━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
you had never expected your life to take such a turn. just a few months ago, you were living your life like any normal young woman, full of plans and dreams. then came the news, you were pregnant, and the father of your child, the one you thought would be there, walked away without a second glance. it wasn’t how you imagined things would go, but here you were, ready to raise a child on your own.
except you weren’t alone.
your twin brother, pedri, made sure of that. when you needed somewhere to stay, he opened his arms and his home to you. he insisted you move in with him, giving you a safe place to stay as you navigated this unexpected chapter in your life. pedri, especially, never hesitated. despite his busy career and lifestyle, he made it clear that his family always came first.
as the weeks passed, you found yourself adjusting to your new reality. the emotional rollercoaster of being pregnant was hard enough, but then there were all the practical things you never thought about, how to handle the sickness, the exhaustion, the constant worrying about your future and your baby. but through it all, you had pedri by your side.
pedri, especially, had always been the one to take care of you. no matter what you needed, no matter how much of a mess you were in, he was always there. but now, with a baby on the way, he was taking his role of “uncle pedri” to a whole new level.
one afternoon, pedri walked into the living room, looking unusually serious. you were sitting on the couch, your hand resting on your belly, feeling the baby move inside. he stood there for a moment, looking like he was trying to figure something out.
‘so,’ he said, his voice hesitant, ‘i’ve been thinking. we need to figure out how to take care of her when she’s here.’
you raised an eyebrow, glancing up at him. ‘you? take care of her?’
pedri plopped down on the couch beside you, looking more than a little nervous. ‘i mean… i’m her uncle, right? i have to help, but i don’t really know what to do. i’ve never… well, i’ve never had to take care of a baby before. like, really take care of one.’
you couldn’t help but smile at his nervousness. ‘it’s okay, you’ll figure it out. it’s not as hard as it seems, i promise. she’ll need the basics, like diapers, bottles… and a whole lot of love.’
he nodded, clearly relieved but still uncertain. ‘diapers, got it. bottles, no problem. but what about… i don’t know, when she cries or when she’s upset? how do i know what to do?’
you chuckled softly, giving him a reassuring look. ‘you’ll know. it’s all about listening to her. babies are just… they’re a lot of work, but they’re also so simple. when she’s hungry, you feed her. when she’s tired, you let her sleep. when she’s fussy, you just hold her until she feels better. i promise, you’ll pick it up.’
pedri looked a little more relaxed, but the concern was still there. he placed a hand on your shoulder, his voice soft. ‘i just want to make sure i’m doing everything right. for you, and for her.’
you smiled warmly at him, your heart swelling with gratitude. ‘you’re already doing great, pedri. just being here for me is all i could ask for.’
the weeks passed, and pedri became more and more involved in the preparations for your baby. he went from asking about diaper brands to learning how to swaddle a baby, and he never hesitated to ask you questions whenever he was unsure. it was endearing to watch him step into his role as an uncle, and it made your heart ache to know how much he cared.
one night, as you were sitting at the kitchen table, preparing a late night snack, pedri walked in, looking exhausted but still with that familiar warmth in his eyes. he leaned against the counter, watching you as you worked.
‘you okay?’ he asked softly.
you looked up at him and smiled, but this time, there was a hint of vulnerability in your gaze. ‘yeah, i’m fine. just… i don’t know, it’s a lot sometimes, you know?’
pedri’s face softened, and he moved to sit next to you. ‘hey, i’m here. we’re in this together, remember? i’m gonna make sure you have everything you need, and i’m gonna be the best uncle i can be. you don’t have to do this alone.’
his words hit you right in the chest, and you felt your eyes water. you’d never known how much you needed to hear those words until now. pedri wasn’t just being an amazing brother, he was being the support you needed, and you were so grateful for it.
‘thank you,’ you whispered, your voice thick with emotion. ‘you don’t know how much this means to me.’
pedri gave you a small, reassuring smile. ‘i’m your twin, y/n. i’ll always be here for you. always.’
you hugged him tightly, feeling the weight of everything start to lift, knowing that with pedri by your side, you weren’t alone anymore. together, you would figure this out, and nothing could take away the bond you shared.
epilogue::
a few months had passed since the day you moved in with pedri. the baby was almost here, and your life had started to settle into a routine, a new normal that you were slowly growing accustomed to. pedri had been everything you needed, more than just a brother, he was your rock, and he had truly stepped up to be the best uncle.
the day you had been anticipating had finally come. the hospital room was a whirlwind of activity, but all you could focus on was the tiny little life you were about to meet. pedri, as always, was right there by your side, holding your hand through every contraction, whispering words of encouragement, and making you laugh when you felt like crying.
after what felt like an eternity, your daughter was born, small, fragile, but perfect. you held her in your arms for the first time, tears brimming in your eyes as you stared at the miracle in front of you.
pedri stood by your side, his eyes wide with awe as he looked at the baby. he gently leaned down and kissed your forehead, his voice soft. ‘she’s perfect, y/n. you did it. we did it.’
you smiled up at him, the exhaustion from labor suddenly fading away as the overwhelming love for your little girl filled your heart. ‘we did it,’ you echoed, your voice shaky with emotion. ‘she’s ours, pedri. we’re gonna be okay.’
the days that followed were filled with sleepless nights, diaper changes, and a lot of learning. but through it all, pedri was there, always willing to help, always ready to step in whenever you needed him. he wasn’t just an uncle anymore, he was a protector, a guide, and most of all, a constant source of support for both you and your daughter.
one evening, as you were sitting on the couch, holding your baby, pedri came in from the kitchen with a bottle of water and a smile on his face. ‘hey,’ he said, sitting beside you. ‘how’s my little niece doing?’
you looked down at your daughter, who was peacefully sleeping in your arms. ‘she’s perfect,’ you said softly. ‘and so are you.’
pedri laughed and shook his head. ‘no, i’m just trying to keep up. i don’t know how you do it, y/n. you’re amazing.’
you leaned your head on his shoulder, feeling the warmth of his support and love. ‘i couldn’t do it without you, pedri. you’re the best brother anyone could ask for. you’re not just an uncle, you’re a father figure to her too.’
pedri’s expression softened, his eyes tender. ‘i’m just glad i could be here for you. for both of you.’
the days turned into weeks, and as the months passed, you began to see how much pedri’s bond with his niece grew. he wasn’t just an uncle in title, he was her protector, her playmate, and her biggest supporter. watching the two of them together, laughing and bonding over simple moments, made your heart swell with pride. pedri had become everything you knew he would be, an amazing brother and an even more amazing uncle.
life had a way of surprising you, but one thing was for certain, no matter what happened, you would always have your twin brother by your side. and together, you would continue to write this new chapter in your lives, full of love, laughter, and the joy of having a family that stuck together through thick and thin.
as you sat with pedri, watching your daughter sleep peacefully in your arms, you realized that despite the challenges, you were never really alone. you had the family you needed, and nothing could take that away from you.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
it’s loud in the restaurant, glasses clinking, plates being passed, laughter bouncing off every corner of the table.
but none of it really matters.
because pau’s sitting in the middle of it all, quietly zoned out, eyes only on you.
you’d gotten up to grab something off the far end of the table, weaving through teammates and chairs and banter, and somehow ended up standing right between his knees as you reached across the table.
and instead of shifting or moving back, he just rests his hands gently on the backs of your thighs. casual. warm. his.
your breath catches just a little.
you glance down at him and smile, hands instinctively finding his shoulders, then sliding up into his hair.
his hair is soft. his eyes are softer.
and god, he’s looking at you like you’re made of light.
like he’s not in the middle of a team dinner with half the squad watching.
like you’re the only sound he hears.
you start rambling about something, what someone said earlier, a joke he missed, how chaotic the other end of the table is.
and he just listens.
quiet smile on his lips. fingers still tracing slow, lazy shapes on the backs of your thighs. head tilted just slightly so he can look up at you better.
he nods at all the right moments, gives little mhm’s and amused half laughs, but mostly?
he’s just watching.
like he’s memorizing you. like he already has.
someone down the table calls his name.
he doesn’t even flinch.
you finally stop talking, a little breathless, a little shy under his stare.
‘what?’ you whisper, laughing softly. ‘why are you looking at me like that?’
he just smiles.
‘you’re the best part of my night. that’s all.’
and yeah. you feel it. all the way down to your fingertips.

hector fort never really knew what hit him when he started dating you. you walked into his life like a storm, sharp tongue, quick comebacks, and a look that could cut through steel, but underneath that bossy, sassy exterior, you were the biggest softie he’d ever met.
he learned that early on. like the first time you two went out and he showed up three minutes late. three.
‘oh, so you thought i didn’t deserve punctuality?’ you’d said, arms crossed, hip cocked to the side. ‘is that what we’re doing now, fort?’
he scrambled with apologies, cheeks red, swearing traffic was worse than usual. you just sighed, looped your arm through his, and murmured, ‘relax, i’m messing with you. but you are paying for dessert. non-negotiable.’
he never minded paying, especially when you’d grin at him over your ice cream, that spark in your eyes softening just a bit. and god, when you’d say things like, ‘you’re lucky you’re cute,’ it did things to him he didn’t know how to explain.
but it wasn’t just the teasing. it was how you supported him, how you believed in him even when he didn’t believe in himself. after that match he’d been kicking himself over for days, missed shots, sloppy passes, you cornered him in his apartment, hands on your hips.
‘hector fort, if you don’t stop beating yourself up, i swear—’ you cut yourself off, softened. stepped closer and cupped his face, fingers warm against his skin. ‘baby, you played so well. everyone has off days. i’m proud of you.’
he melted. every damn time.
sometimes, you’d get worked up over the smallest things, like when your coffee order was wrong. ‘how hard is it to do two pumps of vanilla, not three? i’m not asking for rocket science.’ you’d huff, glance at him, and when you caught him grinning, you’d roll your eyes. ‘...whatever. wanna sip?’
he loved that you’d fight anyone and anything, but when it came to him? you handled him with care. your bossiness wasn’t mean, it was protective. you demanded respect for yourself, for him, for the people you cared about. you were fire and warmth all at once.
and hector? he’d never been happier to stand in the middle of that fire.
it was in the little things, too. the texts before his matches, ‘score a goal for me, baby. or don’t. you’re still my favorite.’ the way you’d pull him aside after a rough day and say, ‘c’mere, let me fix your hair. you look like you fought a tornado,’ fingers gentle as you smoothed back his curls.
but nothing compared to the quiet moments. like when you thought he was asleep, and you’d whisper, ‘love you, y’know? so much it’s stupid.’ like he didn’t hear you. like he didn’t tuck those words away, holding them close on the nights he missed you the most.
hector fort knew you were a lot. sassy, bossy, dramatic. but god, he wouldn’t trade it for anything. because beneath all that, you were his soft place to land. his person.
and if you wanted to make something out of nothing, throw a fit over a late pizza delivery or a movie starting five minutes past the showtime? fine. he’d let you. hell, he’d stand right beside you and complain too.
as long as, at the end of the day, he still got to be the one you smiled at like that. the one you whispered those soft, precious things to when you thought no one was listening.
because you, with all your fire and sass and sweetness, you were everything.
i would never argue, never talk back, never raise my voice

It was a Thursday night and you should have known something was wrong from the very beginning. The air was heavier than usual, the silence in apartment was unbearable. You were sitting in the kitchen, idly scrolling through your phone, when you saw the notification. It was from your friend from college, her name flashed on the screen, and it had a link to an article attached to it. You didn't notice it at first, but then you saw the headline.
"Pablo Gavi and Alice: Sparks fly in Barcelona's newest friendship"
Your heart jumped and then dropped completely. The world around you seemed to lose its color. Alice. This name. You had heard them many times before, but you always ignored them. You never thought about it. But now, seeing them in bold, your chest tightened and you couldn't breathe.
You stared at the headline, each word felt like a punch to the gut. "Sparks fly." Your eyes welled up with tears before you could even process the rest. Pablo. Pablo, the person you trusted and loved with all your heart. And now, the realization hit you like a freight train, he wasn't just your Pablo anymore.
He wasn't the one who came back to you at night, laughing at your stupid jokes, holding you close like you were the only person who mattered.
The article continued. Details, too many details, about how Pablo and Alice were inseparable. As always, they seemed to gravitate towards each other, even in the most mundane moments. “Always seen laughing”, “always talking closely during practice”, “even spending time together off the field”.
Your stomach turned, nausea creeping in as you read. Your throat felt tight and the burn of betrayal crawled up your spine, threatening to drown you. Each sentence was a fresh blow. Every new detail made the ground fall away from under you. A pit began to form in your chest and spread throughout your body like ice, sharp and cold.
“Just friends” you muttered under your breath, but the words seemed empty, like a lie you kept trying to convince yourself.
Your hands shook violently as you scrolled down, each sentence sinking into you. Each new revelation, a new crack in the foundation of everything you thought you knew.
It wasn't just friendship. You knew it. You felt it in your bones. And what scared you more was that you saw the signs, you saw them all, but you ignored them. The way Pablo smiled into the phone, his eyes lighting up when Alice's name appeared on the screen. The way he never hesitated to respond to her messages, the inside jokes, the laughter that seemed to echo in the background but you never questioned it. You never let your insecurities creep in because you trusted him. You trusted him completely.
Now, as you sat there, staring at the screen, everything changed. The love you thought was unwavering, the bond you thought would never be broken, suddenly felt fragile, like broken glass beneath your feet.
Later that night, you tried to push away the thoughts that were consuming you. "Maybe I'm exaggerating too much?" you thought. Maybe it was nothing, just harmless friendship, but deep down something was gnawing at you. You couldn't shake the feeling that you were losing him, even if you didn't know why.
When Pablo finally returned home, the silence between the two of you was deafening. You didn't even look at him when he walked through the door, his smile fading the moment he saw the look on your face. It wasn't the way he usually greeted you like always, full of warmth and affection. No, this time it was different. You felt as if a cold void had opened between you.
"Hey, what happened?" his voice was soft, filled with concern, but there was a note of uncertainty in it that cut deeper than any harsh words.
"So...Alice, huh?" the words left your mouth before you could stop them.
They were sharp, cutting, and when they hit the air, it felt like the world stopped. Your voice cracked at the end, the jealousy, the pain, the betrayal spilling out in a way you couldn't contain. Pablo blinked in surprise, his face turning pale.
"What about Alice?" he was confused, clearly off balance, but there was something else in his eyes, something that made you feel like you were standing on the edge of a cliff, ready to fall into something you couldn't control.
Then you stood up, the tension in your body unbearable.
"The girl you spend all your time with? The one they call your new best friend? The one I wasn't supposed to worry about?" you scoffed, looking at him from under the bull.
His expression faltered, and then a wave of guilt washed over his face.
"Amor, I... I don't know what you're talking about and you definitely have nothing to worry about" he stated calmly.
But now you couldn't stop. You couldn't hold it in any longer. The pain poured out of you like a flood.
"Don't lie to me, Pablo!" you growled, your voice shaking with anger, frustration, and pain you couldn't put into words. “I saw the way you looked at her. You're constantly texting her, laughing, sharing inside jokes. You're not the same with me anymore” you said in one breath, sadness radiating from you.
He frowned, frustration creeping into his voice.
“Y/N, you're acting ridiculous” he growled, but even then there was a note of hurt in his words. “I love YOU. Alice and I just-”
"What is it, Pablo?" you interrupted, raising your voice. "Just friends? You don't understand that, do you? I'm your girlfriend! Not her!" you screamed.
There was a silence that was suffocating. He clenched his jaw and his eyes seemed to darken, trying to find the words to fix this, but there were none. Eventually his voice softened, though it still carried the weight of something unsaid.
"I already told you. She's just a friend. Why can't you believe me?" he asked impatiently.
“Because you're not showing me that you care” you snapped, tears now streaming down your cheeks, your breathing ragged. “You're so wrapped up in her that I feel invisible, Pablo. I don’t even know who you are anymore” your voice cracked.
"I don't-" Pablo started, you interrupted him, every word you said now feeling like a dagger.
"No, don't you dare! I sat here and watched you. I watched you talk to her, watch you smile at her like she was the only person in the world. And I was too blind to notice, but now... Now I don't I can unsee this” your voice cracked.
His face hardened. He opened his mouth to speak, but the words died on his tongue. He closed his eyes as if trying to gather his thoughts, but you were already too far away.
“Please, Y/N” he said quietly, walking up to you, his voice barely above a whisper. “She's just a fellow staff member, someone I talk to, nothing more. I'm telling you there's nothing between us. Please trust me" he explained.
“Amor, you have to believe me. She's just a friend. I don't know why people say such things, but you're the one I want! It was always you!” he spoke desperately but calmly, trying to calm you down.
You shook your head, tears now flowing freely down your cheeks.
“I don't believe you anymore” you whispered, the words seeming to choke you. “I don't know how to believe you anymore,” you sobbed, shaking your head, slowly backing towards the door.
Pablo's face fell, pain written all over it. His hand reached for you, but you recoiled, every instinct telling you to run.
“No, don't touch me” your voice was rough, barely a whisper, but it was enough to make him freeze in place, feeling hurt.
"I'm sorry, okay?" his voice broke. “Please, you have to believe me. I love you, Y/N! Alice is just a friend” he said, contrite.
Your chest ached, the pain was unbearable.
"How could you love me and still do that? How could you let her take control like that? How could you let me feel like that, like I wasn't enough?" you threw out everything that was on your heart.
Pablo flinched as if the words physically hurt him. He stepped closer, but you shook your head violently, backing away.
"No, Pablo. You don't understand. I'm not second choice. I'm not a spare. I'm your girlfriend. I shouldn't even be competing for your attention! I'm the one who counts, not her!" you screamed, desperate and angry.
His jaw clenched, anger flashed in his eyes for a moment, but then it turned into something much worse, regret and helplessness.
“Y/N, please... I didn't want this to happen” a tear rolled down his cheek.
“I don't care what you meant” you blurted out, raising your voice, pouring out the weight of your broken heart. “I care about what you did. And I can't go on living like this" you choked out.
“Please” he said, his voice breaking, he tried to grab your hand again, but you kept pulling away. “Don't say that. Don't say you're leaving. We can fix this. We can-” you interrupted him.
"No!" you screamed, unable to hold back the surge of emotion. “I can't do this anymore. I'm not going to sit here and watch you fall in love with someone else. I’m not going to be the one you leave” you sobbed, a waterfall of tears falling from your eyes.
He looked at you as if you had just shattered him, his face pale, his eyes wide, a deep, unbearable sadness overwhelming him.
He looked at you as if you had just shattered him, his face pale, his eyes wide, a deep, unbearable sadness overwhelming him.
"Y/N, please don't go. I need you. I love you! Only you!" he screamed in despair, he felt his world collapsing.
You shook your head, your heart breaking in a way you never thought possible.
"You should have thought about it sooner. I'm done" you choked out, turning your back to him.
You couldn't look at him anymore. Not with the suffocating weight of everything unspoken between the two of you. Not with the reality of what he did.
You grabbed your coat, the material like a barrier between you and the raw pain that twisted in your chest. Once you ran out of his house, you didn't look back. You couldn't. You couldn't bear the sight of him, standing there, broken.
After you closed the door, Pablo fell to his knees, burying his face in his hands. He began to sob, feeling his chest sink and his heart clenching in pain. He couldn't believe what had just happened. You left him.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
The next day was a suffocating void. Silence. She was pushing from all sides. You haven't heard anything from Pablo. The thought of hearing his voice pained you. Of course you missed him. You couldn't believe that everything fell apart in just a few minutes.
The awkward tension of trying to make sense of it all made your skin crawl. But you couldn't stop thinking about the article, about Alice, about the distance growing between you and the person you thought you knew, the person you loved.
"Maybe you overreacted?" you thought. Maybe it wasn't as bad as you thought. But you couldn't shake the gnawing feeling in your stomach. Jealousy twisted inside you, something deep and primal that you couldn't push away, no matter how hard you tried.
Hours passed. Pablo called once. Then the second one. Tenth. But you couldn't bring yourself to answer. You didn't want to listen to his explanations, you didn't want to hear him tell you that everything would be fine, that Alice was just a friend. You couldn't stand it anymore.
Only late in the evening, when night had already fallen, you heard a knock on the door. Hesitantly, you opened it, but there was no mistaking the pain in his eyes when he saw you standing there, red-eyed, shaking.
“Y/N” Pablo said quietly, his voice full of emotion.
His usual confident demeanor was gone, replaced with something raw, something real.
“I need to talk to you. I'm here to fix it. Please” he begged, Pablo’s voice firm but gentle, his hands trembling and his gaze softening as he looked at you.
You crossed your arms but didn't look away. The wound in your heart still hurt, but there was something in his eyes that made you want to listen.
“I don't know if there's anything else to say, Pablo” you said quietly.
“Please” he said again, his voice cracking.
You hesitated, but you let him into your apartment, and when you closed the door, he immediately turned to you.
"I know I messed up. I should have made you feel safe. I should have shown you that you were everything to me, and instead I let you doubt. I let her get in the way" he said.
You took a shaky breath, fighting back the tears that threatened to fall.
“I don't know how to trust you again” you whispered, your voice was fragile, you were on the verge of tears. The pain still too fresh to ignore.
Pablo's gaze softened and he took a small step towards you, his eyes pleading.
“Y/N, I never wanted to make you feel like the second option. I love you. I love you so much. You are my whole world. Alice, she is nothing. Just a friend. But I was stupid and let my actions speak louder than my words. I'm very sorry, it will never happen again" he said in a desperate voice.
His words hit you like a tidal wave and for a moment you couldn't breathe. He took another step closer, extending his hand, but you pulled back, not ready to give him that much more. You had to listen to him first, he understood.
"I need to hear you say it, Pablo. I need to know that you're not just saying it because you don't want to lose me. I need to know that you're serious. You need to prove to me that I'm the one you want" You hoped that everything would work out.
He nodded slowly, his eyes shining with emotion.
"I need you, Y/N. I will do whatever it takes to make things right. If you want time, I will give it to you. If you want space, I will stay away. But I will never stop fighting for you" he looked deep into your eyes, and sincerity shone from his warm brown eyes.
The sensitivity in his voice shattered something inside you. He wasn't perfect and maybe there will always be insecurities, there will always be moments of doubt, but the love in his eyes was real. The sincerity in his words was too strong to ignore.
“I believe you” you finally whispered, the weight in your chest lifting just a little. “But it won't be easy, Pablo. It will take some time” you said quietly but gently.
He smiled softly, a small, broken smile, but it was enough.
"I know. And I'll spend every day proving it to you" he announced.
You took a deep breath and without thinking, closed the distance between the two of you. His arms immediately wrapped around you, holding you tightly, desperately, as if he was afraid you might slip away from him again.
You felt his warmth, his steady heartbeat, and for the first time in days, you allowed yourself to believe in him again. For the first time in what seemed like forever, you saw the real Pablo. The one who was a man who made mistakes but tried, really tried to fix it.
“I love you, Y/N” Pablo murmured into your ear, his voice full of emotion. “I love you more than anything” he whispered.
You clung to him, burying your face in his chest, your fingers gripping the fabric of his sweatshirt as a sob escaped your throat.
"I love you too, Pablo. But I need you to show it to me. Every day. Not just with words" you sobbed, and he stroked your hair soothingly.
"I will" he promised in a firm voice. "I will, I swear" he said with tears in his eyes, but with relief in his heart that you gave him a second chance.
And in that moment, as his arms held you tighter, you realized that love wasn't perfect. It wasn't always smooth. But it was worth fighting for. And you knew, deep inside, that despite the pain, despite the suffering, you and Pablo had something worth saving.
"I never, ever wanted to hurt you. I'm sorry I didn't do enough to calm you down back then. I love you, mi vida, and I'm not going anywhere" he spoke again after a short silence.
You swallow hard, feeling tears begin to form.
"I'm sorry too. I should have trusted you. My jealousy got the best of me. I don't want to lose you over something so stupid" you said, your voice broken.
Pablo took your hand and squeezed it gently.
“You won't lose me. I promise. I'm always here for you and I won't let anything come between us, neither gossip nor uncertainty. It's just you and me, okay?” he asked, pulling away slightly to look into your eyes.
You nodded, then snuggled into his chest again as he held you tightly in his arms and kissed the top of your head. The tension was starting to melt away. Healing takes time, but you both knew you could handle it. Because you had each other and that was all that mattered.

In the following weeks, everything slowly returned to normal. Pablo tried to show you how much he loved you, always putting you first, always assuring you that you were the one he wanted. Alice was still nearby, but you no longer felt threatened. You learned to trust him again, and he learned to be more open with you, no longer allowing misunderstandings to build up.
One evening, you and Pablo were sitting on the couch in his living room. The night was quiet, and the faint hum of the city was barely audible through the open window. You spent hours talking, really talking about everything that was weighing on your hearts. Misunderstanding with Alice, jealousy, doubts. You were finally starting to feel like the distance between you was closing.
Pablo turned to you, his gaze soft but intense. The way he looked at you now was different, full of love, sincerity, and something that made you feel a sense of relief in your chest. He was so patient with you, so understanding. He apologized to you countless times, reassured you time and time again, but it was his actions, not just his words, that made you feel that everything would be okay.
You felt a little shy under his intense gaze, but your heart was full. The air between you was heavy, not from tension, but from something much more powerful.
"But are you sure?" you asked again, your voice barely audible above a whisper. “That it was just me? That you love me and that I am the one you want?” you asked, still unsure at some points.
He nodded, smiling at you, his hand slowly reaching up to cup your cheek gently.
"Always you, Y/N. Only you. I can't imagine life without you. I've never been more sure of anything than this" he confessed, his eyes shining with pure sincerity and unimaginable love for you.
A lump formed in your throat, your heart swelling at his words. You were so scared, so unsure, but now it all made sense. Pablo loved you, more than you could ever imagine. Now you knew it deep in your bones.
“You mean everything to me, Y/N” he murmured, his thumb gently brushing your skin. “I never want to hurt you again” he said firmly.
You closed your eyes for a moment, leaning into his touch, allowing yourself to feel the warmth of his presence. Then, opening your eyelids slightly without thinking, you leaned forward slightly, closing the distance between you and Pablo.
The world seemed to stop, and when your lips met his, everything inside you ignited. At first it was gentle, shy, almost as if he was asking for permission. But you deepened the kiss, your hands reaching up to touch his face, your fingers combing through his hair as you pulled him closer.
His lips tasted of relief and love, and in that kiss you could feel the weight of everything you had been through together. The jealousy, the misunderstandings, the pain, all of it melted away, replaced by an undeniable connection between the two of you, a longing. There was no longer any room for doubt, no room for uncertainty. It was just the two of you, wrapped in this moment of pure love.
When you finally pulled away, your foreheads rested against each other, both of you out of breath. You smiled to each other, your heart racing, but uncertainty still crept into your mind.
“I was afraid, Pablo” you finally whispered, feeling bad for interrupting the romantic moment. “I was afraid that I wasn't enough for you, that you would find someone better, someone who wouldn't be so insecure. And then there was Alicia, always around, always so perfect. And the rumors, my God, the rumors… They made me think I was losing you” tears of terror gathered in your eyes again.
Pablo's face softened as he sat even closer to you, his hand reaching for yours.
"You'll never lose me, Y/N. I promise. I'm not perfect, but I know I love you. I want to be with you, always. You are more than enough and I will do anything to make you feel safe, to make you trust me again" he stroked with his thumb your hand.
You looked at him for a long moment, your heart pounding in your chest. And then you slowly walked into his arms, letting him hold you tightly.
“I'm sorry again, too” you said quietly. “I should have trusted you more. I was just so scared...” you whispered.
“It's okay” he whispered, kissing the top of your head. “We'll get through this together. We always do this” he rubbed your back.
“I love you, cariño” you said softly, a smile curving your lips.
"I love you more, mi amor" Pablo replied, his voice equally quiet but full of promise.
And when he kissed you again, this time with more passion and confidence, you knew everything would be okay.
There were no more doubts, no more fears. You learned that love requires vulnerability, and sometimes even the strongest relationships have to go through a storm before they can shine brighter.
You were his and he was yours and nothing or no one could change that.

Guys he just has bow legs 😭
it happens to a lot of footballers when they’re kids because when they’re having growth spurts and when their bones are still developing, there’s a lot of stress on their knees!
The action of kicking mostly uses the inside leg muscles, when can sometimes make an imbalance that can pull the knee joint inwards, which makes the shin bone to angle outwards/inwards!
(sorry for the physio yap 😭 long story short he’s alg but he has a higher risk of knee injuries and knee arthritis 😃)
LMAOOO IKKK I MENTIONED IT BC I SAW A TT AB HOW GAVI HAS REALLY FUCKED UP LEGS AND I JUST NEVER NOTICED IT @barcapix
LETS GO YOU LIKED MY IDEA FOR ONCE giving you another bc im cooking rn. MY HUSBAND. ALEJANDRO BALDIE. okay so basically he’s still a footballer and he has a photoshoot and the girl behind the camera (shy but talented photographer) is who he falls in love with duh. but the twist is the media discovers her and baldies coming of age relationship andddd they twist it SO if like to see that play out thanks
xoxo, i. 🐒
summary: it’s the shoot for the new barca kit, except balde finds love in the photographer
warnings: none!
writers note: ok issy, you’ve been cooking i guess?? also the twist is lowkey confusing so that’s being scrapped, you’ll be surprised tho!! i’m making this in multiple parts as well bc this is lowkey complex… also ignore how rushed this is at the end!
word count: 1.3k
The studio was quiet except from the light hum of lights and the soft rustle of fabric as she adjusted the new kits on the rack. She dusted her hands on her jeans, feeling the normal nerves she always got before a shoot. Today, it wasn’t just any shoot, it was one for Barca - and this sessions focus was on Alejandro Balde. His name alone sent her heart racing.
Alejandro stepped in after a few minutes, approaching her. ‘Hi,’ he said, ‘You must be the photographer for today, i’m Alejandro.’
She nodded quickly, fidgeting with her camera strap. ‘Yeah, I am. Nice to meet you.’
‘Nice to meet you too’ he replied. He sat his bag against the wall, glancing around the studio to try and get a feel of the space. ‘Looks great, where should I start?’
She hesitated, her fingers tightening on her grip on the camera. ‘Uhhh, over by the backdrop,’ she said softly, pointing. ‘We’ll start with some simple shots if that’s okay?’
‘Sounds good.’ he said with a small nod, moving to the spot she pointed at. His movements were laidback as she felt herself relaxing a bit. He stood patiently, waiting for her instructions, his hands laid loosely around his sides.
She lifted the camera, her voice barely a whisper. ‘Can you um, turn slightly to the left? And maybe look down a bit?’
Alejandro followed her directions without a question, his gaze focused. ‘Like this?’ he asked, looking up for a second to check.
She gave a quick nod. ‘Perfect.’ she murmured, snapping a few shots. The soft click of the shutter filled the silence.
‘You’re really good at this,’ he said after a moment, his tone genuine. ‘I guess it feels… easy.’
Her cheeks warmed, as she quickly ducked behind the camera. ‘Thank you.’ she mumbled, adjusting the lens to give herself a second. ‘You’re easy to work with.’
He chuckled softly, ‘I’m glad, I always feel a bit awkward in front of the camera.’
Her brows lifted in surprise, and before she could think, she said ‘And that’s why i’m always behind the camera.’
He smiled, ‘You’re making it easier, you’re calm even if you’re quiet.’
She felt her face heat up even more. ‘I’m just… focused,’ she said quickly, adjusting the camera again. ‘Let’s try a few more like this.’
‘Whatever you think works,’ he said, his voice steady but soft, as if he didn’t want to disturb her concentration.
As the shoot continued, she found herself stealing glances between shots, noticing the way alejandro seemed to settle into the moment, his quiet confidence settling her nerves. And with each quiet exchange, each smile shared, she felt herself falling.
By the time the session was halfway through, the nervous edge in the room had fully become something quieter and softer. She felt her heart skip whenever Alejandro caught her eye but she was starting to fine her rhythm again - giving quiet instructions.
‘You’re good at this’ Alejandro said again, during a brief pause. His voice gentle, as he watched her adjust her camera settings. ‘You barely say anything but you know what you want.’
She fumbled with the dial, the compliment catching her off guard, ‘Oh, uh I guess I just let the photos speak for itself’ she murmured.
Alejandro smiled faintly, ‘They will, I can tell.’ He glanced at the rack of kits nearby. ‘Do you want me to change into the next one?’
She nodded quickly. ‘Yes please, it’s the third kit, the green one.’
He crossed over to the rack, his moves unhurried. ‘So you’ve worked with a lot of players before?’ he asked as he grabbed the shirt.
‘A few,’ she replied, her voice soft. ‘Mostly smaller shoots. This is a bigger one for me.’
‘Well, it doesn’t feel like it.’ Alejandro said, pulling the new shirt over his head. ‘Feels like you’ve been doing this forever.’
She ducked her head, a small, shy smile tugging at her lips, ‘Thanks.’
When he returned to the backdrop, the bright kit fitting him perfectly, she couldn’t help but notice how the neon green complimented his features.
‘Ready when you are.’ Alejandro said softly.
She nodded, her hands steadying as she framed the shot. ‘Turn to your right.’ she murmured. ‘A little more… perfect.’
The shutter clicked for a second, the world seemed to shrink to just the two of them. The room seemed smaller, the air heavier, not in a bad way. In a way that made her feel like nothing else existed but the way he looked at her.
‘Are you always this focused when you shoot?’ Alejandro asked, his voice low.
She hesitated, her finger hovering over the shutter. ‘I mean, I guess so.’ she said softly. ‘It’s easier to stay in my head.’
He tilted his head, his expression thoughtful. ‘And what about outside your head?’
She blinked, lowering the camera, ‘What do you mean by that?’
‘I mean,’ he said gently, ‘sometimes it’s good to come out, to be in the moment.’
Her heart fluttered, and for a second she didn’t know how to respond. Instead, she nodded quickly and bought the camera back up. ‘Let’s uhm try one more shot’
‘Alright.’
Eventually, the shoot ended, and he left. The studio felt quieter without him as she packed up her gear. She was all set to go home until her phone buzzed. It was a dm from instagram.
‘hey, it’s ale, thanks for today, you were amazing’
She stared at the screen, unsure on how to respond and ended up replying with,
‘ofcourse!! you were amazing to work with’
She hit send and immediately felt her stomach twist with nerves. But before she could think; the dots indicating that he was typing appeared.
‘it was nice working with you, maybe we could get coffee sometime if you’re not busy?’
Her breath was caught. Coffee? With him? She bit her lip before replying with,
‘yeah, i’d like that’
His response was almost immediate:
‘great, how about tomorrow?’
Tomorrow?? Her head spun at the thought of the small time frame.
‘tomorrow works!!’
Her response short, to try and match his nonchalance.
‘perfect, i’ll text you the place and time, goodnight.’
She hearted the message and set her phone down, her heart racing.
They both met up in a downtown cafe near the training grounds and conjured up some small talk.
‘So,’ he said after a while, his eyes twinkling with curiosity, ‘How did you get into photography?’
She hesitated, surprised by the question. Most people didn’t ask. ‘Uhm, I guess I’ve always liked capturing moments,’ she said softly, her fingers tracing the edge of her mug. ‘It feels… safer, somehow. Being behind the camera instead of in front of it.’
Alejandro nodded, his expression thoughtful. ‘I get that,’ he said. ‘It’s kind of like football for me. When I’m on the pitch, everything else just… fades away.’
She glanced up at him, her shyness giving way to curiosity. ‘How did you get into football?’ she asked.
He smiled, leaning back in his chair. ‘My dad used to take me to matches when I was a kid. I’d sit in the stands, dreaming of playing on a big field someday. Eventually, I started kicking a ball around, and… well, here I am.’
The conversation flowed more easily after that, each question and answer pulling them closer together. By the time they finished their coffee, she felt like she’d known Alejandro for far longer than just a few hours.
When they finally stepped outside, the afternoon sun was beginning to dip, casting a soft golden glow over the city. Alejandro turned to her, his hands tucked into his jacket pockets.
‘Thanks for coming,’ he said, his voice warm. ‘I’m glad we did this.’
‘Me too,’ She said, her heart bursting with a quiet, unexpected happiness.
‘Maybe we could do it again sometime?’ he asked, his tone hopeful.
She hesitated for only a second before nodding. ‘I’d like that.’
Alejandro smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. ‘Good.’
That date lead to a ton after, making them official, but do they want to announce it to the public..?
Hiii!!! I love your João fics smmm 💖💖 and I got some inspiration from the Gavi x tennis player! Reader, I was wondering if I can make a request for a similar one with joão but instead of the reader being tennis player, could it be volleyball player?
So basically joão decides to attend his girlfriends (reader) game since he had a day off-and reader is a libero where she always haves to defend and always having to jump onto the floor to defend the ball from hitting the floor.
How about the opponents spiker hits the ball slightly farther away but she stills needs to catch the ball to throw it back to her teammates to manage to get a point for them but she accidentally crashes into like the court banners or maybe a table surrounding the volleyball court and like joão is scared and worried for his gf but at the end she was fine and just a sprain wrist and ankle? And he's lowk overprotective after the game
Hopefully the plot makes sense for you😭

joão wasn’t supposed to be here.
his schedule was packed, as always, but for once, fate had given him a rare day off. and the moment he realized it lined up perfectly with one of your games, there was no question, he was going.
so here he was, sitting courtside, cap pulled low over his head, completely locked in on the match.
he’d seen you play before, of course. he knew how talented you were, how much work you put into your game. but watching you in person? feeling the energy of the match, hearing the squeak of your shoes on the court, seeing you throw yourself into every single play, it was different.
it was exhilarating. and terrifying.
because as a libero, you never stopped moving. you were constantly sprinting, diving, launching yourself across the floor to save impossible balls. every time you hit the ground, joão flinched. every time you threw your body in harm’s way, his heart nearly stopped.
‘does she always do that?’ he muttered to one of your teammates who was sitting on the bench.
she barely looked up from watching the game. ‘she’s a libero. she kinda has to.’
joão frowned. he knew that. logically, he understood that this was your job, just like football was his. but that didn’t mean he had to like watching you hit the floor over and over again.
but then, the match got even more intense.
it was the final set, tied at 24-24. one team had to win by two, and everyone was playing like their lives depended on it.
joão watched as the opposing team’s outside hitter, easily the tallest girl on the court, jumped up for a brutal spike, aiming for the back corner.
and then he saw you move.
you were already sprinting before the ball even made contact.
his stomach twisted. he knew that look in your eyes.
you weren’t going to let it drop.
and you didn’t.
you dove, arms outstretched, fingers grazing the ball just in time to send it flying back toward your teammates.
but the momentum carried you too far.
instead of landing safely on the floor, you crashed straight into the court barriers.
joão shot to his feet, his heart slamming against his ribs.
the sound of your body hitting the plastic barricades and knocking over a small table made his stomach churn. you hit the floor hard, and for a second, you didn’t move.
his entire body went cold.
the gym fell silent.
then, before he could even process what was happening, your teammates were surrounding you, the medical staff rushing over.
joão’s hands clenched at his sides as he forced himself to stay where he was. he wanted nothing more than to run onto the court, to push past everyone and check on you himself. but he wasn’t allowed to.
he held his breath, waiting, his pulse hammering in his ears.
and then
you sat up.
joão exhaled so sharply it almost felt like he’d been holding his breath for hours.
the relief that crashed over him was instant, but it didn’t completely settle until he saw you carefully flex your fingers, rolling your wrist with a slight wince.
a sprain. maybe your ankle too, judging by the way you hesitated when your teammates helped you up.
but you were okay.
and despite everything, despite the fact that you had just thrown yourself straight into a table, your team managed to win the point.
and then the game.
but joão didn’t care about the score. not really. the only thing he cared about was getting to you.
so the second the final whistle blew, he was moving.
he pushed past the crowd, barely hearing the people congratulating him on his own recent games, barely acknowledging the fans who recognized him.
all he could focus on was you.
you were sitting on the bench, your ankle wrapped, your wrist wrapped, casually chatting with your coach like you hadn’t just nearly given him a heart attack.
‘what the hell was that?’ he blurted out, startling you slightly.
your head snapped up, eyes widening in surprise. ‘joão—’
‘why would you even go for that ball?’ he continued, running a hand through his hair, clearly still panicked. ‘you could’ve been seriously hurt!’
you blinked at him, processing his words before a small, amused smile tugged at your lips. ‘we won the point, didn’t we?’
he stared at you like you were insane. ‘winning isn’t worth getting hurt.’
you sighed, shaking your head fondly before reaching out with your good hand, grabbing the front of his hoodie and tugging him closer. ‘it is to me.’
he exhaled sharply, but he didn’t pull away. instead, he let himself sink down in front of you, his hands hovering like he wanted to touch you but was afraid of making anything worse.
‘you’re impossible,’ he muttered, his voice softer now, but still frustrated.
‘you love me.’
he sighed, dropping his forehead against your uninjured shoulder. ‘unfortunately for me, yeah.’
you laughed, wrapping your arm around him and pressing a kiss to the side of his head. ‘i’m fine, joão.’
‘you have a sprained wrist and ankle,’ he grumbled.
‘but i’m okay,’ you reassured him, squeezing his hoodie gently.
he pulled back just enough to look at you, his eyes scanning your face, like he needed to make sure you were really telling the truth.
then, after a beat, he exhaled and stood up.
‘okay. come on.’
before you could react, he scooped you up into his arms.
you yelped, your arms instinctively wrapping around his neck. ‘joão!’
‘nope. you’re not walking on that ankle,’ he said firmly, adjusting you so you were comfortably nestled against his chest. ‘i’ve decided you’re not allowed to move at all until you’re healed.’
you huffed, crossing your arms. ‘you’re being ridiculous.’
‘you’re reckless,’ he shot back, pressing a kiss to your forehead. ‘but lucky for you, i love you anyway.’
you sighed dramatically, but you couldn’t help the way your heart melted when he tightened his arms around you.
‘guess i should get injured more often,’ you teased.
he shot you a warning look. ‘don’t even joke about that.’
you grinned, resting your head against his shoulder.
maybe he was being overprotective. maybe he was being dramatic.
but you weren’t complaining.
LOVED ur recent fic! Please i need a part two of the them somehow building the courage to FaceTime 🫡 ik u can pull this one off!

part 1
it starts with texts. then, late night calls. and now, every time your phone rings and his name flashes across the screen, there’s a small part of you that wonders when, if, this thing between you will turn into something more.
you don’t say it out loud, of course. but it lingers, a quiet thought at the back of your mind.
and apparently, it lingers in his too.
joão: you ever think it’s kinda weird we don’t even know what each other looks like?
weird how?
joão: i mean. we talk almost every day. i feel like i know you. but if i passed you on the street, i wouldn’t even realize it.
you hesitate, fingers hovering over the keyboard. because he’s right. it is weird. but at the same time, there’s something safe about this, about not knowing.
maybe that’s what makes this different.
there’s a long pause before he replies.
joão: do you want it to stay different?
your heart skips.
do you?
this time, the pause stretches longer.
then, your phone starts ringing. but not the way it usually does. not a normal call.
facetime.
your stomach flips.
for a second, you just stare at the screen, watching his name and the little video icon blink as if waiting for you to decide.
and then, before you can talk yourself out of it, you swipe to answer.
at first, neither of you say anything. the screen takes a second to adjust, and then there he is.
joão félix.
he’s lying in bed, the warm glow of a lamp behind him. his hair is a little messy, and he’s wearing a plain hoodie, but he still looks… well. exactly how you imagined. maybe even better.
his lips part slightly, like he’s trying to find the right words.
‘hi,’ he finally says, voice softer than usual.
you swallow, forcing yourself to focus. ‘hi.’
he shifts, propping himself up on one elbow. ‘so. this is us. finally seeing each other.’
you let out a small laugh, even though your heart is racing. ‘yeah. guess it is.’
he watches you for a second, then smiles. it’s not the kind of smile you’ve seen in pictures, the confident, media-trained one. no, this one is different. smaller. realer.
‘you look exactly how i thought you would,’ he says quietly.
your breath catches. ‘is that a good thing?’
he nods, eyes flickering over your face like he’s trying to memorize it. ‘yeah. really good.’
your cheeks heat up, and you look away, biting back a smile.
‘what?’ he teases.
‘nothing,’ you mumble.
he chuckles. ‘you’re bad at lying.’
‘shut up.’
he laughs again, then shifts slightly, resting his chin on his hand. ‘so, do we do this now? do we start facetiming all the time?’
you pretend to think. ‘hmm. i don’t know. kinda liked the mystery.’
he raises an eyebrow. ‘so you don’t want to see my face?’
you roll your eyes. ‘i didn’t say that.’
he smirks. ‘so you do.’
you sigh dramatically. ‘maybe.’
he grins, and you realize something, this, whatever this is between you, is real. and suddenly, you’re not so scared of where it might go.
you should’ve expected this.
ever since that first facetime call, joão hasn’t stopped calling you. it starts at night, the way your usual phone calls used to be, but now, instead of just hearing his voice, you see him, hair messy from bed, hoodies that are way too big, the soft glow of a lamp making his face look warmer than it already is.
but then, it stops being just at night.
one afternoon, while you’re out running errands, your phone buzzes. you glance down, expecting a text, but instead, it’s another facetime request.
you blink. he’s never called you this early before.
you answer, and immediately, his face appears, squinting slightly against the sunlight.
‘what are you doing?’ you ask, adjusting the phone so he doesn’t get a view of the grocery store aisle behind you.
‘nothing,’ he says, leaning back against what looks like a stadium seat. ‘just finished training.’
you glance at the time. ‘it’s barely been an hour since we last talked.’
he shrugs, a small smirk tugging at his lips. ‘so?’
your stomach does that annoying little flip thing again. you huff, trying to ignore it. ‘so, you’re clingy.’
joão gasps dramatically. ‘clingy?’
‘yes.’
‘you like it,’ he accuses.
you roll your eyes. ‘do not.’
he grins, tilting his head. ‘so if i hung up right now, you wouldn’t care?’
your face heats up. ‘i didn’t say that.’
‘hmm,’ he hums, pretending to think. ‘i’ll let you have this one.’
you shake your head, pretending to be exasperated, but the truth is… you don’t mind. not even a little.
and that’s the problem.
because the more you talk, the more you facetime, the more you catch yourself smiling at your phone like an idiot, the harder it is to ignore the fact that this? whatever this is? it’s starting to feel like more than just a random wrong number that turned into a late night habit.
and you don’t know what to do about it.
