The original story of Peter pan was written by J.M. Barrie's. Supposed he was inspired after his younger brother passed as a child. His mother found peace in the though that her Peter was going to remain a child forever.

Peter pan doest grow old he had lost that ability after he turned day 7. He has not had a birthday and ran away as a baby.
