These days it seems I am especially loving the works of Aleksey Savrasov, a Russian Artist. The underpainting appears to be earth tones & the paintings always emote a strong atmospheric feeling. He was considered to be a realist. Though I tend towards Impressionism he equals them in his fine use of light & shadow.
