The door of the Holy Trinity Church in Blythburgh, England, boasts the proposed claw marks of Black Shuck. On August 4th, 1577, the Hellhound burst through the door of the church during a thunderstorm, interrupting the congregation in their meeting. Records state that two people, a man and a boy, were killed by the beast and the steeple of the church collapsed. The marks were made when Black Shuck left the church after the attack.

Gef the Talking Mongoose said a number of notable things in his time living at the home of the Irvings on the Isle of Man. He could speak a number of different languages according to those he spoke to, including but not limited to Welsh, Spanish, and Russian. However, even though he could speak more than English, he once claimed that the Irvings were the ones that had taught him to speak: “For years, I understood all that people said, but I could not speak until you taught me”.
Gef the Talking Mongoose is obviously a most unique creature. Unsatisfied by others’ renditions of him, Gef decided he must draw a self portrait. Supposedly, Gef grasped a pencil and drew this sketch of himself. It says: “Crude sketch by Gef. 17/8/35. Supposed to be of his head. J.T.I.” The initials are those of James Irving, on whose property Gef lived.
Cryptid of the Day: Snow Worm
Description: In Spring of 1978, in California’s San Gabriel Mountains, two cryptozoologists found a worm-like creature wiggling along a bank near a creek. They took it home and kept it for three months without feeding it. Miraculously, it lived. They believe the worm was a new species, since no worm expert could identify the species.
