The Difference Between Wanting to Shift and Expecting to Shift

When you first begin your shifting journey, it’s easy to feel like you’re wanting to shift—hoping, wishing, and longing for it to happen. This is a common starting point for many people, but it’s important to recognize the subtle but powerful difference between wanting and expecting to shift.

Wanting to shift comes from a place of longing. It’s rooted in desire, and while this is a natural feeling, it’s often tied to a sense of uncertainty or lack. When you want to shift, you’re focused on what you don’t have yet. You may think, “I wish I could shift,” or “I hope it happens for me.” This kind of energy often creates resistance because it reflects a feeling that shifting is something outside your control—something that you’re constantly reaching for, but may never fully grasp. The act of wanting can leave you feeling like it’s not fully attainable, and doubts can creep in, making the process feel more difficult.

On the other hand, expecting to shift is a whole different mindset. When you expect to shift, there’s no more longing, no more hopefulness. Instead, you hold a quiet certainty that shifting is a natural process that will happen when the time is right. Expectation removes the pressure because it’s not about if—it’s about when. You know that with practice, consistency, and the right mindset, shifting is an inevitable result.

Expectation shifts your approach completely. You stop waiting for shifting to “work,” and you begin acting as if it’s already part of who you are. The more you expect it, the more it becomes a natural extension of yourself. Your mind starts to align with this belief, and as a result, the doubts that once seemed so loud begin to fade into the background. Instead of being attached to the outcome, you trust the process and simply enjoy the journey, knowing it’s only a matter of time.

This shift from wanting to expecting also has an impact on how you prepare for shifting. With the mindset of expectation, you practice with confidence, knowing that your efforts will pay off. You begin to trust that you are capable and worthy of shifting, and that your reality is malleable. When you approach shifting with expectation, the entire experience transforms from a chase for something unattainable to a natural flow of something you already have the ability to do.

So, the next time you find yourself feeling frustrated or doubtful about your progress, take a step back and ask yourself: Am I waiting for shifting to happen, or do I expect it to happen? Shift your mindset from wanting to expecting, and watch how the process begins to unfold with ease.

you manifest falling asleep each night, so why can’t you manifest anything else? 🔮

yes, you’ve read the title right. every night, you manifest sleeping, in a way, don’t you? you close your eyes, assume you are asleep, and pretend as if you are already sleeping yes? you are merely setting the intention to sleep, and you’ve been successfully manifesting this ever since you were alive. it wasn’t taught to you, you never learned it from anyone else. it simply came naturally to you. that’s the power and the reality of manifestation, we’ve been doing it all our lives.

so now, why not apply the same principle to shifting and manifestation? you’ve already mastered the act of manifesting falling asleep, so i can assure you, you can manifest anything else, no matter what it is.

when you’re about to fall asleep, you have the confidence that you’ll fall asleep right? you won’t think “oh what if i don’t fall asleep” or “maybe i’ll fall asleep next week” right? you firmly know and believe that you will fall asleep, no matter what. whether it rains or shines, storms or snows, you KNOW that you will in fact, be asleep eventually. even if you’re awake now, you know you’ll be asleep soon. this is exactly the kind of mindset you require for manifesting/shifting.  just know that no matter what you are experiencing in the 3d, you have already shifted. you already have your desires. you are living your dream life. stop giving so much power to the 3d. take control of your life, and lead it in the direction you desire. even if you don’t see/hear/feel/smell/taste it yet, it is there. it has already happened. stay confident that you have what you want, even if you aren’t seeing anything that indicates you have it. if you keep doing this, you will have your desires in no time. continue to persist that you have it.

all you must do it assume and believe. you already have it. trust that you have it. act as if you have it. if you want to shift, you don’t even have to do this the entire day or for weeks, you can simply do it as you’re about to shift or sleep. that's quite literally all you need, i promise. “oh i'm in my cr bed” no no no, you’re in your dr bed. accept it. it is the truth, you can’t run away from it. “oh i hear my cr family and cr sounds” no you don’t? that's your dr friends and family. everything you’re hearing is a sound from your dr. utilise everything that’s happening around you and take advantage of it. no matter what is happening, you are in your dr. you always have been, and always will be. so the next time you’re drifting off into sleep, stay in the state of knowing and believing that you already have your desires, or that you are in your desired reality. visualize or imagine it if you want, or simply feel that it is true. prolong this state for as long as you can, and it will come true faster than you can imagine. good luck 🩷

“if i don’t shift i’ll...” NO

YOU WILL SHIFT YOU HAVE SHIFTED

stop acting like you can fail because you will

when i want to drink tea i don’t think about what i will do in case i fail to make it - i just go and make the tea

when i shift i think about what i’m gonna do once i wake up in my dr, i don’t plan what i will do in this reality because i will not fail, i can’t fail and neither can you

I know you’ve heard this a million times, but for the million and first time: Stop wanting things. You don’t want something that you already have. The thought may cross your mind, like; ‘I want some coffee,’ but you don’t just cry and beg for the coffee like a pitiful baby- You don’t even give that much of a fuck about the coffee. You stay lying in bed and scrolling relaxedly on your phone. Because you know without question you’re gonna get it, whether that means making it, buying it, or texting someone to bring it to you.

Simply making a decision and sticking with it. That is manifestation. That is shifting. They are interchangeable. Getting some coffee is on the same level as riding a broom to class or punching Billy Hargrove in the face.

Stop clinging on to the belief that it’s too easy or too good to be true. You need to get it through your skull that you deserve it. You deserve all the things you want, and you deserve to get the things you want in the easiest way possible.

accepting the shift

Accepting The Shift
Accepting The Shift

What i have noticed with all the times i have shifted, it was never forced. I simply let it happen.

If you force the shift you create resistance and stress upon yourselves. it enforces that feeling that you have not shifted.

People are obsessed with the 3D when they are trying to shift as they want to feel symptoms when in reality the 3D has no relevance to shifting. You can acknowledge it yes, but learn to ignore it.

Simply trust yourself that you will wake up in your dr. Don’t overthink that decision and stand firm in the belief you will wake up there.

Once you do that you can let your mind wander, day dream etc idk. you’re human and your mind will be wandering and LET IT DO THAT.

1) Decide you have shifted

2) Trust yourself and stand firm

3) Done

+ let mind wander/go to sleep/do anything that helps calm you down

I got a a lot of messages about this topic and here’s a general post talking about and i hope it helps in some way.

EMMA, MY BELOVED, I DEVASTATINGLY NEED YOUR HELP. So nowadays when I wanna shift I do my thing and then fall asleep and wake up and go back to sleep again hoping to shift then wake up and this cycle continues. Then I realize I've wasted my precious time here and haven't shifted and just fall behind things in life in general. (I try to shift around the afternoon because I usually fall asleep at night) What do I do to end this cycle? It's become very unhealthy and I can't seem to stop because I have hope to shift.

you need to stop using sleep as a trapdoor. like i get it. i get it so bad. you're clinging instead of claiming. shift awake. shift before sleep. shift while brushing your teeth. shift while doomscrolling. shift before you even think about sleeping. you're not stuck, you're just trying to break through a door that was never locked. stand up. you're allowed to choose it now. you're allowed to shift in the middle of being alive

some of you guys need to realise there is a difference between your consciousness and your brain

your consciousness is you - your awareness, your essence - but your brain is just the physical organ processing experiences in each reality. when you shift, you’re moving your consciousness into a different version of yourself, one with a different brain shaped by different life experiences. that means some things won’t feel exactly the same. your thought patterns, instincts, even personality might be different because they were formed by a different life. maybe a food you dislike here is your favorite there, or a skill you struggle with now comes naturally.

“when i first shift i’m gonna be so freaked out!” well, no. the moment you shift, your consciousness seamlessly integrates into the brain of that reality, making it feel completely natural. It won’t feel like some sudden, jarring experience; it’ll just feel like you’ve always been there, like a natural continuation of your life in that reality.

“i’m gonna be so awkward around my friends at first” nope. there’s nothing to ‘get used to’ because your brain in that reality already knows them. their mannerisms, inside jokes, and history with you will feel completely natural - just like any other day speaking to your friends.

so lets cut out all of the ‘omg i met them and they realised something was off’ or ‘omg i almost had a panic attack when i first shifted i was so shocked’ because that’s just not how it works. there’s no dramatic reveal, no awkward adjustment period. you’re simply there, living as if you always have been.

every night I am Coraline. I am her, huddled under those blankets, desperate to just go home… only to wake up and say “I’m still here?”
