your fics are so so amazing!! ive been binge reading them.

i know you’ve done ronin x reader that runs hot or is cold - could you ever do one where reader is really hot at night, but can’t sleep unless theyre cool, and ronin helps them sleep

Your Fics Are So So Amazing!! Ive Been Binge Reading Them.
Your Fics Are So So Amazing!! Ive Been Binge Reading Them.
Your Fics Are So So Amazing!! Ive Been Binge Reading Them.

You had a problem.

A really annoying, unbearable, can’t-sleep, tossing-and-turning kind of problem.

You ran hot. Always had. No matter how thin your blankets were, no matter how much you tried to sprawl out or push away the covers, the heat clung to you like a second skin, making sleep almost impossible.

And tonight? Tonight was worse than usual.

You groaned, kicking the sheets off yet again, only for them to tangle around your legs.

Still too damn hot.

This was hell.

You flopped onto your back, glaring at the ceiling. The fan was on. The window was open. And yet, the warmth still lingered under your skin, making you feel like you were suffocating.

You kicked the blanket off for what had to be the hundredth time that night, frustration clawing at you as another wave of heat made your skin prickle.

Too hot.

The air in your room felt suffocating, clinging to your skin in a way that made sleep impossible. It didn’t matter that the fan was on, or that you had cracked a window. The warmth wrapped around you, sticky and relentless, leaving you tossing and turning in misery.

You exhaled sharply, pressing the cool side of your pillow against your cheek. It didn’t help.

With an irritated groan, you sat up, rubbing at your face. If you didn’t get some sleep soon, you were going to lose your damn mind.

And, as if summoned by your suffering, a familiar voice drawled from your doorway—low, amused, and full of trouble.

“Y’know, darlin’, if you keep makin’ all that noise, you’re gonna wake the dead.”

You turned sharply to see Ronin leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed, that ever-present smirk tugging at his lips. His dark eyes glinted with amusement, but there was something else there, too—something unreadable.

Your scowl deepened. “The hell are you doing here?”

He pushed off the doorframe, taking slow, deliberate steps into your room. “Heard you tossin’ around like you were fightin’ demons in your sleep. Figured I’d check before you burned the place down.”

You huffed, flopping back onto the mattress. “Not demons. Just heat.”

Ronin cocked his head. “That bad, huh?”

You groaned. “It’s like sleeping in an oven. I swear, I’m gonna melt.”

He hummed in consideration, then, without warning, reached out and pressed the back of his hand against your forehead. His skin was cool, sending a shiver down your spine as you instinctively leaned into it.

He grinned. “Damn, darlin’, you run hot. Should’ve told me you were a walking furnace.”

You swatted his hand away, embarrassed by how nice the touch had felt. “It’s just at night. I can’t sleep unless I’m cool.”

Ronin studied you for a long moment, then rolled his eyes. “Scoot over.”

You blinked. “What?”

He didn’t wait for you to process. He just grabbed the blanket you had kicked onto the floor, tossed it over the chair in the corner, and sat on the edge of the bed like he owned the place.

“You need to cool down,” he said simply, already stretching out beside you like this was normal. “And lucky for you, I run cold.”

Your brain stalled. “...You want me to sleep next to you?”

He smirked, lazily propping himself up on one elbow. “Unless you got a better idea?”

You did have a better idea. It was called suffering through the heat until your body gave out from exhaustion. But the longer you stared at him, the more tempting the alternative became. Ronin was always cool to the touch—an effect of whatever the hell was running through his blood, you assumed. Even now, his presence was like a cold front in the middle of a summer storm.

You bit your lip. “...Fine.”

He chuckled, clearly entertained by your reluctance. “That’s the spirit, darlin’.”

Carefully, hesitantly, you shifted closer—just enough for your arm to brush against his. The relief was immediate. The contrast of your overheated skin against his cool one sent a wave of comfort through you, like plunging into cold sheets after a long day.

You exhaled, letting some of the tension melt away.

Ronin, for once, didn’t tease you. He just got comfortable, shifting until he was lying on his back, one arm tucked behind his head. His breathing was steady, slow, and the rhythm of it was strangely calming.

Minutes passed, and your body finally started to settle. The heat didn’t feel as unbearable anymore. The air wasn’t as suffocating.

Then, his voice broke the silence.

“Y’know, you could get even closer,” he mused, the amusement back in his tone. “I wouldn’t mind.”

You shot him a glare. “You’re pushing it.”

He laughed, deep and lazy. “Just sayin’. I don’t bite.” He turned his head slightly, his gaze latching onto yours. “Not unless you ask real nice.”

You groaned, shoving his shoulder with weak irritation. He was impossible. Even when he was helping, he had to get under your skin.

But, despite the teasing, he stayed right there—steady, quiet, solid. And when sleep finally started to creep in, you didn’t fight it.

Maybe Ronin was nothing but trouble. But tonight? He was trouble you didn’t mind having around.

And as your body finally relaxed, lulled by the cool comfort of his presence, you realized something else.

You had stopped tossing and turning.

Imagine getting a cat from an animal shelter and deciding to pick the very sweet and gentle one who hasn't made a single sound the whole time you're there, and being told "yeah she doesn't meow like other cats do", and then when you say "oh it's ok, I don't mind a cat who isn't very vocal!" the shelter's people look at you like they're about to say something but decide against it.

And then you bring your kitty home and the first time she wants your attention, she opens her mouth and the sound that comes out is a low, soothing but abnormally long continuous tune that you can only describe as something between mongolian throat singing and a didgeridoo.

hellenic polytheism. you said youd yap about it so please do. i dont even know how to begin researching it. thank you in advance

I just made a post on some of the basics, but I can throw you some places to look!

For general information about the gods:

Theoi

Greek Mythology Docu I enjoy!

Homeric Hymns

- side note on Homeric Hymns: these are a series of hymns written in Ancient Greece (debated if Homer wrote them or not) they’re good to get a grasp on gods and how the Greeks viewed them/praised them

———

Once you decide on gods you’d perhaps like to try and worship then you can get into resources on the religion.

Hellenism 101 - Fel the Blythe

She is literally the reason I’m here rn I love her playlist sm

There is also a google drive by the amazing @atheneum-of-you which has a ton of book resources on Hellenism including some hymns which I recommend looking at!

It’s reposted somewhere on my page!

And again my number 1 recommendation is to start by just praying.

You don’t need to speed build an altar or run to make offerings. Just pray, or dedicate some time/activites to them. It doesn’t need to be TikTok level of shrines and dedication and devotion immediately, or ever. Take it at your own pace and have fun with it.

(Is it obvious I like owls hehe)

☆ they cradle you in their wings. Even if you get a wee bit too big to be cradled, they would still wrap their wings around you as you drift off to sleep.

☆ if you don't wanna be alone, but their busy, they would let you nuzzle up into their feathers while they do whatever it is that their doing.

☆ has the BEST storytelling voice, Reads bedtime stories like their soap operas.

☆ bedtime would be a bit later. 10:00-10:30, and 12:00 on weekends. Probably 9:00-9:30 if you're smaller.

☆ loves to coo at you when you do the smallest things. They find everything you do absolutely adorable.

☆ would call you some form of "little one." Or, "my little owlet."

☆ a wee bit overprotective/clingy. You'll definitely get alone time if you ask for it, but their virtually always with you otherwise.

☆ knits you little stuffed animals, or things to wear.

☆ always calls you to help in the kitchen. Even if you did something small, like adding seasoning to the food because they were having trouble doing it with their wings, they would congratulate you, and ask if you were ready to eat the food the two of you worked so hard on.

☆ always listens to your problems, even if their a little silly in hindsight, because they get that their real to you. And that's enough for them.

☆ if you were crying to them, they would pick you up in their wings and press you to their chest. gently letting you cry it out while cooing affection at you. And when you calm down a bit, they try to talk it out and fix it to the best of their ability.

☆ always sets out time to play uninterrupted. Even if it's just a few minutes every day, they'll never be too busy for you.

☆ once you're old enough, they take you flying with them. Nothing too long, usually just a few branches away before going back.

Poly!Jegulus x Slytherin reader idea

So reader is one of the Slytherin chasers and she gets hurt on one of the Slytherin vs Gryffindor matches (maybe just a sprained wrist, or a concussion, whatever you prefer is good!) and imagine just the two captains losing their cool, its either funny or very chaotic or both, really just craving hurt and comfort

it's so funny because keke and I were talking about this dynamic not too long ago. I fiddled around with the positions etc, hope you don't mind! so glad to have you back mimi 🫶

poly!jegulus x fem!reader who plays keeper for the Slytherin team

Poly!Jegulus X Slytherin Reader Idea

It was very clear that Regulus was stressed. You knew he didn’t like having to call you up to play.

“Quidditch players play dirty, amour. Have you seen Barty out there?” he had urged you, earning him a roll of your eyes.

“Good thing I’m not playing against Barty then, huh?”

“Yeah, but you’re playing against the players that are playing against Barty; they’re going to go for blood.”

But this was your job as a reserve player. The Slytherin keeper had a case of mumblemumps and was currently on bedrest, meaning it was your turn to step onto the field.

Regulus had ‘double checked’ your equipment for the sixth time before you swatted him away.

“I’m okay, Reg. I’ve played before, yeah?”

Regulus sighed and looked into your eyes imploringly. “Do not take any unnecessary risks, okay? Especially against those animals.” He muttered.

You snorted a laugh. “You do realise we’re playing our boyfriend, yeah? The captain of those ‘animals’?”

Regulus levelled you with a glare. “Exactly.”

You opted to ignore Regulus’ worried ramblings in French and hyped yourself up for the game. Regulus had been hoping that the keeper would pull through in time for the game and was only willing to call you up a mere twenty minutes ago, meaning you hadn’t been mentally prepared for this.

Perhaps more importantly, neither had James

“WHAT IN THE BUGGERING FUCK IS SHE DOING OUT HERE!?” You heard James shout as he marched over to the Slytherin’s on the pitch, earning him a warning from Madame Hooch.

“Crawley is still in the infirmary.” You explained simply as James made it to you and began fussing with your equipment and uniform in much the same way Regulus had already.

“So what? He’s got swollen glands and a case of the mumbles, he can play sodding quidditch.” He muttered, tightening your elbow pads to almost painful lengths.

“Okay, James, enough.” You began shoving at him, but Regulus came to your defence.

“I’ve already done all that, James.” He sighed, sounding equally as disturbed about this as James did.

“I don’t like it. Maybe we should forfeit?” James mused aloud, earning him a horrified outcry from Marlene and Sirius.

“Like hell we’re forfeiting just because your girlfriend is playing, Prongs!” Sirius shouted at the same time as Marlene cried “I know she’s got a pretty face, but this is quidditch, Potter!”

“You never get this worked up over playing against Black, Potter.” Barty goaded from behind you, earning him a dark glare from Regulus.

“That’s because he’s busy looking for the snitch and well out of the action, Junior.” James sneered back before returning his eyes back to you. “Oh, my poor girl.”

You groaned and stepped away from the boys at that. “This is ridiculous, let’s sodding play!”

With an unnecessary amount of reluctance on his part, James stalked back off towards his team as everyone got into formation for the whistle.

The game was as fast-paced and intense as any game was against Slytherin and Gryffindor; the intense and deep-rooted rivalry causing the air to crackle with electricity.

As was predicted by anyone and everyone who knew Barty Crouch Junior, he was one lunatic of a beater, lobbing the bludgers at the opposing players with an unnecessary amount of force. The chasers on the other team seemed to be taking that in stride for the most part, save McLaggen who appeared to take each hit personally.

Any anxiety you had prior to the game melted away with the ease and familiarity of your broom beneath you and the rhythm of swatting quaffles away from your goal posts. Though James talked a big game of you being in “the thick of it”, keepers were the only players allowed within the vicinity of the goal posts, contributing to a certain amount of protection for those in your position.

Unfortunately, the seventh time McLaggen was hit by one of Barty’s bludgers seemed to be the undoing of this so-far fair-played game.

In a manner that seemed to be fueled by pure rage, McLaggen managed to bypass Barty and the other Slytherin beater, and beelined it for you. You would have been impressed by his skills and quick manoeuvres on his broom but you realised too late that he had nearly made it all the way over to you.

“Oi! Stay out of my zone!” You called at him, alerting the chaser’s presence to Barty.

With little more than a twist of his broom, Barty was barrelling his way towards you and aiming a bludger for McLaggen. You were slowly backing up towards your posts in an attempt to stay in position to block McLaggen’s quaffle whilst also trying to stay out of the way of his broom when he suddenly dropped altitude as soon as Barty’s bludger left his hand.

You looked down as he smiled up at you, realising too late what that meant for you.

Suddenly, your vision went black as the bludger made impact with the crown of your head, and you tasted iron as the wind ripped violently through your hair.

You could hear shouting and swearing, suddenly aware that you no longer had your broom under you; you were freefalling.

Still without sight, you had only seconds to brace yourself before you made impact with the hard ground below you.

Your lungs were being squeezed by a large fist within your chest and your ears were ringing something fierce.

There was warmth; warmth on your head, by your ear, trailing down your neck. It felt good against the wind that had accosted you moments earlier.

There was pressure at your collar bone, and deep within your chest.

The pressure became too much.

You took a gaping breath and with that, the ringing in your ears made way for the chaos surrounding you to permeate your consciousness.

“Okay, okay. Okay, good; good job amour, keep breathing. You’re okay, okay? Okay, you’re okay.” You heard Regulus chant, his voice taut with emotions. “Breathe amour, breathe.”

You took a few more gasping breaths and tore your eyes open, realising then that the lack of sight wasn’t due to inability, but rather your body’s unwillingness.

“Hi, hi amour. You’re okay.” Regulus said breathlessly, his eyes scanning between the two of yours before flitting up to something above you.

Your hearing was still fuzzy but you could hear something happening out of your line of sight.

“Yelling.” You choked out, coughing through the pain of having had the wind knocked out of your mere moments ago.

“WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING, MCLAGGEN? THE KEEPER ZONES ARE OFF FUCKING LIMITS.”

“It’s okay, amour. Don’t worry about that, just keep breathing for me, okay?” Regulus urged, placing a gentle hand on the juncture of your neck and shoulder causing you to wince in pain.

“Mr. Potter, you need to calm down.” Madame Hooch could be heard from behind you.

“I’ll do no such thing! He fucking orchestrated that! YOU LET YOUR BEATERS TAKE CARE OF OTHER BOTHERSOME BEATERS! YOU’VE BEEN PLAYING QUIDDITCH FOR SODDING YEARS, YOU KNOW WHAT JUNIOR IS LIKE.”

“Oi! Get your fucking hands off of me!”

“You’re off the team. You’re DONE. Get the fuck out of my sight.”

You heard what sounded like McLaggen storm off towards the locker rooms as Madame Hooch let out a sigh.

“The game is a draw, Slytherin is forced to forfeit with no keeper. Everyone off the pitch.” She droned in monotone.

“Jamie.” You whimpered, your sinuses suddenly swelling painfully.

“Hey! Hey babylove, I’m here.” He said quickly, quietly, gently; his voice a dramatic change from the way he’d been speaking to his team moments ago.

“I’m okay.” You stated, though it sounded more like a question with the way your voice tilted upwards at the end.

“Of course you are, you’re such a strong girl.” He agreed readily, offering you a sad smile. You chuckled self-deprecatingly and lifted your hand to wipe your tears as they trailed into your hairline, grimacing when your hand came back bloody.

“Just a bump, yeah?” James said lightly, causing Regulus to sniffle.

“I think she hurt her collarbone too.” He whispered as if speaking any louder would cause his voice to break and the tears to fall.

“Okay, alright.” James said as Madame Pomfrey arrived with a gurney. “Head injury and possibly injured collarbone.” He relayed to the matron.

“Thank you, Mr. Potter. Mr. Black, I’ll take over now; please step aside.”

But Regulus didn’t seem able to let go.

“Mr. Black.”

“Come on, Reggie. We’ll follow her up, yeah?” James tried gently, pulling at Regulus’ shoulder so that the matron could levitate you onto the gurney.

“We’re right behind you, okay sweetheart?” James called after you as he held Regulus to his side, and you let unconsciousness pull at you with the knowledge that they were following you back to the castle.

“I’m going to fucking kill him, Pads. I’m going to skin him alive and put his head on a spike on the Gryffindor stadium.”

You heard Sirius chuckle at the sound of James’ dramatics, though he never bothered to argue with his mate.

“How is it that you’re such a lover boy and my brother is such a gremlin; but anything happens to her and the two of you trade personalities?” Sirius taunted. You heard a shuffle, a grunt, and then an ‘oi!’ before the sound of Remus’ voice permeated the infirmary.

“Alright, alright. Pads, get off your brother.”

“And then, and then! I’m going to mail his ear to his mother with a note saying “you raised a fucking wanker”.” James continued as if no one had said a word.

“Y/N?” You heard Remus ask, causing the shuffling of your boyfriend and his brother, and the musings of your other boyfriend to come to a halt as they waited with bated breath for you to open your eyes.

“There she is.” James sighed in relief as his eyes met yours, his smile only at a fraction of its usual wattage, though it was still enough to brighten up the grim infirmary.

“Hi.” You croaked, wincing as your stretch was impeded by a sling on your arm.

“No, don’t.” Regulus whispered, brushing your elbow with a touch that was barely there. “Madame Pomfrey reset your collarbone, you’ll be in the sling for a few weeks.” He explained.

“Gives us all the more of an excuse to fuss over you, yeah?” James offered, clearly trying to keep spirits up.

Though you knew James was likely just as worked up about your injury as Regulus currently was (if not more, if his threats of murder and mutilation were anything to go off of), he was making an effort to be strong for both of your sake’s.

“Reggie, I’m okay.” You pressed, taking Regulus’ hand in yours that wasn’t currently pressed to your side.

“I know.” He whispered back.

“So are you.”

Regulus’ face crumpled at that and he slowly lowered his head to rest on your abdomen.

“Glad to see you up and at’em, Y/N.” Rem smiled at you as Sirius shot you a wink before patting Regulus on the shoulder and leaving the three of you some privacy.

“Reggie, babe.” James murmured, moving to stand behind Regulus and rub at his shoulders soothingly. “You’re going to get tears and snot all over our poor girl’s jumper.”

“Sod off.” Regulus mumbled into your stomach, causing you and James to chuckle.

Regulus’ head popped up at that, and he looked at you shyly from red rimmed eyes behind black curls falling over his forehead.

“You promise me you’re okay?” He whispered, rubbing his thumb back-and-forth over your knuckles.

You nodded and offered him a small smile.

Regulus sighed and sat up, rubbing at his face. “Good.” He said simply as he stood.

“I’ve got a Gryffindor to kill.”

He placed a gentle kiss to your temple and stalked out of the infirmary before your horrified glance moved to James who stood passively at the end of your bed.

“James!?” You asked, gesturing with your good arm towards the entrance.

James shook his head and waved you off. “Don’t worry; Pad’s and Moony are on watch out there. We knew once you woke up he’d be on a warpath.”

You let out a surprised laugh as James casually took Regulus’ vacated seat beside you and picked up your good hand.

“You sure you’re okay?”

“Just sore.” You offered with a nod.

“Well, I don’t like that you got hurt, but I do like getting to take care of you.” He said salaciously, pressing a kiss to the back of your hand.

You shared a soft smile with James before you heard screeching.

“I need a healer!”

James brows furrowed as he turned to see 1) McLaggen holding a jumper to his face leaving a trail of blood droplets behind him and 2) Regulus, Sirius, and Remus walking back towards your bed far too nonchalantly for your liking.

“You were supposed to stop him!” James shouted at Sirius as he gestured to Regulus.

Sirius smirked. “Oh, we did.”

James let out a surprised scoff. “Then how’d he manage to maim McLaggen?”

“I didn’t have to.” Regulus replied simply, sitting on the end of your bed and pulling your feet into his lap as he massaged them through the blankets. “Barty got to him first.”

Things to Do with Plushies that aren’t Traditional Pretend Play

If you regress/dream to an older age range, you might not play pretend as often, if at all. That said, there’s no reason why you still can’t enjoy your plushies’ company.

Things To Do With Plushies That Aren’t Traditional Pretend Play

Cuddle them as you go to sleep. This one is pretty obvious, but I think it deserves a place on this list.

Make them little Kandi collars with their name in letter beads. You can make a matching bracelet or necklace for yourself too!

On that note, sew clothes for them and dress them up. This one might require some supervision because of the pins and needles, but it’s usually worth it.

Set them up so that they look like they’re doing the same activity as you are. (Putting a controller in front of them if you’re gaming, pretending to feed them bits of your meal, setting them up in front of the TV so they can enjoy the programs with you, etc) This one veers into pretend play, but it’s not as involved so I figured I’d include it.

Put them into your purse/backpack/bag so they can keep you company on your errands or other trips you take.

Set them up in nature or around the house and take photos of them. You can even scrapbook with the photos.

If they are sturdy enough, give them a bubble bath and then either stick them in a pillowcase and put it in the dryer, or air dry them in the sun. This is good for bonding with them, and general maintenance to keep them clean.

Write about them. You can make little character profiles for them, or even full stories! This is good if you have a hard time playing pretend but you still want to feature them in imaginative contexts.

Draw/paint pictures of them and hang them on your wall!

Finally, if this is something you’re up for, set up a side blog for your favorite plushie and document their life online. Make blog posts from their perspective, have them take “selfies” etc!

Things To Do With Plushies That Aren’t Traditional Pretend Play

Have fun with your plushies 💕

hello i’m not sure if you are taking requests but i have binged all of your emt marauders and absolutely loved them. i was wondering if you could do one where the boys get a call in for an emergency and turns out the reader called for it and by the time they get there they find the reader unconscious.you can chose the reason for why reader is passed out. also have an amazing day and yeah <3

Thank you for requesting lovely!! Slight deviation because reader doesn’t call them herself

cw: fainting, hospital mention

emt!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 1k words

You wake to a firm tapping on your face and the din of too many voices.

“Y/n?” The tapping persists. You try to unstick your lashes. “There you go, sweetheart, open your eyes for us.”

You try harder.

“Beautiful. I’m just going to shine this light in your eyes, keep them open…”

“Sirius,” you say. Or try to say. Your mouth is a desert, and your lips move without much sound coming out.

Sirius seems to hear you anyway. His businesslike tone softens into something more tender. “Hi, baby.” When he clicks off the light, you can see that his eyebrows are set close together, hooking upwards. “How are you feeling?”

“M’okay.”

A little grin. “Try again, sweetness.”

You blink. It feels like it takes ages. “My head hurts.”

“What kind of hurt?” Another familiar voice, and you look up to see James crouched above your head. He gives you a quick smile, too handsome for your fragile heart to keep up with, before he tilts your head back the way it was and starts feeling about your scalp with gloved hands. “Is it like a headache, or do you think you might’ve hurt yourself?”

“Um.” Your head swims. “Like a headache.”

“Okay. Thanks, angel. Wanna roll onto your back for us?”

“What’re you doing here?”

James’ hands slip from beneath your head. “You fainted,” he says. A gentle touch on your shoulder, pressing downward. “Roll over, okay?”

It takes more effort than it should. You feel like you’re moving through a thick sludge, your head pounding and a hint of nausea at the back of your throat.

“Some space, please. We’ve got it from here.” Remus comes into your field of vision, looking vaguely irritated. Some of it melts away when he meets your eyes.

“Hi,” he says softly, crouching beside you. He takes your hand and gives it a squeeze. Looks at Sirius. “Any signs of a concussion?”

“No,” he says. “Her pupils look fine, and there doesn’t seem to be a contusion on her head. Yeah, Jamie?”

“Yeah,” James agrees. He puts something cold underneath your neck. “I think falling onto the grass probably helped.”

Remus nods, stroking the side of your thumb absentmindedly. “The woman I just spoke to thought the same, said the way she fell sideways had to have kept her from hitting her head.” He sounds wry. “She had a lot of opinions, actually. You had quite the group of concerned spectators looking out for you, dove.”

Remus is giving you a small smile, but his words finally register the sheer amount of people standing near you. They’re spread in a loose circle around you, random pedestrians who just happened to be walking by when you apparently crumpled like a tin can off the edge of the sidewalk and have since stuck around to watch the show. Your head is still too fuzzy to muster up any response that feels correct, but you know you don’t like it.

James picks up on your unease first. “Don’t worry about them, sweetheart, just focus here, yeah?” He gives Sirius a look, and your scariest boyfriend gets up, going towards the nearest onlookers. James takes his place at your side. “I need to put these ice packs under your arms, so I’m going to reach up your shirt, okay?”

“You do that all the time,” you mumble. Remus snorts.

“True,” James admits, chuckling as he slides the ice packs up one side of your shirt, then the other, “but I’m fairly sure I’m supposed to maintain some degree of professionalism while I’m on the job.”

Your bones seem to melt where the ice packs cool your skin, which doesn’t make any sense because you’re fairly sure you’re already as melted as a girl can get. You feel much more at ease with your boyfriends here to handle things, and you’ve been tired for so long it feels like forever now. You close your eyes.

And then Remus sprays you with water like a misbehaving cat.

It’s surprising, but nice. James laughs again at your expression when your eyes open, and Remus too is smiling to himself as he sprays several points on your body with the fine mist.

“You’re right,” Sirius says to Remus, returning, “that one woman was fucking pushy.”

“Purple glasses?” Remus asks.

“That’s the one.”

He hums complacently.

Your eyes have slipped closed again. Sirius thumbs at your cheek, prompting them open.

“You ready to get out of here, pretty girl?”

“Yeah,” you sigh. Talking is easier now. “Where are we going?”

Sirius’ grin goes a bit sheepish, as if he knows you won’t like it. Remus breaks the news instead.

“We’re taking you back to the hospital with us,” he says. “You’re dehydrated and overheated. You should be on fluids for a little while before you go home.”

A petulant sound rises from the back of your throat. You’re too exhausted to be embarrassed of it.

“Oh, come on, it’s like take your girlfriend to work day!” James grins at you, squeezing your upper arm bolsteringly. “You can just relax and recover for a few hours, and when we get off we can all go home.”

“I don’t like your work,” you complain, even as James and Sirius move you onto the gurney.

“Crazy coincidence, because I don’t like seeing you at our work,” Sirius teases. He pinches your chin meanly. “Honestly, doll, could you do us a favor next time and drink water? I almost threw up when we got here and saw it was you. And I’ve never seen Remus move that fast in his life. He vaulted over a park bench.”

“I went around it,” Remus says, rolling his eyes. “There was no vaulting involved.”

“And if I’d thrown up, and Remus had broken his ankle performing athletic feats,” Sirius goes on, “then our poor Jamesie would’ve had all three of us to deal with! Really, my love, try to think ahead next time. There’s more on the line than just you, you know.”
