Intimacy is not about sex. Sure, sex is an intrical part of it, but it is not the foundation of true intimacy.  True intimacy is closeness, it is connection, it is trust, it is a unique bond.  True intimacy occurs the moment you reveal the most vulnerable aspects of your self to another knowing that you will be safe with them; that they will embrace you, cherish you just as you are; knowing you are accepted and valued wholly in your perfect imperfection.  True intimacy occurs when two souls connect, the bodies then naturally follow. _ Emme
