then came the odd courting such a present with a doll stuffed filled with exploding Fear toxic, chocolate with toxic vial filled with the hazelnut spreading inside added a nice flavor, the dance between the two during a gold spar giving her a good nick on her shoulder was a nice touch, switching the candle in her crafted pumpkin with a ticking bomb full of Fear gas was a lovely gesture for her halloween party, and the best was a beautiful Sword sheath filled with concreated Fear toxic that melt even the hardest metal, but the soulshredder seem to love the spa treatment in it. Lilith swear the soulshredder was spoiled rotten by that sword sheath.

The little sneaky seeking short man somewhat crawled into her anicent void of a broken heart, and took over. She enjoyed their weekly meeting between them now that was until two weeks ago.

Jonathan can deny and struggle all he wanted after the last discussion and spar two weeks ago when she told him that she accepted his courting, which led to him avoiding her like a ghost, ha.

Jonathan think he could avoid her after taking her heart with him was rather dull of him considering she knew all his secrets hideouts by now with the amount of time he had kidnapped her in the previous years.

He should be honored to gain the hand in marriage of Mistress of Fear afterall the beautiful lavishly courting gifts he sented her the passed 2 years. Badly lying and saying they were to sabotage her was laughable. He had seduced her mind, then she will seduced him the same way all the way to marriage.

There no escaping The Mistress of Fear, Jonathan. You dug into this haunted housr of a heart and once you're in, there no escape.

y'know, one thing i don't see get talked about much in regards to asexuality is how it feels to never be 'sexually motivated' by anything

and not just when it comes to advertisements using 'sexy' models to try and sell you stuff, but like. in general

sex as a favor, sex as a bribe, sex in exchange for whatever

casual sex, 'friends with benefits' situations, even simple flirting

it all looks a whole lot different from the perspective of someone who's immune to manipulation via sex appeal, who has virtually no understanding as to why sex would motivate someone to cheat on their partner, etc. etc.

i mean, it's useful as a story element in fiction, but it genuinely perplexes me that sex is such a driving force behind so many aspects of irl society & of people's individual lives, for better or for worse

and that it's so deeply ingrained into how the average person views the world & various situations, because the average person feels sexual attraction, whereas i do not

i think the barrier between aces & allos is actually even deeper than it seems on the surface at times, because it's more than just the grating expectation that everyone must want to 'settle down' and have kids, it's also the fact that the majority of the world is sort of 'in' on a joke that aces will never truly be a part of

For fucking real, I HAD PANIC ATTACKS BECAUSE OF THIS. Though to be fair I was also in a place where everyone expected you to be immediately better at everything than the average kid at that age, no thank you I already had ✨T R A U M A✨ from feeling responsible for the actions of my younger sibling. Pharaoh Tucker with his “Wifes” Sam and Danny

Yes I’m bringing attention to this like why is nobody talking about this????

Now let’s get into the main plot so Danny, Sam and Tucker have to GO and fast ( GIW or bad Fenton au either or. !!!Bonus points!!! If Danny got hurt and than it would make this so much funnier y’all get what I mean in a sec) and they all go to the ghost zone where they meet up with clockwork and he tells them that one of Tuckers earlier reincarnation made a place so in the future he’s good even if he doesn’t remember it so clockwork brings them to what looks like an ancient Egyptian empire with the civilians and the people who live there as the people who died in the past {sorry if this is a bit hard to read I am very tired} and they are brought to the place where clockwork just casually reveals that Tucker is the pharaoh ie: The King and Sam, Tucker and Danny take this very well for them this is a safe place for them to heal and live with the added bonus of helping with Danny’s obsessions (Protection and Space) and after a bit they gain the affection of the people and the…Protection of the people??? Because for the people they see that one of their queen (Danny) was hurt before the royals came here so they get a bit protective and for a bit of information here’s the main jobs of the trio

Tucker taking care of the rules and doing the main running of the empire

Sam takes care of the army and gardens of the empire ( making sure they have enough food and such )

Danny takes care of the people (who grown the most fond of ) and such

So you can see what I’m going for with this now here’s where the JL comes in so the empire was NOT in the ghost zone it is in its own little world but somehow the JL gets tipped off about a triving empire that NOBODY has made contact with so a group ( Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the flash, green lantern you know the works) goes to make contact and hopefully make allies with them so they go and are taken aback a bit by how much this place is triving and what to meet the people who made this happen so what the JL was expecting was a lest a adult but instead they got what looked like a 16-17 with what looked like two people the same aged sitting next to him on either side (!!!EXRA BONUS POINTS!!! If one of the supers helped Danny before the meeting) and someone makes the dumb decision to ask them where are the REAL rulers and the guards in the room ( who I forgot to mention ) get mad at them and become hostile to them and Sam has to clam them down and that’s all for the plot at the moment

Now on to the details let’s start with tucker I’m thinking about this

( just instead of blue it’s red) and for a head piece I’m thinking the good old classic

But in darker colors because she’s SAM and for a head piece I’m thinking something like this

Nothing to big because she has to train the army and she’s outside a lot so if it’s anything to big I think it will just be annoying

Sleeping at beaches during the day is a good way to avoid suspicion and harassment

sleep with your bag strapped to you, so someone can’t steal it

A large dumpster near a wall can often be moved so that flipping up the lids creates an angled shelter to stay dry
