Tumblr, we know you’ve been fighting valiantly to restore net neutrality. Whether you added widgets to your Tumblrs, or reblogged posts to spread the word to your followers, or contacted your reps asking them to keep the internet free and open as we know it—you’re helping. You’re doing it. Let’s keep that momentum up.
BattleForTheNet.com (@fight4future) is letting Congress know that the internet is keeping score of every Congressperson who is and is not supporting the restoration of net neutrality.
This CRA will restore the net neutrality rules the FCC dismantled back in November 2017. They have 177 signatures, but need 44 more. You can help make that happen. This grassroots effort is working. Just two days ago Rep. Mike Coffman listened to his constituents from Colorado and became the first Republican to support the Democrat-led CRA. Keep putting that same pressure on your congresspeople. Urge them to sign the petition. If your congressperson has already pledged to support the CRA, reblog this post, add the new widget to your Tumblr (just copy and paste the small line of code from Battle For The Net right into the customize theme page on the web), and shout out what’s happening on all of your social media accounts. We have to spread the word.
Keep going, Tumblr. This matters, and you’re making a marked difference.
This project is an Original Character Meme that was originally started in either 2012 or 2013 and was since forgotten about until recently. The point of this "meme" is to choose 10 of your original characters, assign them numbers, and on the next few slides, draw them in the situation accordingly. I'm sharing this because, even though most of the sketches are old and my style has changed, I really like it for what it is. I love the goofiness of some of the characters and scenes (I think Jewelia sliding down the slide is my favorite one.) I want to continue to embody this characteristic in my OC drawings. Side note: the last one was done as a digital art exercise earlier this year, hence newer art & style. I hope you guys enjoy! (Original meme was by Elvendorkx on DeviantArt.)
I'm starting a new art project today called the 100 Themes Challenge! I originally started this project at the beginning of 2015 and was keeping with it for about two and a half months, but after a while, I just dropped off. After feeling inspired to do it again (with the intention of finishing it), I've done a lot of thinking about it and decided to pick up this project again and restart it with a new vision and new goal in mind. 🔷 The first part of my goal for this project is to finish a theme within 7 - 8 days; originally it was a theme-a-day for 100 days, but for my new vision to work realistically, 1 day is simply not enough time for me. 🔷 The second part of my goal is to fully realize/render a theme within 7 - 8 days. You see, my aim for this project is to practice my art process. I've noticed in the past that I would mostly just sketch and *maybe* ink my drawings and call them finished. Nowadays, I'm not satisfied with that; I want to do more with my art and make it look more complete. 🔷 In this first pic, I'm showing you guys my list of 100 themes so you can follow along with me. Of course, feel free to use this list however you choose! I just ask that you credit it me for the list should you decide to use it. It did take me some time to come up with the list, even though it was heavily inspired by several other themes challenge lists on DA back when it was made in 2014. 🔷 The second pic shows my initial rough sketch as I am redrawing the first theme that I drew back in 2015. I really liked the concept of the scene so I’m not changing it too much, but I am looking more towards real life reference for the crystal in the middle and the body poses for the characters. 🔷 Without further ado, I'm excited and a bit nervous about the future of the project, as I have yet to execute my plan, but I hope you guys are willing to join me along for the ride!
Inked it! Now for the fun part, coloring it in. 😁 🖊

(WARNING: Don’t try any of this on Earth—except the last one.)
Janssen aka 55 Cancri e
Hang your steak on a fishing pole and dangle your meat over the boiling pools of lava on this possible magma world. Try two to three minutes on each side to get an ashy feast of deliciousness.
Dimidium aka 51 Pegasi b
Set your grill to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit (982 degrees Celsius) or hop onto the first exoplanet discovered and get a perfect char on your hot dogs. By the time your dogs are done, it’ll be New Year’s Eve, because a year on this planet is only four days long.

Super air fry your duck on this Super Earth, as you skydive in the intense gravity of a planet twice as massive as Earth. Why are you air frying a duck? We don’t know. Why are you skydiving on an exoplanet? We’re not judging.
HAT-P-11b
I’ve got steaks, they’re multiplying/and I’m looooosing control. Cause the power this planet is supplying/is electrifying!
Sear your tuna to perfection in the lightning strikes that could flash across the stormy skies of this Neptune-like planet named HAT-P-11b.

Tired of all that meat? Try a multi-colored salad with the vibrant plants that could grow under the red sun of this Earth-sized planet. But it could also be a lifeless rock, so BYOB (bring your own barbecue).
Kepler-70b
Don’t take too long to prep your vegetables for the grill! The hottest planet on record will flash-incinerate your veggies in seconds!

Picture this: You are pressure cooking your chicken on a hot gas giant in the shape of an egg. And you’re under pressure to cook fast, because this gas giant is being pulled apart by its nearby star.
Kepler-16b
Evenly cook your ribs in a dual convection oven under the dual stars of this “Tatooine.” Kick back and watch your two shadows grow in the fading light of a double sunset.
Venus
Order in for a staycation in our own solar system. The smell of rotten eggs rising from the clouds of sulfuric acid and choking carbon dioxide will put you off cooking, so get that meal to go.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 1, 2018 Contact: Evan Greer, 978-852-6457, press@fightforthefuture.org
A number of well liked web companies and high profile individuals have banded together to back a crowdfunding effort launched by digital rights group Fight for the Future. Ant-Man and the Wasp star Evangeline Lilly, legendary guitarist Tom Morello, Tron CEO Justin Sun, author Cory Doctorow, and EDM hero Bassnectar are teaming up with companies like Postmates, Namecheap, and Private Internet Access matching Internet users’ donations to raise money for an epic final push for net neutrality as the deadline approaches for Congress to reverse the FCC’s repeal of open Internet protections.
See the crowdfunding page here: DonateForNetNeutrality.com
Organizers hope to raise $100,000 to fund mass online protests, crowdfunded ad buys, and strategic in-district organizing pushing for House members to support the Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution to restore net neutrality before Congress adjourns at the end of the year. The full list of “Internet defenders” who are matching grassroots donations 100%, includes: Bassnectar, Cory Doctorow, Tom Morello, Evangeline Lilly, Private Internet Access, Justin Sun, AnchorFree, iFixit, Lookfar, Namecheap, Pornhub, Postmates, Startpage, Bittorrent, and Tron.
“These folks are taking on the telecom lobby machine and fighting for a free, open, and uncensored Internet,” said Tom Morello, “Net neutrality is the free speech fight of this generation and time is running out. It’s time for the Internet to rise up again.”
“This is not a partisan issue, the battle for the net is a fight for our most basic freedoms. People from across the entire political spectrum can agree that we don’t want anyone to control or manipulate what we see and do on the Internet,” added actress Evangeline Lilly (Lost, Ant-Man and the Wasp, The Hobbit).
“Given my deep belief in an open and decentralized internet, I support Donatefornetneutrality.com and urge others to do the same in this critical moment where Congress can still act in favor of net neutrality,” said Justin Sun, founder and CEO of TRON. “When the internet is free and open, it fosters innovation that benefits not just a few, but all of us. It’s our responsibility to protect these core values and push our community towards the cause.”
“Net neutrality is not dead yet. Not even close,” said Evan Greer, deputy director of Fight for the Future, “But time is running out on our best chance to get Congress to save the open Internet and give Ajit Pai the worst day of his political career. Comcast and AT&T’s lobbyists are doing everything they can to make sure Congress adjourns without addressing this. We have to make it something they can’t ignore.”
