SUPPORT PALESTINIAN BUSINESSES
while it’s important for us to protest, raise awareness, boycott, and pressure our governments… it is also important that we appreciate palestinian people and palestinian culture. they are more than just victims. they are artists, entrepreneurs, fashion designers, movie makers, writers, musicians, scholars—they are people. so let’s celebrate all that makes palestinians who they are by supporting their businesses and showing our appreciation and solidarity.

*please follow @/books_palestine on instagram for more fun ways to support palestinians and celebrate palestinian culture. half of this list was made based off of their post (you’ll see in older reblogs i’d included the infographics they’d made. but i’ve since removed them bc i’ve made the list longer and organised it a bit differently to their list. did keep the first page on their infographic though ^^)

if all you did was survive today, pat yourself on the back. it may be small or inconsequential to you, but surviving is a success too.

The weight of the world is love. Under the burden of solitude, under the burden of dissatisfaction the weight, the weight we carry is love. Who can deny? the burden of life is love, but we carry the weight wearily, and so must rest in the arms of love at last, must rest in the arms of love. No rest without love, no sleep without dreams of love– be mad or chill obsessed with angels or machines, the final wish is love.
~Allen Ginsberg (Book: Howl and Other Poems)
[Philo Thoughts]
self love.
how do you repair yourself after the war without patience
how do you handle the nightmares of trauma without a glass of water next to you or a tight blanket to remind you that sometimes the trauma misses you too
how do you remind a war veteran that is living with you that it is just fireworks and not gunshots
they both shoot towards a target
they both explode what is left
leaving remains of the forgotten
how do you tell a survivor that what they fought for was in the name of love while you bandage their scars bloody guts and all
how do you relax the muscles you used to pull triggers on the attackers while you are facing the mirror
how do you sing gospel songs of praise when you felt no god by your side
how do you love a war veteran still in combat
