This scene is so funny and has a lot of interesting headcanon opportunities when you think deeply about it. Let me just list some details:

Reigen is holding this pistol with 100% perfect grip and form. He is not nervous at all, his eyes are trained on the boss as a target, and his form remains perfect even as he pulls the trigger. He does not falter.

Now, something thing to keep in mind is that citizens cannot own guns in Japan. Only military and police are able to. [Sure, airsoft guns are legal (they were actually invented in Japan!) but I doubt Reigen was an airsoft kid who practiced it like a religion.]

Which leads to the question: Why is Reigen perfectly trained in handling a firearm?

The simple (boring) answer is obvious: it’s an intense moment of an anime. Of course they aren’t gonna draw Reigen handling a gun poorly—that wouldn’t be cool and it would take away the seriousness of the moment.

But that’s the boring answer. We wanna make this FUN.

Maybe Reigen has experience with guns because his father is more than just a “civil servant?” Maybe Reigen has had another job in the past—one that he isn’t keen on talking about? Maybe—

My take on the S&S crew ten years into the future, with some inspiration from the comic entries on MP100's comic contest a couple years back!
